It’s not every day you get to chat with one of your heroes, but it’s even more fun when that hero is your cousin! JT and I laugh about how weird it is that we're all grown up now. I love having him on the show today - He has an incredible story of how one conversation with his mom led him to a firehouse, a calling to serve, and a career that's making a difference every day.

Ever wonder if you're missing your "big calling" while just trying to survive Monday morning? In this honest and laughter-filled conversation with Luke Smallbone of for KING + COUNTRY, Erica discovers that faithfulness in the little things may be exactly where God wants us to start.

From powerful thoughts on encouragement and purpose to a touching story about saying yes to Jesus at age eight, Luke shares the kind of wisdom that feels like a conversation with a trusted friend. Plus, his heartfelt message to a young fan who has walked through serious health challenges is a beautiful reminder that God can bring purpose, hope, and light even through life's hardest seasons.

It's impossible not to pause and reflect on the courage, sacrifice, and selfless service of so many heroes on this 25th anniversary of 9/11. South King Fire Chief Ryan Woodey is here with me, sharing why remembering these moments matters, what inspires people to answer the call to serve, and how simple acts of gratitude can make a difference.

Click PLAY for a powerful reminder that when we put others before ourselves, we reflect the love, compassion, and servant-hearted example that Jesus showed us every day.

Talking with Tony Evans feels like a full-circle moment for me. As a new believer at 16, I learned so much from his teaching on the radio, so sitting down with him years later is a reminder of how faithfully God works across generations.

Click PLAY to listen to Tony as he shares what it means to follow Christ with courage, lead well at home and in the workplace, and live with a faith that doesn't stay on the sidelines. His challenge is simple but powerful: in a world that desperately needs hope, it's time for Christians to step forward and say, "Let's roll."

Have you ever noticed how God rarely hands us a giant mission all at once? More often, He nudges us to take one small step of obedience, and before we know it, He's weaving together something far bigger than we imagined.

Dan Eagle thought he was simply visiting his sister in a nursing home, but God turned a simple question, "How can I help?" into a beautiful ministry of quilts, friendship, and hope that's brightening lives all across Edmonds.

As the leaves begin to change and pumpkin spice season makes its annual return, there's something comforting about the things that stay the same. Chris from Rend Collective is here, and we're uncovering the heart behind "Evergreen," a song inspired by God's unchanging faithfulness in a world that often feels uncertain.

From navigating anxiety and doubt to discovering God's presence through Scripture, prayer, and even therapy, Chris shares a powerful reminder that no matter what season we're walking through, God remains steady and true.

As a mom, there are few things more meaningful than realizing your kids were listening all along. Nancy Crawford joins me on the show today, and we talked about her daughter Leanna Crawford's new song, Thank God, and the sweet surprise of hearing some of her own faith-filled advice woven into the lyrics.

Click PLAY for a heartfelt discussion about trusting God through life's disappointments, finding peace when the answer is "no," and the joy of watching faith take root in the next generation. I think you'll be encouraged by Nancy's warmth, wisdom, and reminder that God is faithfully writing every chapter of our story.

It's always a joy when my friend Debbie from the SPIRIT 105.3 sales team stops by the studio, and this time she brought a story you truly couldn't make up. What started as a road trip to a friend's wedding quickly went off the rails with a broken transmission, a break-in, roadside repairs, and one unexpected setback after another.

But instead of letting frustration take over, Debbie leaned into the Lord, relied on the prayers of friends, and discovered God's faithfulness in ways she never would have expected. Her story is a powerful reminder that even when life feels completely off course, God is still guiding every mile of the journey.

Every year, we think we're ready for back-to-school season... until it's actually here! In this conversation with my dear friend and SPIRIT 105.3 co-worker, Lanna, we talk honestly about the hopes, worries, and prayers that come with sending our kids back to the classroom.

From praying through first-day jitters and listening to worship music on the drive to school to finding creative ways to spark faith-filled conversations, Lanna shares what's helping her family navigate this busy season. And because we're all just doing our best, we also laugh about the never-ending challenge of packing school lunches that kids will actually eat!

