Welcome back to the Vikings Postgame Report. The Minnesota Vikings defeated the Green Bay Packers 39-22 on Sunday afternoon. Quarterback Kyler Murray opened the game for the Vikings but suffered an injury in the 1st quarter and quarterback Carson Wentz stepped in for the rest of the contest. The Vikings found themselves down 22-10 into the 3rd quarter, but that is when they went to work. The Vikings scored the final 29 points of the game, including rushing touchdowns by running backs Jordan Mason and Aaron Jones Sr. and receiving touchdowns by TE T.J. Hockenson and WR Justin Jefferson. Carson finished the game 12-of-19 for 133 yards passing and 3 touchdowns. Running back Jordan Mason led the team with 59 yards on the ground, including his 1 yd TD rush after a fumble recovery by LB Andrew Van Ginkel. Wide receiver Justin Jefferson led the team with 8 receptions for 92 yards and 2 touchdowns on the day. Justin tied wide receiver Randy Moss for #2 all time in receptions by a Viking receiver with 587 in his career. Kicker Will Reichard was perfect on the day with 1 field goal and 4 extra points converted. Defensively, the squad buckled down in the second half and forced some critical turnovers and stops that got the ball back to the offense which led to points. The team notched 4 sacks on the day, including DL Levi Drake Rodriguez, Edge Dallas Turner, .5 sack by LB Blake Cashman, and 1.5 sacks by LB Andrew Van Ginkel which included his forced fumble. CB James Pierre had the Vikings lone interception on the day in the 4th quarter, which led to another Vikings TD. Welcome back to the Vikings Postgame Report presented by Lumen - The trusted network of A.I. The Minnesota Vikings defeated the Green Bay Packers 16-3 at U.S. Bank Stadium to finish out their 2025 season. The Vikings closed out strong by hitting some milestones in the game and a couple of key members of the team received their flowers at the end of the game. Quarterbacks J.J. McCarthy and Max Brosmer both played for a half in the game, with McCarthy starting out the contest. J.J. finished the game 14-of-23 for 182 yards passing and added 7 yards on the ground. That pushed Justin over the 1,000 yard mark for the season and made him the 3rd player ever to finish that milestone in their first 6 seasons. Defensively, they once again pitched a touchdown shutout down the stretch, only giving up a single field goal with 0:01 second left in the game. The crew finished the game with 4 sacks, including Linebacker Dallas Turner with two, Safety Theo Jackson with one, and Linebacker Blake Cashman with the other. Linebacker Eric Wilson led the team with 9 tackles on the day. Both Harrison Smith and C.J. Ham got standing ovations as they walked off the field at the end of the game.
