- 535 - A Deadly Fred West Obsession : Episode 483
The story this week is from South Wales and is as shocking a story as I have ever brought to you on the UK True Crime Podcast. It is hard to comprehend that in the small town of Maesteg, lived a man with an obsession for the crimes of Fred & Rose West and fantasised about travelling the county abducting, assaulting and murdering innocent women. In this episode, we hear how this fantasy become a terrifying reality.

Tue, 10 Feb 2026 - 26min - 534 - The Murder of Vicky Hall & Sentencing of Steve Wright : Episode 482
In this special episode, I revisit the murder of Vicky Hall in Felixstowe in 1999.
Today, serial killer Steve Wright was sentenced for Vicky’s murder, his sixth known killing. I break down the developments from court at the sentencing hearing, reflect on the police investigation and its unanswered questions, explore why Wright may have chosen to confess after so many years, and consider what this case means for the possibility of further undiscovered victims.

One of these is Mark, the co-host of the Seeing Red podcast and he is someone I always find myself chatting to at the bar late into the night at any event. He is always so generous with his knowledge and insights and is such a wonderful person and great company.
Mark has a brand new podcast launching today, Dead Famous. Here is the first episode of Mark's brand new podcast about the death of Caroline Flack. Please do take a listen and let me know your thoughts...

Mon, 12 Jan 2026 - 1h 00min - 527 - Bonus Episode: True Crime Catch Up - The Murder of John Lennon
You may have listened to the 'True Crime Round Up' this year, where me and Stuart, host of the British Murders Podcast, talked about all things true crime once a month. Well, due to the popularity of this show we now release it every Wednesday on a separate feed and it is called the 'True Crime Catch Up'. You can listen every week on the usual podcast apps or you can watch us on YouTube. The link below will take you to Spotify, Apply and YouTube and if you enjoy the show, please do follow us there so we can continue to grow the show.
This week, we look at the shocking 1980 murder of John Lennon in New York which shocked the world. What followed raised uncomfortable questions that continue to surface after acts of extreme violence.
In this podcast, we examine the murder and the intense focus placed on The Catcher in the Rye, the book carried by his killer, Mark David Chapman. We explore how quickly media attention shifted from the crime itself to the idea that books, films, and popular culture can influence real-world violence, and whether that connection stands up to scrutiny.

The Ultimate Traitor explores the chilling true story of Robert Hendy-Freegard — the conman who posed as an MI5 agent and manipulated his victims through fear, loyalty and lies. A real-life game of trust and betrayal that echoes The Traitors, this episode examines how deception became a weapon — and how ordinary people were drawn into his control, with so many lives destroyed.
In the end he was just a Traitor, playing a game that nobody agreed to play.

Tue, 06 Jan 2026 - 32min - 525 - Revisited - A Naval Disappearance
Today I am re-releasing an episode I recorded in 2019 about Allan Grimson, a totally depraved excuse for a man who murdered at least two Royal Navy Sailors and it is speculated, up to as many as twenty others. The reason I have re-released this episode for you today, is because as you may have heard, the police announced last week that they have ended the investigation into the disappearance of Simon Parkes in Gibraltar - a man widely thought to have been another of Grimson's victims.
I don't think this story is widely enough known and so wanted to release it again as a tribute to the two men who were killed by Grimson - Nicholas Wright and Sion Jenkins - and to raise awareness in the hope that Simon's devastated family and friends can finally discover what happened to him.

Fri, 02 Jan 2026 - 43min - 524 - Under The Radar : Episode 476
The story from this week looks at a massive seizure of heroin and cocaine from a gang based in the north-west of England and rural north Wales. But what hit me is there is none of the drama we see in crime programmes on the television - it is a story of four men quietly going about their business under the radar, making money for themselves and causing untold misery in the communities where we all live. Depending on your view of the failure - or otherwise - of the so-called 'War on Drugs' then this story is either of real significance, or it doesn't really matter....

Tue, 18 Feb 2025 - 27min - 456 - The Devil's Disciple: Episode 430
This episode comes from Coventry where thirty year old Thomas Coleman was taking a horticultural course to get the experience needed for a permanent job. There he met a man ten years his junior, Robert Green who was on the same course. The pair struck up a friendship of sorts, although the two men were markedly different people. For instance, Robert Green sported a satanic symbol tattooed across his forehead whilst Thomas Coleman placed great faith in his Christian beliefs – as you can see, not the most obvious of friends.
When Green believed the Devil had told him to make a human sacrifice, the man he chose to attack was his quiet and gentle work colleague, Thomas Coleman.

Wed, 05 Feb 2025 - 30min - 454 - An Entitled Man: Episode 429
It was 9.50 am when paramedics rushed to Queenswood Avenue in Bournemouth after a 999 call from Anita Turner. In a calm tone, she had told the call handler: “My son’s friend is staying with us. This morning I tried to wake both of them up but the girl didn’t wake up. I can’t wake her up.” The ‘friend’ she was referring to was her son’s girlfriend of the past few months, seventeen-year-old Emily Longley. Why had a seemingly fit and healthy Emily died that night?
In this episode, we discover once again, how families are not always what they seem, and secrets are held within the four walls.

Tue, 24 Dec 2024 - 31min - 445 - The Predator DJ: Episode 422
Essex Police was the police force that first realised that a serial sexual attacker was on the loose following three attacks in the Southend area. But as the number of attacks in other locations continued to increase, the inquiry became nationwide and was managed by the Met. By the time they made an appeal on Crimewatch, at least 22 attacks by just one man had been reported - in addition to all the others of which the police were unaware.
One man watching Crimewatch that evening from his home in Cornwall was certain that the culprit was his brother. He phoned Crimewatch, and this call led detectives to investigate across the south of England from Cornwall to Essex, and also to the bars of Torremolinos, on the trail of a DJ with a long history of sexual assaults.