Mikki is a dear friend and someone I had the privilege of working with here, and she and her husband Jason open up about the unexpected arrival of their son, Wyatt, who was born at just 28 weeks and weighed only two and a half pounds. What followed was a 114-day NICU stay filled with challenges, including an emergency C-section, a frightening appendicitis diagnosis for Mikki, and countless moments that required faith, strength, and perseverance.

Through it all, they leaned on God, family, friends, and the incredible medical team caring for Wyatt. Today, their little miracle is thriving, growing beyond expectations, and reminding everyone around him that even in the hardest seasons, hope can shine brightly. Their story is a powerful testimony of God's faithfulness, the strength of a loving community, and the resilience of one very special little boy.

Sometimes the brightest faith shines through the darkest circumstances. When I met Amy Moats, a Spokane mom whose family lost their home in a devastating fire, I was amazed by her ability to see God's goodness in the middle of heartbreak. Through unexpected acts of kindness, dinosaur birthday surprises, and even a miraculous wedding dress story, Amy's journey is a beautiful reminder that God doesn't just meet us at the end of the tunnel, He's with us every step of the way.

What began as a last-minute trip to Seattle to catch the Blue Angels at Seafair quickly turned into a life-or-death situation for Lillie, a certified lifeguard, Division I water polo player, and nuclear engineering intern.

Who says birthday parties have to happen at a trampoline park or pizza place? When Seattle twins Eliza and Jade celebrated their birthday at Maple Leaf Ace Hardware, they traded party hats for aprons and became "employees for a day" alongside 25 of their friends. From planting flowers and building mini fans to dancing, cake, and even hardware-themed tattoos, this one-of-a-kind celebration turned a neighborhood hardware store into the ultimate birthday destination.

Logan Gilbert’s voice hits different when he talks about being a dad — you can hear how little Henry’s joy is reshaping his days, his perspective on the mound, and even his friendships with other player‑dads. And as he looks ahead to Fields of Faith, his heart is set on Jesus, unity, and choosing what’s eternal, especially in a moment when our city is grieving and desperately needing hope.

Jimmy Wanichsuksombat and his family were working at the Bite when tragedy struck our city.  The co-owner of Seattle Fudge had seconds to make a choice… and the one he made offered peace in the midst of panic for many people. Join Jimmy and Erica to hear the story… and may the Lord continue to heal every heart hurting in our city… in Jesus Name, amen.

Nikki showed up to a Mariners game expecting garlic fries and a good time… not a 107‑mph fastball to the face. CareNet of Puget Sound is one of those ministries that makes you want to stand up and cheer as you watch God moving in real time. The way they link arms with hundreds of churches, support women in crisis, and turn a simple ultrasound into a moment of holy clarity—it’s powerful and hope‑filled.

Something that hit hard was Dave sharing about the Care Net prayer team. This group of over 1,700 people get real‑time texts and stop whatever they’re doing to pray for women who are wrestling with impossible decisions. Hearing how they lift these moms up in the exact moment they need courage, and then celebrate when a woman chooses life, reiterates to me how powerful it is when God’s people show up and pray boldly in the mighty name of Jesus.

Sometimes God uses the most unexpected moments, like an Instagram video you watch while folding laundry, to remind you God is still in the business of chasing down His kids.

Zach's song with Ben Fuller, “Wait for Me” makes me think about all the long, winding roads we take, and how God never stops waiting, never stops pursuing, never stops running toward us... It's a hug for anyone who’s ever wandered, and a reminder that even our detours aren’t wasted in God’s hands.

My son was a healthy teenager playing high school football when a cruel disease called ulcerative colitis (UC) took over his body and left him looking like a concentration camp victim. Today, he’s a walking miracle… praise God!

Through years of middle of the night emergency room visits, terrifying surgeries, and heart wrenching procedures, I watched my son suffer and trust Jesus. Yes, he had his moments of doubt and anger… but he never gave up! With a deep faith and a positive attitude, he fought the good fight… and the Lord brought him back to life.

UC stole his large intestine… but we like to say “No colon, still rollin’!” Now, he wants to help others who are shocked by the viciousness of UC. I want to publicly congratulate my son, AUTHOR Joshua Parkerson, for writing and illustrating a graphic novel about overcoming UC… and really, adversity in life. It’s a story based on his own journey that I believe will help other young people process their diagnosis and learn how to overcome. It’s hopeful, inspiring, and truly an example of God’s goodness. PRAISE JESUS!

