Fri, 15 May 2026 - 3896 - The Terrible Podcast – Steelers 2026 Schedule Recap, Offseason Stat Projections, Team Videos & More
May 15, 2026 - Season 16, Episode 136 of The Terrible Podcast is now in the can. In this Friday morning show, Alex Kozora and I get right into discussing the annual NFL schedule leak process and how two social media accounts seem to always get all the games correct ahead of time. The Steelers made one signing since our last show, so Alex and I recap the team’s newest player. We also discuss former CB Cory Trice Jr. clearing waivers this week and what to look for concerning his status moving forward. The Steelers might get rookie WR Germie Bernard signed to his rookie contract sooner than expected and mainly because of the player drafted right after him being signed on Thursday. We explain why we now think that. With the complete 2026 NFL schedule now in our hands, Alex and I go over the teams, three preseason games and the who, what, when, and where of their 17 regular season games. We discuss the good, bad, and ugly related to the regular season schedule. We also go over a few trends related to several of the team’s 2026 opponents. We also make sure to interject several of the early betting lines for multiple games. Was the 2026 Steelers schedule designed with QB Aaron Rodgers in mind? We go over what Mike North, Media Vice President of Broadcast Planning for the NFL, had to say regarding that question during a Friday morning interview. What did we think about the Steelers 2026 schedule release video that dropped on Thursday night? Alex and I give our answers to that question in addition to talking a little bit about a few other schedule release videos that other NFL teams released. On the heels of Mike Clay of ESPN releasing his early player stat predictions for the 2026 season, Alex and I, as usual, review those and comment on several of them. This 87-minute episode also discusses several other minor topics not noted in the recap above and we make sure to answer a few listener emails we have received to close out this show. steelersdepot.com Learn more about your ad choices. Wed, 13 May 2026 - 3893 - The Terrible Podcast - Steelers To Paris, Trice Waived, Boswell Extension, Khan Comment, Offseason Moves & More
May 13, 2026 - Season 16, Episode 135 of The Terrible Podcast is now in the can. In this Wednesday morning show, Alex Kozora and I get right into discussing the Pittsburgh Steelers now being scheduled to play the New Orleans Saints in Paris, France in Week 7 of the 2026 regular season. We discuss how that game is likely to upset most fans of the Steelers and especially those that live in the southeastern part of the United States. The Steelers waived CB Cory Trice Jr. on Tuesday with a failed physical designation so we discuss that transaction and how the team's former seventh-round selection out of Purdue never could shake injuries since he was drafted. The Steelers added a new center after their rookie minicamp took place last weekend, so Alex and I discuss the addition of Greg Crippen out of Michigan and the corresponding roster move. Steelers OT Broderick Jones was photographed taking part in the team's Tuesday Phase 2 activities, so Alex and I discuss how that should be taken as a positive at this point of the offseason. On the heels of the Steelers signing K Chris Boswell to a four-year, $28 million contract extension on Monday, Alex and I discuss that transaction and everything we know about the new deal up until this point. Steelers GM Omar Khan talked briefly about other contract extensions that could take place this offseason during a recent podcast appearance, so Alex and I parse all that he said on that topic. With Steelers TE Darnell Washington being a strong candidate for an offseason contract extension, Alex and I dive deeper into what his APY market value seems to be at this point. Alex recently ranked the Steelers' top offseason moves to date, so we roll through those and where he had each one listed. This 83-minute episode also discusses several other minor topics not noted in the recap above and we make sure to answer a few listener emails we have received to close out this show. steelersdepot.com Learn more about your ad choices. Mon, 11 May 2026 - 3888 - The Terrible Podcast - Rookie Minicamp Takeaways, Benton Value, Draft Pick Signings, & More
May 11, 2026 - Season 16, Episode 134 of The Terrible Podcast is now in the can. In this Monday morning show, Alex Kozora and I get right into discussing the Pittsburgh Steelers getting six of their 2026 draft class members signed to their rookie contracts over the weekend. We also talk about timelines related to the Steelers getting the remaining four members of their draft class signed to their rookie contracts. The Steelers held their annul rookie minicamp over the weekend so with that event now being completed, Alex and I give our main takeaways and things that stood out to us on Friday and Saturday. Alex and In begrudgingly discuss the latest news and non-news related to QB Aaron Rodgers, who was supposedly back in Pittsburgh over the weekend. Alex and I also discuss a few things that Steelers HC Mike McCarthy had to say on Saturday. Additionally, we go over the post that Alex wrote this weekend on McCarthy's quarterback class video that was posted several years ago when he was with the Green Bay Packers. The first Sunday night regular season game of 2026 will feature the Dallas Cowboys playing the New York Giants, so Alex and I quickly discuss that news. We also talk about the Steelers possibly opening their 2026 regular season at home and if we might see the Houston Texans being their opponent in Week 1. Alex