Hello and welcome to ETUFC

The topic of todays show is Baz Luhrmanns latest offering to the Elvis world,

The Movie EP in concert or EPiC for short.

The movie had its world premier at TIFF on Saturday Sept 6th to rave reviews.

One of the lucky audience members that evening was Elvis fan Derek Dresser and I’m delighted to say Derek joins me on the show to tell us all about that special evening

Creative Workshop is an historic recording studio founded in 1970 by songwriter and producer Buzz Cason.

It was the very first recording studio established in Nashville’s Berry Hill district and was one of the first independently owned studios built in all of Nashville.

Berry Hill is now home to nearly 40 recording studios.

The Studio was originally built as a place for Cason to develop and produce new artists. He and his engineer Travis Turk wasted no time doing this.  Before the paint could even dry on the walls they were in the studio tracking a young songwriter from Mobile named Jimmy Buffett.

When Travis left, Brent Maher became the new chief engineer and oversaw the building of a brand new, state-of-the-art control room and renovation to the live tracking room in 1976.

Shortly after,in 1977,Elvis Presley was booked in to Creative for a week long

Recording session, beginning Thursday January 20th.

However, things didn’t quite go to plan.

I’m delighted to say Brent joins me on the show today to share his memories of that time with us

Matt Stone is One of Graceland's Top Ten Elvis Tribute Artists in the world,

The 19-year-old Florida native is taking the industry by storm!

With Matt’s  remarkable voice, and fiery stage presence, he has earned the adoration of fans all across the country!

I’m delighted to say Matt joins me on today's show to discuss how he was bitten by the Elvis bug and how it led him to become a successful Elvis tribute artist.

In the new fully illustrated book, An A to Z of Elvis: Infrequently Asked Questions, Joe Shooman explores the far-flung corners of Elvisology to dig out some of the more out-there theories and beliefs about the legendary singer; including that Elvis faked his own death and has been working for the FBI ever since, Elvis is alive and well, preaching the gospel in Arkansas, and in actual fact, Elvis is Welsh. Released on 23rd March 2021 to commemorate the 65th anniversary of Elvis’ first album release, Elvis Presley - Rock and Roll, An A to Z of Elvis is a book that shines a spotlight on some of the most controversial and contradictory ‘facts’ floating around about The King, and in doing so investigates how these proclamations hold up to scrutiny.

Beautifully illustrated by Gary McGarvey aka Horse, the founder of Screenadelica, this isn’t just a book, it’s a work of art. An A to Z of Elvis is Shooman’s ninth book and will be available from Amazon and all good book stores. In this episode I speak to Sally Hoedel author of the new book Elvis Destined To Die Young.

The book is the definitive examination of why the world lost Elvis Presley on August 16, 1977, when he was only forty-two years old.

Sally has painstakingly researched the subject and offers factual and scientific data—plus never-before-published information she gained by interviewing people who personally knew Elvis—to support her claim that Elvis Presley was never going to live a long life.

She examines Elvis Presley—a son, husband, father, and devoted friend—while ploughing through the negative hype and legendary myths surrounding the man. Elvis’ downward spiral of health struggles is presented and, for the first time ever, it is revealed that he suffered from disease in nine of eleven bodily systems, five of which were present from birth. This book dispels the long-held theory that abuse of prescription drugs is what killed Elvis.

Destined To Die Young is published on December 14th and can be pre-ordered at
