In this episode of "Reality Check," Ross Coulthart sits down with Robert S. Martinez, a retired employment lawyer whose book, "My Most Unusual Client: The Shocking Truth of the Alien Agenda," recounts a case he took on in Albuquerque, New Mexico, in 1996. Martinez describes a client from Alamogordo, whose name attorney-client privilege still keeps confidential, who said he spent nearly 50 years with a government contractor at the White Sands Missile Range, first monitoring space and later helping coordinate the retrieval of crashed craft.
The client spoke of photographs from the 1947 Roswell crash and of American fighter jets lost in confrontations with unidentified craft, beginning in the Korean War and returning in the 1990s with encounters near commercial airliners over New Mexico. Martinez recounts bringing the case to Congressman Steven Schiff, who was pressing the Air Force for its Roswell records at the time. Within days of that meeting his client was dead and Martinez traces what followed, from a stolen case file to two incidents that put him and his girlfriend in the hospital.

The White House on Friday released the latest tranche of declassified UFO files that includes information about recent incursions over U.S. military sites. Some of the documents date back to the 1940s, 1950s and 1960s, but perhaps the most intriguing records on “unidentified anomalous phenomena” are from this year. They include three separate reports describing what the FBI and the Pentagon call a black, triangle-shaped craft flying over sensitive military sites. The object reportedly flew at an elevation of 200 to 300 feet and measured about 9-feet long, with a wingspan of approximately 13 feet.
The craft traveled roughly a mile and a half in less than three seconds while flying near military personnel. It reportedly had no obvious propulsion mechanism and produced no sound or lights. Some officials interviewed about the sightings said the U.S. may still be years away from developing technology comparable to what military personnel reported seeing with their own eyes. Other documents in Friday’s file release include reports of cylinder-shaped flying objects dating back to the 1960s and 1970s in Saudi Arabia, Sweden and other locations. Many of those records have never been declassified until now.

In this episode of "Reality Check," Ross Coulthart sits down with Mike Morgan, a former senior investigating officer with 30 years in British policing and the author of "The Silence is Deafening," and Liberty, a plane spotter who lives near Royal Air Force Lakenheath. The conversation centers on the objects reported over Lakenheath, Mildenhall, Feltwell and Fairford in November 2024, which officials called drones without naming an operator or releasing a single photograph.
Morgan explains what his Freedom of Information requests turned up, from a police helicopter's near-miss report to an investigation staffed by part-time officers who, by his account, made no inquiries of local drone operators. Coulthart presses both men on the case for Russian or Chinese involvement and on why bases associated with nuclear weapons might draw that kind of attention. Liberty describes the silent craft that crossed his field the day before the incursions began and the radio call he says he heard from one of the pilots sent up to chase them.

In this episode of "Reality Check," Ross Coulthart sits down with Jeffrey J. Kripal, the J. Newton Rayzor Chair in Philosophy and Religious Thought at Rice University and host of the new six-part series "Archive X: Unexplained Phenomena." Kripal oversees Rice's Center for the Impossible, formerly the Archives of the Impossible, a collection that holds the papers of John Mack and Jacques Vallée among more than a million items on telepathy, near-death experience, abduction and precognition.
The conversation opens with the nonverbal autistic children of the series' first episode and the place they call the hill. Then, moves to the abduction account of Karin Austin, the artist Andrew Paquette's dreams of disasters that later happened and Kripal's argument that the brain is a receiver of consciousness rather than its producer. Coulthart puts the harder questions to Kripal, including why a nonhuman intelligence would block a witness's memory, whether a future human civilization is behind the encounters and what to make of Christian arguments that the phenomenon is demonic. In this episode of "Reality Check," Ross Coulthart sits down with astrophysicist Dr. Beatriz Villarroel, founder of the VASCO project at Nordita in Stockholm, and Vanderbilt's Dr. Stephen Bruehl, whose new paper suggests something in near-Earth space was flashing sunlight onto the photographic plates at Palomar Observatory years before Sputnik ever reached orbit. Projected back down to the ground, those flashes don't scatter at random. They cluster over some very familiar places, including the Pacific off Southern Mexico near where the Nimitz Tic-Tac encounter took place in 2004, the southern Gulf of Mexico off Tampico and the American Southwest around Sedona and White Sands Missile Range.
The nuclear connection gets even stranger. On the night before Castle Yankee, the 13.5-megaton hydrogen bomb detonated at Bikini Atoll in May 1954, 203 high-probability transients appeared over the Pacific, while the transients tied to Nevada tests fell over Arizona and New Mexico instead.
Coulthart plays the debunker for much of the hour, pressing the pair on plate defects, cosmic rays, radioactive fallout, survey bias and whether enough statistical tests will always turn up a hit. They also discuss independent work by former Hubble scientist Ivo Busko, whose plates from a German observatory show the same spike in transients on April 4, 1956, that appears in the Palomar data. By the end, Villarroel says she believes they're looking at some kind of surveillance system, Bruehl puts the odds of nonhuman monitoring at better than 50% and both confirm the three-letter agencies have taken notice.