Josh is the bravest, kindest, positive human I know and Will and I could not be prouder. He has an ISBN NUMBER! 🎉 This is something GOOD! 🙌 It’s Romans 8:28 in action: “… we know that God causes •everything• to work together for the good of those who love God and are called according to His purpose for them." EVERYTHING… even a brutal disease that almost claimed the life of our only son.

Josh is my very special guest today on the morning show. Join us for a heartfelt conversation about never giving up!

Summer in the Puget Sound won’t feel quite the same knowing Wild Waves is splashing through its final season. For so many of us, that park was a rite of passage — sunburned shoulders, soggy towels in the backseat, and the thrill of finally being tall enough for the “big rides.” As the community gathers to celebrate 50 years of memories, this last chapter feels both tender and joyful, a chance to relive the magic one more time before the gates close for good.

Anybody wanna buy Wild Waves?! Let's gooooooooo!

God is on the move, stirring the hearts of people in Seattle, and Pastor Rich Simms is leaning into it with open doors and open arms. Peter Burton’s story hits home for anyone who’s ever felt held together by sheer willpower. In opening up about the anxiety, OCD, and fear that once ruled his life, he shares how Jesus met him in the mess, stitched his “broken pieces” back together, and sparked a song that feels more like a lifeline than a lyric.

His journey—from therapy and gratitude habits to worship leading and fatherhood—reminds us that healing is possible when we stop holding everything alone and let grace do the heavy lifting.

Top Pot Doughnuts has always had a flair for happy accidents—after all, its name was born when a vintage “Top Spot” sign lost its 'S' on the drive up I‑5, inspiring brothers Mark and Michael Klebeck to embrace the situation and launch a hand‑forged doughnut empire built on “real stuff made by real people.”

Nearly 25 years and 14 Puget Sound shops later, those doughnuts have become part of countless family memories and everyday rituals, the kind you can almost taste just thinking about them. This summer, the company is doubling down on community joy by teaming up with Seattle soccer legend Pete Fewing, whose global ball‑donation mission turns garages into storage hubs and far‑flung villages into fields of celebration. With soccer‑themed treats, live match viewings, and youth‑player meet‑ups, Top Pot is inviting fans to drop off a ball, grab a doughnut, and help spark moments of connection that travel far beyond Seattle.

Pam from Silverdale just turned an ordinary workday into a life‑changing moment, winning $9,135 in the Spirit 105.3 Secret Sound contest, and she’s still calling the experience “unbelievable.” What started as a friendly race between her and her boss to get through on the phone became an answered prayer for her family in a financially tight season.

From fixing a leaky roof to keeping a long‑awaited road trip on the calendar, Pam sees every part of this win as God’s tender provision, right down to the “butterflies” that now remind her of His faithfulness.

Congrats to Pam from Silverdale who just won $9,135, plus an extra $500 to give away, from Elite Roofing by guessing a BUTTERFLY!

Listen to how this money is going to come in handy for her, and who she wants to bless with the extra $500 - spoiler alert: it involves special needs dogs. It's a beautiful story. We’re so happy for you, Pam!

The Secret Sound will return on July 1st, with the Elite Roofing Piggy Bank filled with $525, and an additional $500 to Pay-It-Forward!

Father, I pray for the graduate who hears this prayer, as they step into a new season of excitement and uncertainty. Help them be present in every moment you have given them. May they receive every blessing with gratitude, and every trial by your grace.

Help them remember that life, every breath of it here on earth is from you, and through you, and you hold all things together. Lord, help them cherish the things that matter most. Help them live in a way that speaks to future generations. Help them discover their greatest hope and calling in you, and to chase it with courage and conviction. Draw them in to love you with all their heart, soul, and mind, and teach them to love their neighbor as themselves.

In Jesus' name, amen.

Some days it feels like life is one big juggling act—kids, work, errands, and somehow still trying to be a decent human. Some stories stop you in your tracks, and this one from Longview is one of them—a devastating mill fire that took 11 lives, yet somehow still carried a quiet echo of faith through Gilbert’s final, peace-filled moments with his daughter. We're reminded of how fragile life is and how deeply we need to cherish the people we love while we have them.