and I have an extended discussion about the Steelers DT Keeanu Benton during this show when it comes to him possibly signing a contract extension this offseason. We discuss an exp[ended APY this offseason for Benton and whether we both think the Steelers will ultimately get a deal done with him this summer. We also discuss whether Benton might be wise to bet on himself in 2026 in hopes of getting a huge payday next March as an unrestricted free agent. Later in this show, Alex and I discuss Steelers RB Kaleb Johnson and the possibility of him being cut or traded right before the start of the 2026 regular season. This 98-minute episode also discusses several other minor topics not noted in the recap above and we make sure to answer a few listener emails we have received to close out this show. steelersdepot.com Learn more about your ad choices. Fri, 08 May 2026 - 3884 - The Terrible Podcast — 2026 Draft Class Numbers, Rookie Minicamp Roster Review, Rodgers Whereabouts & More
May 8, 2026 - Season 16, Episode 133 of The Terrible Podcast is now in the can. In this delayed Friday morning show, Alex Kozora and I get right into discussing the initial jersey numbers for the Pittsburgh Steelers 2026 draft class that have now been announced by the team. We also make sure to caution that several of them might change by the start of the regular season. The Steelers have now also released their 2026 rookie minicamp roster for this weekend, so Alex and I quickly parse that list of 40 players and what sticks out overall as it relates to it. Might P Ryan Stonehouse, who is one of the several tryout players this weekend, be a serious candidate to get signed after this weekend? We discuss his brief NFL history and how he seems like a potential logical candidate to compete against Steelers P Cameron Johnston this summer. There have been quite a few updates regarding QB Aaron Rodgers since Thursday morning, so Alex and I pour over all of them. We discuss Rodgers reportedly being set to come to Pittsburgh this weekend for starters. We then go over what Steelers GM Omar Khan had to say to Chris Mack on Friday morning when it comes to Rodgers' current whereabouts. We also discuss the Friday morning reporting from Mark Kaboly on Rodgers and how he will possibly not visit the Steelers this weekend at all. Alex and I go over what a fair base market value for Rodgers should be this offseason and if contract discussions might be playing any role in him not yet re-signing with the Steelers. Al in all, we make it known that there's probably a good chance that nobody really knows where Rodgers is currently as far as his current location, decision-making process, and timeline. Much later in this shorter show, Alex and I begin speculating on the current market value of Steelers DT Keeanu Benton, who many think has a great shot at signing a contract extension this offseason. We go over a list of comparable players to Benton right now and the current market values of each. We will continue this conversation on Benton on the Monday show. This 33-minute episode also discusses several other minor topics not noted in the recap above and we are sorry that technical difficulties resulted in it being shorter than usual. steelersdepot.com Learn more about your ad choices. In this Wednesday morning show, Alex Kozora and I get right into discussing the recent transactions made by the Pittsburgh Steelers. We speculate the seriousness of the recent injury sustained by DB Daequan Hardy that landed in on the Reserve/Injured list on Tuesday and how TE Joaquin Bell now fits back on the offseason roster since he was re-signed. With the recent speculation and rumblings related to QB Aaron Rodgers possibly landing with the Arizona Cardinals this offseason in lieu of him re-signing with the Steelers, Alex and I go over that topic. We address what a Cardinals beat writer had to say on Tuesday about that possibility and also quickly go over what new Arizona HC Mike LaFleur had to say about Rodgers during his recent interview with Jim Rome. In the middle of this Wednesday show, Alex and I conduct our annual post-draft roundtable session with several of the sites draft content contributors. This means that we are joined Wednesday morning by Ross McCorkle, Joe Clark, Josh Carney, Tom Mead, Jake Brockhoff, and Ryan Paglia as we look to get more extended thoughts from each on each of the 10 selections that the Steelers made during the 2026 NFL Draft. In this Monday morning show, Alex Kozora and I get right into discussing the expectations for the annual releasing of the regular season schedule and how we might be waiting two more weeks for that event to transpire. Alex has recently completed profiles on two of the undrafted free agents recently signed by the Pittsburgh Steelers, K Laith Marjan and DT Kevin Jobity Jr., so on the heels of those being published, we discuss what he learned about both players. Now that we have fully looked at and learned a lot about each of the members of the Steelers 2026 draft class, Alex and I give our expectations for each player when it comes to their rookie seasons. We spend a lot of time talking about QB Drew Allar and KR/WR Kaden Wetjen during this segment as well. With there being a lot of talk right now about the Steelers potentially signing OLB Nick Herbig to a contract extension this offseason, Alex and I discuss how it might be in his best interest to bet on himself in 2026. May 1, 2026 - Season 16, Episode 130 of The Terrible Podcast is now in the can. In this Friday morning show, Alex Kozora and I get right into discussing the Pittsburgh Steelers and their decision to not pick up the fifth-year option on OT Broderick Jones