The housekeeping didn't seem necessary (or could've been shortened) as you just introduced the guests, which you then did again. The music at the beginning of the show is too long. Have someone explain what the show is about and the topics for the episode.
Your domain needs explaining which will drive you nuts years from now, "No it's thursdai not thursday" so buy both domains and point them at your website.
I found it odd that you would make a guest wait an hour to be interviewed.

You've got a plosive issue, and when your show name has two P's you need to fix that. The witty banter went on too long, and you have a ton of "music for the sake of nothing." The biggest thing I would say is get to the topic, then throw in stories as you talk about editing. I wanted to hear this but you seemed a bit focused on being entertaining in a "Local programming television morning show" way. Oh Trevor you rascal! Just get to the content and inject yourself into the content with stories that help make a point.

What I Thought Could Use Some Polishing
Your intro was awful. If you don't care about it, why should I. You need to go back to the drawing board and do the following:
1. Identify your WHY. If you don't get your why, you burn out.
2. Identify your WHO. If you don't give them value, you'll never grow an audience.
3. Identify the WHAT. This is content that both entertains the WHO while moving them toward your WHAT.
4. Identify how you will measure success. There are more than downloads (sales, reach, influence, fun, and more). If you use the wrong metric, you might get discouraged.
5. if the goal is to make money QUICKLY and you have started with zero audience, know that it can take YEARS to build an audience big enough to make countable income.
It all starts with identifying your WHO and your WHY.

I hope you've been well. I'm dropping you an email because I rarely disagree with you, but I think you missed the mark on Shadow Clock Reviewed on the 2/14 episode of The Podcast Rodeo Show.
The kitchen garbage at the beginning floored me because I have no idea why anyone would leave that in, but once she got past that, she nailed it, IMO. She set it up well, teased me so I wanted to hear more, and his background was interesting to me because it all related to eventually becoming a bank robber. You were immediately frustrated when he was talking about fishing on the Mississippi whereas I knew right away it would lead to bootlegging. If I was wrong, it was short enough to give her the benefit of doubt (since it was my first time listening) that it would tie in somehow.
From that point up until where you ended it, I think only a few words were wasted because while I would find a story about bank robbing interesting, I'm more fascinated by how he got there. At least as long as it ties in. If he talked about fishing and it was just a story about fishing, then that would have me scratching my head. Unnecessary was her imagery of pelicans at Alcatraz. It may have been interesting as part of her take at the end, but it seemed odd, boring, and out of place where she had it.
There is one other thing where I think she failed - the title. I would never have stopped to listen because Shadow Clock Revisited doesn't jump out at me as to what I'm going to hear. What does that mean? Titles are tough.
Anyway, just my take. I'm launching a new show with a cohost for the first time, so I'll be reaching out soon.

There was no show open. I had no idea what I was listening to as a first-time listener. I felt like I had walked into a movie. You somewhat buried the lead, and then when you let the cat out of the bag, I wanted to hear about bank robbing (and you went WAY into his story).
I assume he wasn't raised by Nuns in a Manson so I was ready to hear about bank robbing. That tease does keep me listening (and got you the Whinny, not the buzzer) but had I not been doing a review show, I would've been pressing the fast-forward button.

The recorded intro was good and let me know what the show was about (in a much faster way than the Apple description).
Your tone of voice is nice and friendly.
The content was good for an absolute finance beginner.
What I Thought Could Use Some Polishing
Nobody in the right mind will ever read that Apple intro. Apple doesn't index the intro so no need to keyword stuff the description. It wreaks a bit of Chat GPT. You could quit with the first paragraph (who is this for, how will the benefit). In your friendly delivery (are there podcasts they deliver in an unfriendly delivery)?
You are reading and it's obvious. For me, that's a no-go. You read better than most people read, but you're reading.
There was no personalization. There were no personal stories. There was no RALPH in Ask Ralph. Here again, I sense some Chat GPT. Everything was very high level, "Works for everyone" kind of content. This creates vanilla content (hence the "Meh") rating. It wasn't horrible, but I wasn't running to tell a friend.

