Mosaic Lincoln is a community following Jesus in practicing rhythms of grace to bring renewal to a weary and burdened world. Our desire is to come together as a people unencumbered by the cultural and religious expectations of our time. Instead, we will focus on receiving and extending the grace of God. Our hope is to work together to cultivate safe spaces within our church family, our neighborhoods and our shared networks where people can lean into each other’s stories and experience the restoration of Jesus together.
- 528 - Sanctuaries in Miniature: Salvation at Our Tables
We continue diving into a theology of home. Scripture emphasizes the happenings in homes far more than happenings in programmatic religious gatherings. In particular, there is a fascinating gospel narrative in which salvation shows up at a home. It's through Jesus' presence at this home a household experiences salvation and its relation to the world around is transformed. Let's awaken ourselves to salvation present at our tables bringing about rescue and transformation within us and around us...
Mon, 28 Sep 2026 - 527 - Sanctuaries in Miniature: A Theology of Home
What would it mean to believe God is encountered not only in worship gatherings but in the way someone speaks to his/her spouse, parents bless their children, children honor their parents, people eat together, forgive one another, offer hospitality and welcome strangers? Home isn't where real ministry stops or scales back. It's where it begins! After all, the home – not the local church building – is the place where God's presence, God's blessing, and God's welcome become most visible to us a...
Mon, 14 Sep 2026 - 526 - Themes From the Table: A Savior in Our Exile
Exile can be both literal and metaphorical – a physical displacement from home and a deeper experience of living in a place, season, or circumstance where we feel unsettled, disconnected, or longing for something more permanent. JRR Tolkien wrote to his son, "Our whole nature at its best and least corrupted, its gentlest and most humane, is still soaked with a sense of exile." Yet Jesus knows exile full well as he left his heavenly home to make a home with us in our wilderness experience as w...
Mon, 31 Aug 2026 - 525 - Themes From the Table: When Love Doesn’t Seem to Work
"On the night he was betrayed..." Sometimes in life, love doesn't seem to 'work.' Jesus is no stranger to this reality. God risks humanity's refusal in every moment. And yet he continually moves towards us and loves us. What might this ask of us? There is no safe investment in choosing to love, but there is union with Christ and a power at work transforming everything. Scripture: 1 Corinthians 11:23, 1 John 4:17-19
Mon, 17 Aug 2026 - 524 - Themes From the Table: Fullness In Our Scarcity
There is a scarcity mindset in our world telling us we don't have enough, we haven't done enough, and we don't measure up enough. Of, we need to hoard and monopolize whatever resources we can so they don't end up in the hands of someone else. This is not the way for followers of Jesus. God's abundance generally doesn't arrive in our preferred ways, but there is a fullness available to God's people even in the scarcest of times. Scripture: Exodus 16:16, 19-20, John 6:54
Mon, 27 Jul 2026 - 523 - Themes From the Table: Expanding Our View of Family
As the fragility of the nuclear and biological family becomes exposed from the pressures of life, we are invited to expand our view of our brothers and sisters. God, in Christ, is growing a new human family with many arms available to one another to catch us when we fall and provide support in our journeys. Just as Jesus has moved toward each of us, we move toward one another in love. Scripture: Matthew 12:45-50, Mark 10:29-30, John 1:12-13
Mon, 13 Jul 2026 - 522 - Themes From the Table: A Taste of Joy
The table Jesus prepares for us is an ongoing invitation to allow the heaviness of our hearts to experience a taste of joy and relief. Although our hearts can often draw back from living within the hope of the story of God's promise of rescue and never-ending joy, the mysterious presence of Jesus at the table bids us welcome. The end is the ongoing feast of which we are invited to taste and experience even now in moments together at Jesus' table. Scripture: Psalm 16
Mon, 22 Jun 2026 - 521 - Themes From the Table: A Broken Savior for Broken Bodies
Being present with the brokeness (material and immaterial) in our own bodies and the bodies of others is a difficult thing. But we have a God who entered our broken humanity to be in solidarity with us. Will we honor his presence with us in this brokenness and allow him to be at home with us in those broken places? Even there, he is holding us until the coming age of full renewal. Scripture: Psalm 139:7-10
Mon, 08 Jun 2026 - 520 - Themes From the Table: Delighting in Communion
To be human is to long for relational communion, and the essence of Christian communion is delighting in others for who they are as God's image bearers, not for what they can offer us. In this teaching, we explore the beautiful communion of the Trinity (Father, Son and Spirit) welcoming each of us into their communion of delight so we can share this with one another. This movement in our lives is essential to the healing and repair of the world in which we're often invited to not delight in o...
