In this episode, I reflect on the story of Jeroboam, the fourth King of Israel. Jeroboam was a product of grace, very much like a lot of us. The kingdom was torn away from the hands of David's house and given to him, a mere servant but what he did with it was less than admirable. Thisa story is found in 1 Kings 11, 12, 14. God desires only one thing from us: obedience. And it does not come with nothing. It comes with all the blessings we could ever want. We look at the book of Luke 12:35-48. Christ tells of the parable of servants who have been left to take care of a household in the absence of their master. Christ contrasts faithful servants who keep watch, waiting for their master to return, whatever hour it is, and a reckless Steward who upon seeing that their master has delayed coming, starts to treat male and female servants with contempt. Jesus says in Revelation 22:12-14, that he is coming quickly, and his reward is with him to give to those who have overcome. It has been 2000 years since Christ first came in the flesh. In this episode, we turn to the prayer of Hezekiah in 2 Kings 18:2-3. Hezekiah became sick and prophet Isaiah was sent to him to let him know that he would not recover from his illness. In his prayer, he asks God to remember how he has walked before Him and how he has served Him. Hezekiah had a recordofg works. James 2:17 says that faith without works is lifeless and has no purpose. Our faith goes in tandem with our works. And Paul tells the church in Corinth that their works shall be tested by fire and only what isnl built on the foundation of Christ will endure (1 Corinthians 3:13). Malachi 3:16 talks about the book of remembrance. What deeds of yours do you want to be written there?

In this episode, I talk about how God judges the inward intentions of the heart and how He is able to see the most hidden parts of our hearts, way before they are even revealed to us. I draw upon the experiences of David, Joseph, Rehab, Hazael, Daniel, Esau and Jacob. The main text comes from the book of Psalms 139:1 -17, where King David writes of how God looks into the innermost parts of the heart to reveal intentions. In this long episode, I give an expensive context to the history of salvation, why it has to happen and how it happened. Then I introduce Jesus and why His ministry was popular with the everyday people but which vexed the rulers and the Pharisees so much. I then finalize with the story of the disciples why they believed in Jesus at first. I attempt to get into the minds of the disciples and try to uncover their motivation before the death and resurrection of Jesus and how their zeal and hearts changed after the ascension. The bible talks, in several passages about the refiner's fire. At the end of time when we shall be called forth from the grave to receive the rewards that has been kept for us, what shall your reward be? Christ says in the parable of the talents that everyone shall receive the rewards according to the works that they did here on earth. Have you ever wondered whether the works you are doing will go with you beyond the grave? Are your works gold, silver, bronze, wood, straw, or hay? Christ says that we should work to store our treasures in heaven where no rush or moth can eat them. This episode is based on Exodus 7-11. God had send Moses and Aaron to the house of Pharaoh to ask him to let the children of Israel go. With His mighty power, God would have easily killed the first borns the first time Pharaoh resisted and saved the Egyptians the agony of the 8 plagues. But this story demonstrates God's patience even with sinners. Pharaoh was given 9 chances to repent but with each forgiveness, he only hardened his heart and grew obstinate. There's a lot of lessons to draw from this story. Paul says that we need to watch how we stand, lest we harbor unbelief in our hearts and miss heaven. Thank you for listening and may God bless you. In this episode, I go back to the book of 1 Kings 17, to talk about the faith of Elijah. Elijah declared a three year drought in Israel, as a punishment for the blatant idolatry that was practiced by the people. In the final duel between the prophets of Baal and Elijah, God is glorified by fire coming down to burn up the sacrifice that was presented by Elijah. Elijah then prays for rain and rain falls. But in chapter 18, when Jezebel threatened the life of Elijah, he chose to run away into the wilderness instead of praying to God and waiting for His word. God asks Elijah one important question that He asks each of us, "What are you doing here?" Look around you, where you are living, the things you re doing and ask yourself, "What am I doing here?" Have you ever wondered where sin came from? How did it happen that Lucifer started feeling pride, where pride never existed before? How did he come to convince a third of a billion billion angels to follow him in his rebellion. I have sometimes struggled to understand how God operates. But is it really possible to fully understand God? No it is not. In Isaiah 55:8-11, He says his ways are higher than our ways and his thoughts higher than our thoughts. We can't understand why God allowed Lucifer to live on. We don't understand why God would let children be killed and not intervene, we don't even understand when God says in His commandments not to do certain things. Instead of trying to understand first before we obey or acknowledge his works, we should instead have faith in his supreme authority. It's called unwavering faith. Be blessed.

