Old Man Squad Fantasy Basketball

By week 3 we know what everyone's role looks like, so the trading is less based on new information and MORE based on where usage rates don't line up with rank. Do we have some anomalous stat categories inflating or deflating values, and can we turn that into a few rounds of trade-bait profit?

The NBA hit us with 29 games between Monday and Wednesday, and we went as deep into the card as we possibly could on both! Here, Dan covers all 28 teams that played on Wednesday night, covering center adds on the Clippers, usage dips that could be secret SELL moments, new injuries, Kon Knueppel not quite making a real debut, and some guys that just look like drops. Part two covers the final eight games on the card.

Usage rates pretty much dictate value. Not every time, but ALMOST every time. Thunder Dan did a ton of research into the players that have seen their usage change by the largest amount year over year and determine if we have buy, sell, or no windows at all on these key names in fantasy!

It's back, baby, and on a Big Wednesday with 14 games it's even more fun -- these are the 10 most added players across all of fantasy basketball, and Dan's thoughts on whether you should do the same and their outlook!

The BURGER BOARD is one of our greatest weapons as fantasy managers. One player goes down and another comes surging up! Our job is to figure out who the best replacements are and how we can utilize them for WEEKS at a time to really get the big gainers on the competition.

You play a game! And you play a game! Everybody plays a game! Monday came through with a FULL, MAXED out slate, and on this epic show Dan covers every pickup, every drop (and we have a few!), every benching, every buy, every sell, every story, every injury, and every monster line. Here in part two, Dan hits the final 15 teams to play.

The PANIC list getting longer over the past 5 days is NOT what you want to see, but here we are. Dan asked the community which names they were freaking out about, and these 33 came up regularly. Today, we'll decide who to cut, who might underperform, and who is an intense BUY opportunity hidden behind a weird start. In part two we get into the true disasters who might end up being cut or just seem so bad they aren't even a buy low... yet.

Today, we'll decide who to cut, who might underperform, and who is an intense BUY opportunity hidden behind a weird start. In part one we discuss the players that Dan is least concerned about going forward.

Yaxel went BANANAS. Luka is the number one player in fantasy. Kris Dunn is the waiver wire Dyson Daniels, and Sunday's fantasy recap has all sorts of goodies even from just a four game card!

Week 3 is here and Matty G takes you through, and lays out the BEST plan for your moves. From breaking down the schedule to the latest injury updates, he does it all to get you the win this week.

In this episode of On Fire Fantasy, Jacob Dunne breaks down the absolute best streaming targets and priority waiver wire pickups to secure your Week 3 victory in H2H Points and Category leagues!

Aday Mara blocked four shots and got our attention! Scoot got the start in Portland with Ja out, but is he even a point guard any more? Questions abound off a Saturday jammed with blowouts!

The biggest news from Friday didn't involve a game at all, as Chet Holmgren has to have surgery and he's out for months. Brutal. Friday was saved, though, by monster lines from Kyrie, Steph, Luka, Coop, and Paul George!? Part two recaps the last five games of the night.

This crowd-pleaser is back! Dan puts the question to the masses to find out the players YOU most want to hear about, and then, well, we talk about 'em. Here are the 10 most-discussed players in fantasy and whether you should add, drop, hold or even trade them!

Ja Morant pulled a hammy, Onyeka Okongwu busted out, but Darius Acuff Jr going NUTSO was the story of the night from Thursday. Who are the must adds? Is Jrue Holiday going to jam?

Fantasy managers are beginning to change how they feel about player values. Yes, at the start of the season most opinions are based entirely on draft slot, but by game 5 you can see the tide changing. Our job is to squeeze profit out of the gap between actual current rank and expected final mark. Here are some of those names.

Hey, no one got badly injured on a big slate - it's a miracle! Big Wednesday didn't disappoint with huge fantasy lines, centers popping up, young players showing out (with bad FG%), and so much more. Part two covers the final six games.

Injuries have taken over the league, and 10 players are getting added everywhere *mostly* as a result of them. But are these players getting added because they can be good or just because folks want to do something - anything at all - when they lose a star?

In this episode of On Fire Fantasy, Jacob Dunne is joined by 2021 FSWA Basketball Writer of the Year, "Thunder Dan" Palyo from RotoBaller! Together, they break down the massive fantasy implications of Anthony Edwards' knee surgery before evaluating six intriguing early-season targets for both H2H Points and 9-Category leagues.

If you thought the Sunday injury bug was a big one, Tuesday brought the biggest bug in the Amazon. Anthony Edwards, Jaren Jackson Jr and Kawhi Leonard were EACH ruled out long term, and while some of you may have lost the battle, the war has just begun.

Cooper Flagg had a whopper of a game and now sits atop the fantasy throne at the season's one week mark! But the big stories for us managers is what's happening on the margins, and we have some extremely intriguing pickups out of Oklahoma, Utah, Dallas, and more!