Mon, 01 Jun 2026 - 519 - Themes From the Table: Living Within Pain and Promise
In a world filled with trouble, we're reminded of the promise of hope that has been shown to us in the life, death and resurrection of Jesus and one day will fully be present among us. At the Lord's table we're reminded pain and promise are odd dance partners, but we're called to presently live in this tension. For whenever we eat this bread and drink this cup, we proclaim the Lord's death (pain, death and sorrow in the human experience) until he comes (hope and promise). Scriptures: John 12:...
Tue, 19 May 2026 - 518 - Awareness of How We Are Loved
•Opening Worship •19:04 Message: The more aware we are of being loved, the more able we are to love. Will we root ourselves in the love of God enveloping us at all times so we can keep soft, generative hearts even in the midst of our hearts sometimes being paralyzed, calloused or condescending? Jesus is inviting us on this journey. Scripture: John 13:3-4, Hebrews 13:12-14, Ephesians 3:17-19
Mon, 11 May 2026 - 517 - Easter Recalibration in Liminal Spaces
•Opening Worship •18:18 Rachel and Mosaic Kids •29:01 Message - The season of Easter is a time to recalibrate our lives toward the risen Christ as Lord. The epistle to the Hebrews was written to people living in a liminal space of having to think and act in new ways. Many today are realizing they are being invited to live and act in new ways in the midst of a chaotic world. As the writer of Hebrews reminds us, here we do not have an enduring city, but we are looking for the city that is to co...
Mon, 20 Apr 2026 - 516 - Oh How I Love Jesus
•00:00- 21:21 Communal Worship •21:22 Message Are you tired? Run down? Disenchanted with life? Let these stories of Jesus refresh you. There is living water for your soul in this season available through the life, death, and resurrection of Jesus.
Mon, 23 Mar 2026 - 515 - Trusting Jesus in Life and in Death
•00:00 Opening Worship •10:40 Ministry Moment with Libby of Mosaic Kids •35:55 Message | In a world of war and nation-states seeking self-protection, riches, and dominance over others, we are reminded that to follow Jesus is to embrace an existence of vulnerability centered on blessing others. Scripture: Hebrews:1-3
Mon, 16 Mar 2026 - 514 - Go to Yourself in God's Story
•00:00 - 21:39 Communal Worship •21:40 - 32:57 Ybor/Bill moment •32:58 This week's teaching explores the free opportunity God has given each of us to go to our truest selves as we entrust ourselves to God's care for us in Jesus Christ. Our frail, human journeys have a Story to call home as we receive our lives as a sheer gift by entrusting ourselves to God's care. Scripture: Genesis 12 and Romans 4
Mon, 02 Mar 2026 - 513 - The Foolishness of the Cross
In this teaching we discover the cross is our invitation into discovering experiences of inner scarcity are the portals into both receiving the tenderness and kindness of God and then offering self-emptying love toward neighbor. God is kinder to us than we are to ourselves as we embrace the cross and God's wisdom found there. Scripture: 1 Corinthians 1:18-31
Mon, 02 Feb 2026 - 512 - Delighting in Discovery
In Psalm 40 we hear of the psalmist delighting to do the will of God. Needless to say, there's always a lot of talk about the will of God for one's life. In this teaching we wrestle with the truth of God's will simply being our daily surrender and choice of delighting to keep open, soft, and receptive hearts whatever the path before us. This is what it means to be alive to God. What new discovery is God inviting me into here as I walk this path before me? Scripture: Psalm 40:1-8, 17
Mon, 19 Jan 2026 - 511 - Life in the Light of All Mankind
In this teaching we explore the opening words of John's gospel. Life is found in the light of all mankind whose presence is among us. May the light of his life be a light we both receive and carry for one another. Scripture: John 1:1-14
Mon, 05 Jan 2026 - 510 - Mosaic's Christmas Gathering
A celebration of Christmas carols, scripture readings, candle lightings and a reminder of the gentle invitation of our God extended to each of us.