They discuss the final volume, "Forbidden Science 7." Vallée describes the data warehouse of some 260,000 sightings he built for the Bigelow Aerospace project funded by the Defense Intelligence Agency, why the work was cut off after roughly three years before the analysis he designed could run and the fact he has never been debriefed from his clearance.
He walks Ross through his correspondence with a master remote viewer he calls "Gilbert," who describes being taken inside a laboratory built into a mountain and brought face to face with a living nonhuman entity that answered in configurations of light. He also tells Ross that he once came face to face with an entity himself. Vallée says a member in good standing of the National Academy of Sciences told him the academy was warned it could lose funding if it moved into the subject, and after sixty years of investigation, he has concluded that nobody is actually in charge of the phenomenon inside the U.S. government.
The conversation closes on a 1966 Louisiana case in which a physics professor watched an object radiate energy on the order of a nuclear power station and on the piece of tree bark Vallée has kept ever since, waiting for a way to test it that does not cut into the wood.

His 2019 peer-reviewed paper in the journal Entropy estimated the 2004 Nimitz Tic-Tac at thousands of G with no sonic boom, no exhaust and no heat signature.
Knuth opens with the anomalous experiences that shaped him long before physics, from a childhood intuition on a Wisconsin bench seat to the night he and his toddler son both saw a boy standing at a bedroom gate in their Albany home. The conversation moves through the 1988 Montana cattle mutilations, the Malmstrom missile shutdowns and Knuth's own hypothesis for how a craft warping spacetime could knock out an ICBM's navigation system, and his account that AARO had a copy of his paper two months before Sean Kirkpatrick told the Senate no such peer-reviewed work existed.
He describes sonar data from a New Zealand Navy frigate showing an 800-foot object closing 2.5 kilometers in 25 seconds underwater, the UAPx sensor network now deploying radar and RF spectrum analysis in Connecticut, and the limits already placed on the new UAP Science Advisory Council, which has been told it will see only unclassified material. Asked what he wants most, Knuth says he would like to stand inside one of these crafts, and he has spoken with people who say it's possible.

In this episode of "Reality Check," Ross Coulthart sits down with inspector Roy Teague, a serving West Midlands Police tactical firearms commander whose new book, "Close Encounters of the Police Kind," collects unidentified aerial phenomenon encounters from about 250 British police officers. Teague explains how a 2016 documentary on UAP over American missile fields led him to ask which witnesses the public would find hardest to dismiss and why he concluded the answer was serving police.
The conversation works through his strongest cases, among them a metropolitan police helicopter crew and an Army warrant officer who watched a dart-shaped aircraft over central London accelerate away and disappear into an opening in the sky in July 1997; an off-duty constable who lost two and a half hours on the A14 with his wife, his children and the family dog; and a Grampian officer whose MRI shows a small metallic object behind his right eye. Teague also details the pressure that follows these sightings, from a colleague grounded and quietly debriefed by the RAF at a private address in Croydon, to the senior officers who advised him to pick another subject to write about. Of the officers who came to him, all but nine agreed to be named and Teague argues the ridicule attached to this subject is exactly why so few of these accounts have ever surfaced.

In this episode of "Reality Check," Ross Coulthart sits down with Daryl Johnson, the former senior security specialist at the U.S. Nuclear Regulatory Commission, who spent more than a decade monitoring and trending every reported drone and UAP flyover at America's commercial nuclear power plants. Johnson reveals that close to 300 flyovers were logged between 2014 and 2025, with fewer than one percent ever traced back to an operator, and that the vast majority of plants still have no no-fly zone, no radar and no aerial detection requirement of any kind.
Johnson recounts the incidents that defied a conventional drone explanation, including a black triangle that hovered over Pennsylvania's Susquehanna plant for more than two hours in 2022 and a December 2024 incident near Virginia's Surry plant in which lights vanished and reappeared a mile away within seconds before ascending out of sight. Johnson also describes the resistance he met inside the NRC when he pushed for UAP reporting guidance, and the AARO data request that first put the phenomenon on his desk. His conclusion, drawn from his new book "Unguarded Skies," is blunt: something is observing us and we don't know what it is or who controls it.

Something metallic turned up under a garden in a quiet Tallinn suburb in 1969, and the Soviets spent the next twenty years trying to get it out, bringing in excavators and scientists and military, borrowing the house from its owners and living in it, digging on and off until perestroika ended the whole effort and they walked away. Astrophysicist Dr. Beatriz Villarroel and Ocean X co-founder Dennis Åsberg went to that address to find out what is still down there. Nobody came to the door, but the neighbor who had watched all of it from his window talked to them for an hour.
This is their full conversation with Ross Coulthart, recorded for "Secret Soviet UFOs" and running well past what the special had room for. Villarroel walks through the peer-reviewed work that brought her to Estonia, highly reflective objects photographed in orbit years before anyone on Earth had launched a satellite, and why she thinks the same search belongs in the ground. Åsberg ties Merivälja to the Baltic Sea anomaly his team found on sonar roughly 300 kilometers away and argues that both could predate the last ice age. Between them, they count five European cases and will not give up the coordinates of one of them. What nobody can answer yet is what sits under that garden, and the only thing that would settle it is ground-penetrating radar in the yard of a man who has already told them no.

