WGCC The Music

One of the newest clubs on campus, the GCC eSports Club will be having their first general interest meeting of the semester on Thursday, September 14, 2023 at 12:30pm in the eSports Lab!

The GCC eSports Lab is located in room T207 on the Batavia campus.

The Computer Repair Club at GCC will be having a general meeting on Tuesday, September 19 at 12:30pm in room D 205 on the Batavia Campus.

The newest semi-pro football team in Batavia, the Genesee County Spartans came to the studios today to discuss their upcoming 2023 season! 

Geezer Radio returned for a show that was themed "From The Eternal Pits", playing music that the devil would certainly appreciate, and talked about his memories on 90.7FM before the frequency changes hands and WGCC becomes an internet only station. 

Dylan Ulm and James Rautenstrauch provided play by play as the nationally-ranked Genesee Community College Cougars men's basketball team played the Tompkins Cortland CC Panthers on Tuesday, December 13, 2022 in a key NJCAA Region III matchup. 

Brielle, a Fashion Merchandising major at Genesee Community College has started her own clothing line! She stopped by the studios to talk about her line and what made her be a fashion designer.

From the WGCC class of 1986-88, The Big B of WGCC, along with Kelli Carson (from CJ County fame) and Mark St John (from WPXY, now residing in North Carolina), came on air during WGCC's "The Show Must Go On" Alumni Takeover! 

WGCC's Alumni Takeover called "The Show Must Go On" continued with from the class of 2016-17, Marty Czekala and Kelvin LaPierre. Marty and Kelvin discussed racing and plugged their weekly podcast show, RSN Trackside available every Wednesday night at 7pm on the ROC Sports Network Facebook page!

"The One When the Station Died"... we feel like naming these episodes of Geezer Radio like they used to do on the TV show Friends. As anything that gets older, things start to break down and that is the case with College Radio. Geezer Radio was delayed for about an half hour (why this week's episode is only a little over 90 minutes long) as our system was restarting. But fear not, Geezer Radio was still on the air. Take a listen!

Cody was in complete shock when Geezer brought in his playlist and on said playlist had not one, but a pair of songs each by "The Boss" Bruce Springsteen and "The Piano Man" Billy Joel, two artists that the Geezer very rarely plays on Geezer Radio.

Radio spots produced and aired for the Adult Educational Opportunity Center (AEOC) at Genesee Community College. 

The Adult Educational Opportunity Center (AEOC) is a free program that provides counseling and information on college admissions to qualified adults who want to enter or continue a program of postsecondary education. The program also provides services to improve the financial and economic literacy of participants. An important objective of the program is to counsel participants on financial aid options, including basic financial planning skills, and to assist in the application process. The goal of the AEOC program is to increase the number of adult participants who enroll in postsecondary education institutions, to provide support for students to achieve their dreams and goals.

In order to make it as easy as possible for individuals to meet with one of our Outreach Specialists, we have many AEOC Locations throughout our six-county area (Allegany, Cattaraugus, Genesee, Livingston, Orleans, and Wyoming).

The Nurses Recognition Ceremony took place on Friday, July 24, 2020, outside the main campus of Genesee Community College. In this unique program, the 2020 graduates from GCC’s Antoinette Marchese Clancy School of Nursing were all invited to the annual Recognition Ceremony, but this year it was organized in a “drive-in movie” fashion safely following New York State’s social distancing guidelines. Graduates and their families parked their cars facing the lectern that was set up outside on the berm by the Student Success Center, and all guests could listen to the program on WGCC 90.7FM from their car radios or watch it remotely through the live stream access.