In this episode, I study the story of Nehemiah in the book of Nehemiah 4. Nehemiah returned to Jerusalem with the third wave of returnees, decades after the temple was built. The walls had not been rebuilt, and the gates lay in ruins. God stirred up the heart of Nehemiah to lead the work of rebuilding the walls, and something that had taken years to do, only took 52 days. We need to fortify ourselves from the enemy's attacks and for this, we need to rebuild our walls and mend the parts which are broken. Assess your spiritual walls to see if they are broken down, or whether they are nonexistent and needs to be rebuilt from scratch. God wanted to do two things, he wanted to show Nebuchadnezzar who was the true God and true King of the universe, and second, He wanted to pass a message to humanity about the things to come. In this episode, I talk about Dianiel in exile in Babylonia. Daniel showed such steadfastness and faith in God that was unparalleled at the time. He was of noble blood and Judah was taken into captivity because of their iniquity. But Daniel, even in a foreign land, refused to conform. King Asa started so well. He trusted in the deliverance of God. He pulled down the altars for idol worship. He rallied the people of Judah to trust in the Lord and during his time, Judah enjoyed peace for a period of 35 years. Until materialism got the better of Asa and he shifted his trust to material possessions, earthly kings and physicians. Asa died a man who did not acknowledge God. In this sequel of the first episode, we talk about the dangers of being unequally yoked with unbelievers, from Jehoshaphat the son of Asa. Jehoshaphat almost got killed in a battle he had no business being in, with a friend called Ahab whom he had no business being in alliances with. Had it not been for God, he would have died a shameful death. When Balak thr king of the Moabites perceived the threat of the hoarde of the Israelites advancing into the land of Canaan from Egypt, he was shaken and sought the services of Balaam. Balaam was a prophet of God who was given to covetousness and greed and the spirit of God had left him. We have many Balaams today who pretend to be in communion with God and yet who are after worldly gain. The Shakahola Massacre that happened in Kenya has so far claimed over 100 people according to official reports. Unofficial reports say that over 300 people have been exhumed, buried in mass graves. This is nothing new but the frequency of such news is on the rise. Mass shootings, deaths, accidents, gender issues, violence, sexual immorality and idolatry are rife. The world is toteering on the brink of lawlessness and wickedness. There is a dark spirit of strong delusion hovering over nations which we need to be conscious of. Jesus predicted this would happen in Matt 24:24. Isaiah 8:20 is the only test to discern truth from error. To the law and to the testimony, if they do not speak according to these words, it is because there is no light in them. May we be prayerful and watch. There is God's mercy demonstrated in a particular episode in the wars between Israel and Philistia. Saul was facing the Philistia in battle, with a demoralized army and mass desertations. Only him and his son Jonathan had swords out of all the army of Israel. Samuel had come to Gibeah and found that Saul had offered an unlawful sacrifice. After pronouncing judgement on Saul, Samuel left, leaving Saul with an army of 600 men facing Philistia. On this day, the Lord used the faith of Jonathan to defeat Philistia using only one sword. It is hard to imagine all the ways through which the Lord can help us. This story teaches us one thing: Let God Have His Way with you. He knows how to rescue you from the pit in his own way. What is enough for you? Are you feeling contented with what you have so far? There's always a thin line between ambition and idolatry. Idolatry is sin, but building wealth for your benefit and the benefit of your friends, those in need and the Kingdom is a blessing and good stewardship. Are you blessed or you are laboring to store wealth which will never help you you? Jesus says that it profits nothing to gain the whole world and then lose our soul in the process. The forces of evil are assembling, and whereas before they were confined to the streets and outside of our walls, today agents of Satan have access to us, to influence and to corrupt us and our families through our phones, radios and televisions. The Devil has too much of our attention and he is using it to push subliminal messages to us about all manner of wickedness. We therefore need to pray like never before. If you have a family, friends, relatives and siblings, then you need to go before the Lord in prayer and really intercede for your people. The times in which we live in are not normal and we face some very serious opposition. I pray for you too that you may stand, and really stand. David, the Lord's servant in Psalms 11, asked himself, if the foundations be destroyed, what are the righteous to do? When the foundation of marriage, of sex, of parenting, of brotherly love be destroyed, what can you and me do? First, we need to realize that God still sits on the throne and He still monitors the hearts of men. Paul says in the book of Ephesians 5:16, that we should redeem the times because the days in which we live in are not ordinary. We are inching closer to midnight and there's a difference between midnight and noon. At noon, you can see clearly and things are easier. But towards midnight, you need light to see. Let us hold on to the light that is Christ. And do not be afraid of the devil, because the Lord promises in Psalms 23 that He is the good shepherd. Ever heard that God works in mysterious ways? Yes, He does. He says in Isaiah that as high as the heavens are, so are his ways. Look back at your life and count those events which seemed uneventful at the time, but which turned out to be stepping stones for blessings later. Meeting your spouse, meeting strangers who turned into friends or colleagues or business partners, meeting kind strangers who helped you out in ways family could not. In this episode, the first one of season three, I talk about love and what it means to really love one another. The world is yearning for love, and not the kind of love that is sang in music videos. Do you have an unshakable faith in God? In the book of Numbers 14: 11-33, the Bible records the story of the children of Israel, refusing to cross into Canaan and the ensuing displeasure of God at their lack of faith. This was the tenth time that they had doubted God and God had had it with this generation. Similarly, in life, God has always got our back in some of the toughest situations, but for some of us, with each passing trial, we tend to yell and kick and pout and cry out to God just as the Israelites did. Take God at His word this year and hear when He says to Joshua, "Be still and know that I am God." Have a blessed year.