Mon, 22 Dec 2025 - 509 - Living In Time Pregnant with the Patience of God
As we continue in Peter’s second letter, he tells us of a world pregnant with the patience of God. God's love of his created world will lead him to rescue it, and those who choose to live presently in the love of God while growing in the righteousness of God await a day of the Lord in which all will be laid bare and made new. This hope leads us forward. Scripture: 2 Peter 3
Mon, 17 Nov 2025 - 508 - Participation in the Divine Nature
We begin our exploration of Peter’s second letter, where he invites followers of Jesus to share in God’s divine nature. This participation comes through the precious faith granted to them by the righteousness of Jesus, and it culminates in mutual affection and self-giving love for others. By practicing this way of life—one already present in God’s coming kingdom—believers will discover a rich and joyful welcome when it fully arrives. Scripture: 2 Peter 1:1-11
Mon, 03 Nov 2025 - 507 - Impatient On Our Way: A God of Loyal Love
We're often impatient on our way to becoming something new. Yet we have a God of loyal love who never wanders from us even though we often wander from him. Our loyal love can be like the morning dew, here for a moment and then dissipating. The loyal love of God displayed to us in Jesus is good news to receive and invites us into movements of steadfast love, too. Scripture: Exodus 34:6-7, Hosea, Ruth
Mon, 06 Oct 2025 - 506 - Impatient On Our Way: A Gracious God
We're often impatient on our way to becoming something new. Yet we have a gracious God who is continually meeting us with his favor and delight. As recipients of this grace on our journeys will we also become people extending this favor and delight with others? Scripture: Exodus 34:6-7, Ephesians 2:1-10
Mon, 08 Sep 2025 - 505 - Impatient On Our Way: A Compassionate God
We're often impatient on our way to becoming something new. Yet we have a compassionate God who is deeply moved toward us just as a mother toward her child. Will we receive this compassion on our journeys in order to be renewed and also to share that compassion with others? Scripture: Exodus 34:6-7
Mon, 25 Aug 2025 - 504 - Prayer: Aligning to God's Heart
Jesus teaches his disciples how to pray. Rather than focusing on a list of requests, Jesus invites his disciples to use prayer as a way to align their hearts to God's will and ways. It's another beautiful invitation to awaken to the presence of God and communion with him. Scripture: Matthew 6:5-14
Mon, 18 Aug 2025 - 503 - Prayer: An Invitation to Communion with God
Prayer is a common idea both inside and out of religious environments. Most people have thoughts on prayer, some experience with prayer, and questions about what prayer really is. Rebecca invites us into her own journey as she shares the beauty and complexity with prayer. Why still pray when we face disillusionment and disappointment of unanswered prayer or denied requests? Prayer is so much more than a list we submit to God. It begins with an invitation from God to sit with him. Through cont...