I thought you did a good job of picking a subject that would have people debating the subject. I loved the natural banter between the two.
What I Thought Could Use Some Polishing
The intro where you sing the intro is somewhat "Wayne's World, Pary On, Excellent." Depending on the goal of the show this might fit, but if you're trying to make a professional impression, maybe have a friend do some voice-over and buy a $5 track from Tunereel and blend the two.
There is a hum in the background. Either turn something off or use something like the noise reduction in Hindenburg Pro.
Some people leave the ums in, and some people (me) will remove the "low-hanging" ums. For me, it makes you sound more confident and prepared.
Just a bit more planning to introduce the topic, and the book.
If you're using one mic, go buy a second one (I like the Samson Q2U, and if needed a Podtrak P4 to record you, and then edit in software later). It just sounds a little 'bommy" like you're in a cave or fishbowl.
I didn't hear an obvious benefit in your show, and for the record, I need to add one to this show. I say you get an honest first impression (so you can.....) I need to add that.

There is a personality in this show that makes it stand out. The audio sounds good, and your voice is amazing. The uniqueness of this show made it stand out, for me the sound effects were on an 8 and I was good with about a 6.

While celebrities can get away with chit-chat longer than normal Joe Schmoe, I was bored and didn't get most of the inside jokes. I would move the chit-chat to the show's end for the super fans.
This is probably one of those shows that, if you listen to a few, you start to get the inside jokes, but for me, I would be settings overcast or castsmatic to start about five minutes in (something I also do for Conan Obrien Needs a Friend).

The graphics and branding are spot on. You are leaning hard into the "Spooky" theme of the show. The audio sounds great. You did a good job of pulling us in and made me wonder why someone would quit after two episodes.

For me, introduce the show, and then the episode. You pulled me in and I REALLY wanted to hear what messed up this show, and you kept feeding me more information that I felt we didn't need. Do we need the backstory of the hosts to understand why they quit their show?
Also, on your ad for your company you might switch up the music as I thought it was just "Part of the show" Also, the whole raising and lowering of the music got on my nerves after a while.
In the end, it just moved to slow for me.

The music at the beginning for nothing seems weird. Put a voiceover on that and announce what the show is about and what is coming up in the episode.
The first host's microphone is a little muddy. I would look into an ATR 2100X or a Samson Q2U.
Then you took EIGHT MINUTES to get to something that resembled the title of the episode. You spent most of that 8 minutes begging for donations. Followed by the other host ASKING FOR DONATIONS. Do this at the end of the show AFTER you've delivered VALUE. You don't benefit until your audience benefits (and only 3% if you're good will donate).

You made me think, and your content showcased your knowledge in a way that made me feel you really know your stuff. Your website is listed in the app, and the episodes are on your website to boost SEO. Also, I love that your site has follow buttons on the front page.
What I Thought Could Use Some Polishing
The music is too loud in your opening (just a touch). Your microphone needs a tweak. I would add just a pinch of treble (which would help your voice cut through over the music) and maybe just a bit of bass.
I get that you added a note to the show after you recorded, BUT the audio was about a five on a scale from 1 to 10, with the air conditioner (or whatever it was ) being very loud. Unfortunately, this is the first audio I heard, and I was worried that this was the audio quality for the show. It wasn't, but I would've tuned out if I had not been reviewing the show.

The part of the intro where you are naming the jobs of the guests was not needed in my book. Any kind of music fading was pretty harsh in both cases, and you read her very long LinkedIn Bio. I would much rather hear the part of her bio around today's subject and why the host is excited to have her.
You then asked questions that delivered no value to my life. You got me excited to talk about controversial topics, and instead, I'm getting into the guest's story. People don't care (it sounds harsh, but it's true) about someone until they give them a reason to care. Get to the topic; then, AFTER they deliver VALUE, you can get into their story.

The music on the introduction is a little high. The audio quality is about a 2 on a scale from one to ten. This is due to background noise that was then attempted to be dampened by an over aggressive noise gate which actually ends up drawing more attention to the sound of the audio.
You are reading a script, and while some will tolerate that, I would rather hear someone just talk to me like I'm sitting across the desk. Podcasts are a time-shifted conversation with your audience.
To fix the audio, I would get something like a Samson Q2U or an AT 2100X and have that about three finger widths from your mouth (with a windscreen on it) see https://youtu.be/faTh-FR_1p8
Then turn off whatever is making the noise and record at a level between -6 and -12.

