- 554 - Interview: 'Orphan Black: Echoes' Creator/Showrunner Anna Fishko
Welcome to a new Geektown Behind The Scenes podcast. This week I’m chatting with Anna Fishko, creator and showrunner of ‘Orphan Black: Echoes’, the highly anticipated follow-up to the brilliant sci-fi ‘Orphan Black’, which has just landed in the UK on ITVX.
The series stars Krysten Ritter (Jessica Jones, Breaking Bad) as Lucy, who woke up two years ago in a strange room with no memory of who she is or where she came from and she’s been running ever since. That is, until her past finally catches up with her and she’s faced with the reality that she was created in a lab, and those who had a hand in making her want her dead…
There's a stellar cast that includes Keeley Hawes (The Bodyguard, The Durrells, Line of Duty), Avan Jogia (Zombieland), James Hiroyuki Liao (Barry), Rya Kihlstedt (Superman & Lois) and Amanda Fix (High School).
Prior to developing Anna worked as writer and producer on Netflix’s brilliant drama ‘Pieces of Her’, along with their YA drama ‘The Society’, AMC’s ‘Fear the Walking Dead’, and many other series. This was her first time stepping into the role of creator and showrunner.
All five season of the original ‘Orphan Black’, and the 10-episode first season of ‘Orphan Black: Echoes’ are available right now on ITVX in the UK, and ‘Orphan Black: Echoes’ also comes to AMC+ in the USA on June 23.

Thu, 16 May 2024 - 22min - 553 - Geektown Radio Episode 423: Doctor Who, Dark Matter, Kingdom Come: Deliverance, Foundry Reviews, Plus TV News & UK Air Dates!
We are back with a packed episode 423 of the Geektown Radio podcast, and Matt from Entertainment Talk joins Dave to chat TV, film, and video game news & reviews!
Once again, Matt has brought with him a review of something we don't usually cover on Geektown... Reality TV! This time he has been watching the BBC Three series 'I Kissed A Girl', so gives us his impressions of that. He also discusses catching up with 'X-Men '97', 'Invincible', and (of course) 'Welcome To Wrexham'. Meanwhile, Dave brings two video game reviews - the open-world RPG 'Kingdom Come: Deliverance' and the new factory builder 'Foundry'. He also reviews the new Apple TV+ series 'Dark Matter', and they both discuss the return of 'Doctor Who', now funded by "Disney Dollars."
Moving on to the news updates, as we head into "Upfronts" week in the USA, we round up all the renewals and cancellations from the major US networks, along with what shows are still left in the balance. We also talk about a new comicbook adaptation picked up by Syfy, a potential 2nd Season for ‘Shogun’, Netflix's wonderfully bonker ‘Exploding Kittens‘, and the final season of ‘Snowpiercer‘ looking like it might actually pull into the station earlier than expected! Tue, 14 May 2024 - 1h 00min - 552 - Geektown Radio Episode 422: Baby Reindeer, Shardlake, Tales Of The Empire, Avoidance Reviews, Plus TV News & UK Air Dates!
We have a packed episode 422 of the Geektown Radio podcast, as our "film reviewer" Gray joins Dave to chat TV, film, and video game news & reviews!
Gray is back, and retaining his title as "worlds worse film reviewer", as he, of course, has not watched a single movie... However, he does come armed with a selection of TV reviews, including Romesh Ranganathan's 'Avoidance', Diane Morgan's 'Mandy', BBC's 'Race Across the World', and Netflix's 'Baby Reindeer'. He also discusses 'Interior Design Masters', 'X-Men '97', 'Beyond Paradise', and ITV's 'Red Eye'. Meanwhile, Dave has been on a Disney+ binge, with reviews of 'Welcome to Wrexham' Season 3, 'Star Wars: Tales Of The Empire', and 'Shardlake'. They also discuss the surprisingly heartbreaking 'Clarkson’s Farm' Season 3, and the utterly bonkers WTF moment in the sixth episode of Apple TV+ crime thriller 'Sugar' starring Colin Farrell (no spoilers!)
Moving on to the news, we're hurtling towards the final days of the 2024 "TV Bloodbath", so we run through what US TV shows are still left undecided, along with a number of UK cancellations and renewals. We also talk through what is going on with the potential sale of US media giant Paramount Global, CBS's ‘Fire Country’ getting a spin-off, a new live-action ‘Scooby-Doo’, and lots more! Listen below!

