Hi TYP’ers. I’m super busy this week so just for today, we’re revisiting a great chat I had with one of Australia’s most loveable chefs, winner of Australia’s favourite TV cooking competition (MasterChef), Julie Goodwin. Enjoy.

Thu, 02 May 2024 - 1513 - #1510 How to 'Science' Your Life (Even if You're Not Sciencey) - Harps
In this very practical and simple chat, I walk you through the idea and practice of introducing some simple scientific thinking and method into your day-to-day life, in order to produce better efficiency, productivity and outcomes on Planet You. And yes, it's aimed at a non-scientific audience. Enjoy.

Wed, 01 May 2024 - 1512 - #1509 Mansplaining - Francis Leach
This was an interesting and important chat with one of my mates and along the way we hit on a few current, topical and occasionally, divisive topics. Among other things, Francis and I spoke about 'mansplaining' (as per the title), the concept of 'enough' (when and what is it?), the burden of ambition, preparing for life after work, different kinds of 'wealth', outcomes and contentment, the lack of awareness and understanding men (often) have around women, social awareness, empathy and lots more. Enjoy.

Tue, 30 Apr 2024 - 1511 - #1508 Improvise, Adapt, Overcome - Harps & Tiff
'Improvise, adapt, overcome' is a term that's been linked to the US Marine Corps and also, it's a line from one of my favourite (old) movies; Heartbreak Ridge with Clint Eastwood, playing Marine Gunnery Sergeant, Tom Highway. Well, on Planet Me, there's been a little improvising, adapting and overcoming going on of late and in this edition of TYP, Tiff and I talk about recent trials and tribulations, the challenge of being objective, being authentic in front of a large audience and plenty more. Enjoy.

Sun, 28 Apr 2024 - 1509 - #1506 Are You Wasting Your Life? - Harps
As I type this (April 27, 2024), I've been alive for 22,127 days and if I'm 'statistically typical', I have about 8,000 days left. And once again, if I'm statistically typical, a lot of those days will be sh*t, due to poor health. Obviously, my goal is to be atypical and to enjoy a long health-span but then, none of us know with certainty what the future holds. I believe this episode is one of the most important and powerful instalments of TYP I have ever recorded; not because of me or my skill as a thinker or speaker, but because of the content. Because of the important ideas, strategies, questions and information that get unpacked. After countless conversations over four-plus decades as a Coach, Educator, Scientist and Professional Speaker, it's my belief that many of us are living unnecessarily unfulfilling, unrewarding, unproductive and unhappy lives. I hope you enjoy this.

Sat, 27 Apr 2024 - 1508 - #1505 Starfishing on the Bed - Carly Taylor
The title is in no way indicative of the majority of the conversation but Carly used the term in our chat and it made me laugh. Apparently, it's what she does when her husband (Paul) is away. And in more serious news... Carly and I chat about dealing with their son’s rare medical condition, raising an entrepreneurial daughter who started a proper business at 14 (and is now 18), the concept of can't vs. won't, good old-fashioned hard work, finding the ‘right medicine' (diet, psychotherapy, exercise program, lifestyle) for you, stoicism in the home, preparing for the inevitable sh*t-storm (it comes for us all), re-training in your 60's and the inspirational woman who just finished her nursing degree (and started nursing) at 70! Enjoy.

Fri, 26 Apr 2024 - 1507 - #1504 How To Survive A Psychopath - David Gillespie
Did you know that, while psychopaths can understand the theory of empathy (that's a weird term isn't it?) and the social currency of being 'seen' as a kind and caring person, they don't actually have the capacity to experience empathy for others. That is, they can have the intellectual understanding (of it) but not the emotional experience (of it). Accordingly, they will often use their intellectual insight to 'role play’ (fake) empathy, all-the-while orchestrating some kind of social, emotional and psychological manipulation for their own benefit. Not scary at all! As David and I take a leisurely stroll down 'Psychopath Lane', we talk about gaslighting (and the origin of the term), the most-read book in the US prison system, a thing called consensus effect, the tell-tale signs of psychopathy and he offers five strategies for surviving personal and professional interactions with your garden-variety psychopath. Enjoy.

Thu, 25 Apr 2024 - 1506 - #1503 Waiting For The 'Right Time' - Harps & Tiff
Let’s be honest, some of us have been waiting for the mystical, magical, mysterious ‘right time’ to change our lives (situation, circumstance, lifestyle, career, habits, health, outcomes) for decades. Wanting to change our reality for the better, while simultaneously doing stupid sh*t that actually makes our situation worse. Wasting time, talent, energy and opportunities in the ultimate act of self-sabotage and self-destruction. Maybe it’s time to stop?