This is a tender reminder that a lived faith—steady, real, and present even in crisis—is a legacy that outlives us. And in the midst of community grief, environmental damage, and the strain on first responders, they call us to choose gratitude today, to lean into Jesus for comfort, and to stand with Longview as healing and restoration begin.

Calla may have grown up in a “fire family,” but even she’ll tell you that sometimes the real MVP on a call has four legs and a great sense of timing. When she and Erica break down a recent Memorial Day fire, it’s the family dog who woke everyone up that steals the spotlight. It’s a reminder that fire safety starts with alarms and awareness, but a loyal pup doesn’t hurt.

Talking with Seph Schlueter felt like opening a window into the kind of faith that’s been tested and still chooses to sing. As he shared the pain behind “Valley of Worship” and the hope woven through “Won’t Start Now,” I found myself deeply moved by how God shows up in our questions, not just our victories. I think you’ll feel that same gentle honesty as you listen.

If you’ve ever wondered what it’s like to step behind the mask of one of musical theatre’s most iconic characters, you’re in for a treat. I sat down with Isaiah Bailey — yes, the Phantom himself at Seattle’s Paramount Theatre — and we got into everything from the show’s goosebump‑inducing music to the surprisingly hilarious realities of performing in that famous half‑mask.

Ryan’s journey into Mariners fandom is the kind of wholesome chaos every new fan can relate to. One World Series game was all it took for him to fall headfirst into baseball, pick the Mariners as his family’s new West Coast team, and go absolutely “all in” — Facebook groups, team history, nightly games, the whole deal.

When he asked the online community for tips before taking his son to his very first game, fans flooded him with advice, memories, and must‑do kid activities, turning their trip into a full‑blown ballpark adventure. Now his son plays catch every night, the whole family is hooked, and Ryan’s just out here living his best new‑fan life with the friendliest baseball community cheering him on.

If there’s one thing I’ve learned over the years, it’s that following Jesus doesn’t make us immune to stress, worry, or the heaviness of being human. In fact, the more I talk with people, the more convinced I am that every one of us is carrying something beneath the surface. That’s why I loved sitting down with Ben, it reminds us that God cares deeply about our mental and emotional health, not just our spiritual lives.

What started as a flight to Portland turned into a surprise delivery room when paramedics Tina  and Karen helped deliver a baby mid‑air—armed with skill, calm nerves, and sparkly pink shoelaces.

Randy’s story is one so many of us can relate to, finding hope again right in the middle of fear, anxiety, and the kind of heaviness that makes you cry out to God for help. What began as a quiet moment on his back patio became a melody, a lyric, and eventually a renewed faith that shaped the heart of his band, Hopeful.

Even when the waves of life feel wild, Jesus meets us there with mercy, strength, and a hope that refuses to let go.

Shelly’s story is a beautiful reminder that compassion doesn’t always look flashy—sometimes it’s simply showing up, offering a smile, or walking beside someone in a moment of vulnerability. As she serves at the Seattle King County Clinic, she sees firsthand how restored dignity and renewed confidence can change a life, especially for patients facing dental stigma or job‑search challenges. Her 11 years of humble, heartfelt service reflect what it means to be the hands and feet of Jesus in a world that desperately needs practical love.

Seattle’s bagel scene wasn’t ready for Andrew Rubenstein—but that didn’t stop the former painter from rolling up his sleeves and shaping it by hand. Since 2017, he’s been crafting blistered, funky, joy-sparking bagels that feel more like edible art than “round bread,” all while building a community that shows up for the warmth as much as the carbs. His story is proof that sometimes the most satisfying creations come from following your hands, your gut, and the people who can’t stop telling you your bagels made their day.

Some mornings feel effortless, and others… well, they need a little divine intervention. Author Jennifer Dukes Lee is here and reminding us that mornings aren’t about perfection—they’re an invitation from God to begin again, with fresh mercy and real hope. If you’ve ever wished you could love your mornings a little more, her stories and insights will feel like a deep breath for your soul.

Tanya’s story is a reminder that even in the moments that feel like the end, something new can begin. Her first 365 days of sobriety weren’t easy, but they were filled with unexpected peace, steady support, and the quiet rebuilding of a life she once feared was too broken to fix. If you’ve ever wondered whether real hope is possible, her journey shows that healing can grow in the very places that once felt hopeless.