We return with episode 421 of the Geektown Radio podcast, and Matt from Entertainment Talk joins Dave to chat TV, film, and video game news & reviews!
This week we discuss something we don't often cover here at Geektown - soaps! Specifically, some huge changes coming to one soap in particular, 'Hollyoaks'. Matt has been a longtime watcher of the soap, and they recently announced some major cost-cutting at Channel 4, which will see schedule changes and a big reduction in the cast. We discuss its impact, and why soaps are actual quite important to the UK TV landscape. Meanwhile, I have a string of reviews, including the new video game 'Manor Lords' which hit early access this week, a preview of 'Clarkson's Farm' Season 3, and reviews of Netflix's 'Dead Boy Detectives' and ITVX drama 'Red Eye'.
Moving on to the news updates, we've got all the latest recent renewals, cancellations, and pickups, including a shocking cancellation from CBS... We also discuss returning to the world of ‘Orphan Black‘, how the casting director of a new Paramount+ series loves 'EastEnders', and Alibi bringing in a new drama in both English and Welsh! This week he brings us a wide selection including horror-comedy 'Bodies, Bodies, Bodies', Jason Statham action film 'The Beekeeper', and the Zack Snyder sequel 'Rebel Moon: The Scargiver'. We are back with a celebratory episode 419 of the Geektown Radio podcast, as Dave is joined by Matt from Entertainment Talk to chat TV, film, and video game news & reviews... and tattoos!
It's a celebratory show this week as Matt turns 30, and has chosen to show off his love for 'Toy Story' with a new tattoo! He has also chosen some interesting, rather retro, activities for his big day too! Outside of his birthday, he's been catching up with 'Halo' Season 2... albeit in a somewhat unique way... and also headed to the cinema to watch some Pixar movie re-releases. Meanwhile, Dave brings us a review of the new 'Fallout' series on Prime Video, based on the popular video game, along with diving back into 'No Man's Sky' after a two-year break. He's also, finally, got round to watching 'Oppenheimer', so gives his thoughts on that too, and tells us why it's too short...
Moving on to the news updates, we've got all the latest recent renewals, cancellations, and pickups, including Paramount+ cancelling a 'Star Trek' series, whilst CBS and the BBC come up with some surprise renewals! We also do something of a pre-game rundown as we hurtle towards the May "TV Bloodbath". Tue, 16 Apr 2024 - 1h 00min - 548 - Geektown Radio Episode 418: Tracker, This Town, Sugar, Star Trek: Discovery Reviews, Plus TV News & UK Air Dates!
After a little Easter break, we return for episode 418 of the Geektown Radio podcast, and Dave is joined by our "film reviewer" Gray to chat TV and film news & reviews!
Gray returns to the podcast, and upholds his title for worst film reviewer as he hasn't reviewed any films (although, to be fair, he has been away on holiday...) However, he does come with a number of TV show reviews including 'True Detective', 'Mr & Mrs Smith', and 'Murder At The End Of The World'. And just to counter those heavy dramas, he also reviews 'Is It Cake', 'Taskmaster' and a whole string of 'Drag Race'-related content! In addition to all that, he gives his thoughts on 'X-Men '97', as something of a huge fan of the original series. Meanwhile, Dave reviews 'Tracker' which appeared recently on Disney+ UK, along with new Apple series 'Sugar' starring Colin Farrell, Steven Knight's 'This Town', which you can find on iPlayer, and the return of 'Star Trek: Discovery' for one final mission. We also both discuss the rather interesting PR strategy of Joe Lycett, who returns this week with his show 'Late Night Lycett', and how a number of the sillier news stories you have been seeing recently may not have been true...
Moving on to the news updates, we've got all the latest recent renewals, cancellations, and pickups, including NBC shutting down the 'Quantum Leap' accelerator, 'Big Boys' finishing Uni, and 'Gladiators' fighting their way to a second season. We also have news on Disney+'s big “Star Wars Day” release, a bunch of Disney content coming to UKTV, a possible new iteration of ‘The Grand Tour’, and news on MGM+ launching in the UK. Listen below!

Tue, 09 Apr 2024 - 1h 03min - 547 - Geektown Behind The Scenes Podcast 70: Star Trek: Discovery's Sonequa Martin-Green & Composer Jeff Russo
As it was Easter, Dave gave the co-hosts the week off, but we do have a brilliant Geektown Behind The Scenes Podcast, especially for those of you who are fans of 'Star Trek: Discovery', as we interview the Discovery captain herself, Sonequa Martin-Green, and prolific composer Jeff Russo, who not only scores Discovery, but a million other amazing shows!
'Star Trek: Discovery' returns on Thursday, 4th April 2024 for its 5th and final season, as Sonequa Martin-Green takes the helm one last time in an epic adventure. In the interview, Sonequa discusses her feelings about the series coming to a close, the journey of her character, Michael, and whether we may see more of her in a Starfleet uniform at some point in the future...
In the second interview, Dave catches up with composer Jeff Russo, the man who not only scores 'Star Trek: Discovery', but is also something of an overseer for the music across the current Star Trek franchise.
In addition to 'Discovery', Jeff has a second show dropping on Thursday, 4th April 2024, which is Netflix’s much anticipated ‘Ripley’, a new adaptation of ‘The Talented Mr. Ripley’ starring Andrew Scott, which re-teams Jeff with the brilliant director Steven Zaillian, who he previously worked with on incredible mini-series ‘The Night Of’.
Jeff is a prolific composer and has worked on such a ridiculous number of shows it is hard to keep track. In the interview, we not only talk about his work on 'Star Trek: Discovery' and 'Ripley', but also FX’s ’Fargo’, which recently concluded its 5th Season, Apple TV+’s ‘For All Mankind’, Netflix's ‘The Umbrella Academy’ which returns for its final season in August, and CBS dramedy ‘So Help Me Todd’.

