An underrated creature feature, specifically one about sharks! This shark doesn't get the respect he deserves as a petty, vengeful predator. Yes, petty. Blake lively also delivers some amazing facial expressions (not sarcasm!). Also, don't be the kind of person that deserves to get bitten in half. This is definitely one to watch before you catch this episode!

We had the absolute pleasure of hanging out with Producer Alok Mishra and Actress Naomi Grossman (Pepper, American Horror Story) to talk about their parts in bringing 1BR to the screen!

Clowns will always be scary and this really just puts the nail on the coffin for that stereotype. One of the 2017 horror movies that revived the entire genre! Stephen King himself actually liked this version, and he almost never likes movies adapted from his books. Nostalgia, comedy, mystery, top notch special effects and of course absolute horror blend together beautifully to create what we would consider a horrific masterpiece. But there's no way we're not gonna pick on it. Some things you just never do, like talk to Sink People...

Check it, we got Freddy, Chucky, and baby girl Michael Myers in one film! Okay, they aren't those characters, but it's still pretty rad. This 1998 slasher classic is a fun ride, for some reason. We really can't put our finger on it, but aside from some logistics, it works.

Yes, another Wes Craven flick...what can we say? We have a type! Since as you are reading this, Elicia and I are hanging out for the first time in person at Texas Frightmare Weekend, we decided to Scream this week in honor of the cast who will be making appearances at this here convention. It's gonna be wild!
Sydney is one of our favorite Final Girls and Craven does it again with his ability to scare you in broad daylight! Scream is definitely a horror classic that revived the slasher genre in the best way possible. But is this movie ACTUALLY a whodunit? Hmmm....
If you aren't yet, follow us on Instagram and join in the fun! We'll be doing live videos from TFW, hopefully all weekend, but we'll see how that goes....we may be having a little too much fun. If you are attending TFW too, and see us around, come say hi!

Fri, 02 Jul 2021 - 1h 41min - 42 - Prom Night - 2008
Not really an exact remake to it's namesake, this Prom Night takes a different approach than the 1980's version, which can be a bad or good thing. Why wasn't Usher used for the Prom DJ? It would've leveled the movie up! That is not Gabrielle Union you're looking at, it's Dana Davis! But she channels Gab U. like you wouldn't believe! Alls we know is Brittany Snow's character is never going to recover from this...

Fri, 04 Jun 2021 - 57min - 38 - I Know What You Did Last Summer - 1997
It's not Summer quite yet, but we're in the mood and getting pumped for it with this classic teen slasher! All your favorite 90s/00s teens in one movie, what more could you ask for? Also, it's the movie where Freddie Prinze, Jr. and Sarah Michelle Gellar met (so many names...). It's a fun romp with a fish hook, but quite a few plotholes that we were able to find. But what slasher movies doesn't have a plot flaw here and there?
Still unsure about what this town's parade schedule is, and we would also love to speak to the jeweler who created SMG's crown!

A first time viewing for us and our guest! None of us knew what to expect and, well at least we had the same feelings about it. It's definitely a stoner comedy, which we were not expecting, because no one ever talks about it (however that should've been a clue). Much much more comedy than horror, at least it gave us that 90s nostalgia we all love. Brent Leger is joining us this week. He is one of the masterminds behind the Shudder Horror Fan Group on Facebook, where your lovely co-hostesses met! It's a great group, the Mods and Admins do their absolute best to make this group special and keep the vibes positive and they do a helluva job!