The Burger Board show is back! Yes, week two has brought with it a HOST of 11 injury replacement names, some of whom could be as strong as a 4th round pick! Find out who they are and who Dan likes most!

A truly awful NBA news day, indeed. Jalen Williams likely shattered his ankle. Jalen Suggs went down with a non-contact knee injury and even Ivica Zubac climbs into the equation with a gnarly ankle sprain. Our job is to swallow the jagged pill and figure out pickups, adjust our pants, and get back to work.

Week 2 HERE WE COME! Matty G takes you through the upcoming week, and lays out the BEST plan your moves. From breaking down the schedule, to the latest injury updates, he does it all to get you the win for your week.

Kel'el Ware and Caleb Wilson were the highlights of the night, but sneaky games from guys like Tari Eason and Aaron Wiggins are what moves our fantasy waiver wire needle. Enjoy this special recap show from Dan, that he won't necessarily do every Sunday but hey, it's week one so let's have some bonus fun and not miss a thing (as Aerosmith taught us).

Friday was, to no one's surprise, JAMMED with fantasy results. Jalen Duren and Cooper Flagg went down, Walker Kessler is amazing, and the panic meter on many players is headed hard in the up or down direction. Part two covers the late part of the slate with some west coast games, too.

There are 26 players that you counted on to put up some stats, and 26 players that have not done so. This is the comprehensive Dan Besbris list of early-season underperformers and how panicked you should be about their numbers so far! Part two takes us through the names that might already be cut-worthy if you need an open spot!

Part one covers the first half of our names, and mostly guys that we're not TOO scared about... yet.

In this episode of On Fire Fantasy, Jacob Dunne breaks down the absolute best weekend streaming targets to secure your Week 1 victory in H2H Points and Category leagues!

The Thunder shot terribly but won. Denver shot horribly and lost. Intriguing role players on both sides are dangerously close to making the early-season cut list. How much patience should we show them? Also, is Philadelphia amazing already or is this a mirage?

Week one is all about small sample sizes, but many folks find reasons to panic even when we tell them not to over and over. This episode is for all the calm managers, ready to cash in when others are losing their heads.

BIG WEDNESDAY is the best! The first one of the year is somehow even better! We had Ty Jerome posting the best line of the season! We had Dejounte Murray going off. We had some disappointments, too. And we had some sneaky pickups with rest of season appeal buried in the weeds for those willing to hunt. Part two covers the final five games, including some blowouts with legit pickups.

One more time to begin the year, we're looking at the players that are being ADDED the most by the general fantasy public. Is it an overreaction to night one? Is it a streamer? Do we have some injury replacement players set to explode, now that the news has given us more info? Let's dive in!

THE SEASON HAS BEGUN! Paul George went completely nuts with the line of the night, but all eyes are on the players that underperformed. What should we do with Neemias Queta, Ajay Mitchell, Isaiah Hartenstein, and more?

These 10 players were largely undrafted but managers are scooping them up like gold in the river. Is it wise, though? Should we play the waiting game? Are these guys streamers or values?

Winning the draft is one thing. Winning the SEASON is another. The grind begins tonight, and these FIVE ultimate fantasy tenets should always be followed if you want to take your team out of the gates quickly and set yourself up for success.

Welcome to the weekly OMS preview show with Matty G. Each week, Matty will take you through the week, and plan out how to attack. We get to it. G will take you through the schedule, the injuries, the adds, and how to plan your week to win.

Thought this might be fun to see. Is it? Who knows. Here are my head-to-head punt team(s) and roto well-rounded clubs after a weekend PACKED with drafts! Part two covers my four roto squads!

Draft season is ALMOST over. Not quite. Thunder Dan joins the program to discuss his waiver wire targets heading into week one, some of whom you can even draft, as well as early-season strategies, how to approach week one from an aggressive posture, and more!

This is it! The FINAL Besbris RANKS of 2026! We made a bunch of key adjustments since the first Buckets episode last week, so make sure to come with us on this speed round through the changes and dominate your draft one last time!

In this episode of On Fire Fantasy, Jacob Dunne breaks down the absolute best Week 1 fantasy basketball waiver wire streamers to target for H2H Points Leagues!

LAST UPDATE! With the board shifting, values moving and player projections changing, we needed to do a last update to the 1st/2nd round pairings guide. This one is shorter, at least!

Every show right now is the last of its kind... for this year! This is the Dan Besbris FINAL board on his absolute favorite names of the entire draft season!

Yahoo's FINAL board is out! The changes, this time at least, are more in the 50-150 range, so let's dive in and see where new values may have popped or been erased!

The preseason has completely changed the end of my draft board. Here is a fresh look at the 32 late picks I like, in the exact order I like them, and how I expect them to perform!