Tue, 26 Mar 2024 - 1h 00min - 545 - Geektown Behind The Scenes Podcast 68: Sound Team From Apple's 'Masters Of The Air' Interview
We are back with another Geektown Behind The Scenes Podcast, and this week Dave is chatting with the sound team behind Apple TV+’s epic WW II drama ‘Masters Of The Air’- Supervising Sound Editor, Jack Whittaker, and Re-Recording Mixers Duncan McRae and Michael Minkler.
‘Masters Of The Air’ stars Austin Butler and Callum Turner, and follows the incredible true story of the 100th Bomb Group, a B-17 Flying Fortress heavy bomber unit in the US Eighth Air Force, based in England during World War II. It is the third series from the creative team behind both ‘Band Of Brothers’ and ‘The Pacific’.
In the epic drama, Jack’s expertise as a Supervising Sound Editor ensures that every auditory detail, from the roar of engines to the subtle nuances of dialogue, contributes to the immersive storytelling experience. He collaborates with Re-Recording Mixers Michael & Duncan, whose mastery lies in blending and enhancing different audio elements, the sound team meticulously crafts a sonic landscape that transports viewers into the heart of World War II aviation.
Their work goes beyond mere technicality – it becomes a narrative force. The rumble of engines becomes a heartbeat, the soaring planes echo the bravery of young pilots, and the silence between explosions creates tension that underscores the gravity of their missions. Through their artistry, the sound team adds layers of emotion, suspense, and authenticity, enriching the narrative and ensuring that the audience feels the intensity of the story on a visceral level.
Jack Whittaker's previous work includes films such as Marvel’s ‘Shang-Chi’, Ryan Reynolds ‘Free Guy’, and the Oscar-winning short ‘War Is Over!’. Duncan McRae also worked on ‘War Is Over!’, along with the films ‘One Night in Miami’, ‘Hamilton’, and ‘John Wick: Chapter 3’. Michael Minkler's extensive CV includes ‘The Pacific’, ‘Elvis’ (also starring Austin Butler), Tom Hanks film ‘Greyhound’, plus ‘Once Upon a Time... in Hollywood’, ‘Mamma Mia!’,‘Dreamgirls’, and even goes back to ’Star Wars: A New Hope’.
If you've yet to catch ‘Masters Of The Air’ the entire series is available now on Apple TV+ worldwide.

Tue, 30 Jan 2024 - 1h 02min - 536 - Geektown Behind The Scenes Podcast 68: Composer Jake Monaco Interview
Geektown Radio will be back next week, but before we return for the main show, we have some more interviews for you! This week, I'm chatting with the lovely composer, Jake Monaco.
Jake Monaco is an American film and TV composer, who has worked on a huge array of projects, from some of the biggest film scores of the past decade, to children’s TV shows, and everything in between. We’ve previously spoken to Jake about his work on Netflix’s ‘Dinotrux’, Amazon’s ‘The Stinky & Dirty Show’, along with working as a producer and composer of additional music for Christophe Beck, where he worked on things such as ‘Frozen’, ‘The Hangover’ trilogy, and ‘The Muppets’.
His latest project is a bit of a departure from his previous work, as he scores National Geographic’s ‘Incredible Animal Journeys’, narrated by Hawkeye himself, Jeremy Renner, which you can find on Disney+ in the UK. This fascinating nature series follows the travels of a huge array of animals, from the humpback to the dung beetle, and many other species. We discuss Jake’s approach to the soundscape of the series, and creating the music most fitting for each creature’s journey.
Since we last spoke to Jake he’s also worked on several other projects for Disney, including ‘Cars on the Road’, ‘Forky Asks a Question’, and ‘Lamp Life’, so we touch on those, and many of his other projects too.