How many flies does it take to get you to leave a room? Apparently it’s a gazillion and one for Father Delaney. Good for him for sticking to his commitment. We would’ve bounced. Also, Elicia gives us a little true crime backstory on the Amityville house, which is in her home state.
Fri, 16 Apr 2021 - 1h 11min - 32 - Final Destination 5 - Special Guest: Arlen Escarpeta
What an "ending" to a series (we know they are actually making another one), talk about coming full circle.
Arlen Escarpeta was kind enough to drop by the show this week, and man did we have a good time! You may know him as "Lawrence" from Friday The 13th (2009) or maybe "Prince Ess" from The Magicians, or more importantly to this episode: "Nathan" from Final Destination 5.
Obviously, even though this episode is technically about FD5, we had to circle back to his appearance in FT13 among other things. What's it like being killed with an axe in the back? Or a barb from a collapsing bridge? He's got the answers.
Arlen also has some crazy stories including a near-death experience (not on the set of FD5, go figure), and you'll never guess who came to his rescue...
You can see Arlen most recently in Season 2 of David Makes Man, which will be streaming on HBO Max soon!
Fri, 09 Apr 2021 - 2h 00min - 31 - Final Destination 2 - 2003
Welcome our new Podcast Pals, RL and JC from Brownmint Horror Podcast to the show! Our first meet & greet with these two fellas from "Slashville", TN. Tramp stamps, whip cream boobies, horseshoe rings and everything in between.... Oh yeah, and we're talking about Final Destination 2, the movie that has ruined driving behind log trucks on the freeway forever. RL and JC bring the gripping questions and even challenge us to a little Horror Trivia. Somehow we got through the show without Gen taking on an east coast or southern accent. Elicia goes through a couple bottles of her Midori cocktail and JC shows off his Horror Den at home. Grab a drink, sit back and buckle up for this ride! P.S. We thought we lost the first 45 minute to the Zoom black hole, but it was successfully recovered. So don't mind the reintroduction, lol Next week we will be talking Final Destination 5 and we have a special guest, Arlen Escarpata who plays Nathan in the movie as well as Lawrence in Friday The 13th (2009)!
Fri, 02 Apr 2021 - 1h 27min - 30 - Final Destination - 2000
How do you beat Death’s design?? Another first for Elicia. The start of an early 2000s franchise classic. It’s basically the horror equivalent to the Fast & Furious in that they started our pretty legit then just got more ridiculous every movie. But the deaths are so fun how can you not love it?