Tue, 23 Apr 2024 - 1504 - #1501 Why Self-Help Doesn't Work - Harps
There's 'self-help' the product (book, program, course) and then there's 'self-help' the process; literally helping yourself by making brave choices, doing hard things, asking great questions, owning up to your BS, being resilient, getting back up when most would give up, being consistent with your effort and completely committing to the practical process of changing yourself and your life for the better, no matter how uncomfortable, uncertain, unfamiliar or inconvenient that journey may be.

Mon, 22 Apr 2024 - 1503 - #1500 Their Gym Burned Down - Brad & Carly Cunningham
Brad and Carly Cunningham are friends and regulars on TYP. They own an amazing business called 'The Fit Shop' and 6 days ago (as I type), their beautiful facility burned to ground, leaving them, their staff and their members 'homeless'. As I always say, bad things happen to good people and life gives no f**ks about you, your feelings or (in Brad and Carly's case) your business, financial security or the three young kids you have to feed. I think it's important to have conversations with people when things aren't going great. When stress, anxiety, uncertainty and fear abound. Why? Because it's real. It's where we spend much of our lives; in the mayhem, madness, unfairness and complexity. Despite their sh*t week, they have an incredible outlook and I think you'll enjoy this chat.

Thu, 18 Apr 2024 - 1499 - #1496 Seek First To Understand (Then To Be Understood) - Harps
A hundred years ago (feels like) I read Stephen Covey's 'The Seven Habits of Highly Effective People.' Habit 5 is the title of this episode and over the years this directive (to understand others) has proven to be one of the most powerful, relevant and helpful ideas across a broad range of situations, contexts and roles (for me). Not only has it been invaluable in my capacity as a Coach, Professional Speaker, Exercise Scientist, Business Owner, Author, and Podcaster, but also, it is the cornerstone of my PhD research; understanding ‘The You Experience' (for others). Keep in mind that 'to understand' does not mean to agree, align or condone; no, it just means to have (some) insight into the thoughts, feelings, drivers and actions of others. Enjoy.

We also chat about the social status symbol that is ‘the busy badge’, owning up to being part of the problem, the stories we tell ourselves and the impact those stories have on our health, healing outside of the traditional medical model, feeling guilty about resting or having a day off, moving the metaphoric goal posts, the epidemic of discontent and lots more.

Mon, 15 Apr 2024 - 1496 - #1493 When Is Enough, Enough? - Harps
This episode is essentially me sharing something that l have written over the last few days about gratitude, contentment, and the idea of 'enough’. When I started writing it, I had no intention of turning it into a TYP episode but as it grew, it became apparent that it was way too hefty (can words be hefty?) to be shared in written form on any of my platforms. So here it is in audio form; somewhat scripted, somewhat freestyle, and hopefully of interest and value. Enjoy.

This heartbreaking reality confronts the families of over 200,000 Australians battling Parkinson's disease. In Australia, someone is diagnosed with Parkinson's every 27 minutes. In this tables-turned version, she definitely seized her moment to ask some hard questions, push a few buttons and knock on a few personal doors that I haven't really opened on a podcast. Mon, 08 Apr 2024 - 1489 - #1486 Mental Health First Aid - Mares Van Lambaart
Mares Van Lambaart is back talking all-things mental health and it's fair to say that we covered lots of territory. 'Most people are familiar with the idea of physical first aid courses that teach the skills and knowledge required to recognise and respond to life-threatening emergencies and provide a first aid response across a range of different situations. Mental Health First Aid training adopts a similar approach. Using a practical, skills-based action plan, participants learn the skills to recognise and respond to someone experiencing a mental health problem or mental health crisis, until professional help is received or the crisis resolves. Individuals who complete Mental Health First Aid training are known as MHFAiders. Equipped with the skills to listen, connect, and offer support when it matters most, MHFAiders play a vital role in reducing stigma and promoting pathways to support for those experiencing mental health problems in our workplaces, communities, schools, and tertiary institutions.'