He also does this standing meer cat pose! He’s so goofy, and it’s always on time, when we are having a hard moment. I think Isla is like “Ok now Boston, make Mommy and Daddy laugh.” He’s been a blessing during our grieving.

I don’t even care about the basket! I’m just feeling blessed I get to show off these two and tell her story!

Isla LOVED Jesus!!! She wasn’t shy about it!

Thank you for sharing Boston and Isla with us, Brye!

Meteorologists say waterspouts (tornadoes over water) are extremely rare in Seattle... but one appeared above Puget Sound on Wednesday near Magnolia. No one was hurt and there was no damage, thank God. Don Clapp was there capturing photos of our stormy weather and caught the waterspout on video!

It’s amazing how someone’s path can shift so dramatically—like moving from astrophysics and engineering to discovering a deeper pull toward Jesus. Pastor Ryan reminds us that doubts, questions, and even wrestling with God aren’t signs of failure but signs of being alive to faith.

As he reflects on the wonder of creation, the beauty of singleness and community, and the everyday chaos of church life (donuts, communion bread, and all), his message is simple: keep showing up. You never know when God might meet you in a way that changes everything.

We’ve all misplaced something important, but Tucker McDonald took it to Olympic levels when his heirloom wedding ring disappeared during a ski trip—cue frantic searches, a 6 a.m. mountain mission, and a Facebook plea that encouraged his faith in humanity. The best part? The ring’s actual hiding spot is the kind of ending every forgetful person will appreciate.

If you relate to “trust God” while your child is off doing something big and brave, this conversation is for you. I sat down with my friend Lanna to talk about sending her son Logan on his first mission trip to the DR—complete with flying toys, zero phone contact, and a whole lot of mom‑heart stretching. It’s funny, tender, and such a beautiful reminder that letting go is holy work.

There’s something deeply moving about watching young people boldly live out their faith. Tim Gaydos is here to share the powerful story of seven UW athletes who chose to be baptized in the open waters of Lake Washington, surrounded by teammates and a growing community of believers. It’s a reminder that even in unexpected places, courage and conviction can spark something bigger than we imagine.

Anne Wilson just lived every kid’s dream, singing the national anthem at a NASA rocket launch! It brought her right back to her own childhood dreams of becoming an astronaut, before God steered her into music. Watching the smoke, then the sound, then the power hit her in waves at the launch, left her in awe of both the mission, and her own calling to point people to Jesus.

Tommee Profitt is out here making Easter sound like a full‑blown cinematic universe—in the best way. His Resurrection of the King project takes the story of Jesus’ death and resurrection and scores it like the most powerful true‑story soundtrack ever, packed with emotion, big moments, and voices that make every track feel essential. And as he talks about God “downloading” music into his heart during the process, you can’t help but feel the invitation too: to remember that because Jesus walked out of the tomb, hope is alive and well today.

Midweek Hope is coming in hot, and honestly, it feels like the kind of midweek pick‑me‑up we all secretly wish Starbucks could provide but only Jesus actually can.

Erica and Pastor Jesse are leaning into a powerful night at UW’s Kane Hall—Bibles flying off tables, worship shaking the walls, and hearts being stirred toward real, lasting hope. Chatting with Jamie MacDonald feels a little like swapping stories with your most creative friend—the one who loves Jesus, chases sunsets, and somehow turns everyday moments into songs that hit you right in the heart. From music and miracles to Easter joy and stargazing dreams, this convo is full of the kind of wonder that makes you smile.

Some heroes wear capes, but others show up with a casserole dish and a heart full of Jesus—and Leisa Chaney is both. Her simple, love‑filled meals are reminding people that sometimes the most powerful ministry starts with comfort food and a knock on the door.

She came to volunteer and be a blessing. She left with overflowing joy and renewed purpose in life! Luwam Woldu is typically on mission at our sister ministry, CRISTA Senior Living, but thank the Good Lord she decided to serve here at the radio station on YES DAY! Join Luwam and Erica to hear about Lita, who said YES to Jesus with Luwam on the phone! It's a conversation that will surely spark joy in YOUR life!