Adam Rowe is an Art Director and Production Designer for TV and stage, who has worked across a huge eclectic mix of projects including the new 'Quantum Leap', 'Mr. Mayor', CBS series 'Good Sam', and our beloved ‘The Good Place’. One of his other more recent projects was the Netflix series ‘Glamorous’, from 'Star Trek: Discovery' and 'Quantico' producer Jordan Nardino.
‘Glamorous’ introduces us to makeup-obsessed and gender non-conforming queer Marco (played by Miss Benny) as he’s given the opportunity of a lifetime to work under makeup mogul, Madolyn Addison (played by Kim Cattrall), and the makeup empire she’s created. While navigating his new job, Marco also finds challenges in his new life and what it means to be queer.
In the interview, we discuss Adam's fascinating work creating this glamorous world, including the unique office space, Marco's room, and various other interesting environments. We also talk about how they cleverly reused some of the sets for the upcoming reboot of the classic legal series 'Matlock' starring Academy & Emmy Award Winner Kathy Bates.
Other projects Adam has worked on include ‘House’, ‘Criminal Minds’, ‘Dexter’, ‘Parks and Recreation’, ‘American Crime Story: Versace’, and the long-running crime dramedy ‘Rizzoli & Isles’. He also worked on the Fox live adaptation of the stage show ‘Rent’ which saw him win the Emmy this year for Outstanding Production Design For A Variety Special.

Tue, 29 Aug 2023 - 52min - 518 - Geektown Behind The Scenes Podcast 68: 'I'm A Virgo' FuseFX VFX Supervisor Jamie Barty Interview
We are back with a new episode of the Geektown Behind The Scenes podcast. This week, I'm chatting with Jamie Barty, VFX Supervisor at FuseFX, about his work on various projects, including Prime Video's wonderfully weird 'I'm A Virgo'.
British-born, but based in Fuse’s Canada office, Jamie has worked on a huge array of shows for the company, including ‘The Orville’, ‘Fort Salem’, ‘La Brea’, ’Snowpiercer’ and ‘Upload’, some of which we delve into during the interview. However, we begin by chatting about his more recent project, ‘I’m A Virgo’, which is available now on Prime Video.
From director Boots Riley, ‘I’m A Virgo’ is a fantastical coming-of-age story of a 13-foot-tall man, Cootie, who is hidden in Oakland, CA, but escapes to experience the world. On his journey, he forms friendships, finds love, encounters awkward situations, and so much more. The series stars Jharrel Jerome as Cootie, Brett Gray, Mike Epps and more.
FuseFX collaborated closely with Boots to create the alternative reality of Cootie. The team implemented many in-camera and VFX tricks to give Cootie his impressive 13-ft tall stature, including miniatures, puppets, full digi-double characters, CG props, shrinking of other characters, and camera/compositing trickery. The team strived to achieve a realistic blend of practical in-camera effects with CG and digital compositing.

We are back with a new episode of the Geektown Behind The Scenes podcast. This time, I'm chatting with writer, artist, and animator Caroline Foley.
Caroline has worked on an array of varied projects, from adult animation such as Bojack Horseman and Rick & Morty to the much-loved YouTube series Toca Life Stories and Blippi Wonders.
On Bojack Horseman, Caroline helped figure out how Bojack would move around throughout the series. Notably, this includes Rick’s suicide attempt from season 2 episode 3, a scene that took almost 2 weeks to complete.
As story editor for Toca Life Stories, she was responsible for hiring the writing team for all 40 episodes and developing the main characters. One episode, in particular, has garnered over 11 million views to date. Caroline also noted and revised over 40 episodes of Blippi Wonders and wrote over a dozen.

Tue, 04 Apr 2023 - 1h 03min - 499 - Geektown Behind The Scenes Podcast 66: 'The Last Of Us' Production Designer John Paino Interview
We are back with a new episode of the Geektown Behind The Scenes podcast. For this episode, we've teamed up with Matt from Entertainment Talk, and my 'World Of The Last Of Us' podcast co-host, as we're chatting with John Paino, the production designer on HBO’s fantastic adaptation of the Naughty Dog video game 'The Last of Us'.
The Last of Us’ takes place 20 years after modern civilization’s destruction. Joel (Pedro Pascal – ‘The Mandalorian’), a hardened survivor, is hired to smuggle Ellie (Bella Ramsey – ‘Game Of Thrones’), a 14-year-old girl, out of an oppressive quarantine zone. What starts as a small job soon becomes a brutal and heartbreaking journey as they both must traverse the U.S. and depend on each other for survival.
John Paino is a highly experienced production designer, having previously worked on tv shows such as 'The Leftovers', 'Sharp Objects', 'Big Little Lies', 'The Morning Show', and 'The Shrink Nextdoor', along with films such as 'Dallas Buyers Club' and 'Margin Call'. However, 'The Last Of Us' presented him with a whole new set of extraordinary challenges.
From houses and restaurants to malls and infrastructure, John was tasked with recreating dozens of post-apocalyptic sets completely from scratch. By relying on physical structures instead of visual effects, John managed to fully immerse actors and viewers into the world of the fan-favourite game.
I think it's fair to say, John's work has paid off. The reaction to the series has been both a critical and rating success on both sides of the Atlantic. In the UK, it was the biggest audience ever for a first-series US drama finale on Sky. In the US, the audience has grown week-on-week, with the finale up a staggering 74% on the premiere episode. This series also has been praised by critics and fans across the board.
'The Last Of Us' Season 1 can be found via Sky On Demand and the NOW streaming service in the UK, and on HBO Max in the USA. If you want to keep track of this or any other show, you can add them viaour Never Miss system, and you’ll be notified when they get a UK premiere date.