Thu, 04 Apr 2024 - 1485 - #1482 The Diabetes Epidemic - Professor Peter Brukner
Today's chat is with one of my friends and colleagues, Professor Peter Brukner and the following paragraph (which summarises our conversation) is from a recent article in 'The Australian' newspaper by journalist Natasha Robinson.. “The diet wars have been raging in Australia for decades. Experts are pitted against one another in acrimonious battles over what the evidence really says on low carb, meat, saturated fat, plant-based foods, and myriad other points of dietary contention. But now, consensus has emerged on one thing: low-carb is an effective approach to maximise metabolic health. And with the majority of Australians metabolically unhealthy, is it an approach that everyone should follow? In a highly significant move, the nation's peak body for diabetes, Diabetes Australia, has entered a partnership with prominent low-carb diet proponent Dr Peter Bruner to promote his low-carb program to its members via Brukner's charity Defeat Diabetes. We humans hate being wrong. And we love being right. Especially when our thought, idea and/or belief is intertwined with our identity; our sense of self. In this scenario, when you attack my belief or ideology, you attack me and the platform from where I see, experience and understand the world. Being wrong, especially about something we've thought or believed for decades, is f**king terrifying for us, so we (can) shut ourselves down to any message or belief that doesn't endorse, support or align with, our own. Wed, 20 Mar 2024 - 1473 - #1470 Therapy By Another Name - Dr. Lillian Nejad
Some people do well with traditional meditation. I don't. I love it as an idea (and have recommended it) but for me, I find working out, nature and music to be much more calming, aligning and meditative. For some people it's a very effective tool in the old mind-management toolkit but not for me. Some people get great results by sitting down with a professional and talking about their problems but I don't. I like to work through things myself. I don't pretend there's not an issue or problem but for me, talking about the problem is (typically) not helpful. And it's not that I'm against meditation or therapy (of course), it's just different things work for different people. Not good or bad, right or wrong, just different. Is it a good idea to try to 'impress someone’ or can it lead to the opposite of what you were trying to create; disconnection not connection, less respect not more, a negative experience, not a positive one? To what extent can we 'be ourselves' in front of people, while still finding a way to connect with different personalities, expectations, communication styles, social groups and cultures? What causes me to 'feel a certain way' (good or bad) when you say a particular thing; is it the actual words or is it my interpretation of (and response to) those words? Is the experience of 'being offended' a personal reaction (created by me, for example) or is it the unavoidable outcome of your 'offensive words'? All this and more gets explored in this TYP chin-wag. Enjoy.

This time we talk about good and bad therapy, why 'talking about it' doesn't work for everyone, the idea of a 'self-audit' (what's my life telling me?), our capacity to change the way we think, our evolutionary need to be part of a group, the 'people-pleaser' virus, our ability and willingness to 'unlearn' and lots more. Enjoy.

Thu, 14 Mar 2024 - 1467 - #1464 Is Your Thinking A Problem? - Harps
Sometimes our thoughts empower us to bigger and better; to growth, to learning, to positive action and of course, to success. And sometimes they are a psychological and emotional prison, keeping us trapped in frustration, stagnation, under-achievement, analysis paralysis and anxiety. This is a conversation about all that, with a few thoughts and ideas for you problematic thinkers. Enjoy.

Wed, 13 Mar 2024 - 1466 - #1463 Who Makes a Great Coach? (PT2) - Lisa Alexander
Lisa Alexander is one of the most winning coaches in the history of Australian sport, having coached the Australia Netball Team (The Diamonds) to 83 wins from 102 test matches, giving her a rare (for professional sport) 81% winning record and making her the most capped Australian coach of all time. In this episode, Lisa and I talk about what makes a great coach and why. And no, we're not just talking about sporting coaches but rather, anyone in any leadership, teaching or coaching role in any field. It seems that certain skills, attributes and qualities are relevant and transferable across industries, environments and contexts.
Enjoy.

Mon, 11 Mar 2024 - 1464 - #1461 Future You - Harps
In what ways do you want future you to be better than current you? Choices? Actions? Results? Habits? Lifestyle? Mental health? Physical health? Diet? Financial health? Career? Relationships? What’s required for that theoretical future (the idea in your head) to become an actual reality? A lived experience? What’s your plan, process, timeline and most importantly, how committed are you to doing the work? Everyone loves the idea of ’better’ but very few will fully commit to the often-uncomfortable transformational journey. Is it time for you to step out of the theory?

Sun, 10 Mar 2024 - 1463 - #1460 Escaping The Matrix - Michelle Lee
For Michelle Lee, being the first woman in the world to row the Pacific Ocean solo, unassisted and without stopping, was her version of escaping the matrix. 15,000 kilometres, Mexico to Australia, 240 days, rowing for 12 hours a day, converting sea water into drinking water, technical challenges, physical and medical challenges, crazy weather, losing 19kgs, total isolation, eight months of mostly dehydrated food (6 meals a day and still couldn't keep up with her energy needs) and a whole new world of self-discovery. This was an awesome conversation.

