  • 7 - Ep. 6: The “P” Word: Men Are Losing Too?! | Who Actually Benefits from the Patriarchy?

If the patriarchy is supposed to benefit men, why are so many men struggling under the expectations it places on them? 👀

The patriarchy is often discussed as a system that gives men power and disadvantages women. But what happens when we look beyond who holds the power and start asking who is actually benefiting from the system itself?

In Episode 6 of Between Me and You, we’re getting into the conversation around the patriarchy, unpacking traditional gender roles, the expectations placed on both men and women, and the ways these expectations shape our identities, relationships, and mental well-being.

From men being expected to provide, lead, and suppress their emotions to women being expected to nurture, accommodate, and carry the emotional load, we’re asking whether the roles society has assigned us are really serving either of us.

Does the patriarchy genuinely benefit men, or does it place them under a different kind of pressure? How do the expectations placed on men and women reinforce one another? And what would our relationships look like if we stopped measuring people against rigid ideas of what a man or a woman should be?

This is Part 2 of our two-part conversation on men’s mental health, following our discussion on toxic masculinity. We’re taking the conversation a step further by examining the wider system behind some of these expectations, challenging familiar narratives, and asking the uncomfortable question: who really wins?

Because maybe the conversation isn’t just about men versus women. Maybe it’s about understanding the systems we’ve inherited, the expectations we continue to uphold, and what it would take to build healthier relationships with ourselves and one another.

  • 6 - Ep. 5: Are You Man Enough? | Toxic Masculinity | Men’s Mental health (Part 1)

What does it really mean to be a man? And who gets to decide?

From being told to “man up” to being taught that vulnerability is weakness, many men grow up navigating expectations that leave little room for fear, sadness, or asking for help. But what happens when the pressure to be strong becomes the very thing that stops men from speaking up?

In Episode 5 of Between Me and You, we’re getting into the conversation around toxic masculinity, unpacking the societal expectations placed on men, the pressure to suppress emotions, and how traditional ideas of manhood can affect men’s mental health and the relationships they have with the people around them.

Where do we draw the line between healthy masculinity and toxic expectations? Can men be vulnerable without feeling like they’re losing their masculinity? And how do we create space for men to be honest about what they’re going through without shame or judgement?

This is Part 1 of our two-part conversation on men’s mental health. We’re challenging the narratives, asking the uncomfortable questions, and making room for a conversation that matters.

Because being a man shouldn’t mean suffering in silence.

  • 5 - Ep. 4: Friendship Is Expensive... And Some of Us Aren't Paying the Price

Everyone wants a village… but are we actually willing to be villagers? 👀

We love talking about community, having a solid support system, and surrounding ourselves with people who show up for us. But what happens when friendship starts requiring more than just good vibes and cute pictures? When being a good friend means giving your time, making sacrifices, having uncomfortable conversations, and showing up even when it’s inconvenient?

In Episode 4 of Between Me and You, Tadi and Faz are getting into the REAL cost of friendship. From the expectations we place on our friends to the effort it takes to maintain meaningful relationships, we're asking the questions we don't always want to answer.

💌 In this episode, we're talking about:

    • Why friendship can feel so expensive.

    • Everyone wants a village, but are you willing to be a villager?

    • The difference between wanting support and being supportive.

    • Are we expecting too much from our friends?

    • What does showing up for your friends actually look like?

    • Friendship expectations, boundaries, and the realities of growing up.

Because the truth is, you can't keep asking people to pour into you if you're never willing to pour into them.

So, let's talk about it. 🫣

  • 4 - Ep. 3: Girls’ Girl: Culture, Cult or Code?

Is being a “girls’ girl” about genuine solidarity, or have we created a rulebook for how women are supposed to behave?

In Episode 3 of Between Me and You, we’re getting into girls’ girl culture, girl code, pick-me culture, friendship, loyalty and the increasingly blurry line between supporting women and policing them.

From calling someone a “pick me” to the pressure to always back other women, we’re asking: where does girl code come from, who gets to define it, and what happens when you don’t follow it?

Because when there are rules for being a “girls’ girl”… are we talking about a culture, a cult, or a code?

  • 3 - Unfollowed IRL…Am I the Drama?

Friendship breakups. The silent unfollows. The conversations that never happened. The moment you realise someone you once considered a close friend is no longer part of your life.

In Episode 2 of Between Me & You, we're getting into the messy, uncomfortable and sometimes necessary reality of friendship breakups.

We're talking about what happens when friendships fall apart, whether every ending needs closure, the difference between protecting your peace and avoiding accountability, and the uncomfortable question we don't always want to ask ourselves:

    Am I the drama?😭

Are we too quick to cut people off? Do we know how to have difficult conversations? And how do we take responsibility for our part in a friendship that didn't work out?

So, between me and you… have you ever been the one who got unfollowed, or were you the one doing the unfollowing? 👀
