- 290 - Danzig Threw Emmure's Singer Off The Stage, New Pepper Keenan Album Coming
Emmure frontman Frankie Palmeri says Glenn Danzig's security removed him from the side of the stage at Louder Than Life in Louisville and took his access pass, after he attempted to strike up a conversation while watching Pantera perform. Palmeri responded publicly and did not hold back.
Also on this episode: Pepper Keenan of Corrosion of Conformity and Down confirms he's working on the first solo album of his career — 36 years after joining COC — telling the We Wreck Records podcast he's "pulling out all the stops on this sucker," and revealing he's been saving songs for years waiting until he got older. Buried in the same story: Down will release a new studio album, Volume V, in November — their first full-length in over a decade, landing the same month they headline the Great NOLA Trendkill festival in New Orleans. And Gene Simmons will receive the Lifetime Achievement Award at the IEBA 2026 Honors & Awards Ceremony on October 6 at The Pinnacle Nashville, from the trade body representing 2,200 talent buyers, promoters and venue executives.

Ozzy & Black Sabbath: Back To The Beginning gets a worldwide theatrical release from October 28, documenting Ozzy Osbourne's final performance at Villa Park on July 5, 2025 — including the original Black Sabbath lineup's first show together in over twenty years, seventeen days before his death. Produced by Mercury Studios and distributed by Trafalgar Releasing, with tickets on sale September 24. Sharon Osbourne on how the show came about: "I asked Ozzy what would really make him happy. And he said the only thing that would make him happy was if he could perform again and say goodbye to his fans."

Thu, 17 Sep 2026 - 04min - 288 - Ellefson Plays Countdown, Zakk Sells BLS, Abbath Scrap 2026
David Ellefson has announced the December leg of his Bass Warrior European tour, and he'll be playing Megadeth's Countdown To Extinction in its entirety across twelve dates from December 3 to 19 — five days after Dave Mustaine's memoir excerpt claimed Ellefson's time in the band was finished regardless of the 2021 scandal. Ellefson has previously said of his 2010 return as a salaried player: "In order to have a friendship, I had to give up some ownership."
Also on this episode: MNRK Music Group have acquired the complete recorded catalogue of Black Label Society — eleven studio albums plus live releases, compilations, EPs and Zakk Wylde's solo material including Unblackened — with Wylde remaining actively involved in how the music is presented. And Abbath have cancelled all remaining 2026 shows, a month after a Finland festival set was scrapped during the opening song.

Wed, 16 Sep 2026 - 05min - 287 - Roth And Alex Van Halen Reunite, Alex Terrible Responds, New As I Lay Dying
David Lee Roth and Alex Van Halen have appeared together in public for the first time in years, sitting alongside muralist Robert Vargas at a TEDxFargo event about why great art requires risk. Roth called it "a step towards world peace"; Alex said the most important thing in art is to learn the basics and then break all the rules. It lands months after Alex told a Brazilian magazine that Sammy Hagar — who sang on four consecutive Van Halen number ones — is "a complete idiot," and after leaving him out of his memoir entirely.
Also on this episode: Slaughter To Prevail's Alex Terrible issues a detailed new statement denying the Nazism allegations that have followed his career, addressing his since-covered Black Sun tattoo and saying his own interpretation of a symbol "doesn't erase its history or what it represents to other people." And As I Lay Dying debut "Polarized" and "Retribution" — deliberately the two extremes of their ninth album, with twelve songs recorded, ten making the cut, and fans helping decide which two get dropped.

