- 75 - S7E5: Becoming Irreligious: My Relationship with the Church NOW
Hello, Hero Boys and Girls! ❤️
Did you enjoy Part 1 of this episode?
In this episode, I’m taking you a little deeper into my post-deconstruction journey and sharing what I currently believe about Christianity, Jesus, and the things I was taught growing up in the church.
This is an honest conversation about where I stand today, the questions I’ve had to ask myself, and how my understanding of faith has evolved.
In this episode, I talk about:
Do I believe in Jesus Christ? — Where I currently stand on Jesus and what believing in Him means to me today.
What do I think about Heaven and Hell? — How my perspective on the afterlife has changed and the questions I now have about these beliefs.
Is the Bible the Word of God? — My current thoughts on the Bible, its authority, and how I relate to the scriptures I grew up reading.
If you’re also navigating faith, questioning your beliefs, or trying to make sense of your relationship with Christianity, I hope this conversation makes you feel less alone.
Thank you for being here, Hero Boys and Girls! ❤️

@HerOwnHeroPod
by Ozioma OnukoguHello Hero Boys and Girls,
My best friend and I sat together—as we do every year—to reflect on the year gone by.
We can all agree that 2025 was a hard year: global conflicts, economic inflation, and a rapidly shifting job market made it feel like there was very little to be grateful for.
Yet, even in the midst of it all, we found some real gems we wanted to share with you. From meeting for the first time to building our separate businesses, from quitting jobs to traveling across countries, we stretched ourselves in ways we never imagined—and we’re incredibly proud of that growth.
In this episode, we share those lessons with you.
We hope you enjoy it.✨ We’d love to hear from you:

- 64 - S6E6: Choosing Creativity: A New Career in Your 30s with Chisom of @Nri.Nka
Hello Hero Boys and Girls,
We started a new series called Celebrating Our 20s
We began this series in our 29th year as a way to honor how far we’ve come since launching HerOwnHero in our early 20s. A lot has shifted — our values, beliefs, and the way we view the world — and we wanted to take a moment to pause, reflect, and have honest conversations around those changes.
Our guest on this episode is Chisom from @Nri.nka
Chisom is a Toronto based food artist, photographer, and digital content creator.Chisom’s journey is a beautiful story of courage, creativity, and carving out a life beyond traditional expectations. Originally drawn to baking and cake decoration, her love for art, form, and color led her into food artistry and photography.
Her work, inspired by flowers, film, literature, and nature, captures warmth, sunshine, and joy — images ready to adorn the prettiest spaces. We asked hard questions like :
✨ Discovering the courage to embrace creativity over convention✨ The first time passion turned into real income✨ The hardest parts of walking an unconventional road✨ Advice for young women choosing their own paths
Chisom’s story is both vulnerable and inspiring, reminding us that there’s power in following your gifts — even when it means creating a new definition of success.
Join us as we reflect on the shifts, lessons, and milestones of our 20s, and celebrate the courage it takes to be your own hero.
Dont forget to subcribe and follow us on all platforms and share this with your friends who are turning a new age :)
Sun, 31 Aug 2025 - 55min - 63 - S6E5: The Birthday Episode - Lets Get Vulnerable
Hello Hero Boys and Girls
It's my birthday :)
Oh, and I feel super cool, super excited, and yes, super vulnerable about where I am, what I want in life, and what I have to do to get there. It's just a lot of things to break down, and sometimes it's difficult to admit to ourselves that we are not where we want to be in life.
So on this solo episode, I would be getting vulnerable, open, honest, and real with you, and i will be telling you all the things that scare me as I get older

Fri, 06 Jun 2025 - 37min - 62 - S6E4: Celebrating Our 20s: Our Thoughts on Love and Marriage (Then vs Now)
Hello Hero Boys and Girls,
Welcome to HEROWNHERO POD, a podcast for women navigating life, love and career in Africa.
This season Sophia and I would be going back in memory lane, reflecting on our twenties (since we would be crossing over to the 3rd floor soon) and discussing about all the ways our lives and our beliefs have changed so far
In this episode, we dived into what love and marriage looked like in our early 20s vs. now.
From childhood crushes to the weighty expectations of adulthood, we explore how our views on love have evolved and how societal pressures influence the decisions we make about marriage.
We asked ourselves:
What did love feel like when we were younger?
When did the pressure to marry first show up?
How has our definition of “settling” changed?