I thought it odd that your first question seemed like a quiz for your guest. Why not just quote the person you wanted to remember and ask the question? Also, did we need the history of the pirate studio?
Your description needs work. You assume your audience (and I may not be in that group) knows your references. We help (your audience) do (what they do) so they can (benefit). The phrase that caught my eye was storytelling. Also no app will make a link in your description clickable. I haven't heard a word from you; why are you pitching me? Put the link in the episode description.

The commentary on the wrestling was great with showing pros and cons. This isn't just a fanboy show. The audio that was good, was good, and the audio that was bad was distractingly bad (but easy to fix).
I like that you were editing the show. It shows you care (more about that in a second).
What I Thought Could Use Some Polishing
The introduction of the co-hosts had a long tangent. All we need to do is connect the name with a voice. Then put any "what's up with you" at the show's end. People tuned in to talk about wrestling, not baseball.
The sign of a good edit is you can't tell it is edited. This was not the case. Your edits were obvious and made me scratch my head (as, in one case, you could've started later and skipped the whole stammering part).
The person from the UK is way too far away from the microphone and probably using a Blue Yeti microphone (See video on how to use it properly).

For me, I don't think you need the interview snippet as you did a good job of explaining why your guest was on the show. You did a good job of explaining that this was not just about books. The professional introduction gave me a good idea of what to expect. You started off with the back story of the guest (which took a while) and then you wanted the back story of how he got involved in books. I loved the way you started the show with the tease from Diane, and then you REALLY engaged the theater of the mind. I could see the plane on the highway on fire. You had informed us of the stakes as the plane was on fire, and people were dead. You really pulled me into the story. Then you took a hard right to do some housekeeping. Then you went back to Diane and started from the beginning of the story. I'm not sure how to "fix" this. You did a great job with the story as a tease, but almost too good (maybe make the setup shorter?) or just start the interview with Diane at the time of the wreck (instead of the details of the type of plane, and where she lived, etc).I've listened to the episode (full) already and I did love that as I was listening I knew Diane (obviously) had lived, but I wasn't sure if she could walk or not. You kept me guessing and wondering "what happens next?." I would move the housekeeping either to "post-interview" or do it before you start anything about the story (which would not be my first choice). For me the problem was you did too good a job creating a theater of the mind of the crash at the beginning.

I also am not sure I can take the fake robot voice. I liked the intro, it was short and to the point and I knew what the show was about and who it was made for. Dave is VERY high energy (and when his guest wasn't it makes him appear even more hyper). He asked good questions (although they had a ton of setup) but his guest didn't do a very good job and admittedly took a tangent. I would've somehow fixed that in post and edited that out or somehow kept her on track. I love that he has how many reviews he has on his website (even though reviews do nothing for you - they are just social proof) and the number is wrong (which somewhat hurts your credibility).Once I got used to Dave's voice, I can see myself listening to this show (or at least giving another episode a try - he has good titles).

Then you start off the show with a VERY long commercial for CBD stuff with a name NOBODY will be able to spell. You follow up the VERY long commercial with ANOTHER Commercial for Podcoin. I'm three minutes in and you've done nothing to tease me into staying, and I haven't made it to the podcast so I'm gone. You audience quality is tolerable but ditch the Blue snowball, get a Samson Q2U (see my gear guide) and get close to the microphone and get a pop filter.YOU ARE NOT JOE ROGAN. Just cause Joe can start off his show with seven minutes of commercials does not mean you can start your show off with three minutes of commercials because YOU ARE NOT JOE ROGAN.

I like, no, I LOVE the snarkiness. The garbage thing is somewhat confusing but ok. The music you have has lyrics and makes my head explode trying to listen to the song and your voice at the same time. I liked the story and your vulnerability. You are right on the edge of a plosive problem where you pop your B's and P's. Point the butt of your microphone at 2 O Clock and the front of the mic at the CORNER of your mouth. Then say Happy Peanut Butter or Bobby puts pizza in his pants. If you don't hear plosives you're good.I do look down and see there is another 40 minutes to go. You're off to a good start. As you're telling stories, you might want to check out the book Storyworthy by Mathew Dicks. You can get it at Amazon or for free at Audible.