Tue, 15 Sep 2026 - 05min - 286 - Iommi Says No To A Sabbath Album, Nicko Says Yes To Maiden,Alex Terrible vs. Online Trolls
Tony Iommi has told Classic Rock that producer Andrew Watt — the man behind Ozzy Osbourne's final two solo albums — offered to record one more Black Sabbath album with the original lineup, Bill Ward included, and that he turned it down. Iommi said Watt was "a bit too excited" and didn't understand what working with the original band was like, adding that having already been through the 13 sessions with Rick Rubin he didn't want to go straight into another record.
Also on this episode: Nicko McBrain tells Metal Hammer he'd be "delighted" to drum on Iron Maiden's next album, three years after the mini-stroke that paralysed his left side and forced him to quietly rewrite the intro to "The Trooper" mid-tour. And Slaughter To Prevail's Alex Terrible writes several hundred words defending his right to hit back at online critics, says he understands Ronnie Radke better than most people, then deletes the whole thing within hours.

Mon, 14 Sep 2026 - 06min - 285 - Miss May I's Levi Benton On No Place For Me, Plus Autumn Kings' Jake Diab On Epiphanies
Miss May I frontman Levi Benton joins Scott Penfold on the Loaded Radio Podcast to talk about the band's eighth album No Place For Me, out October 2 via Solid State Records — a record he's described as everything he's felt for a long time but never had the words for. We get into where it came from, the decision to release five singles from a ten-track album, the entirely DIY video for "Death Threat," and nineteen years fronting a band from Troy, Ohio that outlasted most of the scene it came from. Plus the Perpetual Iron tour with Born of Osiris.
Also on the episode: Jake Diab of Autumn Kings on Epiphanies, out September 18 via Hopeless Records — their first label album after nine years fully independent. Jake talks about what Hopeless changed and what he refused to let them change, building a record around three songs that had already charted, getting Howard Jones on "yOunG BLoOds," meeting his bandmate at a grocery store in LaSalle, playing for US troops across Japan, South Korea and Guam, and what release day looks like when it lands mid-tour with Black Veil Brides.

Sun, 13 Sep 2026 - 40min - 284 - Mustaine On Ellefson, Mastodon Sued, New Suicide Silence
Rolling Stone has published an excerpt from Dave Mustaine's memoir In My Darkest Hour in which he writes that David Ellefson's time in Megadeth "was likely near" its end even before the 2021 leaked-video scandal that got him fired — reflecting on their 2004 lawsuit, Ellefson's 2010 return as a salaried player rather than a creative partner, and a friendship he says was built on shared addiction. For the record: the person Ellefson was involved with was nineteen, the grooming allegations made online were false, and Ellefson reported the unauthorised distribution of the footage to police himself.
Also on this episode: Suicide Silence announce their new album Graceless for November 20 via Century Media, produced by Austin Coupe and mixed by Hunter Young, arriving mid-way through a twenty-eight-date North American tour with Emmure, AngelMaker and Synestia — with founding guitarist Chris Garza back in the band. And the estate of the late Brent Hinds has filed a lawsuit against Mastodon in Fulton County, alleging his ownership stake in the band was never properly bought out, that an $80,000 cheque came with no accounting behind it, and that his likeness was used on the artwork and promotion for Marrow Deep after his death.

Soundgarden reunited at halftime of the Seahawks–Patriots game at Lumen Field with Taylor Momsen on vocals and Pearl Jam's Mike McCready on guitar, playing a medley including "Outshined" and "Spoonman" — and NBC aired little to none of it, sending fans straight to social media. Their final album featuring Chris Cornell's last recordings is currently in post-production.
Also on this episode: AC/DC's September 16 show at Toronto's Rogers Stadium has been cancelled outright after a storm the venue's own meteorologist called a hundred-year event, with damaged sections needing to be removed and rebuilt before next summer. And AEW paid a tearful tribute to Andy Williams on Dynamite, with announcer Excalibur quoting Every Time I Die lyrics on air, a ten-bell salute, a full tribute planned for Saturday's Collision, and a public celebration of his life announced for September 27 in Buffalo.