What race are you running? Are you running towards the cross or away from Christ? Have you ever sat down to reflect your walk with God? Can you look back and trace the graph of your walk with God? How is it? Are you feeling overtaken by the world and the cares of this world, enough to steal away your time with God? You carry the name of God, and that name is powerful. Keep your focus on Christ, dear believer. Stop listening to the nice voice of the world calling you to get off your race. I hope you run the race with certainty, and punch with purpose. In 1 Kings 17, God sends the prophet Elijah to a widow in Zarephath. Israel was in the midst of a 3-year drought that caused a massive famine and inflation. A donkey's head, which had never been a delicacy, was a preserve for the tables of nobles. It was bad. For her faith, the Widow of Zarephath obtained sustenance until rains came. In these tough times, our only hope is in the providence from God. Christ said that the same God who feeds the birds who sowest not, is the same God who values us above animals, to provide for our needs. Be encouraged. God is good all the time is a true statement. And Stacy is a testament of the Lord's goodness that He comes through for us in some of the most amazing of ways, which are often beyond our comprehension. Listen in to her story and be encouraged. The love of God is greater than, the sun or moon can ever tell.

Where can we find happiness? Many have began on a quest to find truth, joy, happiness, fulfillment and peace. Is it found in possessions, or the abundance of friends, or in good food, or in traveling to exotic destinations? Ours is the most depressed generation. Many people are so stressed despite having many accomplishments in life. In this episode, I discuss the source of true happiness and joy and I go back to the Bible where the source of our joy and fulfillment is in Christ. In Genesis 41:38-39, Pharaoh said, “Can we find a man such as this one, in whom the Spirit of God abides? " What was the spirit that was in Joseph that guided him all his life? Joseph lived a life of obedience of God's commandments, way before they were pronounced on Mt. Sinai. For the way Joseph and Daniel stood for God, they were exalted beyond human imagination, being prime ministers of great kingdoms in foreign lands. Have you ever thought that, "What if I also decided to walk humbly before God, to seek Him diligently and to walk in his ways? What would change in your life? Think about it and may you life be like that of Joseph and God's guidance be upon you. In this episode, I talk about the importance of tuning into the right frequency as a Christian. The world is full of opinions, ideas, concepts and everything else, much which is noise. You have to really sieve what you consume in order to keep your gaze at the cross. Whom you listen to is very important. Pray for discernment to know the still small voice of God from the din and chaos of the world. Be blessed and stay grounded in what you have first believed in.