this offseason. We also discuss whether that decision would have been different had Jones not gotten injured last season. Steelers WR Roman Wilson is reportedly changing his jersey number this offseason, so Alex and I go over that news in addition to a few other number changes that have apparently been made so far this offseason. In the middle of this show, Alex and I go over the latest salary cap update for the Steelers on the heels of the team's draft haul and the unrestricted free agent tendering of QB Aaron Rodgers. We also discuss the effective future salary cap space the Steelers now have and if the team will ultimately need to restructure a contract or two later in the offseason. With the annual NFL draft now behind us, Alex and I discuss the loud consensus draft board discussions going on right now. Is the consensus board a real thing? Who says so and what evidence is there that most NFL teams use it? We attempt to address those questions. Alex and I also discuss the Steelers and their need to start drafting and developing better, as evidenced by the team's top 10 cash earners for 2026 as of May 1. Steelers HC Mike McCarthy has had a few radio interviews since the draft has ended so we highlight a few of the notable things that he said during a few of them. Is new Steelers RB/WR Eli Heidenreich indeed the team's best seventh-round draft pick of all-time? Steelers team president Art Rooney II sure seemed to indicate that during a recent television interview, so we discuss what he had to say about the Navy product much later in this show. Next, we single out the Drew Allar pick and give our opinions. What does it mean for Will Howard? Was this too high for a project? And what did the Steelers have to say about his potential? We answer all of that and more. Last, we talk the little-known unrestricted tender placed on Aaron Rodgers and whether that changes anything in their current situation waiting for him still. We wrap up the show with a listener question on Rodgers and Allar. Thank you for joining us for this 47-minute episode, and we hope to see your thoughts in the comment section. April 29, 2026 - Season 16, Episode 129 of The Terrible Podcast is now in the can. In this Wednesday morning show, Alex Kozora and I get right into discussing the Pittsburgh Steelers and the recent roster moves the team has made. We discuss DL Dean Lowry deciding not to sign just yet and the Steelers cutting WR/QB John Rhys Plumlee on Tuesday. We also discuss the roster total number entering Wednesday. The Steelers surprised a lot of people on Tuesday when they placed an unrestricted free agent tender on QB Aaron Rodgers. Because of that move, Alex and I discuss the who, what, when and where related to the transaction. We attempt to clarify everything related to the tender and how it relates to the compensatory draft pick formula. Alex and I also discuss how Rodgers might take the tender transaction in addition to us building a short list of teams that might potentially consider signing Rodgers before July 22. Gerry Dulac of the Pittsburgh Post-Gazette seems pretty convinced that the Steelers won't go into the regular season with young quarterbacks Will Howard and Drew Allar as the only two backups behind Rodgers should he ultimately re-sign with the team. We give our thoughts on what Dulac said on the topic during the middle of this show. Later in this show, Alex and I reveal our initial 53-man roster predictions for the 2026 season now that the draft has concluded. We highlight our few differences and go over our reasons for them. Former Steelers HC Mike Tomlin is now officially a member of the NBC Sports team and his Sunday night interview with Maria Taylor included his reasons for stepping down this past offseason and whether he thinks QB Aaron Rodgers will re-sign with Pittsburgh. Alex and I make sure to recap what all Tomlin said to Taylor during that Sunday interview. In the middle of this show, Alex and I are joined by Brad Denny, who covers Arizona State for 3TV and CBS 5 in Tempe, AZ. Brad gives us a rundown on two Arizona State products that are now members of the Steelers, first-round OT Max Iheanachor and undrafted free agent TE Chamon Metayer. He goes over his likes and dislikes when it comes to the team's 10 selections in 2026. If you’re not already doing so, please follow Brad on Twitter/X at BDenny29. We discuss convictions and wants related to perceived draft value. After recapping the Steelers day-three draft picks, Alex and I discuss the growing list of undrafted free agents that the Steelers have reportedly agreed to terms with as of Sunday morning. Just five players on that list with more likely to be known by Monday morning. We also discuss when the Steelers are likely to hold their annual rookie minicamp now that the draft is over with. April 25, 2026 - Season 16, Episode 126 of The Terrible Podcast is now in the can. In this Saturday morning show, Alex Kozora and I get right into discussing the four Friday selections that the Pittsburgh Steelers made during day-two of the 2026 NFL Draft. Alex and I thoroughly profile the selections of WR Germie Bernard, QB Drew Allar, CB Daylen Everette, and OL Gennings Dunker on Saturday morning. We also talk about where all four of the players fit positionally and how and how much each one of the four could contribute to the Steelers in 2026. With the Steelers drafting yet another quarterback this year, Alex and I discuss what the future now probably holds for QB Mason Rudolph, and especially should QB Aaron Rodgers ultimately re-sign with the team this offseason. We talk about the timeline moving forward for Rudolph as far as him possibly being traded and much more. After recapping the Steelers day-two draft picks and our conversation about Rudolph, Alex and I look at the five scheduled selections the Steelers have remaining for day-three. We discuss the positions the Steelers will likely draft on Saturday and go over our complete lists of logical selection candidates during day-three. Fri, 24 Apr 2026 - 3859 - The Terrible Podcast — Max Iheanachor Selection, Eagles Snatching Makai Lemon, Steelers Day-2 Options & More