Mon, 31 Aug 2026 - 05min - 275 - Eric Vanlerberghe of I Prevail on Carrying the Band Alone, "Paradise" and What Comes Next
I Prevail frontman Eric Vanlerberghe joins Scott Penfold on the Loaded Radio Podcast.
In May 2025, I Prevail lost the clean-vocal half of their identity when Brian Burkheiser stepped away following an Eagle syndrome diagnosis. Nine days later they lost Dave Shapiro, the agent who built their career, in the San Diego plane crash. Four months after that they released Violent Nature — the heaviest record of their career, with Eric singing every note on it.
We get into what that actually cost him: rebuilding his voice to carry both screams and cleans, surviving a full album cycle doing two jobs a night, and what changed when producer Jon Eberhard joined the band on bass. Plus the story behind "Paradise," the surprise single with Amira Elfeky written on a tour bus in Europe that the band admit they still can't quite categorise — and what's coming after it.
Also: Black Vault Gaming, the retro game and trading card shop he runs in St. Clair Shores, Michigan, and how a man decompresses from a job that now demands his entire voice every night.

Mon, 17 Aug 2026 - 04min - 264 - Logan Burns of Scarlett O'Hara on the Industrial Turn, Rise Records, and the Years the Band Didn't Exist
Scarlett O'Hara guitarist and founding member Logan Burns joins Scott Penfold on the Loaded Radio Podcast.
The South Texas metalcore band have spent 2026 releasing three singles — REDRUM, BREAK ME and COMMON SIDE EFFECTS — each pushing further into cyberpunk-industrial territory than anything in their catalogue. We get into where that turn came from, how far it can go before it stops sounding like Scarlett O'Hara, and why nostalgia is the last thing on this band's mind eighteen years in.
We also go back to the beginning: getting signed to Rise Records out of high school in McAllen, Texas, making Lost In Existence with Joey Sturgis, the deal ending, the band ending, and the six or seven years in between before they regrouped and put a self-released record on three Billboard charts with no label behind it.

Monday, August 10, 2026. Gene Simmons and Paul Stanley take the mound at Angel Stadium this Saturday for a Kiss-themed night in Anaheim. Bruce Dickinson's eighth solo album lands in early 2027 on BMG — recorded live at Dave Grohl's Studio 606, standalone from "The Mandrake Project," and by his own description, seriously heavy. And Nikki Sixx says he no longer believes in making full-length records, which means the wait for a new Mötley Crüe album may be permanent.

Mon, 10 Aug 2026 - 04min - 258 - Caleb Shomo of Beartooth on Pure Ecstasy, Jordan Fish, and Finally Being Himself | Plus Fresh Meat: Waking The Sleeper
Beartooth frontman Caleb Shomo joins Scott Penfold on the Loaded Radio Podcast to talk about Pure Ecstasy, the band's sixth album, out August 28 on Fearless Records.
After fourteen years of writing, playing and producing Beartooth records almost entirely by himself, Shomo let somebody else in — co-producer Jordan Fish, a title track born out of a session with Misha Mansoor of Periphery, and drummer Connor Denis behind the kit. We get into the reaction to "Free," the AI mess that nearly killed the "Bullshit" lyric video, the Pure Ecstasy world tour, and the year that changed what a Beartooth record can be about.
Then in this week's Fresh Meat, Raven Le Rouge of Wichita metal band Waking The Sleeper on building a band in Kansas, the Frequencies concept record, and what's next.

