Clive has been bringing hits to the airwaves for over 50 years. He founded Arista Records and "discovered" an incredible number of artists that went on to become super star sensations. It was he who suggested to a young Barry Manilow that he should record "Mandy", and we all know how that went!

Stage and screen legend, William H. Macy, joins us to talk about a powerful new film - in theaters this Friday 10/10 - "Soul on Fire".  The movie is based on the true story of motivational author and speaker, John O'Leary, who survived near-fatal burns as a child, and went on to inspire millions.

William portrays Jack Buck, baseball announcer for the St. Louis Cardinals at the time of John's accident. Jack was instrumental in John's recovery and William nailed the part. He talks about the movie, of course, but we get to know William too. To our delight, he's a low-key, affable guy with a great deal of gratitude for his life and love for his family. Many of us, (of a certain age) know John Ratzenberger from his portrayal as Cliff Claven from Cheers, and many more of us (of a much younger age) know his voice from his Pixar characters; Hammy from Toy Story, Mack from Cars, and The Underminer from The Incredibles... But he's with us today to talk about a lesser known role, that of Mike, an angel, in an early Dallas Jenkins movie, "What if...".

"What if...", released several years before "The Chosen", was Dallas' first movie production. John says all his roles have been an angel of some sorts - he always plays the good guy - but only as Mike did he get to deck someone. lol  Re-releasing on its 15th anniversary, "What if..." is in theaters August 5th and 7th only. Seven years ago life came crashing into Faith Broussard Cade in the form of a tractor-trailor rig that hit her car from behind. She sustained a concussion and a traumatic brain injury. Unable to return to her career as a school counselor, and struggling in her role as wife and mother, Faith had to figure out how to create a life where her injuries were a part of her story but didn't define her. Her practice of writing herself daily little "love notes" that reminded her that she WAS ENOUGH, and the decision to post them to social media, was transformative.

Nobody, but nobody, does Christmas like Michael Bublé does Christmas!

This year he's gifted us with a beautiful new single, "Maybe This Christmas", recorded with Carly Pearce. He calls it "a special song that comes from a deep place" wrapping up his hope, his faith and his humanity, in a prayer for grace for himself and the world. I cried when I heard it. You will too.

Michael took on a new role recently, as a coach on Season 26 of The Voice, and was gushing about it and the friendships he's forged with the other coaches when we sat down to chat. (Soon after our conversation, he became the first coach in the history of the show to have the top two artists on his team on his debut season!) He debuted "Maybe This Christmas" on the season finale, and today I get to share it all with you.

George Michael and Andrew Ridgeley - as WHAM! - set out to conquer the music world in 1982. They were still teenagers! The eldest sister, and only remaining member of the original group, Ruth Pointer, continues to perform the music of The Pointer Sisters all over the globe with her daughter, Issa Pointer, and granddaughter, Sadako Pointer. Waaaay back in November of 2021 I interviewed a delightful British author/illustrator named Charlie Mackesy. Charlie had written a book that the entire world had fallen in love with; "The Boy, the mole, the fox, and the Horse." Its message was one of hope, compassion, and above all, kindness.

What a privilege! I was invited to the brand new home of the streaming TV series, The Chosen, where I got to tour the set and meet with the creator/director, Dallas Jenkins, and several members of the cast and crew.

Several million people, myself included, I fell in love with today's podcast guest around the same time - when a poem he wrote and published to his Facebook page went viral. It began, "my brain andheart divorceda decade agoover who wasto blame abouthow big of a messI have become.."  and we could all relate. 

This father of three and stand-up comic had turned to writing some years earlier to try and sort out the tsunami of anxious thoughts that threatened to overtake him and carry him out into a sea of defeat. It worked. Kind of. It's a work in progress. But there IS progress. For him. For me. For countless others who have discovered his work.

At the tender age of 9, Kelly Rowland formed a musical group with her friends that in a few year would be known the world-over as "Destiny's Child". That was in 1990, and Kelly is all grown up now with a successful solo career in music, fashion, acting, directing/producing, and recently, writing. Her children's book, "Always With You, Always With Me" was just released. 

She's also a loving partner to her husband, a doting mamma of two young boys, and active in numerous causes that aim to make life better for her community and the world.
