    “Mirror Mirror on the Wall" is one of the first plays produced for the 1940s radio series , "Quiet,Please" -; a series known for its innovative storytelling and captivating narratives. Created and written by Wyllis Cooper, who had previously gained recognition for his work on the popular radio show "Lights Out," "Quiet, Please" premiered on June 8, 1947, on the Mutual Broadcasting System. One of the defining features of "Quiet, Please" was its emphasis on psychological horror and thought-provoking narratives. Unlike many other radio dramas of the time, which relied heavily on dialogue and action, Cooper's writing for "Quiet, Please" often delved into the inner thoughts and emotions of the characters, creating a sense of unease and tension that resonated with listeners. At the heart of the story is the character of young Charlie Newton who becomes increasingly suspicious of her charming uncle. With the help of Sally Benson, and Alma Reville who adapted the radio play to screen, Alfred Hitchcock directed the film version which was released in 1943 starring Joseph Cotton and Teresa Wright.