We honestly couldn’t bring ourselves to talk about either choices we came up with this week. Boring AF! Sat, 27 Feb 2021 - 1h 05min - 25 - Doctor Sleep - 2019
This week we follow grown up Danny Torrance, played by the VERY attractive Mr. Ewan McGregor, gotta love the eye candy! More tips on how NOT to kill us and our wishes for how we die. What do you feed people who eat souls? Long life in exchange for a most certainly shitty death? No thank you. " *Next week we will be watching Gretel and Hansel, available on Prime and Hulu. **Apologies for some of the bad sounds, (that was our fault during recording, not Fred's) but it's better than my ridiculous pen clicking in the last one, amiright?
Fri, 19 Feb 2021 - 1h 26min - 24 - My Bloody Valentine - 1981 & 2009
Happy V-Day Weekend! Yes, we are talking about My Bloody Valentine this week, cuz we're basic like that. We are talking about both the 1981 version and the 2009 remake starring Kerr Smith and Jensen Ackles. Neither of us had seen either movie, and we were NOT looking forward to it, but we were pleasantly surprised. This is a fun slasher for people who can appreciate a creative kill or two. Dying naked is a terrible way to go, and we learned screenwriters have no ass.
Check out our Instagram and YouTube Channel for some uncut scenes from the 1981 version!
Fri, 12 Feb 2021 - 1h 28min - 23 - The Shining - 1980
It's Gen's turn for a first! Another classic highly revered as one of the greatest movies, horror or not. It's winter time, it's cold, there's no one around for miles...we're actually talking about the lockdown, but that' why this movies is very timely for us to watch. Honestly, the entire situation could've been avoided had Jack said "No" when he heard "Indian burial ground", nothing good ever comes from building on an ancient Indian burial ground. This is also a good example of why one should caution parents and not just their child with the little boy in his mouth. Let's be honest, now that we've come close to experiencing this type of isolation, are we really still calling Jack a bad guy? All work and no play makes Elicia and Gen dull girls, so come play with us!
Fri, 05 Feb 2021 - 1h 19min - 22 - The Thing - 2011
The last of our The Thing Trilogy! Elicia barely survived, but she made it! Kate Lloyd (Mary E. Winstead) is Ellen Ripley re-incarnated and she's a bad ass! Is she an underrated, overlooked Final Girl? Might be our new favorite. We discuss the flight instinct differences for certain ethnicities. Lessons Learned: 1. Remember, it's always acceptable to "Nope" the f*%ck out of any shady situation, including a scientist with a vague mission in the middle of a frozen tundra. 2. Don't ever go alone with someone when you believe a killer is on the lose, whether it be human or creepazoid from outerspace. 3. Not brushing and flossing properly could save your life one day. 4. You can always "Nope" the f*%k out... 5. If you fall from a high distance, try to land on your chest, because apparently you can get right back up. 6. Always remember where your piercings are 7. In any situation where you are being attacked by anything: CLOSE YOUR DAMN MOUTH!
Fri, 29 Jan 2021 - 54min - 21 - The Thing - 1982
This week we popped Elicia's "John Carpenter's The Thing" cherry! Did she love it? Did she hate it? Tune in to find out... As you know, we are die-hard fans of special effects, and this is still one of the best uses of it for a horror movie to this day. The Thing was the highest budgeted horror film at the time. The kills are like nothing that had ever been seen before and it was a huge failure at the box office. Critics said it looked "phony" and it was too gory (If only they could see what we got now...) But when it was released on VHS and television, it became a cult classic and is now revered as one of the greatest horror movies of all time. The moral of the story is never give up...and critics suck. **WARNING SPOILER ALERT: There are The Thing 2011 spoilers in this episode. We warn you when it's coming, but if you haven't seen it yet, you may want to watch it before tuning in for this one!**
Fri, 22 Jan 2021 - 53min - 20 - The Thing - 1951
Happy New Year Horror Fam! We're kicking off 2021 with a wintery classic, "The Thing From Another World" from 1951. Even though it's pretty slow, and not very scary for our time, it definitely inspired John Carpenter to take a swing at it and boy did he! This is the blueprint for, in my (Gen's) opinion, one of the scariest horror movie to come out of the 80s. If you're not into classic films, this may not be your cup of tea, the pacing is definitely hard to get into. But again, it's a classic and we had to watch for the sake of the Pod! Next week, obviously, we will be reviewing The Thing (1981) and that should be a great show! Fun Fact: Elicia has never seen any of these, so that's pretty exciting, I'm pretty excited to get her take on 1981!
Fri, 08 Jan 2021 - 41min - 19 - Christmas Vacation - 1989