April 24, 2026 - Season 16, Episode 125 of The Terrible Podcast is now in the can. In this Friday morning show, Alex Kozora and I get right into discussing the Pittsburgh Steelers selecting OT Max Iheanachor out of Arizona State with their first-round pick in the 2026 NFL Draft. We discuss what the Steelers are getting in Iheanachor, his strengths and weaknesses, and how he probably fits in positionally on the offensive line as a rookie. Alex and I discuss what Steelers GM Omar Khan and HC Mike McCarthy both had to say about Iheanachor following the selection of the tackle in the first round. We also discuss whether OT Troy Fautanu will shift over to the left side at some point as well as the future of OT Broderick Jones moving forward into the coming season. The Steelers were poised to select WR Makai Lemon out of USC with their first-round selection and even had him on the phone prior to the Philadelphia Eagles trading ahead of them to snatch the wide receiver before Pittsburgh was officially on the clock. We discuss the overall process that led to Lemon being snaked via a trade with the Dallas Cowboys and how it makes Pittsburgh's front office look bad overall. The Steelers seemed to use most of their clock time before turning in their selection of Iheanachor so we discuss what may have led to that. We talk about the Steelers failing to trade up one spot for Lemon and then apparently not being able to trade back in the first round after the Eagles picked the wide receiver. Alex and I discuss the importance of looking at what happened Thursday with separate views as it relates to Iheanachor and the overall process that led to him being their selection. After recapping everything related to the Steelers first round selection on Thursday night, Alex and I go over several possible and realistic Friday night targets for the Steelers in Rounds 2 and 3. We make sure to discuss how both of us would like to see the Steelers trade up on Friday night and thus go get a player or players they really want, and especially after failing to land Lemon in the first round. Tue, 21 Apr 2026 - 3854 - The Terrible Podcast — Pre-Draft Presser Recap, Rooney On Rodgers, Tomlin To NBC, Contracts & More
April 21, 2026 - Season 16, Episode 123 of The Terrible Podcast is now in the can. In this Tuesday morning show, Alex Kozora and I get right into discussing former Pittsburgh Steelers HC Mike Tomlin being hired by NBC as part of their Sunday Night Football crew. Steelers team president Art Rooney II recently addressed the wait for QB Aaron Rodgers to decide on his future during an interview, so we make sure to recap what he had to say on a possible timeline moving forward with the 2026 NFL Draft now right around the corner. The contract details related to the Steelers’ recent signings of OL Brock Hoffman and RB Travis Homer are now known as of Tuesday morning, so Alex and I recap those figures during the first half of this episode. On the heels of Steelers GM Omar Khan and HC Mike McCarthy holding their pre-draft press conference on Monday, Alex and I make sure recap everything notable that was said during it. We parse a lot of quotes from Khan and McCarthy from Monday. This leads to good discussions of various key topics related to both the draft and other things. At the end of this show, Alex and I go over the combined deep reception stats from the last two seasons of the top 15 wide receiver prospects in the annual Dane Brugler draft guide. April 17, 2026 - Season 16, Episode 121 of The Terrible Podcast is now in the can. In this Friday morning show, Alex Kozora and I get right into discussing the final known pre-draft visitor that the Pittsburgh Steelers hosted on Wednesday. That means we discuss DB Treydan Stukes, an Arizona product, following his visit to Pittsburgh on Wednesday. We go over Stukes' fit in Pittsburgh and when he is most likely to get drafted. After reviewing the final list of the Steelers' pre-draft visitors for 2026, Alex and I spend some time talking about whether the team will select a quarterback this year and how soon if they do. We also discuss how many other teams are likely to select a quarterback during the first four rounds of the 2026 NFL Draft and if that might impact the Steelers when it comes to them waiting to select one until after the fourth round. The Steelers made their three new coordinators, Brian Angelichio (OC), Patrick Graham (DC), and Danny Crossman (STC), available to the media on Friday morning and on the heels of those sessions, we discuss a few notable things that were said by each of the three coaches. Alex conducted a live mock draft on Thursday night, and he streamed it on YouTube. Additionally, several listeners took part in it as GMs of other NFL teams. We discuss the team that Alex was able to draft for the Steelers during that four round mock and we go over a few takeaways that were learned from it as well. April 15, 2026 - Season 16, Episode 120 of The Terrible Podcast is now in the can. That means the discuss QB Drew Allar, OG Olaivavega Ioane, OG Beau Stephens, TE Will Kacmarek, OL Spencer Fano, WR Germie Bernard, and QB Taylen Green all coming to Pittsburgh since our last show on Monday. As Alex and I await