Sun, 09 Aug 2026 - 46min - 257 - Kelly Osbourne And Sid Wilson End Engagement | Mercyful Fate Announce First Show In Three Years | Music Journalism Takes A Hit
People magazine reports that Kelly Osbourne and Sid Wilson have ended their engagement — Scott Penfold explains why this isn't new, why it isn't connected to the Slipknot situation no matter how the timing looks, and what's actually changed this week.
Plus Mercyful Fate announce their first live show in over three years, headed to Leyendas Del Rock in Spain in August 2027 with King Diamond, Hank Shermann, Mike Wead, Bjarne T. Holm and Becky Baldwin — and their long-awaited album still hasn't surfaced.
And a harder one to close on: Veeps and Live Nation have gutted Revolver, Alternative Press, BrooklynVegan and Goldmine, with allegations now surfacing from a former employee about workplace treatment. A word about the people who write the things you read, and what it costs when they're gone.
Fri, 07 Aug 2026 - 05min - 256 - Nikki Sixx Says You Were Lied To | Anthrax Drop Everybody's Got A Plan | The Neil Peart Documentary
Nikki Sixx answered a fan asking why Mötley Crüe use backing tracks — and traced the whole practice back to Queen and "Bohemian Rhapsody" in 1975. Scott Penfold breaks down the distinction everybody argues past: the difference between augmenting a live show and replacing one, and the one piece of evidence John 5 offered that actually holds up.
Plus Anthrax release the video for "Everybody's Got A Plan," the third single from Cursum Perficio — their first album in ten years, out September 18, recorded at Dave Grohl's Studio 606. And the Latin title translates to something worth thinking about.
And a new documentary, "Neil Peart: No One's Disciple," debuts on CBC September 23, featuring Geddy Lee and Alex Lifeson performing Rush songs with Chad Smith, Stewart Copeland and Danny Carey filling Peart's seat.
Thu, 06 Aug 2026 - 05min - 255 - Glenn Hughes Retires From The Stage And Faces Heart Surgery | Linkin Park's Unshatter | Tool's Drummer Clears His Autumn
On Saturday night in Rancho Mirage, Glenn Hughes sang four Deep Purple songs with Kings Of Chaos, including "Stormbringer." Nobody in that room knew what they were watching.
The Deep Purple, Trapeze, Black Sabbath and Black Country Communion legend has announced his retirement from touring and live performances, revealing he needs another open-heart surgery. Scott Penfold looks at the career, and at the interview from twelve months ago where Hughes told Eddie Trunk that retirement wasn't a word he used — that he'd come home from a European run reinvigorated, with new purpose, and had never felt so strong.
Plus Linkin Park announce Unshatter, a documentary opening in theatres September 30 and directed by DJ and creative director Joe Hahn. It covers the seven years between Chester Bennington's death in 2017 and the band's 2024 return with Emily Armstrong and Colin Brittain, running from 2022 studio sessions through the From Zero launch show in São Paulo. Mike Shinoda on what it isn't: "don't think reality TV." A companion live album recorded in São Paulo arrives alongside it.
And Danny Carey has dropped off BEAT's fall tour with Tony Levin citing his Tool commitments — which is interesting, because Tool have exactly two shows on the books. The arithmetic, the case for optimism, and the reason Maynard James Keenan would tell you to calm down.

Wed, 05 Aug 2026 - 05min - 254 - Slipknot Had Sid Wilson's Exit Announcement Ready | Tobias Forge Directs Horror | Chris Holmes Needs Help
The detail almost everyone skipped: Slipknot were planning to announce Sid Wilson's departure themselves this week, and lost control of it when the story broke early. Scott Penfold explains why that one line makes four days of cryptic posts and total silence suddenly make sense — and why the two Sid Wilson stories that broke over the same weekend are separate, no matter what the internet has already decided.
Plus: the V/H/S horror anthology returns with V/H/S/MIXTAPE, a music-driven installment landing October 9 on Shudder. Ghost frontman Tobias Forge directed a music video for it, GWAR appear, and RZA, Ernest Dickerson, David Moreau and Renee Zhan also direct, with interludes from Flying Lotus.
And former W.A.S.P. guitarist Chris Holmes has gone public about a prostate cancer diagnosis and the administrative error that's left him twenty thousand euros in medical debt in France. He says it's curable. He's three weeks into radiotherapy with five to go. It lands days after Blackie Lawless spoke about him on the Loaded Radio Podcast — calling him an incredible performer and acknowledging the chemistry they had in the early days of W.A.S.P.