Tue, 28 Mar 2023 - 47min - 497 - Geektown Behind The Scenes Podcast 65: 'Outer Banks' Season 3 VFX Supervisor Art Codron From FuseFX Interview
We are back with new episode of the Geektown Behind The Scenes podcast. This week I’m chatting with Art Codron, the VFX supervisor for FuseFX on the third season of Netflix’s 'Outer Banks'.
Art Codron is a three-time Emmy Award winner, who has worked on shows such as ‘Ozark’, ‘Prison Break’, and ’The Morning Show’, along with his other current show, ‘The Rookie’. Whilst these days he tends to lean more into shows with more “invisible effects”, he began his VFX career working on the ’Star Trek’ franchise, beginning on ‘The Next Generation’ and ‘Deep Space Nine’, then becoming a VFX supervisor on ‘Voyager’ and ‘Enterprise’.
‘Outer Banks’ is a wonderfully fun action-adventure series which follows teen John B (Chase Stokes), who enlists his three best friends to hunt for a legendary treasure linked to his father's disappearance. The series also stars Madelyn Cline (Sarah Cameron), Madison Bailey (Kiara), Jonathan Daviss (Pope), Rudy Pankow (JJ), Austin North (Topper), Drew Starkey (Rafe), Carlacia Grant (Cleo) and Charles Esten (Ward Cameron) with Cullen Moss (Shoupe), Julia Antonelli (Wheezie Cameron), Caroline Arapoglou (Rose Cameron), E. Roger Mitchell (Heyward), Charles Halford (Big John), Elizabeth Mitchell (Limbrey), and Andy McQueen (Carlos Singh).
The most recent third season saw the gang chase the gold to the Caribbean and South American, which created some interesting challenges for the VFX team. These included a plane crash into the ocean and a shot of a whale, which involved complex water simulations and physics. They also had to create the gold-laden caves of El Dorado, enhancing the shots with composition and CG, along with painting out all manner of production equipment.

We are back with another episode of the Geektown Radio podcast, and I'm joined by Twitch streamer, presenter, and power-washing enthusiast Bex From TristaBytes in the co-host chair to chat through and review the week on UK TV, film and gaming, alongside the usual TV news and UK TV air dates.
Bex is currently trying to kick an addiction... to power-washing dinosaurs. She has been playing the 'Tomb Raider' DLC for 'PowerWash Simulator', which allows you to clean Croft Manor (including her dinosaur trophy), so we chat a little about that. On the TV side, she has recently completed a rewatch run-through of the highly acclaimed 'Star Trek: Deep Space Nine', and gives us her thoughts on how it stands up today. Meanwhile, I review new Netflix release 'Luther: The Fallen Son', and we discuss the major winner of the Oscars this year, 'Everything Everywhere, All At Once'.
In the news section, we run through all the renewals, cancellations and pick-ups, and also reveal which shows haven't yet been officially cancelled or renewed, but you need to watch out for. We chat about 'Red Dwarf' getting out of its legal battle, the return of 'Challenge Anneka', a new Batman animated series, and a whole lot more!

It has been a while since Bex was on the show, but in her time away she was ill (because she wouldn't be Bex unless something wasn't working correctly!), however, that meant she had lots of time to catch up on tv! As the main Geektown Radio podcast is on a little break whilst I'm away, we bring you a new episode of the Geektown Behind The Scenes podcast, in which I chat to Hollywood editor & producer, Zack Arnold, editor on the brilliant 'Cobra Kai', and founder of Optimize Yourself.

However, he is also the Founder of 'Optimize Yourself', a brilliant podcast series and coaching programme to help creative professionals get through their working lives without having to sacrifice their health, relationships, or sanity in the process.
Zack's story is an interesting one. He was a massive fan of the 'Karate Kid' films, and actively pursued the editing job on 'Cobra Kai' after watching the first season. In the interview, he discusses how his love and encyclopaedic knowledge of the movies have helped him in editing the hit Netflix drama.
Outside of 'Cobra Kai', Zack's other notable credits include 'Empire', 'Burn Notice', and 'Glee'. We also chat about the documentary film, 'GO FAR: The Christopher Rush Story', which he directed. You can see the entire movie for free here.