word on the 30th pre-draft visitor to surface, we go over the list of 29 known non-local players that have come to Pittsburgh with our focus being on those that are legitimate candidates to be the team's first-round selection this year. WR Omar Cooper Jr. isn't going to be on the Steelers' pre-draft visitor list this year, so we go over that bit of news and what that likely means for his chances of being the team's first-round pick this year. Alex recently posted version 3.0 of his offseason mock draft series so with that, we review the 12 selections he has for the Steelers. We also make sure to plug our upcoming livestreamed mock draft that Alex will be running on Thursday night. Alex also recently posted about three trade scenarios for the Steelers during the 2026 NFL Draft, so we review his ideas related to that topic. I also get Alex's thoughts on one other possible trade scenario in the first round for the Steelers. April 13, 2026 - Season 16, Episode 119 of The Terrible Podcast is now in the can. In this Monday morning show, Alex Kozora and I get right into discussing the pre-draft visitors the team recently hosted on Friday. That means that we fully discuss three draft prospects in OT Travis Burke, LB Harold Perkins, and CB Malik Muhammad. With the Steelers bringing in quite a few cornerbacks for pre-draft visits this year, Alex and I examine the possibility of the team selecting one in the first two days of the 2026 NFL Draft and even as early as the second round at 53rd overall. On the heels of Alex doing a draft study on wide receivers that have been selected over the years, we ho over the one player that checked every box and the few that were able to check all but one of the testing boxes. We discuss how future studies for other positions are likely to go by the wayside due to most players have incomplete pre-draft testing profiles. Could and should the Steelers select a punter this year during the draft? Alex and I attempt to answer that question later in this show and as part of that, we look at the top punter in this draft class. April 10, 2026 - Season 16, Episode 118 of The Terrible Podcast is now in the can. In this Friday morning show, which was recorded late Thursday night, Alex Kozora and I get right into discussing the recent pre-draft visitors that the team hosted. That means that we fully discuss three draft prospects in WR Makai Lemon, S Emmanuel McNeil-Warren, and TE Marlin Klein. Alex and I also go over the 16 prospects that are scheduled to attend the 2026 NFL Draft in Pittsburgh in two weeks. After going over that list of players, we note a few interesting things concerning a few of those players along with the positions represented. After the pre-draft visitor and draft attendee discussions, Alex and I discuss the recent post I wrote concerning the plausibility of the Steelers trading up in the first round with the Dallas Cowboys. We go over whether the Steelers could, should or would trade ILB Patrick Queen to the Cowboys to move up to 12th overall in the first round to select either OG Olaivavega Ioane or possibly even Lemon. We discuss what might need to happen in the first 11 picks of the 2026 NFL Draft before the Cowboys might consider trading out of the 12th over position and how conversations with the Steelers, and possibly even Queen, would likely need to happen before the first round gets underway. We also discuss why the Steelers might be open to trading Queen and why they also might not be interested in dealing him. Later in the show, Alex discusses his thoughts on the Steelers possibly trading down in the first round of the 2026 NFL Draft with the Buffalo Bills. April 8, 2026 - Season 16, Episode 117 of The Terrible Podcast is now in the can. In this Wednesday morning show, Alex Kozora and I get right into discussing the Pittsburgh Steelers starting phase one of their offseason program on Tuesday and how it seems like the team has strong attendance when it comes to their veteran players. We go over several players who we spotted in pictures on Tuesday. The Steelers continue to bring in pre-draft visitors this week and so Alex and I go over the six players that have visited Pittsburgh through Wednesday morning. That list of players includes WR Denzel Boston, DL Darrell Jackson Jr., LB Jaden Dugger, WR Skyler Bell, S Jakobe Thomas, and LB Jack Kelly. We also discuss how the team has yet to bring in more sure-fire first-round prospects as of Wednesday. On the heels of Peter Schrager of ESPN releasing his first mock draft of 2026 on Tuesday, Alex and I discuss his curious selection of EDGE T.J. Parker at 21st overall. We both explain how we don't see the Steelers selecting an edge rusher until at least day-three of the draft. Dane Brugler of The Athletic released his annual draft guide on Wednesday morning so Alex and I start clawing our way through that large publication. We go over players ranked in Brugler's top 30 that could potentially be the Steelers first-round selection this year. We also give more thought to Pittsburgh potentially drafting a tackle in the first round this year. Are the Baltimore Ravens destined to select OG Olaivavega Ioane with their first-round pick this year? Mon, 06 Apr 2026 - 3829 - The Terrible Podcast — Steelers' Offseason Schedule, Beck Checked Boxes, Cooper Jr. Report, Grading Free Agent Adds & More