In 2 Chronicles 20:12-17, Jehosaphat found himself sorrounded by enemies of Judah. Ammon, Moab and Mount Seir had sorrounded them from all sides. Jehohasaphat was fearful and he took the matter to the Lord. God promised Jehohasaphat not to worry, because Judah would not have to fight the battle. Similarly, whenever we're facing challenges in our lives, it is good to have God in our corner. A total faith that trusts that whatever happens, the Lord will fight for us. May your trust in God never wane and may He always fight your battles for you. In this episode I reflect on the happenings around the world. The planet is in turmoil and every where there are tales of suffering, inflation, corruption and death while the rich continue to amass wealth and live lavishly. Outside of what the media predicts, we as believers and Bible students ought to know that these are the signs of the end of times. We need to redouble prayer and revival as we await the coming of the Lord, that that Day might not find us slumbering. The Lord is at the door and while the rest of the world is asleep, we who are the children of the day, ought to open our eyes. I pray that the Holy Spirit may continue to convinct you of sin and that you may spend your time at the feet of Jesus. Escaping from his uncle Laban, Jacob encounters a stranger on a night full of anxiety and inner anguish. He had sent his household ahead and he was only a short distance away from meeting his brother Esau. On that night he encountered Christ and his past sins were forgiven. His name was changed from supplanter to blessed and the blessing which he had obtained through treachery was given to him by the Almighty, after he had submitted to God and surrendered himself fully. The same could be your story. Your night of wrestling could be on its way. Be open to God. This is David's Psalms exclaiming the goodness of the Lord. This psalm could have resulted from the tough times David endured in exile when all the "friends" he had trusted in, betrayed him to King Saul. David however continued to hope and depend on the Lord for his strength. And the chapter challenges us today to continue depending on the Lord for our strength and for all goodness. May the Lord always deliver you from adversity for His name's sake. There's so many reasons why you can't miss heaven, one of which is that Christ has already prepared a place for you. He's only waiting for His guests. In this episode I talk about the nature of the blessing that Jacob received. It was not a blessing to receive material inheritance, but to inherit a new home, the promised land of Heaven. The lesson here is that God has called us to be His children, not so that we can become wealthy materially, but so that we can be reconciled to Him. Thank you for joining me. This week we read from Deut 8:10-19. God foresaw the land which the Israelites were about to inherit and knowing the heart of man, warned them about the possibility of wealth turning their hearts away from Him. Could it be that you and I could fall into the same trap of wealth? Where you're treasure is, there also will your heart be. As you gain worldly material, may your heart not be diverted from the Lord.

God's people in these last days are instructed to stand apart and be separate from the world. The last call from the three angels of Revelation 14 and 18 is to come out of Babylon so as not to share in her punishment. Look inward into your personal journey, are there associations with the world that keep ensaring you back into your former sinful life? It is time to be separate. Christ is even at the door. Are you a creationist or an evolutionist? Did the universe begin by a big bang or was the power and creativity of the Godhead involved in an intricate working of design and life giving breath? In 1844, two opposing voices went out. The first angel in Revelation 14 went out proclaiming thus, "Fear God and give glory to Him, for the hour of His judgment has come; and worship Him who made heaven and earth, the sea and the springs of water." The second call was of Charles Darwin in his first essay, The Origin of Species, 1844. And these opposing gospels have always stood against each other. Daniel 12:3 tells us that those who lead many to righteousness shall shine like the stars. Christ has promised us crowns of victors. How will your crown look like? How long till Christ comes? We have sang about His coming for years. All the signs Jesus mentioned in Mathew 24 are here with us in this present generation. Could the world realistically last another 200 years in its present condition? We are living in extra time, which means that Christ is even at the door. Wake up from slumber and light up your lamp as we wait for the bridegroom. Be encouraged, the wait is almost over. Amen.

In this episode I reflect on my walk of sanctification and on the things I have done wrong which made me walk the paths that I took. Paul's says in Romans, "But put on the Lord Jesus Christ, and make no provision for the flesh, to fulfill its lusts." Romans 13:14.