We return with a new episode of the Geektown Radio podcast, and this week we have a special show dedicated to MCM Comic-Con, which was held in London over the weekend.
As I'm currently buried under a mountain of editing, the episode this week features a number of clips from panels and interviews at MCM Comic-Con. We have Michael Sheen dishing the dirt (sort of...) on David Tennant, as he chats about his 'Good Omens' co-star. We have Mason Alexander Park & Tom Sturridge, aka Desire and Dream from Netflix's 'The Sandman' talking about their characters. We also have a longer interview with the creators and star of 'We Are Not Alone', a brand new original film coming to UKTV's Dave channel later this month.
'We Are Not Alone' stars Declan Baxter as hapless Clitheroe resident Stewart, selected by Gu'uns Trater (Vicki Pepperdine), Gordan (Mike Wozniak) and Greggs (Joe Thomas) as their official human liaison. Stewart must help the Gu'uns win favour with humankind, secretly aid Grieves (Amanda Abbington) and the human resistance, and somehow manage his enduring crush on Elodie (Georgia May Foote).
The film comes from Laurence Rickard & Ben Willbond, two of the people behind hit comedy 'Ghosts', along with the wonderful 'Yonderland' and 'Horrible Histories'. In the interview, we chat with Laurence, Ben and Declan about their new project.
In addition to all that, we also bring you the latest television renewals and cancellations, including the news about 'The Witcher' Season 4. We also have highlights from the next 7 days on UK TV.

He also reviews 'Delete' parts one and two, which is a Canadian tv movie recently released on Prime Video UK, full of familiar faces, about a rogue AI. He also reviews something called a "book" (a thing made of paper, bound together)... In this case, 'He Who Fights With Monsters', a LitRPG novel series from author Shirtaloon. The review side of things has a bit of a gaming lean to it this week, as Matt dives into 'Call Of Duty: Modern Warfare 2' beta, so gives his thoughts on that. He has also been playing around in a building game for the first time, as he sets foot in 'Disney Dreamlight Valley', a brand new life-sim/adventure game filled with your favourite Disney characters. He also talks about Season 3 if the stupidly named 'High School Musical: The Musical: The Series' on Disney+ and Apple+ TV series 'Central Park'. Meanwhile, I chat through heading back to my childhood with the wonderful 'Return To Monkey Island', and building factories on a remote planet as 'Satisfactory' releases Update 6. We also both give our thoughts on the big release from last week, 'Star Wars: Andor'.
Over in the TV news, we chat through all the renewals, cancellations and pick-ups. We discuss James Earl Jones' retirement, although his voice will live on in digital form. We discuss the return of 'Doctor Who', and who she might regenerate into, as rumours persist it may not be who we think. We also run through all the announcements from Netflix's "Tudum" fan event, 'Scanners' getting new life on HBO, and what 'Breaking Bad's Vince Gilligan is doing next! It's a packed show!

Tue, 27 Sep 2022 - 1h 10min - 474 - Geektown Radio 357: ‘Vampire Academy’, 'Queer As Folk' Reviews, Plus TV News & UK Air Dates!
After a very strange week of tv, the Geektown Radio podcast returns with our film reviewer Gray to chat through and review the last seven days on UK TV, film, and gaming, alongside the usual TV news and UK TV air dates.
Gray might be our film reviewer, but this month has not reviewed any films (to be fair, he has been sick, so we'll let him off this once!) However, during his recovery, he has been catching up on shows which he hadn't finished, so talks about 'Grace', 'CSI: Vegas', 'The Orville', and 'Abbott Elementary', along with a longer discussion about the new US version of 'Queer As Folk'. Meanwhile, I picked up the new drama from 'The Vampire Diaries' creator Julie Plec, 'Vampire Academy', and give my thoughts on how the two compare.
Over in the TV news, we chat through all the renewals, cancellations and pick-ups. We discuss the BBC getting more 'Ghosts', but these have an American accent, the removal and arrival of ‘Constantine’ on film and tv, and the Emmy Awards. We also talk about some of the shows we didn't cover last week announced at D23, and Prime Video ordering a 'Blade Runner' series!

Tue, 20 Sep 2022 - 51min - 473 - Geektown Radio 356: ‘Thor: Love & Thunder' Review, TristaBytes Returns, D23 & Star Trek, Plus TV News & UK Air Dates!
On this week's Geektown Radio podcast, returning from the dark mists of time (or Gamescom in Germany!) to the co-host chair is Bex of TristaBytes to chat through and review the last seven days on UK TV, film, and gaming, alongside the usual TV news and UK TV air dates.
With Bex back on the show, talk, of course, turns to gaming, as she has recently returned from the massively huge Gamescom event in Germany... so huge in fact, she got lost, a lot (although, this is Bex we're talking about, so that shouldn't be so surprising!) We also review 'Thor: Love & Thunder' which recently landed on Disney+. That leads to a broader discussion about the state of the MCU overall.
Over in the TV news, we chat through all the renewals, cancellations and pick-ups. We discuss 'Superman & Lois' getting a new Jonathan Kent (and explain what happened to the old one). We chat about 'Titans' adding Lex Luthor, various surprise additions to Disney+, and the return of the 'Teletubbies'... The bulk of the mai