April 7, 2026 - Season 16, Episode 116 of The Terrible Podcast is now in the can. In this Monday morning show, Alex Kozora and I get right into discussing the offseason schedule that the Pittsburgh Steelers released since our last show. We go over how it differs this year and how we are still awaiting the dates of the team's rookie minicamp. Tony Pauline recently had an update on former Indiana WR Omar Cooper Jr. as it relates to him potentially being the Steelers' first round selection this year, so we go over that little tidbit. Alex and I also look at two other wide receivers in this year’s draft class, Elijah Sarratt out of Indiana and Denzel Boston out of Washington, as it relates to them both checking a ton of boxes when it comes to what the Steelers look for from measurable and testing standpoints. Is former Miami QB Carson Beck a legitimate draft option for the Steelers this year? We address that question on the heels of something posted recently by Gerry Dulac of the Pittsburgh Post-Gazette. Alex and I also look at how many boxes that Beck checks on the old list of qualities that Bill Parcells used to adhere to. As part of those boxes checked conversation, Alex and I name several other quarterbacks that fit that list. Alex recently graded all the notable offseason free agent additions made by the Steelers up until this point, so we go over each of those and where we slightly differ with each player. Fri, 03 Apr 2026 - 3825 - The Terrible Podcast — Queen Agent Change, Cousins Contract, Ioane Sliding, Explosive Pass Plays Study & More
April 3, 2026 - Season 16, Episode 115 of The Terrible Podcast is now in the can. In this Friday morning show, Alex Kozora and I get right into discussing Pittsburgh Steelers ILB Patrick Queen recently changing agents and what that move may or may not mean overall. We also look ahead to the 2026 season when it comes to Queen and what we hope to see out of him in his third season in Pittsburgh. The Las Vegas Raiders have now signed free agent QB Kirk Cousins, so we discuss that news as well as the known contract numbers. As part of that Cousins contract discussion, Alex and I discuss what impact, if any, his new deal will have on a contract that QB Aaron Rodgers ultimately signs with the Steelers in the coming days or weeks. The Steelers have had a few of their own unrestricted free agents sign elsewhere since our last show, so we go over the who and the where as part of that conversation. We also review who we spotted from the Steelers at the Indiana pro day on Wednesday. Our own Ross McCorkle recently posted about the explosive passing plays the Steelers registered in 2025, so we go over the data he compiled and what it means. We also look ahead at the Steelers hoping to register more explosive passing plays in 2026 and how they might be challenged to achieve such a goal, and especially with Rodgers at quarterback once again. Is there a strong chance that former Penn State OG Olaivavega Ioane will ultimately fall to the Steelers in the first round of the 2026 NFL Draft? We attempt to answer that question by looking at team needs when it comes to the current draft order of the 20 selections ahead of Pittsburgh. Later in this show, Alex and I discuss the future of Pro Football Focus going forward and how their product has impacted data collection over the years. This 99-minute episode also discusses several other minor topics not noted in the above recap and we end this show by answering several emails we received from listeners. steelersdepot.com Learn more about your ad choices. Thu, 02 Apr 2026 - 3823 - The Depot Dive - Episode 96 - April 2, 2026
April 2 – Ep. 96: For today's episode, Joe Clark and Ross McCorkle discuss several topics from Mike McCarthy's media tour at the annual coaches meeting in Pheonix. Next, we talk about the latest developments in the backup QB market including Kirk Cousins signing with the Las Vegas Raiders. Does this increase the Steelers' chances of drafting a QB? We debate that question and more. We also look at Gerry Dulac's suggestion that a first-round tight end could be in play and what that means for the Steelers. We wrap up the show with a listener question about Mike McCarthy's absence from the Pro Day circuit. Thu, 02 Apr 2026 - 3821 - The Terrible Podcast — Mike McCarthy Media Sessions, WR Measurables Talk, QB Selection, Pre-Draft Visits, & More
April 1, 2026 - Season 16, Episode 114 of The Terrible Podcast is now in the can. In this Wednesday morning show, Alex Kozora and I get right into discussing the several things that Pittsburgh Steelers HC Mike McCarthy and team president Art Rooney II both said in recent interviews while the two were in Arizona for the NFL's annual league meetings. We first discuss whether Rooney II indeed now has a firm deadline for a decision by QB Aaron Rodgers. We also discuss what McCarthy has said recently about his conversations with Rodgers. McCarthy talked more about Steelers QB Will Howard the last few days, so we go over those quates. We also discuss McCarthy talking more about the kind of wide receiver he might be looking for in this year's draft. As part of that wide receiver discussion, Alex and I look back at some measurables from that position group that McCarthy has previously drafted while he was the head coach of the Green Bay Packers and Dallas Cowboys. We compare those measurable averages to several top wide receivers in this year's draft class. Will McCarthy, Khan, or both show up at the Indiana pro day on Wednesday? We discuss that question in addition to what McCarthy said recently about only attending one pro day so far even though he had planned to make six of them this offseason. After wrapping up all the things that McCarthy and Rooney have recently said, Alex and I discuss the probability of the Steelers selecting a quarterback in this year's draft. We look at what McCarthy seems to be looking for as far as quarterback measurables and how former Arkansas QB Taylen Green fits those. Green, by the way, is reportedly