The Two Robbies
TV e Film

A monthly, unofficial look at the new stuff which is on Netflix in the UK, with The Two Robbies. Some podcasts would say things like 'the new stuff which has landed' but I'm afraid Robbie finds such nonsense unbearable. Regular features include Rob showing off his remarkable ability to predict the IMDB score for a TV programme or film (surely he's cheating?). Other features include Robbie's Poetry In Motion Pictures, which is a snazzy way of saying that Robbie's review is usually in the form of clumsily written rhyming couplets. Robbie and Rob also take a look at the 1 star and 10 star reviews for each programme, since no-one seems to be interested in nuance or moderate views nowadays...

  • 20 - Ep 20: Challenger: The Final Flight and The Crown Series 4

Another unofficial look at the newish stuff on Netflix with Rob Bryher and Robbie Lane. This month we start with Challenger: The Final Flight and then talk about The Crown Series 4. Warning...we've tried to keep too many spoilers out but The Crown chat does contain chit chat about major historical stuff which actually happened. If you have minimal prior knowledge of UK political history then you might want to avoid the podcast until you've seen it.

A belated and abridged edition of the unofficial Netflix reviews programme with The Two Robbies (Rob Bryher and Robbie Lane) The Social Dilemma is a documentary with a bit of drama about the power of Facebook, Twitter, Instagram and so on. Friday Night Dinner is a broad British comedy about a family which gets together once a week to argue and put salt in each other's drinks. The music is by Jahzzar

  • 18 - Ep 18: Eurovision Song Contest: The Story of Fire Saga, Rick and Morty, The Old Guard

In Episode 18 of New on Netflix UK we take an unofficial, non-endorsed look at Eurovision Song Contest: The Story of Fire Saga, Rick and Morty, The Old Guard. Robbie Lane and Rob Bryher agree that they both love Eurovision but will they feel the same about the movie with Will Ferrell and Rachel McAdams? Rob claims Rick and Morty is even better than Robbie's favourite animation of all time. And Rob tries to persuade Robbie to watch a few minutes of The Old Guard

  • 17 - Ep 17: Da 5 Bloods, Snowpiercer, Space Force

Another unofficial rummage into the stuff which is new on Netflix for UK viewers. This month's reviews include: Spike Lee's new movie 'Da 5 Bloods' telling the story of a group of soldiers who return to Vietnam, Snowpiercer which is a TV version of the movie which Rob Bryher has been trying to persuade Robbie Lane to watch and Space Force which is a new comedy starring Steve Carrell. Robbie's poem is a big of a whine this month and Rob ruins the usual professional standards by hosting a small garden party during the podcast recording. Listen out for the sound of someone giving a cheery "goodbye Rob" presumably whilst holding the remains of a pavlova covered in clingfilm. The music is by Jahzzar.