Want to learn how to build a team? That's what Adam does best! The PuntMaster (who, perhaps, should be called the BuildMaster instead) Adam Stock joins Dan to discuss 1st round decisions, pairing choices, how to think through punts, where categories are falling, and his top preseason winners and losers from the early, middle and late parts of drafts!

The preseason can hide issues, but it almost always reveals some truths! Here are Dan's 10 most important preseason notes that have dramatically changed his fantasy ranks for multiple key players.

Matty G is joined by special guest Dan Titus from @YahooFantasy right here on OMS to drop his 5 Musts, 5 Busts, and 5 "My Guys" and G throws in his and more to give you targets, traps and players they are loving in drafts right now.

Excluding key punt plays and injured guys, these are the 19 players that Dan believes will UNDERPERFORM their pre-season ranking.

I thought this might be fun. We're consolidating! Here are all 45 non-flier type winners on the fantasy board. We move through them at about 1 minute per player, so strap on that safety harness!

Our final review of the SAFEST winners on the board is hot now! These are the low-risk, low-to-medium reward types that you can easily stack on your fantasy team to get wins all the way through the draft. They're not exactly laden with upside, but none will kill your team and there's value in that, too!

Finally, part 3, weaving quickly through the final 40-50 names, sorting fliers, understanding strategy and how to use the cheat sheet. THE WHOPPER RETURNS in our longest ever solo host rankings episode of OMS - it's the Dan Besbris FULL Bucket List! We cover roughly 150 players, sorted into tiers/buckets, offer reasoning on every single one of them, work through draft strategy for maximizing names on our winner list, and so much more. It's an epic, so sit back, relax, and enjoy! Or just relax, maybe.

Here comes part 2, picking up in the early rounds, and continuing through the middle of the draft. Do we think we moved the market? Hard to say, but this week's biggest ADP risers are right out of the OMS playbook. Are they still values even at the new number?

ADP numbers don't move nearly as much at this point in the year because there have simply been too many drafts. So even small shifts can actually mean more! Today, we'll look at 12 of the biggest DROPPERS in ADP this late in the game - some are still disasters, but some are moving into BIG time value territory!

In this episode of On Fire Fantasy, Jacob Dunne is joined by fantasy basketball expert Adam King (@Adamking91) to break down an expert-level 10-team Points League Industry Mock Draft!

I hate these shows because they only cover players who are LOSING value on the board. WOE IS US! But we need to cover them, because we can't just waltz into a draft and blindly take the same guys regardless of their ranking and draft slot. Let's check them out.

We've got FALLERS in the latest Yahoo ranking board adjustment, and MANY players are going from non-values to values. Some moved a bunch! Let's figure out which should be drafted in most leagues!

Read and react. That's what we do, and with Yahoo putting out BOARD FIVE, we needed to do one last full trip through the rankings. Here are my favorites and avoids in every round through the top-100, plus some bonus notes on punt strategies! Part two rolls from round 5 until the end, leaving us ready for some fliers as your next meal.

On this episode of THE TAKE, Matty G is joined by special guest Jacob Dunne from Fantrax and right here on OMS as Jacob goes round by round, identifying his favourite targets, potential steals, and the players offering the biggest upside at their current ADP. Then Matty goes speed demon and rips through his to give you over 25!!! top targets for your drafts.

Who are the players driving fantasy draft managers MAD?! These guys. Dan breaks down the 10 (plus 1) most confusing, talked-about, or polarizing names on the board and tells you whether to draft them, avoid them or just make a quiet "mm" noise as they whiz past your spot on the draft table.

Hopefully, this will finish the job. Barring a huge Yahoo ranking shift, with this show and final slide, you'll have a cheat sheet for your draft no matter where your pick falls. Here are Dan's favorite choices if you end up with selections in the 5-8 range, and throughout the snake draft thereafter.

They went and did it again, dagnabbit. Yahoo's new 5th board is the latest rankings sheet we need to attack, so here is your one stop shop with a pick in the 9-12 range. Hopefully, this show is all you'll need to smash your draft!

A big late winner can bring you a title! Here are 45 names that Dan likes going late in drafts, ranked by upside and value. And yes, to answer your question, there are 10-15 of them that are head and shoulders above the rest.

Yes, we've done these before. I know. I'm a little annoyed about it, too. But when the board moves, I want to make sure YOU all have my preferences in ONE quick show so you can dominate your draft. Here's the FRONT end remake.

These are my EIGHT favorite players on the board. No rules or stipulations. Doesn't have to be young or old. Doesn't need to be pre-hype or post-hype. Just the absolute best targets with massive upside and a bit of risk.

What's it like to draft against your OWN top players list? It's hard. But it's great practice, and gives us the heads up that we need to have MORE viable targets in each round. PLUS, what do you do if your favorites are off the board? Do you grab someone falling you didn't want or move to your next group of faves?

