On Tuesday, April 9th, Jennifer and James Crumbley, parents of Michigan school shooter Ethan Crumbley, were separately sentenced to 10-15 years in prison. A federal appeals court in Boston has ordered that the case of the Boston Marathon bomber Dzhokhar Tsarnaev be returned to a lower court. Tuesday, February 20th marked the heartbreaking conclusion to a five-day search for a missing girl. 11-year-old Audrii Cunningham went missing after she never made it to her Texas bus stop on Thursday, February 15th. Her body was found in a river roughly 10 miles away from her home in Livingston, Texas. 42-year-old Don Steven McDougal was supposed to take Audrii to her bus stop that fateful morning. On January 13th, 1996, nine-year-old Amber Hagerman was last seen alive while riding her brand-new pink bike in Arlington, Texas. For weeks, 36-year-old Joan Rogers and her two teenage daughters, Michelle and Christe, had eagerly awaited summer break so that they could embark on their first vacation outside their home state of Ohio. On Tuesday, November 28th, 2023, convicted murderer Alex Murdaugh was sentenced to 27 years in prison for his financial crimes. On January 26th, 2011, 27-year-old schoolteacher Ellen Greenberg sent her first-grade students home early in order to avoid an impending blizzard. On November 15th, 1989, 15-year-old Angela Correa disappeared after taking pictures for her photography class in Peekskill, New York. Two days later, her body was found. She had been brutally raped and murdered. News of Angela's death devastated her classmates at Peekskill High School, one of which, was Jeff Deskovic. However, detectives soon made Jeff a prime suspect in the case and coerced him into a false confession. At 17 years old, Jeff was convicted and spent the next 16 years of his life in prison for a crime he did not commit. The daughters of Suzanne Morphew were never able to celebrate her on Mother's Day of 2020, for on May 10th, Suzanne disappeared. A neighbor had reported Suzanne missing after a bike ride near her home in Chaffee County, Colorado. Nearly a year after her disappearance, Suzanne's husband, Barry Morphew, was arrested in connection with her presumed death. However, the charges would be dropped in 2022. After surviving a vicious attack by a loved one, how do you put the pieces of your life back together? For two weeks, the country closely followed the manhunt for escaped convict, Danelo Cavalcante. For almost 50 years, the community of Marple Township, Pennsylvania was haunted by the horrific murder of a young local girl. On August 31st 2023, 34-year-old convict Danelo Cavalcante escaped Pennsylvania's Chester County Prison by crab-walking between two walls, pushing through razor wire, and fleeing from the roof. On July 15th, 1976, in Chowchilla, CA, the largest kidnapping for ransom in United States history took place. The Bonanno crime family was one of the most feared crime syndicates within the New York City mafia scene. An unthinkable tragedy struck Clermont County, OH, when on June 15th, 2023, 32-year-old Chad Doerman allegedly shot and killed his three sons execution-style. On Saturday, June 10th, 2023 Unabomber Ted Kaczynski was found dead in his federal prison cell at age 81. On May 24th, 2023 62-year-old Raul Meza Jr. called the police and confessed to the murder of his 80-year-old roommate, Jesse Fraga, just four days earlier. During the call, Meza also implicated himself in the 2019 murder of 66-year-old Gloria Lofton. On the night of May 3rd, 2007, British 3-year-old Madeleine McCann went missing while on a family vacation to Portugal.