Tue, 04 Aug 2026 - 05min - 253 - Slipknot Still Silent On Sid Wilson | Ozzfest Returns To Villa Park | Megadeth Announce European Farewell Tour
Four days on, and Slipknot still haven't said a word about Sid Wilson.
Scott Penfold breaks down where the story actually stands: the single anonymous TMZ source it all rests on, Jim Root telling fans to stop and think — and the song he chose to play underneath it — Mick Thomson's wife Stacy openly mocking the rumour mill, Sid's only post being a merch ad, and the Los Angeles studio doorstep where he was asked point blank and said nothing.
Plus Sharon Osbourne confirms a film of Back To The Beginning arrives this year featuring every band who played, and Ozzfest returns in 2027 at Villa Park in Birmingham — which quietly inverts what Ozzfest has been for thirty years.
And Megadeth announce Breakout: Hibernation Of The Nations, a 24-date European arena farewell opening March 9, 2027 in Belfast and closing April 13 in Lisbon, with Black Label Society and Testament on the entire run. Off the back of the first number one album of their career — on the seventeenth and final record.

Selected material from the 1984 self-titled debut, The Last Command, Inside The Electric Circus and The Headless Children, with a stage production built to bring the album covers to life. Blackie has called it the first and only time the band will do this.
He also gives an update on the next W.A.S.P. studio album, which would be their first since 2015's Golgotha, and on the biography he's been researching and writing for years. And he addresses how he views former guitarists Chris Holmes and Randy Piper today.
W.A.S.P. is Blackie Lawless (vocals, guitar), Doug Blair (guitar), Mike Duda (bass) and Aquiles Priester (drums). Tickets and VIP packages at waspnation.com.

On today's episode of The Metal Breakdown Daily, host Scott Penfold discusses an incredibly raw, unfiltered look into the personal life of one of metal's biggest frontmen.
Slipknot vocalist Corey Taylor has opened up about his intense mental health journey, revealing it took the coordinated efforts of three therapists working simultaneously to help him look at past mistakes and rebuild his life. Appearing on a recent podcast, Taylor shared that three years ago, deep-seated insecurities left him hating who he was and hurting those closest to him. He credits his wife, Alicia, for standing by him and inspiring him to re-evaluate what true success means outside of music.
Plus, New York death metal pioneers Suffocation have officially locked in a massive European tour run for this coming October. The band will be bringing an absolute powerhouse of a package across the Atlantic, featuring support from Ingested, Undeath, and Eternal. We break down the full list of dates, venues, and routing.

Wed, 08 Jul 2026 - 04min - 231 - Official Black Sabbath Ozzy Book Announced, Megadeth Lisbon Festival Riot, Brent Hinds Memorial Unveiled
On today's episode of The Metal Breakdown Daily, host Scott Penfold breaks down a massive day of rock history, last-minute festival chaos, and a poignant heavy metal tribute.
We start with the highly anticipated announcement of 'The Masters Of Reality', a massive 500-page officially backed Black Sabbath book arriving this October through Rufus Publishing. Overseen by legendary rock photographer Ross Halfin, the project chronicles the band's iconic Ozzy Osbourne-fronted eras up to their historic 'Back To The Beginning' farewell concert. Halfin reveals that production began two years ago with the full blessing and signed participation of the late heavy metal icon Ozzy Osbourne before his sudden passing in 2025.
Plus, absolute chaos erupted in Lisbon, Portugal, over the weekend after Megadeth was forced to pull the plug on their headlining appearance at the EvilLive festival due to catastrophic "technical issues." We look at eyewitness accounts of frantic road crews running through the crowd with flashlights, leading to a near-riot as furious fans chanted for refunds and pelted the stage with projectiles.
Finally, we head to Atlanta, Georgia, where a brand-new street memorial has been officially unveiled at the intersection of Memorial Drive and Boulevard SE. Erected at the site of late Mastodon guitarist Brent Hinds' tragic 2025 motorcycle crash, the moving tribute serves a dual purpose as a critical road safety warning urging drivers to look twice for motorcyclists.