We have a LOT of work to do. Two recon mocks (this is the first), and three new TARGETS at every draft position. Here, we mock against some bots and some public players to see where our targets might land, or fall, with a few caveats.

What's the craziest fantasy league you've ever played in? It's not as insane as this one. Josh Lloyd and Dan Besbris join forces for this podcaster showdown in a 2-team, 94-category whack-job league where only the true king will prevail!

I absolutely hate it when ADP's are shooting up the board... unless it's someone I want my OPPONENT to take so my value can fall to me! Let's look at 16 names flying off draft sheets and determine if we should follow the current or swim against it and find the pot of gold!

This is the BEST time. New ADP targets surface every week or two and we found as many as NINETEEN to cover on today's show. Players sliding that shouldn't be is the best way to find new values even as the board begins to crystallize in October. Here's who they are.

The bust list returns! Not massively different, but we try to do an update every month or so, and we've got a couple new names and removed a couple, as well. Plus, what's the difference between a BUST and just an underperformer?

GOOD HEAVENS the board has shifted! We had to redo one of favorites, and there VERY few holdovers. That's good for content, but bad for fantasy prep since we need to go back to the drawing board and make sure we can get favorites in every round! Part two covers round 5 through the end of the pre-fliers zone!

That's good for content, but bad for fantasy prep since we need to go back to the drawing board and make sure we can get favorites in every round! Part one moves us from the top of the board through the end of the 4th round!

Host of the Young Man Squad Podcast and RotoWorld stud Noah Rubin brings an almost completely fresh batch of names to the show as we begin to near the end of our My Dudes series. Do you like these young studs? How do you feel about these injury bounceback names?

Just when you thought you knew the rankings front to back, they go and change AGAIN! Let's DEEP DIVE the top 26 players on the 4th Yahoo Rankings Board to find all the best pairs, punts, values, busts and more! Part 2 covers the second round and a few bonus names to begin the 3rd.

Just when you thought you knew the rankings front to back, they go and change AGAIN! Let's DEEP DIVE the top 26 players on the 4th Yahoo Rankings Board to find all the best pairs, punts, values, busts and more! Part 1 covers the first round!

What even is a “Breakout”- For our purposes, we’ll classify it as significant jumping over expectation by a player that has NOT had a truly massive season in the past. And today, we have SIX such players that you could even stack on one fantasy team for maximum gains!

Matty G is joined by fellow @OldManSquad analyst and legend Adam King to open up the OMS 2026-27 Fantasy Basketball Watch List, with the cherry on top being Damian Lillard.

Having a late pick this year is actually pretty rad. You can grab all the key winners that fall to you, plus amazing values at the front end of the next round. Are there any tricky spots, though? Here, Dan gives you all his best value plays that typically are available where you'll be making your pick in a snake draft.

Taking all of our knowledge of the tail end of the draft slot database, we went ahead and fired up a REAL MOCK where Dan tried to build out a powerhouse team from pick 12. Did he succeed?

It's like Christmas in September! The 3rd Yahoo Rank Board arrived and more than 50 players DROPPED in the rankings... many of whom are now ABSURD steals that we need to find a way to nab in fantasy drafts! Part two focuses on most of the key moves among higher profile players!

The 3rd Yahoo Rank Board arrived and more than 50 players DROPPED in the rankings... many of whom are now ABSURD steals that we need to find a way to nab in fantasy drafts! Part one takes us through most of the massive moves of the later guys... though there are some big names mixed in!

The new Yahoo rankings have shifted players DRAMATICALLY. Today, we analyze the most important RISERS on the board. Who is still a value? Who do we need to chase for the hype? Who is now way too expensive?

Not many podcasts can bring you laughs AND winners, but this one sure can! Our longtime pal Mike Barner joins Dan on the show with his four absolute favorites to nab on draft night. Some easy winners; some upside shots; but always fun!

YOU’RE ON THE CLOCK. Two players are sitting in your queue. Similar ADP. You’re interested in BOTH. But you only get one. Who are you taking? Matty G is joined by Adam Stock from Elite Fantasy Basketball (https://elitefantasybasketball.com) for MUST DRAFT: ADP BATTLES.

We move into the LATE PICK zone, now! Where are all of our favorites going in this range, and how many of them can we potentially nab? The best way to start the process is to do a RECON mock and scout the board as we prepare to crush with one of the last picks.

Alright friends. We did a recon mock to figure out where our favorite guys are going near the middle of each round. We did a real mock where I tried to get my hands on a few. And now, the episode that boils it all down to a few slides, and you can follow my board here to get some great values with a pick in the center of the draft.

I don't care what you say, this is still the toughest spot to draft from in 2026. The middle of the rounds have all sorts of tricky, stick moments, and today we try to target some great names from the likely player pool to see if our prep and strategy are paying off or if we need to make tweaks.