Sat, 09 Mar 2024 - 1462 - #1459 Cyber-Thieves - Patrick Bonello
Also known as scammers, schemers and hackers... cyber-thieves (as I call them) are scum (as I also call them) who want to rip off your mum, your grandma, your kids and of course, you. TYP's very own Tiff got hacked this week and so we fired a few timely questions at our resident geek and spoke about a few personal security strategies. We also covered how Al is now conducting job interviews, Patrick's mate who claimed his porn expenses as a tax deduction (wait till you hear the rationale), people opening tech-free cafes (zero phones or devices allowed), customers complaining about the lack of buttons, knobs and dials in modern cars, why electric cars might not be the environmental hero after all, what NASA and Google are doing to save tigers (there's only 4,500 left) and lots more. Enjoy.

Facilitating more than forty thousand personal training sessions (my team completed over a million more) and working at the coal-face of fitness, exercise-programming, professional sport, and elite conditioning for decades, has given me a pretty good understanding of how to get the best bang for your buck when it comes to optimising your time, energy, resources and genetics, in relation to your exercise goals and needs.

Wed, 06 Mar 2024 - 1459 - #1456 Special & Common (PT2) - Harps & Tiff
This casual chat with Tiff turned out to be quite personally revealing for both of us, given some of the private revelations on such a public platform. We both spoke about our individual predisposition(s) to be somewhat obsessive, addictive and periodically irrational (over the years). We also talked about some of the more curious things we've each done (and hidden from people), the idea of hitting the pause button on our day-to-day life for a period of time (a month or more), the ego of thinking that we're unique and special when we're literally one of eight billion, giving our parents a 'break', how I got totally addicted to training as a kid (I was crazy), a thing called anorexia athletica, why music is therapy for me and lots more. Enjoy.

Sometimes people ask for my advice and when I give it to them, they get their metaphoric nose out of joint because they don't actually want my advice; they want my endorsement. My approval. They want me to make them feel good about the thing they've already done or the thing they're going to do. Yep, giving advice can be a psychological, sociological, and emotional minefield and in this freestyle solo episode, I share my thoughts about the 'if, when, how, why and why not' of giving advice. David Gillespie is a polymath. That is, he knows a lot about a lot. He has a voracious appetite for learning and a few years ago, when all of his six kids(!) were in school, he did a deep dive into the educational system in Australia, in an effort to gainer a clearer understanding of how it all worked, or in some instances, didn't work. Among other things, one of the outcomes of his investigation is the amazing charity he set up (with the help of many incredible teachers); freeschool.org.au. It is a totally free resource created to help Australian students and it's built around the current curriculum (2024), for students undertaking years 7 to 12. This chat went far and wide and was a little longer than usual (for David). Enjoy.

Half a lifetime ago (for him), Tommy Jackett stumbled into my reality as a peculiarly curious, enthusiastic and passionate kid wanting to hang out with, and learn from, yours truly. Kind of weird for a teenager to be obsessed with personal development and my unique style of.. er.. teaching but nonetheless, he was. We’ve been connected ever since and now at the geriatric age of 35, he’s a dad of two, husband of one, successful businessman, gifted creative and not unlike me, something of a man-child. This was a nice chat talking about our individual and connected journeys since we met and some of the interesting lessons and insights to come from those experiences. Enjoy.

Yes, I realise how horrible the grammar is in that title; I don't care. Surprising, I know. Shannah Kennedy and Collen Callander have just released a new book called ‘Elevate: Unlock Your Extraordinary Potential’ and apart from the great discussion we had about their book, work and philosophy, what I loved about these ladies is that, at a time when some people are starting to slow down and wind down (in their fifties), these two powerhouses are building new businesses products and programs, breathing life into new ideas and creations, learning new things, writing new books, falling down, getting up, taking chances and inspiring others (of all ages) to do the same. Mon, 26 Feb 2024 - 1450 - #1447 The Hijacking of Your Mind - Harps
The hijacking of our minds is a silent epidemic. In the digital age, the concept of mind hijacking has transcended the boundaries of science fiction, becoming a palpable reality that affects billions of individuals around the globe. This phenomenon isn't always orchestrated by malevolent forces in a dark room but it is a consequence of the intricate interplay between technology, psychology, and the insatiable appetite of the modern economy for our attention, our data and of course, our money. Someone or something is always trying to 'sell you'; it could be a product, a program, a philosophy, a religion, a story or an image, but they can't sell you anything if you're not paying attention, so their priority is to get your attention at all costs. Their mission is to make you look. And keep looking. Or listening. To make you stay. To get you engaged. No matter what. To make you believe you need whatever it is they're selling. To hijack your mind.