When I met Dr. Abby at podcast movement she seemed to have all the qualities of a great podcaster:- She wants to serve her audience She always wants to deliver value She knows her target audience She know what the goal of the podcast is
I like the intro and how she gets into the topic. She has a lot of research to back up her points. I like that she isn't reading a script to me, and seems to be having fun. For me, when I get a point I'm ready to move on and maybe I catch on quicker than her target audience, but I was ready for her second point. This wasn't a deal-breaker, and typically I listen to podcasts at 1.5 speed so I could wait for her. The only other (nitpicky) thing is her sound had more than average amounts of room noise that might be easily fixed. All in all, I want to listen to the rest of the episde.Get A Full Review

The introduction and production were AMAZING. It sounded SUPER professional. Then you mentioned it had been a while. Then you got into a conversation about how many times you did or did not watch the show in preparation for the next season. We don't care. We don't care if you watched it 1, 5, or 10 times. What we want is your analysis. You did a GREAT job of teasing the content. I wanted to hear about Reddit, and easter eggs, and instead, we're talking about the type of TV you have. The intro "tease" clip was WAY too long. Then the intro of the show wasn't bad, but then you went and on and on and on about Converge. We don't know what converge is, and we got the gist its a mission for Christ. You didn't introduce your guest at all, and then let him somewhat tell his story, very slowly, about how he got into missions. I would take the story you got from the interview and condense it and use it in your introduction of your guest, and if the goal if this podcast is to entice people to join, we got to get to the "adventure" part of these stories. We have to spotlight the stories of changing people's lives, of the amazing things you see, of the amazing places you see. Not how a man walked to his mailbox to get a postcard.The volume levels are all over the place. The host is MUCH louder than the guest. The music at times came in a bit hot. This is easily solved by adjusting the volumes before exporting the mp3, or by running your file through a system such as auphonic.com. As I was listening to it started to rain very hard hear and while I had no issues hearing the host, I had to truly focus to hear and understand the guest.
The audio quality of the host was fine - the volume just didn't match the other elements in the episode. I'm sure you have great content, but you need to think about the goal of the podcast and how the stories of the guest align with the goal of the podcast. Lastly, you have a weird capital "Y" in the middle of your description.

You waste no time getting to the content. I am not a history nerd, and I am not intrigued by portmanteaus, and I don't care about Brexit - hence I'm not your target audience. This IS SUPER NICHE and it will be fun to watch if this catches on. There may be history/English/wordsmiths that really love this stuff (I'm just not one of them). I was really impressed with the knowledge of the hosts. I was a little confused by the "My name is but you can call me_." All in all a good first impression. I liked the table of contents at the beginning. Crazy Train" really knows his stuff. The only thing I was confused about is why you say your name and then say "but people call me ____" Pick a name and go with it. As the artwork and the majority of the show was about Marvel, I would've put it first and talked James Bond second.Crazy Train's audio is somewhat muffled, but not bad (your audio was amazing). I can tell he has some sort of noise gate on.

The show sounded great. I loved the intro and how things kept moving. You did a nice job of creating a table of contents. If I was a mom, I would ADORW this show as toys are expensive and you don't want to put out $50 on a poopsie to find out its a horrible toy. Your one co-host is on the phone. I would look at any other option ( Squadcast, Skype, something)
By the end, you started to get into some decent content, but there was no setup. It sounded like you called up our best friend for a chat and decided to release it to the world with zero planning. If you had said "Welcome to the Wedge (and introduce yourselves) today we are going to talk about _____, then I can decide if that topic interests me. You both have chemistry (which you need to watch as you both know each other and you need to remember your audience doesn't). The intro was good and got me excited about the guest. You explained this was recorded on the road, so I expected some noisey audio. This could've used with a little editing as all the information that was covered in the introduction was then repeated in the beginning of the interview. A better first question would've been tell use about wpscan (instead of his background cause we just heard that - no need for a repeat). In the end, when I pressed stop I wanted to hear the rest and that's what counts. I did play around with the audio to show you that it is possible to clean this up. I also showed how instead of having 10 seconds of music for the sake of nothing, you can use it to fade in and be more of a transition that flows better.Get A Full Review

