  • 310 - MALISHKA & NEHA SINGH — RECLAIMING THE RIGHT TO PUBLIC SPACES

Malishka spoke to Neha Singh, who was part of the Why Loiter movement that began in Mumbai in 2014, to understand the idea behind reclaiming public spaces and the larger thought behind the Walk for Women. Ahead of the October 2 walk, the conversation explored why women should be able to walk, sit, travel, meet friends or simply spend time in public spaces without fear or judgement. Malishka brought the campaign to her listeners, explaining why the walk is happening, what it hopes to highlight and why creating safer, more inclusive public spaces is a conversation that concerns everyone.

  • 308 - THINK & DRIVE — MALISHKA’S CAMPAIGN FOR RESPONSIBLE DRIVING

With Mumbai witnessing a worrying rise in road accidents, Malishka turned the spotlight on one of the biggest distractions behind the wheel  our phones.

Through THINK & DRIVE, a campaign on Morning No.1, Malishka opened up a larger conversation around responsible driving, divided attention and the dangerous habit of using mobile phones while driving. The campaign questioned how a few seconds of distraction can take a driver’s eyes, mind and focus away from the road  putting not just the driver, but every commuter and pedestrian around them at risk.

To take the conversation beyond awareness, Malishka brought in Senior Psychologist Parveen Sheikh, who decoded the science behind attention and distraction  explaining how multitasking while driving can affect our ability to process what is happening on the road, even when we believe we are “in control.”

The campaign then moved from the psychology of distraction to the law around it. High Court Criminal Lawyer Trivan Kumar Karnani joined the show to break down the legal implications of using a phone while driving. He addressed a common misconception  that taking calls through car Bluetooth or a hands-free system automatically makes it legal  and clarified the legal position for listeners. He also answered their real-life questions and cleared their doubts around what is and isn’t permissible while driving.

THINK & DRIVE became more than a campaign about keeping your phone away. It became a conversation about where our attention belongs when we are behind the wheel — on the road, on the people around us, and on getting home safely.

  • 307 - TROLLING: JOKE YA JUDGEMENT? MALISHKA SPEAKS UP

As conversations around celebrity trolling came into the spotlight, especially after Salman Khan addressed trolling on Bigg Boss Season 20, Malishka took the discussion to her show and looked beyond the headlines.

From Katrina Kaif being trolled over her post-pregnancy weight, Sohail Khan being targeted over his weight, Varun Dhawan being trolled for his smile, to Salman himself facing comments about his appearance and weight  the conversation highlighted how quickly social media turns personal.

Malishka explored what constant trolling does to a person emotionally and psychologically, and how comments about someone’s body, appearance or choices can impact confidence, self-image and mental well-being.

To take the conversation deeper, Senior Psychologist Parveen Sheikh joined Malishka on the show to explain the psychological impact of online trolling, why people tend to internalise repeated negativity and how something that may seem like “just a comment” can leave a lasting impact.

The conversation became a reminder that behind every social media profile is a real person  and words typed casually can affect someone deeply.