On the Geektown Radio podcast this week, Robert from Entertainment Talk returns to the co-host chair to chat through and review the last seven days on UK TV, film, and gaming, alongside the usual TV news and UK TV air dates.
With Robert on the show, things inevitably turn to gaming, so we chat about 'Farthest Frontier', a new city builder which was recently released into Early Access on Steam. We also discuss some of the shows he's been watching as he gives his thoughts on 'She-Hulk', along with chatting about 'Welcome To Wrexham' (and how strange the UK football league set up is to an American!) Meanwhile, I review my latest gaming pick-up, 'Hard West 2', which is an 'X-Com'-esque romp through the wild west with a supernatural twist. I also review the big show of the week, 'Lord Of The Rings: Rings Of Power', which dropped its first two episodes on Prime Video.
Over in the TV news, we chat through all the renewals, cancellations and pick-ups. We talk about 'The Bear' finally getting released in the UK, 'WEIRD: The Al Yankovic Story' (and Daniel Radcliffe's interesting acting roles!), a possible new MCU series, casting for the 'Orphan Black' spin-off, and a possible prequel to 'The Crown'.

On this episode of the Geektown Radio podcast, Matt from Entertainment Talk returns once again to the co-host chair to chat through and review the last seven days on UK TV, film, and gaming, alongside the usual TV news and UK TV air dates.
It turns out Matt and I have both been watching most of the same shows this week, but before we get to those he catches use up with some Twitch and YouTube recommendations. First, our very own TristaBytes as Matt works his way through some of her "Tomb Failer" streams in Twitch. He also highlights PlayStation Access' "Metal Gear Stupid" videos on YouTube, as two idiots play 'Metal Gear Solid' for the first time, watched by their experienced, and somewhat exasperated mate! As we move to talking about TV, we review our return to Westeros in 'House Of The Dragon' on Sky, the return of 'SEE' on Apple TV+, and discuss football docuseries 'Welcome To Wrexham' on Disney+. I also review 'Top Gun: Maverick', and BBC drama 'The Capture', which returned for season two.
Over in the TV news, we chat through all the renewals, cancellations and pick-ups. We talk about the latest weird decisions by Warner Bros Discovery over DC, casting for 'The Boys', Catherine Tate returning to the BBC, 'The Good Doctor' getting a spin-off, and Netflix trying again with more video game-to-screen adaptations!

On this episode of the Geektown Radio podcast, I'm joined by Matt from Entertainment Talk in the co-host chair to chat through and review the last seven days on UK TV, film, and gaming, alongside the usual TV news and UK TV air dates.
Matt has been finishing of the third season of the brilliant 'Atlanta' on Disney+, so gives his thoughts about the season overall. Tue, 23 Aug 2022 - 56min - 469 - Geektown Behind The Scenes Podcast 62: 'What We Do In The Shadows' Supervising Sound Editor Steffan Falesitch
In this episode of the Geektown Behind The Scenes podcast, I'm chatting Steffan Falesitch, Supervising Sound Editor on the critically acclaimed and multi-award-winning FX series 'What We Do in the Shadows'.
From the minds of Jemaine Clement and Taika Waititi, 'What We Do in the Shadows' is a mockumentary comedy horror which takes a look into the daily (or rather, nightly) lives of four vampires, who've lived together for over 100 years, on Staten Island.
Steffan, along with the rest of the sound team, has been nominated for the Outstanding Sound Editing in a Comedy or Drama Emmy this year for the season three episode "The Escape". The show also has nominations for "Outstanding Comedy", "Outstanding Writing", "Costumes", "Sound Mixing", and "Stunts" this year too.
Alongside WWDITS, Steffan has worked on a host of shows from 'The Shrink Next Door' and 'Our Flag Means Death' to 'The Affair' and 'The L Word: Generation Q'. However, the series we are mainly talking to him about today is 'What We Do in the Shadows'.
On a side-note, 'What We Do in the Shadows' has previously aired on the BBC in the UK, however, now that their deal with FX has ended, it is possible the 4th season may move straight to Disney+. At the moment we just don't know. The fourth season is currently airing on FX in the USA.
If you want to keep track of this or any other shows, you can add them viaour Never Miss system, and you’ll be notified when they get a UK premiere date.

We are back with a new episode of the Geektown Radio podcast, and I'm joined by Darryl from Hollywood North News in the co-host chair to chat through and review the last seven days on UK TV, film, and gaming, alongside the usual TV news and UK TV air dates.
Darryl has brought with him a sack full of reviews this week, and kicks things off with the new Disney+/Hulu addition to the 'Predator' franchise, 'Prey'. He follows that by delving through the weirdness of the latest 'Riverdale' season (so you don't have to), talks Brad Pitt in the movie 'Bullet Train', reviews 'Emily The Criminal' starring Aubrey Plaza and Theo Rossi, along with Roland Emmerich's latest disaster film 'Moonfall'. Lastly we both chat about finishing season one of the brilliant 'Star Trek: Strange New Worlds'. Meanwhile, I give an update on the excellent Netflix adaptation 'The Sandman' and the wonderfully silly 'La Brea' which is on Paramount Plus UK having now got the end of both first seasons. I also give a review on my latest gaming obsession, 'Two Point Campus' from the people behind 'Two Point Hospital'.
Over in the TV news, we chat through all the renewals, cancellations and pick-ups, the latest ups and downs with various DC shows, and the sale of The CW. We also talk through Kaley Cuoco's new gig on Peacock, Jon Hamm's new role on 'The Morning Show', and 'Outlander' getting a spin-off series.