The intro had the voice so low I couldn't hear it when you said "Good Patron." I liked that you had a nice table of contents. You explained how UTR needs 14K, and then played your spotlight artist which sounded like the music I produced when I was 14. The drum machine is absolutely awful for today's technology. It may be that I'm a musician, but I think even nonmusicians would admit that the drums didn't sound like anything from technology produced in the last 10 years. WOW that was bad. My worry is this is the SPOTLIGHT artist, and if this is the music that UTR wants me to contribute to, no thank you. The reason bands like Stryper had mainstream success was their music was sounded like it was recorded in a studio (not a basement).I really liked your tip about Spotify and it brought the content back to the original concept of the show (supporting musicians). I liked this as I had run out of ideas after, "Buy their music, and buy their merch."
So fix your intro and maybe be a bit more selective on your spotlight artists, and you've got a nice niche show.

I liked the sound quality and passion. The show started off with a quota about Jazz. You explained where this podcast is conversations but not for the next three episodes. Then you mentioned marketing. There was a fair amount of "We talked about this," and "In the future, we're going to" to the point that I had lost focus of what this episode was about (Poetry). The history part of your episode didn't really have much of a story to suck me in. I did LOVE the passion in your voice when you said: "Poetry was MINE." I'm just not sure I needed to know who played the tube. There were no hurdles, or "Wait till you hear this?" in that story. You don't explain what KDOI stands for at the beginning, and letter your throw out the "Kimo’s Den Of Iniquity" and I didn't connect that to KDOI. It sounds like I tuned into a BDSM podcast. My overall emotion upon listening to this was confusion. Possibly a better tease up front (instead of your favorite Jazz song) would've been "Today I'm going to tell you about setting up your poetry toolbaox" (which you never mentioned - yet it's the title of the episode).Get A Full Review

You have a serious branding issue. The show is called Work 2.0 but you introduce your show as HR Tips. The intro music is a bit loud. You have an accent, and while you're not hard to understand the music made me strain to hear you (and you could fade out sooner). Your introduction seemed like you were unsure of where you were going. This is your intro and needs to be clear and concise. You kept saying things like "You know" and I don't know. I believe the whole point of the episode is businesses want you to make sure the employees are not a liability, and the HR person needs to address the human side. You started to talk about an example, but give me a SPECIFIC example so I can start using the theater of the mind. I can hear the passion in your voice that you want to serve both the business and the human side of HR, but I was confused as to wear I was going.You might consider stating that as one sentence. Today we are going to talk about the biggest problem in HR __. You've seen it where_____. How do you handle that? We'll discuss it today on (whatever the name of your show is).
You're using Soundcloud and they are a bad media host. As Apple continues to add new features, I would recommend switching to Libsyn.com using the coupon code sopfree to get a free month of hosting. Soundcloud is more of a music platform and is really outdated in regards to podcast hosting.
You seem to need a nudge in the right direction, you might consider joining the School of Podcasting

Back in April, I reviewed this show, and Moxie has taken my advice and wants a second opinion. I liked that about the time I wanted the voice over to start, it did. The story had some interesting facts that really surprised me (especially since we're talking about New York). I asked Moxie what she did to correct her audio, and my guess was right she had applied just a tad too much noise reduction which can wreck your audio. I thought it sounded fine. I also thinks she does a great job of reading the script but not putting me to sleep.Get A Full Review

I loved the production, and it made me smile hearing some of Pink Floyd's music in a podcast. The pace was a little slow, and I'm not sure I'm really interested in the shop where the guitar was purchased. I did like that the interviewer got to an interesting story where Pink Floyd had some gear stolen. As a guitar player I want to hear him demo the guitar. Give me some licks that aren't on a CD (or play something that IS on a CD and give me the story). I don't really care about the store it was purchased form. How does a sing not have good mic technique and end up with Popping P's? I was worried when I heard the 100% scripted intro. I thought "Oh no, is he going to read the whole thing?" He doesn't which is good. He has a co-host who is interviewing him. I thought it started slow. I guess we need to explain that this is about his solo career. I like that he said it was completely self-indulgent (that was funny), but this is ROBERT FRICKIN PLANT. I thought he might do a "behind the music" type story, or some "tales from the road." To be honest, I'm not sure what they were talking about but I do know it wasn't holding my attention. This is Robert Plant and we're talking about his wide range of musical influences? Anybody who knows the guy who was in the band that wrote "Going to California," Immigrant Song" and "Cashmire" has a wide variety of music tastes. There are probably great stories in this podcast, but they didn't build a bridge to it. I am glad to hear there wasn't a meundies commercial or geico in the first five minutes. The bottom line is when I clicked stopped, I didn't want to hear the end of whatever they were talking about.Get A Full Review

