In which Abraham nearly sacrifices Isaac and the terrible conundrum of responsibility is exposed. Stories of death with Moses at a Parisian cafe inside the mind of Jacques Derrida. Recorded on the Armistice Centenary.

In which Abraham, Isaac and Jacob plot the future, while children are taken from their parents by the state. Stories of promise and betrayal and the problem of living together.

In which Matt reads The Epic of Abraham, Isaac, and Jacob (Genesis 12-35) from The Unauthorized Version, an original retranslation of the Bible into English.

In which the genealogies hold an unexpected secret. Stories of democracy and the unstable hybrid identity at the very heart of the world - why we’re not made in the image of God. Final episode of Series 1.

In which the gods resist the birth of civilisation and the human story gets upended. Stories of Progress and Primitivism and the uncertain struggle for a new/old world.

In which language is confused and God is confusion. Stories of Babel, globalisation, the translation of hobbits, and the philosophy of Jacques Derrida.

In which the gods can't reset the Earth and respond very differently to the farce. Stories of apocalypse and the frustrations of a compromised life.

In which the gods scapegoat Cain for their failings, and Eve is embodied in the Earth. Stories of violence and desire, and possibilities for reimagining gender for men.

In which Eve is advertised and Eden gets a rewrite. Stories of gender in economics and violence, and an origin myth for a post-Weinstein world. (Warning: includes discussion of sexual violence against women)

In which the gods create the world. It’s the festival of Guy Fawkes, and Matt talks terrorism, tells Babylonian stories, and reflects with Emmanuel Levinas’ philosophy of the face.

In which Moses drinks beer with Tolkien, and Jesus is haunting with zombies. It's Halloween, the 500th anniversary of the Reformation, and the launch of Bible Pirate!