scheduled to come to Pittsburgh for a pre-drafty visit. The Steelers are also reportedly bringing in former Memphis OT Travis Burke for a pre-draft visit, so Alex and I discuss what we know about him and how he might be a day-three selection candidate for the team later this month. Alex recently spotted several key members from the Steelers at the Tennessee pro day so on the heels of those sightings, we discuss the two top cornerbacks from that school and the possibility of the Steelers selecting one of them in the first round later this month. Would the Steelers really consider selecting former Oregon TE Kenyon Sadiq in the first round of the 2026 NFL Draft? We address that question thanks to recent comments made in an online chat by Gerry Dulac of the Pittsburgh Post-Gazette. This 99-minute episode also discusses several other minor topics not noted in the above recap and we end this show by answering several emails we received from listeners. steelersdepot.com Learn more about your ad choices. Mon, 30 Mar 2026 - 3817 - The Terrible Podcast — Questions For McCarthy, Rodgers' Value, ESPN 7-Round Mock, Cooper Jr. & More
March 30, 2026 - Season 16, Episode 113 of The Terrible Podcast is now in the can. In this Monday morning show, Alex Kozora and I get right into discussing the start of the NFL league meetings in Arizona this week and how we're expected to hear from Pittsburgh Steelers HC Mike McCarthy a few times during the next two days. Alex and I come up with a few questions that we think McCarthy should be asked while he's in Arizona with most of those being focused on his pro day process these last several weeks. Steelers president Art Rooney II recently made some comments about a potential decision timeline for QB Aaron Rodgers, so we make sure to recap that topic. We also discuss what Steelers former QB Charlie Batch had to say about the contract value for Rodgers. Alex and I discuss where Rodgers should be slotted with his 2026 contract value should he ultimately re-sign with the Steelers. ESPN has a new mock draft out on Monday morning and it includes 12 selections for the Steelers. We discuss all of those picks and especially the first five and whether we like them. Former Indiana WR Omar Cooper Jr. seemingly remains a first-round draft prospect for the Steelers and because of that, Alex and I discuss some potential stats for him through his first four NFL seasons. We once again address whether Cooper is indeed worthy of a first-round selection, or if he might be in play for the Steelers in the second-round after trading up. Later in this show, Alex recaps his post on yards per route run when it comes to several wide receivers in the 2026 draft class. We also discuss how wide receivers should be graded and if weaknesses of each player should be highlighted. Much later in this show, Alex and I quickly recap what Minnesota Vikings HC Kevin O'Connell had to say about new Steelers OC Brian Angelichio on Monday morning as part of him being interviewed during the annual NFC coaches’ breakfast in Arizona. This 92-minute episode also discusses several other minor topics not noted in the above recap and we end this show by answering several emails we received from listeners. steelersdepot.com Learn more about your ad choices. Then we touch on a report about Kirk Cousins and how he nearly ended up in Pittsburgh ahead of the 2025 season. Fri, 27 Mar 2026 - 3812 - The Terrible Podcast — Steelers' Pro Day Process, WR Positional Draft Value, 2026 WR Class, Empty Routes & More
March 27, 2026 - Season 16, Episode 112 of The Terrible Podcast is now in the can. In this Friday morning show, Alex Kozora and I get right into discussing the recent pro days conducted by Ohio State and Alabama and how neither Pittsburgh Steelers GM Omar Khan nor HC Mike McCarthy were present for either of them. We also talk about how Khan and McCarthy have only really attended one pro day outside of Pittsburgh this offseason and how not very many positional coaches have been spotted on the road these last several weeks. Alex and I discuss how we will likely need to rely heavily on the pre-draft visits the Steelers conduct this offseason when it comes to figuring out several potential selections this year. We also wonder if the new Steelers pre-draft process might become the new normal moving forward. Moving forward from our discussions about the Steelers' pre-draft process this offseason, Alex and I have several conversations that are centered around the wide receiver position, both globally and related to the Steelers. We discuss positional value when it comes to first round wide receivers and specifically as it relates to drafts dating back to 2016. We go over the compact list of elite and exceptionally good wide receivers that were selected in the first-round dating back to 2016. We move forward to discuss this year's wide receiver draft class as it relates to the Steelers and which players might be worthy of a first round selection, and specifically at 21st overall. Is former Indiana WR Omar Cooper Jr. a bona fide first rounder? Does he exit college as a gamechanger at the wide receiver position? Alex and I discuss several key advanced analytics when it comes to this year's wide receiver draft class and that includes us going over yards per routes run, drops, and much more. Can the Steelers get the proper usage and production out of a first round wide receiver this year on the heels of the team trading for WR Michael Pittman Jr. this offseason? How much does the decision of QB Aaron Rodgers play into answering that question? We discuss those two questions during this show. Is guard the easiest position for the Steelers to address in the first round this year when it comes to value and rookie year production and playing time? We address that question in this show. Alex recently wrote about empty routes by wide receivers in Pittsburgh during the last several seasons, so we make sure to review that post along with his findings and takeaways. This 99-minute episode also discusses several other minor topics not noted in the above recap and we end this show by answering several emails we received from listeners. steelersdepot.com Learn more about your ad choices. Wed, 25 Mar 2026 - 3809 - The Terrible Podcast — Wednesday Pro Days, Savage Update, Rule Proposals, Kozora Mock Draft & More