The intro music goes on FOREVER and when you come in, you're not loud enough and you sound like you're a mile away from the microphone (the guest sounds better than you do). The intro was somewhat ruined by Justin's horrible audio quality. It sounds like he is five feet from the microphone. Joe is the guest and he had better audio quality. You don't need to spend a ton of cash, but a Samson Q2U (www.schoolofpodcasting.com/q2u or www.schoolofpodcasting.com/q2upackage ) is a great microphone and would boost the quality quickly. I like the chemistry and the passion for Pez. You have the curse of knowledge here. You know how Joe is and seem excited that he is on your show and you start talking about his videos and other things assuming the audience:- Knows who he is (we don't) Have seen his videos (we haven't) Know what Joe WHAT! is (we don't)
So if you had explained who he is, why he is interesting, and why you are having him on your show. You didn't get to the first Pez question until about four minutes in. When he had issues with his headphones that could've easily been edited out, and his story could've have been tightened up. This wasn't horrible but would make a better flow of the podcast. I did an episodeon editing at www.schoolofpodcasting.com/665There was a fair amount of information on "Joe What?" instead of the Pez talk (you didn't bring him on to talk about Joe What did you?).
With improved audio quality, and a little more focus and editing, this could be a great show for the Pez Community.

Starting off the show asking for a review to start a podcast is a horrible way to start a show (FYI Reviews have NOTHING to do with rankings in Apple Podcasts - subscribers do). There was a lot of insights into opinions, and what seemed like "theory" and I would've preferred going right to the meat and potatoes about how Google doesn't work on opinion searches. The audio quality is about a five as there is a ton of room noise. I would recommend getting closer to the microphone and if you're using something like a Blu Yeti learn how to use it properly. For you didn't do a horrible job of reading, but it was obvious you were reading. The pace was thought out, but it seemed a little slow to me.Get A Full Review

I really liked your intro and your description. I thought the music was a little loud over the intro music. Your first question of "what's new" could have gone horribly wrong, and keep in mind I didn't tune into to hear about your quests travels. You then did a "Hey that is interesting (we know we heard it to) and then the worlds longest setup for the next question. This just kind of slowed down the flow of information and the show and while it started off good, it kind of left me "meh" and I was looking more for stories of AI in the consumer world. The intro didn't really set me up. It let me know we were going to talk about sex, and then in a "Hey if Joe Rogan can do it so can we" you front-loaded a bunch of ads. Then instead of getting to the show, you do an intro that I felt took forever to get to the "Welcome to the show and all of the sudden we switch hosts, with no real introduction of the show or the topic or who the guest is. For me, I couldn't figure out is this was indeed a Christian show, or someone lining up to make fun of Christians. So, in the end, I didn't hate it, but they didn't pull me in.Get A Full Review

A really nice job of introducing the show, and then an ad for your studio. Then a very, very strange introduction of your quest with half stories, and other content that would be great to hear from the guest (instead of you talking about the guest talking about stuff). You also double introduced the show. You welcomed us to the podcast and then welcomed us to episode three (I didn't go anywhere). Then just about the time you get to the guest you ask for support. Support for what? What value have you supplied? Get to the guest quicker. I liked the idea of this episode, and you started off the show with a quick introduction. The audio sounded good. The thing that (once it caught my ear) I couldn't unhear was the amount of "umming" (Your guest especially). It has a great first impression as he gives you a nice table of contents, and gets to the stories. When the story is done, he moves on. I LOVE the SNARK, and he makes some REALLY good points (especially on the Alex Jones story - while avoiding being political). He breaks complex stories down to bite-sized chunks (I loved his episode on Article 11, or 17, or whatever nonsense is going on in the UK). For a sixth episode, this isn't bad. I felt the music was a little loud on your intro, but I was glad to hear a nice explanation of the podcast, and a nice tease on the guest. When you switched to talking about your guest your audio quality got slightly worse, but nothing too bad (but whatever did, don't do that). You also lost most of your energy when you switched to OBVIOUSLY reading. You also were talking about a race and in some cases described the race, but as I'm not familiar with the town or race, this didn't work for me. Tell me what is different about this race, but I don't need turn by turn directions. Those don't work on an audio podcast.If you're going to script your show the key is to write exactly like you talk and 100% ignore punctuation. Then when you read it, put a little more fluctuation in your voice. I know you are worried about sounding "fake" but go to "fake/radio voice" and then back it down a little. You naturally back it down a little so you will end up with more energy.