On today's episode of The Metal Breakdown Daily, host Scott Penfold unpacks a massive weekend of rock and heavy metal news, starting with a patriotic firestorm surrounding the Red Rocker himself.
Sammy Hagar is aggressively defending his involvement in the "Freedom 250" 4th of July celebration in Washington, D.C.. After severe thunderstorms completely washed out the musical portion of the event, fans flooded social media with outrage over Hagar's connection to an event featuring President Donald Trump. Hagar fired back, insisting the show was entirely non-political, and shared the handwritten unity speech he was practicing to deliver right before launching into Van Halen's "Right Now".
Plus, we look at the historic "Back To The Beginning" photography exhibition that just launched in Birmingham. Celebrating the one-year anniversary of Black Sabbath's final homecoming set, the massive display features legendary shots of the band alongside Metallica, Guns N' Roses, Slayer, and Pantera, following Ozzy Osbourne's passing in July 2025.
Finally, Megadeth mastermind Dave Mustaine drops cryptic breadcrumbs about an "out of this world" July announcement. On today's edition of the Loaded Radio Daily Breakdown, host Scott Penfold brings his 25-year rock radio personality to the mic to unpack an absolutely massive day of rock and metal news across the global grid.
First up, Australian metalcore titans Parkway Drive are throwing it back to their absolute foundational roots. The band has officially confirmed their "Killing Horizons Tour" hitting Australia this August. Instead of standard tour packages, they are setting up specialized, intimate two-night residencies across five major cities—with Night 1 dedicated to playing their 2005 debut album "Killing With A Smile" in its entirety, and Night 2 running through their 2007 breakthrough masterpiece "Horizons" from front to back. We look at the tour routing, dates, and ticket pre-sale windows.
Then, we revisit the ongoing fallout surrounding Iron Maiden's catastrophic Paris stadium blackout at the La Défense Arena. We have new official statements from frontman Bruce Dickinson and manager Rod Smallwood regarding the intense 44°C heatwave conditions inside the venue when the AC failed, the strict local police transit curfews that forced the band to drop their three-song encore, and how French electricity distributor Enedis is responding to investigations into the arena's internal power grid failure.
Finally, glam metal legends Twisted Sister have officially expanded their highly anticipated 2026 reunion tour schedule, adding three massive fall dates across Indiana, West Virginia, and Florida. We track the updated schedule and discuss the vocal substitution of Skid Row icon Sebastian Bach stepping in for Dee Snider with his full, explicit blessing.

Wed, 24 Jun 2026 - 06min - 228 - IRON MAIDEN Paris Blackout Disaster + Deftones Eros Album Leak & Bad Wolves Lineup Reboot
On today's edition of the Loaded Radio Daily Breakdown, host Scott Penfold brings his 25-year rock radio personality to the mic to unpack the absolute wildest 48 hours of stadium chaos, internet data breaches, and industry reboots.
First up, we break down the absolute disaster that struck Iron Maiden's June 22 concert at the La Défense Arena in Paris, France. Mid-song, a massive city-wide power outage plunged Europe's largest indoor venue into pitch-black darkness. We talk about the hour-long blackout, how it derailed their highly anticipated "Run For Your Lives" tour film shoot, and the strict city curfews that forced Bruce Dickinson to cut the night short—costing fans a three-song encore block of "Aces High", "Fear Of The Dark", and "Wasted Years".
Then, we dive into the online chaos surrounding Deftones. A massive cache of long-shelved material has leaked across underground message boards, including 11 tracks from the mythical 2008 album 'Eros'—featuring the final bass lines of the late Chi Cheng—alongside raw demo sessions from 2020's 'Ohms' and an unreleased song titled "Sensations". We look at the emotional weight of the leak, the ethics of streaming it against Chino Moreno's wishes, and the "Copyright Sheriff" sweeping the files off YouTube.
Finally, we track the massive changes happening inside Bad Wolves. Following a rolling member exodus, founding drummer John Boecklin has completely rebuilt the band from scratch—even turning down a massive seven-figure bid from ex-vocalist Tommy Vext to buy the rights to the name. With a major reveal locked in for next Monday, June 29th, we break down the heavy rumors placing Sara "Killboy" Skinner on vocals and Animals As Leaders' Javier Reyes on guitar, plus updates on where the rest of the former members have landed.