Hello Hero Boys and Girls!!
We are back with a banger. its 2025 and we are back with another interesting episode where we talk about the Gen Z term for being hyper focused on your goals until you accomplish them
1. To Be Locked In 🔒🔥:Being fully focused, in the zone, and undistracted. It means you’re so dialed into what you’re doing that nothing can break your concentration.
Examples:
"Bro, I waslocked induring that exam—nothing could distract me." "She’slocked inon her fitness grind, no cheat days!"2. To Lock In 🎯✅: To commit to focusing on something or getting into a deep state of concentration. It’s like making a conscious decision to stay locked into a task.
Examples:
"Let’slock inand finish this project before midnight." "Time tolock inat the gym—no distractions, just gains!"On this episode we talk about how to lock in as a woman this year. Women struggle to lock in, perhaps this is due to societals expectations, multiple responsibilities, or just the sheer fact that women do not take their dreams as seriously as men do,.
now over to you
"why do you think women find it so hard to staylocked in?"

Panini and I talk about our experience growing up with Purity culture in religious homes, how we were raised fearing sex and knowing nothing about it.
There was no knowledge about sexual education, and our salvation and worth as women was tied to our virginity.

P. S: This episode was recorded on the 12th of October, as at which all information stated here were accurate. We are uncertain how the next few days may turn out and as such, we do not bear the risk of misinformation if subsequent changes are made in the future.
What started out as a social media hashtag has grown into a national outcry by millions of Nigerians calling for the end of the Special Anti-Robbery Squad.
Over the past days we have seen how Nigerian youths have pushed for not just the dissolution of SARS, but the end of Police Brutality.
I sat with a friend, Richard Samson, to talk about everything on the movement, from our own personal experiences with SARS to the alleged end, the new SWAT team, and the stifling of tech companies in support of the movement.
By sharing our personal experiences, we hope it has been proven that ANYONE can be a victim of this insane harassment. Kindly listen and share on all platforms.

Hello Hero Girls & Guys, 💜 The past few days has shown that we can actually be agents of change... It can only happen if you join the cause...here are ways you can 1. Share your experience with us 2. Check up on your friends and people you know 3. Use your skills to support the cause if you are a designer design...writer, then write, singer, then sing, dancer then dance 4. Seek international grants and support 5. And finally, it may look insignificant, but pray. Sun, 11 Oct 2020 - 04min - 10 - Positive Affirmations for Self Discovery
Hello Hero Girls,
Welcome to another episode of HerOwnHero Podcast, this topic is one I’ve been planning for a while. We’ll be talking about Positive affirmations and speaking words to yourself.
Why positive affirmations, because as you start your self-discovery journey, you’ll find that there are things you subconsciously believe, they affect your actions and then your life entire. It's our belief that controls our life, not our environment. You want to specifically take time to do some soul searching to find out those things you subconsciously believe.
If you'd like to know more about Self Discovery, my free ebook is a perfect place to start.

Welcome back Heroes!
We reversed the setting of this episode by placing me, on the hot seat. On this episode, I sat with Bolu Oladele to discuss the process i took to birth my ebook - A Hero Girl's Guide to Self Discovery.
This lockdown gave us the chance to self reflect and I did just that. I went to an intense study of seeking and searching, Now you do not have to do that because I’ve gathered all of these resources into this workbook for you to learn about the most important subject in the universe – You! Yes you! I believe this is the perfect time to take some time out alone and know yourself inside and out, because only then, can you truly begin your path to self discovery
If you've enjoyed this podcast, kindly share with your network and leave a review for us . we'll love your feedback about this episode