Chris and Brandon met in the shadows of Doak Campbell Stadium in 2007. Through many years of friendship and story-swapping, the idea of the Florida Focus Podcast came about after they realized each conversation on the topic was worth sharing.

The intro music is waaaay long. The audio starts good, but then Chris comes on and sounds like he is four feet from the microphone. I understand he has kids in the background who won't always stay quiet, but by using proper microphone technique this would solve a lot of issues. You promise an award show a spend a LOT of time talking about how the "sausage is made." How do you feel about this episode? What is Chris supposed to say, "I'm bored?" Then you get intro criteria, etc. Get to the awards and then you talk about how the awards were determined and the criteria. Your description has the whole backstory of how you met in 2007. We don't care. What is the show, and why should I listen?All in all, I never made it to an award as you kept asking about how your host felt about different awards. In my opinion, (and that is all this is) if you're going to ask that, ask it AFTER you give the award. The audience wants to hear who won. In the same way that we hate all witty banter at ANY award, we just want to hear who won, get to the awards.
So I would update my description, get Chris to learn some proper recording technique ( see http://www.podcastrodeoshow.com/podcast-gear/ ), and get to the meat and potatoes as soon as possible, and get to all the how the sausage was made conversation later after you've served the meat and potatoes.

I liked that you got through the introductions and the audio sounds good. The introduction lets me know what to expect and you did a nice job giving a "Table of contents" and let me know what was coming. So far so good. Then instead of getting to the planned content, you decide to talk about the water cooler story. Along the way, the storyteller gets interrupted nonstop for somewhat obvious jokes. While I could identify with the story (we've all been there) but nothing really "Holy cow" happened with this story. I'm not sure I would've made this the lead story.I liked that it's obvious you guys put some thought into the episode, and into the audio quality, for me, it derailed with the episode. It wasn't horrible, but as a comedy show, I expected a laugh and it didn't make me laugh. It did make me smile.

One of the things that may be an issue is this show is depressing. It's about people who died too soon. The audio level was WAAAAY TOO LOW. I mean I really had to turn it up to hear it. You did a good job of getting right to the story. You do sound (very much) like you are reading. Some people won't mind that and others will. Also, you may want to go to www.coolerwebsites.com and order a domain and point it at your podbean site just to look a little more professional (it's less than $20 a year). All in all a good bite-sized chunk. You explain what the show is about and get right to the content. You deliver a strategy and explain how it's working. Any advice I have is nitpicking. You used the word "Camcorder" and I thought that made you sound a little dated. The only other thing I had was there is a slight buzz in the background of your audio, and an ever so slight "Popping P" trying to sneak through. Your audio could also be louder. Your audio is at -12 and that should be up around -6 to -3. Another strategy would be instead of the into fading away to silence and then you start, have the music fade out as you start to talk as this is a more transitional flow. For a third episode, this is not bad. You have a "Popping P" problem that can be fixed by pointing the microphone at the corner of your mouth instead of talking directly into it, or by getting a pop filter (or both) see the gear guide at http://www.podcastrodeoshow.com/podcast-gear/ I would rearrange your topics and get to the interview and put the report on the meetup toward the end for the super fans. The interview audio quality was much worse than the intro. There was a lot of room noise. When you do interview every person involved with the interview should have a microphone (not one microphone in the middle of the table). You might extend the beginning of your intro music, do the tease over that music and then BOOM right into the intro. Now you are doing the tease over one music bed, and then you have music and then the intro. Another alternative is to have no music as you start the show with the introduction of the topic and fade intro music in as you finish the topic introduction. This way when you get done with the tease, the voice over person welcomes you to the show. These are just little changes thataffectt flow, not that yours was horrible, but these little tweaks keep the show moving.Get A Full Review