Mon, 04 Aug 2025 - 502 - The Satan and the Son of God: The Voice of Amos
As we conclude this series, we give voice to the prophet Amos. God's people find themselves entangled in the system of the Satan, and God's justice will not remain silent. Yet, divine justice is always bound to divine mercy. A new day is coming—a day marked by hope, justice, and righteousness. In the meantime, followers of Jesus are invited to learn from this vision and actively participate in God’s new creation now. Scripture: Amos
Mon, 21 Jul 2025 - 501 - The Satan and the Son of God: A Testing of the Heart
Jesus was led into the wilderness for a time of testing. What was in his heart? In that disorienting and chaotic space, faced with the presence of the satan, our faithful brother in humanity shows us a beautiful way forward. As Jesus faithfully fulfills the calling of God’s people, we are invited to examine our own hearts in the face of testing. We rest in his faithfulness—and we move forward, following his example. Scripture: Matthew 4
Mon, 07 Jul 2025 - 500 - The Satan and the Son of God: "Get Behind Me, Satan"
At times, the influence of the Satan can be seen even in the life of a disciple. In this recording, we explore the complexity of human faith, the beauty of walking together—both communally and across generations with saints past and present—and the ongoing invitation to grow in awareness of how our lives are shaped by the system of the Satan. This system seeks to harass and enslave; it promises gain, yet demands our very lives in return. It leaves little room for cruciform love or the humble ...
Mon, 30 Jun 2025 - 499 - The Satan and the Son of God: The System of Babylon
The Satan operates through a system known as Babylon. This system appears in many places and takes on different forms throughout the ages. It disorients and draws people away from God's way of life. To live faithfully within Babylon means recognizing its patterns while resting in the assurance that one day, Jesus will bring this system to its final end. God's people are not called to destroy the system of the Satan, but to entrust their lives to God's care and live in such a way that their sh...
Sun, 15 Jun 2025 - 498 - The Satan and the Son of God: Entering the Mystery
In Judeo-Christian scripture, The Satan appears in many forms: the serpent in Eden, the Leviathan in Job, the dragon in Revelation, the beasts rising from the sea in Daniel, and the devil of the New Testament. We're told that the Son of God appeared to destroy the works of the devil. But how do we begin to grasp this profound mystery? And how should this understanding shape the way we live as followers of Christ? In the weeks ahead, we'll begin to unpack these themes and explore what they me...
Mon, 02 Jun 2025 - 497 - Lives Bearing Witness to Goodness
Easter reminds us that the goodness which shaped the universe and continues to sustain all of creation will ultimately triumph. But what does it mean to bear witness to this goodness? What does it look like to align ourselves with its energy and rhythm? The lives of Tabitha (Dorcas) and Peter offer us glimpses—examples of what it means to live in harmony with this divine goodness. May their witness inspire us to do the same. Scripture: Acts 1:8, Acts 9:36-42
Mon, 12 May 2025 - 496 - Easter: The Goodness Sustaining All Prevails
The opening stanzas of Hebrew poetry in Genesis 1 declare that God saw all He had made—and it was very good. The Hebrew creation narrative goes on to reveal humanity’s invitation to live within the goodness of the Creator and to share that goodness with one another. But where has all the goodness gone in our world? On Good Friday, God in Christ entered fully into human suffering and sin while extending mercy and forgiveness. Then, on Easter Sunday, the sustaining goodness of God broke through...
Mon, 21 Apr 2025 - 495 - Lent: Rest secure in Christ's work
Paul and the church at Philippi received significant opposition to the true gospel they received through faith. Many pushed the church to pursue worldly forms of power and following rules and regulations to experience right relationship with Christ. Today we still experience these messages and feel this pressure, believing that right relationship with Christ can be earned by perfect doctrine and behaviors and believing Christ is somehow present more in power than weakness. Paul reminds us tha...
Mon, 07 Apr 2025 - 494 - Lent: Passions, Desires and the Fires Within
Much of Western Christianity places a high focus on orthodoxy (right beliefs) and will even explore orthopraxy (actions/behaviors). What about our passions, desires, and fires within (orthopathy)? These realities within our souls can lead us into all kinds of bondage and create pain for ourselves and our neighbors, but the love of God is always inviting them back home into his refuge and care. This allows our passions and desires to be shaped in right ways for our own healing and that of the ...
