We are going to dissect the life and crimes of transient serial killer, Samuel Little. In between the years 1970-2005, this man ravaged women and tore apart families. We are going to take a look at his early life and try and document his many travels and we will end part one with the attack of an unmatched victim in 1984, and then continue on in part two until we talk about his final arrest. Unfortunately, he chose victims who were 'less dead' and whom police and much of the public frankly didn't care about. But they mattered, their stories and their presence here on earth mattered. 4 year old Charley Ross and his 6 year old brother Walter had been playing in front of their home on a hot July morning in Germantown, Philadelphia, when they were approached by a horse and buggy driven by two strange men. The men offered them candy, and then came back the next day, and the next, slowly building the boys' trust in them before abducting little Charley. As I say repeatedly in this case, there are so many questions in this case and I definitely feel like I have more questions than answers. Melissa Sue Platt was a bright shining soul in her family’s life. Her and her sister, Michelle, were two peas in a pod, and basically twins. Until one day, their mom tried to get ahold of Melissa, and couldn’t. Finally, Melissa’s boyfriend at the time (who had a long history of domestic abuse) cut her family off completely and unplugged the answering machine. A welfare check on Melissa, turned into a gruesome rescue when officers found her alone, bruised, bleeding with a broken jaw and unresponsive. She was naked, wrapped in a blanket and had been there between 6-11 days. The explanation? She “fell in the bathroom,” then “she fell on the porch outside.” Neither one made sense, however, no charges had ever been filed. But the tides may be turning in the family’s favor, as after over a decade of hard work and endurance, they’re finally close to getting answers and getting justice for Melissa. Today, I am sharing part 1 of a 3-part series of South Carolina serial killer Donald Gaskins. Donald Henry Gaskins went by many nicknames in the media when he was arrested in December of 1975. Some of them were Junior Parrott, The Redneck Charles Manson, the Meanest Man in America, and Pee Wee. This small statured man barely 5 feet 5 inches tall and 130 lbs., struck fear into the hearts of those living in South Carolina in the 1970s and 1980s. Donald Gaskins is definitely a case that it is hard to decipher in the nature versus nurture argument in what makes a serial killer. After this case, I want to know what you think. Karen Bodine was discovered dead alongside the road on January 22, 2007, in the morning next to a rock quarry in Rochester, Washington. It's been 15 years and the Thurston County police still haven't named a person of interest, and (what makes it more aggravating for the Bodine family) they have the DNA samples of 3 separate individuals in their possession but haven't tested it yet! Karen was an amazing daughter and mother, and her story seems to have been glossed over or downright skipped all together because of how she spent the last two days of her life, through no fault of her own. 24-year-old geologist Daniel Robinson vanished from his worksite in Buckeye, Arizona. His car was later found overturned in a desert ravine, but that didn’t provide any more clues as to where he might have gone. Police aren’t thinking foul play as of now, BUT family and friends of Daniel aren’t convinced, and I 100% can see why. Some details just aren’t adding up.