In this episode of "Reality Check," Ross Coulthart sits down with Estonian filmmaker and author Mart Sander, whose new book, "Object M: Estonia's Buried Mystery," traces one of the strangest and least understood cases in Europe. In 1969, a man drilling a well in the Tallinn suburb of Merivälja struck something solid roughly seven meters down, and the fragments he broke loose eventually reached Soviet laboratories that concluded the alloy could not have been produced on this planet.
Sander walks Coulthart through the two decades of excavation that followed, the shafts sunk under the garden, the KGB files stamped top secret and the researchers who reported burns, blackouts and stranger effects the closer they got to whatever sits beneath the upper layer. He also lays out the counterarguments, from the meteorite explanation to the claim this is a forgotten first World War superalloy buried in a hurry, and explains why the physical evidence points in two directions more than a 100,000 years apart.
What neither man can account for is why, years after the Soviets left Estonia, two strangers turned up at the homeowner's door with a suitcase of cash for a small suburban house that nobody had ever proven held anything at all.

Dr. Phil explains why an administration weighing disclosure went looking for a trusted voice rather than an astrophysicist, and what changed his mind once he started reading the government's own words: from Lt. General Nathan Twining's 1947 assessment that the phenomenon was something real and not visionary, to the 1949 classified conference at Los Alamos convened over sightings above America's nuclear weapons sites, to the CIA's Robertson Panel strategy of publicizing cases already debunked and saying nothing about the ones that weren't, to the JANAP directives that put military and commercial pilots under threat of prison, heavy fines and the Espionage Act for describing what they saw.
He tells Coulthart the imagery released so far is intentionally grainy, that far better gun camera video and radar tracks exist and that Reps. Tim Burchett and Anna Paulina Luna are helping him press for their release. Drawing on close to 50 years of sitting with people through the worst losses a person can absorb, Dr. Phil rejects the argument that Americans are too fragile to be told, calling it a patronizing view, while arguing the government owes real support to the people who will struggle with it. Two things he says he will state with confidence to the American public: There has been a huge cover-up and there are things in our atmosphere we cannot explain and did not build.

Burlison describes the material he was shown inside an SCIF, footage and imagery that remain closed to the public, and recounts watching plasma-like orbs move with an intelligence and instantaneous acceleration the intelligence community itself cannot explain but speculate to be the same objects FBI field agents reported seeing when they responded to sightings at residential locations and a western military facility last December.
The conversation turns to the machinery of secrecy, with Burlison arguing the Manhattan Project taught the government how to bury a program inside federally funded research centers, and detailing the interrogatories he has sent to MITRE, MIT Lincoln Laboratory, the CIA and the FBI, including a reel-to-reel recording of a U.S. Air Force general questioning MIT scientists about the 1952 Washington flyover that Lincoln Laboratory is now in the process of declassifying. Coulthart and Burlison weigh whether an 82-year-old secret can hold, why declassification never happens on its own and what it would mean for a congressman of deep faith to confront the ontological shock of disclosure. Burlison does not hedge on the stakes, telling Ross that revealing what is behind this would be the greatest revelation since Jesus Christ and offering his read on whether the Trump White House intends to deliver it.

The premise is almost entirely unexamined. Governments plan for pandemics, natural disasters and mass-casualty events, but nothing in any national framework prepares ordinary people for the psychological and social fallout of learning that humanity is not alone. UNHIdden takes no position on whether confirmatory information sits inside a classified program. Their case rests on the precautionary principle: the potential scale of the public response is large, the preparedness gap is real and the cost of preparing for an event that may never come is modest next to the cost of being unprepared. The report borrows tools from pandemic preparedness, disaster mental health and crisis communication.
Ross and his guests work through that framework. They define ontological shock, the disorientation a person feels when the ground assumptions of their reality give way, and trace why the mental health toll of a societal trauma so often outlasts the physical one. The conversation covers the institutional history that built the stigma, including the Robertson Panel and the decision to make ridicule a matter of policy and the lasting damage institutional betrayal does once a public learns it was misled. Dr. Abbas, a practicing GP, describes what it is like to sit across from an experiencer whose first words are almost always a version of "I'm not crazy, but I know you'll think I am."
The two men map the high-risk groups who could struggle most, from committed skeptics and the religiously devout to experiencers and the already vulnerable, and explain the population strategy at the center of the plan, drawn from epidemiologist Geoffrey Rose, that lifting whole-society resilience even slightly does more aggregate good than concentrating on the most severely affected. Ross presses them on the hardest scenarios, a craft down in Hyde Park, the question of religious confrontation and whether a government still managing a half-truth does more harm than the full truth would. The episode closes on consciousness, near-death research and the possibility that simply talking about all of this openly, now, is the gentlest way to prepare.
