  • 1577 - What Should the Giants Do About Tyrone Tracy Jr.? | Trade or Keep?

Tyrone Tracy Jr. played two snaps for the Giants against Dallas, fumbled on the second one, and did not touch the ball again. Then he got sent home Wednesday with what John Harbaugh called a bad flu, while Najee Harris keeps ramping toward his Giants debut. This episode is about what the Giants should do with the running back who led the team in rushing as a rookie. The number is seven. Tracy has seven fumbles in 33 regular season games since 2024 per Pro Football Reference, and the Week 1 one came on the drive that would have put Dallas away before halftime. Harbaugh said four balls on the ground is not even close to acceptable. Tiki Barber went on the record this week with the fix. The room is the problem. Cam Skattebo played 41 snaps and ran 18 times for 81 and a touchdown. Devin Singletary ran 18 routes and caught the other touchdown. Najee Harris, four straight 1,000-yard seasons before the Achilles, is on a one-year deal with nothing guaranteed and Harbaugh says the call on Monday night comes by the end of the week. The Giants dress three running backs. Harris makes three without Tracy. The money is on screen, per Over The Cap: Tracy is $1.15 million this year and signed through 2027, and trading him saves the same $1 million as cutting him, which means a trade is free value and a cut is throwing it away. The keep case is real too. He fumbled once all of last season and he is the only insurance if Skattebo goes down.

  • 1576 - 🚨 NY Giants Injury Report | Banks & Adebo Sidelined | Malik Nabers "Rusty"

Giants Week 2 injury report and the cornerback room is the whole story. Paulson Adebo and Deonte Banks were both out of Thursday's practice. Greg Newsome II was on the field. The Giants play the Rams on Monday night at SoFi against Puka Nacua and Davante Adams. The Adebo situation is four things happening at once. He played nine defensive snaps in Week 1 on a $24.2 million cap hit. Joey Porter Jr. trade talk has had the Giants named as a team to watch all week. New York signed cornerback Jaden Robinson to the practice squad on Wednesday, a six foot corner out of Oregon State whose position coach in Denver, Addison Lynch, is now the Giants defensive backs coach. And Adebo has now missed back to back practices. Any one of those is nothing. Together they are worth talking about. Per Over The Cap, cutting him costs more than keeping him, so a trade is the only clean exit. Banks was sidelined by cramps in the second half against Dallas and was seen Wednesday with a sleeve on his right lower leg. If he and Adebo cannot go, the room is Newsome, Dru Phillips, rookie Colton Hood and possibly an elevation. Better news at receiver. Malik Nabers called himself a little sore and manageable, said he was rusty, and said he left probably two touchdowns on the field. He did that on 36 snaps, 52 percent, with 24 routes and nine targets.
