Max and Hasnaien are two Canadians who have been learning Mandarin for a few years and are excited to share their own homemade tips and tricks for learning Mandarin but aren't so far gone that they don't understand the grind of learning Chinese. If you're brand new to learning Chinese or wanting to brush up on your basics, feel free to start right at Episode 1, which is the first episode of our Tones and Pīnyīn Mini-series. Comprehensible Input is a powerful and efficient way of learning a language in which a learner consumes high volumes of target-language media content and lets their brain do the task of pattern recognition to learn vocabulary in context and infer grammar rules intuitively. We are taking Mandarin content and making it just the right amount comprehensible for beginner and intermediate learners, and this first episode breaks down a high-yield paragraph from Angela Lee Duckworth's TED Talk "Grit: The power of passion and perseverance".
