  • 17 - TRAKKER TALK EP.17 | I've Caught Over 50 Different 70LB Carp | Dave Moore

Over 50 different carp over 70lb. 13 countries. And this time, Dave Moore takes us into the part of his angling that has taken him furthest from home… European carp fishing. Welcome back to Trakker Talk and the third and final part of our in-depth conversation with one of the most experienced big-fish anglers in the UK. In this episode, Dave takes us behind the scenes of the European fishing that has defined a huge part of his angling life — from his first trip to Euro Aqua in Hungary, discovering just how unprepared he was for the calibre of fish in front of him, to the development of the big-bait approach that would go on to produce some incredible results. We talk about catching multiple 70s and 80s, fishing heavily pressured venues, huge public lakes, difficult German waters, and why Dave believes that big bait can be the key to big carp, particularly when fishing unfamiliar European venues. But there is far more to European carp fishing than just big fish. Dave talks about the places that have given him the greatest sense of adventure, the people he has met along the way, travelling across Europe year after year, fishing venues including Euro Aqua, Zarki, Shumba, Lake Balaton and Lac du Orient, and exploring countries such as Hungary, France, Germany, Austria, Bosnia and Croatia. We also get into: 🎣 How Dave first discovered European big-fish fishing 🎣 His first experiences at Euro Aqua 🎣 The mistakes he made on his first trips — and what he changed 🎣 The development of the bait that became Optimum🎣 Why he relies so heavily on big baits and stiff rigs🎣 Fishing huge public lakes and finding carp in vast expanses of water🎣 Some of his biggest European catches, including multiple 80lb+ fish 🎣 The effect of fish kills and disease on major European carp waters 🎣 Why European carp fisheries can produce fish on a completely different scale 🎣 The changing landscape of European carp fishing 🎣 Why Austria could become Dave's next major chapter in angling 🎣 His plans for new waters and countries 🎣 The difference between fishing for big carp and fishing for adventure 🎣 And the one piece of advice Dave believes can genuinely change your angling…   “Never accept that there’s always one answer. There’s always other options available.”   After three episodes with Dave Moore, there is still the feeling that we've barely scratched the surface. If you're interested in European carp fishing, big carp tactics, public lake fishing, big-bait fishing, Euro trips or the pursuit of truly huge carp, this is an episode you won't want to miss.   WATCH PART 1: Dave Moore – UK CARP FISHING https://youtu.be/ntkoE7qoilw?si=jBs0GNY99kVV99Nk WATCH PART 2: Dave Moore –BAIT SECRETS https://youtu.be/DNzdCS-4l54?si=JFEtyjNKHUXzPNBb   🎙️ TRAKKER TALK A carp fishing podcast from Trakker, bringing you conversations with some of the most interesting anglers, personalities and minds in carp fishing.