We are back with a new episode of the Geektown Radio podcast, and I'm joined by Matt from Entertainment Talk in the co-host chair to chat through and review the last seven days on UK TV, film, and gaming, alongside the usual TV news and UK TV air dates.
Matt begins by giving his reviews of 'Atlanta' which returned recently to Disney+ for Season 3, alongside watching the final season of his beloved series 'Love, Victor', also on Disney+. Meanwhile, I have been catching up with 'Solar Opposites' Season 3, and also the latest season of '9-1-1: Lone Star'. However, I also delved into a couple of new shows this week, including Neil Gaiman's adaptation of his own comic book in the much-anticipated Netflix series 'The Sandman', and the wonderfully wacky, but very entertaining, NBC show 'La Brea', which has landed, randomly, on Paramount+ UK.
Over in the TV news, we chat through all the renewals, cancellations and pick-ups, including 'The Punisher' not returning (yet), Paramount+ UK scanning the globe for more content, and Andy Serkis tackling the queen of waxworks. In the main news, we focus on one big story... Just what on earth is going on with Warner Bros Discovery and DC? We talk about the announcements made last week about the future of the DCEU, the cancellation of 'Batgirl', and where things are heading for the newly merged company.

We are back with our 350th episode of the Geektown Radio podcast, and I'm joined by our Film Reviewer Gray in the co-host chair to chat through and review the last seven days on UK TV, film, and gaming, alongside the usual TV news and UK TV air dates.
Gray begins, as he usually does, with his top five film news stories of the last month, although this time has a little twist as they are all Marvel-related following on from SDCC last week. He also reviews both the Netflix film 'The Gray Man' (disappointed to learn it isn't about him!), and the 'Bob's Burgers' movie, along with catching us up on the TV shows he has been watching over the last month. Meanwhile, I review the new Amazon comic book adaptation 'Paper Girls', and we both chat through our return to 'CSI: Vegas' after many years away!

Matt begins by catching me up on some of the shows he's been watching whilst I've been away. They include his thoughts on 'Star Trek: Strange New Worlds', and also the latest season of '9-1-1'. Meanwhile, tv watching has taken a bit of a backseat whilst I was on holiday, however, I did finish off 'Ms. Marvel', and also caught up with 'Better Call Saul', so we discuss both those. In addition to that, I talk about experiencing the Avengers Campus at Disney's California Adventure, along with returning to Galaxy's Edge and building a lightsaber!

Tue, 28 Jun 2022 - 1h 02min - 463 - Geektown Behind The Scenes Podcast 61: Stunt Coordinator Matt LeFevour - 'Shining Girls', 'The Batman', & Doubling Chris Hemsworth!
I know many of you might be expecting a normal Geektown Radio episode this week, but unfortunately, we had to skip it due to timing issues. We usually record on Mondays, and I was in London interviewing the cast of Halo (watch out for that interview coming soon!)
However, to tide you over until next week, we have an interview with Stunt Coordinator Matt LeFevour, who has worked on a huge array of tv shows and movies, both performing and coordinating stunt work. He was stunt coordinator on the Apple TV+ series 'Shining Girls', Showtime series 'The Chi', along with working on Chicago Fire, Med and PD.
On the film side, Matt stunt coordinated Aaron Sorkin’s six-time Oscar-nominated feature 'The Trial of the Chicago 7' which earned him a SAG Award nomination for Outstanding Action Performance by a Stunt Ensemble. He has also worked on various comic book projects including almost all of the Batman films from 'Batman Begins' through to 'The Batman', where he served as assistant stunt coordinator.
In addition to all that, he is Chris Hemsworth's stunt double for many of his movies, including the 'Thor' films and other appearances in the MCU. He is currently working on 'Power Book IV: Force', and was stunt coordinator on 'Mike', the upcoming Hulu drama based on the life of heavyweight champion Mike Tyson.

In an extended episode of the Geektown Radio podcast this week, Matt from Entertainment Talk joins me to chat through the last seven days on UK TV, film, and gaming, alongside the usual TV news and UK TV air dates, PLUS we also go through a post "TV Bloodbath" analysis.

Meanwhile, I chat through new Netflix show 'The Lincoln Lawyer' from David E. Kelly, and we both discuss the comedy 'How I Met Your Father', which landed last week on Disney+ UK.
Over in the TV news, things are a little different this week.