MERRY CHRISTMAS, HOLY SHIT! The Griswold family Christmas is a horrifying experience if ever there was one. Ellen Griswold is a saint for the shit she puts up with. She must be on lithium, because she keeps her cool the entire time. This family as a whole is tolerable, other than Clark, who is just a selfish asshole. Audrey sticks by her dad when her grandmother tries to put him down and Rusty is basically the man of the house since his father is a bumbling buffoon. Seriously, Rusty doesn't get enough credit for his contribution to the Griswold household. The holiday is already off to a rough start with a creepy, hillbilly trucker altercation and a near-death experience, that has the Griswolds driving underneath a semi truck! Once they've gotten things under control, that's when the cavalry comes in. Both sets of grandparents (who don't get along), and an unexpected visit from Cousin Eddie and his family. It's disaster after disaster for this Christmas movie (that actually ends on Christmas Eve), that really seals in that horror movie flavor. We found some fun trivia goodies, like how much it cost Clark to run al those damn lights, and which director turned down the chance to work on this film. Also, if you don't rock a white sweater with a black, turtleneck dickie underneath at some point in your life, what are you even doing?
Fri, 25 Dec 2020 - 1h 35min - 18 - Krampus - 2015
It's most wonderful time, to be feared! There'll be families hosting and children for roasting and freezing to death in the snow!
One of Gen's favorite Christmas horror movies, Krampus is on deck this week. Elicia is a Krampus Virgin so this was a fun cherry to pop!
Oh joy, the extended family is coming to dinner! This family alone is a true nightmare before Krampus even enters the scene. Max agrees as he's the one who ends up giving up on Christmas and unknowingly summons the "Shadow of St Nicholas", Krampus himself.
Who doesn't love a movie where they aren't afraid to show a horrible kid get swallowed whole? The costuming, special effects and story give this ancient legend a modern and absolutely terrifying look. You can't ever beat well done practical effects, which this movies does extremely well and still utilizes CGI in an appropriate non-overbearing way, it's brilliant!
Grab some hot cocoa or some eggnog (don't be afraid to add a little peppermint Schnapp's) and curl up with us!
Fri, 18 Dec 2020 - 1h 09min - 17 - Black Christmas - 2019 (or "The Skulls IV")
The only redeeming factor for having to watch this movie was we got to talk shit about it with Matt & Drew. Had they called it "The Skulls IV", this movie would've had a less cheese-grater-to-the-brain feel to it and been only slightly easier to digest. Still entirely too preachy, but at least it would've fit with the overall themes of it's predecessors. This feels like a trap! You go in expecting one thing, and you end up with something else entirely. Don't bother watching it, this episode will sum it up pretty nicely for you. Especially if your horror palette tends to align with ours. They decided to update Black Christmas with a more in-your-face message, and we are not here for it. For true horror fans, it should be a big disappoint. Little to no horror, a phone-in villain and the character development is practically non-existent. And don't even try to blame this on it being because it's a female-driven movie, we're not hearing it! Fri, 11 Dec 2020 - 1h 49min - 16 - Black Christmas - 2006
There's no way we could get through these two remakes alone, so we invited Matt & Drew from The Post Credit Podcast to come join us, cuz, you know, misery loves company. Our first guest spot was on The Post Credit and we took on Thirteen Ghosts with them, go check that out if you're not too wasted in preparation for this episode. This week we're talking about the 2006 version of Black Christmas. If you could make it through the movie, you can make it through this episode. They could've at least given the girls the same names as the original, it would've been easier to keep track of them all. No joke, though, the director didn't even like the end product, so we don't feel too bad about our commentary. We wish we could tell you the worst part of this movie, but there are just too many to choose from. Fri, 04 Dec 2020 - 1h 18min - 15 - Black Christmas - 1974
This was almost the movie that broke us, but we powered through! One of Elicia's favorite horror films and Gen was bored. We definitely agree that neither of us would've gotten away with talking to our mothers the way Barb did. Phil is a national treasure, and the House Mother is our spirit animal. And as always, cats get you killed.
Sat, 28 Nov 2020 - 1h 17min - 14 - Thankskilling - Writer/Director/Turkie Jordan Downey
“Gobble, gobble, mother f&$ker!” With those words a Thanksgiving horror movie was born. Jordan Downey hangs with us and gives us the inside scoop on all the magic that was stuffed into this low-budget, cult classic production. A ridiculously bad, but fun horror spoof with a cornucopia of vulgarity, outrageous kills and good clean family fun! Just kidding, this movie is NOT for (most) families. Although Jordan’s family was cool enough to help make the film, which we give them props for!