Tue, 23 Jun 2026 - 07min - 227 - IRON MAIDEN Paris Phone Ban + Anthrax's Benante Sidelined & Ozzy's Final Throne Display
On today's episode of the Loaded Radio Daily Breakdown, host Scott Penfold delivers a high-octane, laid-back look at the absolute biggest stories trending across the hard rock and metal grids over the last 48 hours.
First up, we unpack the massive operational news coming out of France tonight. Iron Maiden is taking over the La Défense Arena in Paris to professionally film their upcoming "Run For Your Lives" world tour concert movie. The catch? Management is enforcing a strict phone-free General Admission floor using lockable Yondr pouches. We break down the logistics, the fan reaction, and what this means for the future of stadium rock etiquette.
Next, we look at a major shake-up on the European festival circuit. Anthrax and Pantera drum titan Charlie Benante has been sidelined by a right-hand injury. Following strict doctor's orders to rest from June 20 to July 4, Charlie will sit out massive summer milestones including Hellfest, Copenhell, and select dates supporting Iron Maiden. We talk about his phenomenal UK fill-in Darby Todd (Devin Townsend, Robert Plant) and map out Charlie's scheduled return date in Lisbon.
Finally, we head to Birmingham to mark an incredibly poignant milestone. As the metal world approaches the one-year anniversary of the Prince of Darkness' passing, Ozzy Osbourne's iconic, bat-winged gothic throne is heading to the Birmingham Museum & Art Gallery. Synced with the massively successful "Working Class Hero" exhibition, we look back at the history of the throne—built for his 2024 Hall of Fame induction and last seen on stage at Black Sabbath's legendary final "Back To The Beginning" farewell concert at Villa Park on July 5, 2025.

Tue, 02 Jun 2026 - 04min - 210 - Chaos in D.C.": Why Bret Michaels Just Quit Donald Trump's Event + Former Puddle of Mudd Members Launch Savage Revenge Band
Rock, metal, and high-stakes political drama collide on today's episode of the Metal Breakdown Daily with host Scott Penfold. We are breaking down the three biggest stories tearing through the heavy music community right now.
In This Episode:
The Poison / Freedom 250 Backlash: Poison frontman Bret Michaels shocked fans over the weekend by pulling out of Donald Trump's upcoming multi-day "Freedom 250" event in Washington, D.C. Michaels cited "unforgivable threats" against his family and crew, triggering an absolute war zone in his social media comments. We look at the massive fan pushback and why Poison bandmate Rikki Rockett had to step into the ring to fiercely defend his frontman.
The Ultimate Revenge Cover Band: Puddle of Mudd is famous for its insane member turnover rate (Wikipedia lists 18 former members), largely due to Wes Scantlin's decades of erratic behavior. Now, two long-term former touring members, Matt Fuller and Dave Moreno, have joined forces to launch a tribute band called X-Mudds. Fronted by a Nirvana tribute vocalist, they are hitting the road this summer to play the songs they powered for ten years—without any of the frontman drama.
Six Feet Under's New Brutalizer: Death metal icons Six Feet Under have parted ways with drummer Marco Pitruzzella and officially welcomed Ruston Grosse (ex-Master) behind the kit. Grosse is jumping straight into the fire, hitting massive European festivals like Hellfest, Graspop, and Copenhell this week before the band launches a massive North American co-headlining run with Kataklysm this fall.

Today on the Metal Breakdown, we look at the legacy of a legend as Iron Maiden drummer Nicko McBrain prepares to tell his full story. Following his emotional 2024 retirement, Harper Nonfiction has announced the release of Nicko's autobiography, "Hello Boys And Girls!" Next, we head to Sin City where Gene Simmons is launching a rock-and-roll takeover. The "Legends Of Rock Expo" is coming to Westgate Las Vegas this September, and the lineup is a "Who's Who" of rock royalty.