March 25, 2026 - Season 16, Episode 111 of The Terrible Podcast is now in the can. In this Wednesday morning show, Alex Kozora and I get right into discussing the big pro days that are scheduled for Wednesday with Ohio State and Alabama being the most notable ones. We also discuss the lack of sightings of Pittsburgh Steelers GM Omar Khan and HC Mike McCarthy so far on the pro day circuit and if that is a big deal. As of Wednesday morning, it sounds like the Steelers will ultimately sign veteran free agent DB Darnell Savage Jr. soon, so we go over the latest concerning him and why he likely still isn't officially under contract with the team at this point. Ben Solak of ESPN has the Steelers ranked first in offseason roster improvement through the first two weeks of free agency, so we go over his reasons for listed for that opinion. Several rule and bylaw changes are being proposed this offseason, so Alex and I recap all of those based on Tuesday reporting on that topic. Former Steelers HC Mike Tomlin appears set to get into the NFL media side based on Tuesday news that he has new representation that is focused on such employment. We discuss what that might mean for him for the 2026 season. Alex dropped his latest Steelers mock draft on Wednesday morning, so we make sure to go over all 12 of his selections thoroughly later in this show. Mon, 23 Mar 2026 - 3806 - The Terrible Podcast — Two Steelers OL Signings, Another Visitor Scheduled, Homer Signing, McCorkle Mock & More
March 23, 2026 - Season 16, Episode 110 of The Terrible Podcast is now in the can. In this Monday morning show, Alex Kozora and I get right into discussing a few notable things that have transpired around the NFL since our last show. As part of that discussion, we talk about the huge contract extension that Seattle Seahawks WR Jaxon Smith-Njigba has now received. We also talk about the NFL players versus the USA team in flag football that occurred over the weekend. The Steelers reportedly re-signed backup OL Ryan McCollum over the weekend so we discuss that move in addition to the team reportedly finally signing free agent OL Brock Hoffman as well. While the team has yet to make the Hoffman signing official, we hope that will ultimately be the case this time. Alex and I discuss how McCollum and Hoffman potentially fit on the depth chart. Aaron Rodgers and Will Howard were together at a charity event over the weekend, so Alex and I address that news and what we take away from it. Alex and I recap how all of the Steelers’ offseason moves to date now gives the team a lot of flexibility when it comes to the 2026 NFL Draft and especially when it comes to the first four rounds. We talk about how the team is now likely done with expensive additions at this point in the offseason. The Steelers are reportedly scheduled to bring in former LSU LB Harold Perkins for a pre-draft visit at some point, so Alex and I discuss that Monday morning news during this show as well. Our own Ross McCorkle recently released his latest Steelers' mock draft, so Alex and I use some of this show to review the 12 selections he has listed in that. We go over our favorite mock selections from this effort and where the biggest pushback from fans is likely to be. Later in this show the news breaks that the Steelers are signing free agent RB Travis Homer, so Alex and I discuss that transaction and how he potentially fits with the 2026 team. We also talk about what the Homer signing might mean for Steelers RB Kaleb Johnson and specifically when it comes to him potentially be traded at some point during the offseason. Fri, 20 Mar 2026 - 3802 - The Terrible Podcast — Steelers Pre-Draft Visits, Pro Day Sightings, Trades Increasing, Salary Cap Update & More
March 20, 2026 - Season 16, Episode 109 of The Terrible Podcast is now in the can. In this Friday morning show, Alex Kozora and I get right into discussing why there are more trades around the NFL this offseason, and specifically, ahead of the draft, then ever before. The Steelers had a very noticeable presence at the North Dakota State pro day on Thursday to see QB Cole Payton go through his paces. We discuss the meaning of that, who went to see Payton, and the Steelers bringing in Payton for a pre-draft visit on Friday. Three other draft hopeful players are joining Payton in Pittsburgh for visits with the Steelers on Friday, so Alex and I discuss Washington CB Tacario Davis, Texas Tech ILB Jacob Rodriguez, and Georgia Tech G Keylan Rutledge. Alex and I also discuss Alabama WR Germie Bernard scheduled to come to town soon and Illinois DL James Thompson Jr. and Pittsburgh LB Kyle Louis both visiting with the team on Thursday. With the annual Michigan pro day scheduled to take place on Friday, Alex and I wonder if Steelers HC Mike McCarthy and GM Omar Khan will be attending it and especially with four pre-draft visitors being in Pittsburgh to meet with the team. Later in this Friday show, we go over the most recent 2026 salary cap update that I posted on Thursday for the Steelers.