Fri, 20 Nov 2020 - 1h 23min - 13 - Freddy Vs. Jason - 13th Ep. on The 13th!
Happy Friday The 13th! Our 13th episode on the 13th, that’s gotta be good luck, right? Since Nightmare On Elm Street is Gen’s fave, and Elicia loves Friday The 13th, and we’ve already talked about both, we thought it’d be fitting to discuss the ultimate horror match-up of Freddy Vs. Jason! We talk about directors that didn’t happen, why Betsy Palmer didn’t make her cameo and what kind of bed was that guy sleeping on??
Fri, 13 Nov 2020 - 1h 24min - 12 - Nightmare Cinema - Interview with Producer Joe Russo
We got to have a little chat with one of the producers of the Shudder exclusive, Nightmare Cinema! This fun anthology addresses almost every fear you could imagine, and has some sweet horror homages. Joe gives us some insight into the horror movie making process and talks about what it’s like to be mistaken for the Director of Avengers. You’re lucky we were able to get this episode down to an hour and a half, cuz we definitely held him hostage for 2+ hours.

Fri, 06 Nov 2020 - 1h 31min - 11 - Halloween - 1978
Ahhhhh!! The only way to cleanse our palettes of the last cinematic disaster was to end with the original, so that’s what we did, in case you were confused by the old switcharoo we pulled. What can we say? It’s the OG John Carpenter film with Jamie Lee Curtis, the OG Scream Queen! Michael Meyers was one of the first Slasher monsters to hit the big screen and will always be a legend. Spoiler Alert: WE LIKE THIS ONE!
Fri, 30 Oct 2020 - 1h 11min - 10 - Halloween - 2007
Probably the least fun show we’ll ever have. What can you say about the worst remake in the history of horror cinema? You will not change our minds. But if you’d like to try, go ahead and send us an email, tweet or carrier pigeon (since that’s what you use, because you obviously live in a cave if you enjoyed this train wreck.) Luckily we edited out the awkward silences. Although those were eerily more entertaining than the actual movie. If you haven’t seen, don’t feel like you need to just to listen to this episode. Please let us spoil it for you and save you some time. We dreaded this so much, we decided to do remake then original, because we wanted to end on a high note. We got nothing....
Fri, 23 Oct 2020 - 57min - 9 - Interview with “Bad Parts” author, Brandon McNulty
“For decades the residents of Hollow Hills, Pennsylvania, have offered their diseased and injured body parts to a creek demon named Snare. In return, Snare rewards its Traders with healthy replacement parts. There's only one catch: if Traders leave town, their new parts vanish forever.”
This episode we’re hanging out with Brandon McNulty, the author of supernatural thriller, Bad Parts. He gives us a little insight to his inspiration for this story and how it came to retail bookshelves! As always, don’t be surprised by the tangents...
**Spoiler Alert** Evil dead Dark Tower (book not movie) Gone Girl Girl on the Train Midsommar Beware! If you haven’t seen any or all of these be ready to skip some parts!

Fri, 16 Oct 2020 - 1h 51min - 8 - Fright Night - 2011
Now here’s a vampire we wouldn’t mind sucking on our necks. Colin Farrell would need zero effort to get invited into our home, vampire or not. Also an appearance by our favorite Doctor. This remake answers a few questions left to figure out it in the original and makes good use of Toni Collette cast as the mom. BTW how do we get David Tennant on our show?
Fri, 09 Oct 2020 - 43min - 7 - Fright Night - 1985
Don’t Tell Mom, A Sexy Vampire Moved In Next Door! At least that’s what we would’ve called it. Has a nice ring to it, yeah? Boy has girl, won’t give it up, girl meets vampire and become sex kitten. There’s other stuff that happens too.
Fri, 02 Oct 2020 - 42min - 6 - House of Wax - 2005
Soooo many reasons to pack their shit and go home, yet this sexually-fueled, rambunctious bunch of teens decide to stay at their makeshift campground and continue to make bad choices. The WB (now known as “The CW”, was kind enough to loan out a couple of actors from its stable, which makes for some decent eye candy. Thankfully, the only thing this remake has in common with the original is the name. **The sound ghosts got into the mic this episode. We’ll try to have them busted by the next one.
Fri, 25 Sep 2020 - 59min - 5 - House of Wax - 1953
Our first 1950s horror movie: House of Wax starring Vincent Price and a young, strapping Charles Bronson. This movie has everything from some smart Final Girl moves to good old fashioned chauvinism to cheesy 3D gags, but is it worth the watch? Listen and find out!
Fri, 18 Sep 2020 - 40min - 4 - Hangout with “Fried Barry” Writer/Director, Ryan Kruger
Episode 4: What’s Up with Ryan Kruger? It’s our first interview episode! We got to sit down and pick the brain of Writer/Director Ryan Kruger about his new horror/comedy “Fried Barry”, which is currently hitting the festival circuit at full throttle! As a special treat, Ryan let us use part of the soundtrack in our into for this episode! **Note: no horses, snakes or ants were harmed in the taping of this show. - 2 - Nightmare on Elm Street - 1984 vs. 2010
In today's episode Elicia and Gen discuss the 1984 and 2010 versions of Nightmare on Elm Street. This was Johnny Depp's first movie role and the part Robert Englund was born to play! Some other topics discussed include the style of the ending (Elicia is not a fan), Nancy's mom hiding an entire bottle of vodka in bed, the worthlessness of having a boyfriend in high school and lots of other fun stuff!