If NOVA (our podcast partner) call first thing Monday morning, I definitely won't be answering that. I personally found it funny but then I have issues, so listener discretion is advised. If you're easily offended, see you next time. Apart from handjobs and Patrick’s rough hands (you were warned), we spoke about tech illiteracy (me), sending dead you (well, your ashes) to the moon, why sharing a bed with your pooch can increase your lifespan, the USB stick that self-destructs when you need it to (actual spy stuff), the impact of short videos on kids, having your brain hijacked and whether working from home is good or bad for your health. Bless her maternal little socks. Motorbikes give her anxiety and me, joy. Stimulus, response. Mary, Craig. Other than the potential psychological consequences of motorbikes, in this episode of TYP, Dr. Jodi and I talk about the healing power of medical professionals who make us feel safe, calm and optimistic, why kids these days are avoiding public displays of affection, the pressure of professional athletes to be role models (when all they actually want to be is athletes), anxiety in the workplace and lots more.

And not only did I not need them but some of the things I believed I needed, were actually anchors and barriers to my growth, resilience, development and ultimately, my success. In many cases, my beliefs about what I needed (to survive and thrive) were objectively wrong. You and I both know that my best job could be your worst job (mostly likely would be). Your optimal diet could make me sick. Your best workout might injure me. The movie that makes you laugh, might make me bored. The drug that alleviates your nerve pain, might make me hallucinate (actually happened to me). The ideology that makes you feel valued and connected might make feel suspicious. The motorbike ride that gives me joy, might give you terror. Brandon who was a highly trained police officer (member of S.W.A.T.) was at home, stood up from his chair, took a few steps, his heart stopped and he fell forward, putting his head through a wall, dead. Clearly, I have some deep-seated, alpha-male bullsh*t that needs to be dealt with (lol). Anyway, apart from my numerous issues, the Good Doc and I chat about the intersection of East and West in Integrative Medicine, how our thinking affects our immune system (psychoneuroimmunology, PNI), how self-healing works, the strategic use of placebos as a legitimate treatment option, what inflammation does to our health, the power of encouragement to improve performance, mood and mindset, how a doctor's communication style with a patient can impact medical outcomes (for better or worse) and lots more. Sun, 04 Feb 2024 - 1428 - #1425 Come Again? - David Gillespie
It's official; blokes are shooting weaker loads. Less volume and fewer swimmers. Science huh? If I get too technical, let me know. Over the last eighty years, sperm production by the average producer (there's a term) is down by about seventy-five percent; from 134 million sperm (per ml) on average in 1941, to less than 40 million (per ml) in recent times. Typical sperm production and ejaculate volume (hope you're not eating breakfast) are both way down and continue to plummet. According to David Gillespie, at our current trajectory, by 2040 the average bloke's sperm production will make him unviable for fatherhood. So why is this happening and what can we do about it? Take a listen.

These days, Zac is running ultra-marathons, working as a sparky and doing his best to educate and inform the public about osteosarcoma, along with supporting people emotionally, practically and financially who are on their own cancer journey. There's self-help, the product (programs, books, courses, workshops, podcasts), and there's self-help the practical, roll-up-yer-sleeves, raise a sweat, step into the unknown, periodically terrifying, process. In other words, there's the theory of self-help and there's the practical work required to literally help yourself. And while the self-help theory is not all junk (but plenty is), it's the self-help practice (the doing, not just the knowing), that will change your life. In this episode, Tiff and I endeavour to sort the feel-good, pseudo-scientific, psycho-babble, self-help-fairy-floss, from the real-world, not-always-comfortable information and ideas which can actually move the needle when it comes to changing our lives. Enjoy.

Wed, 31 Jan 2024 - 1424 - #1421 Dietary Confusion, Divergence & Cults - Kate Save
We humans have a propensity to make things harder than they need to be and without doubt, one of the things we complicate the f**k out of, is food. Has there ever been more confusion, disagreement and (let's be honest) hysteria around how we should eat and why? Echo chambers. Food cults. Pro this. Anti that. Ask ten experts (whatever 'expert' means) one question about diet and you may very well get ten different answers from people with multiple degrees, years of experience and no lack of confidence. In this fun chat, Dietician and Exercise Physiologist Kate Save and I don't provide the nutritional Holy Grail, but we do our best to offer some simple and practical ideas, simplify some of unnecessarily complex recommendations and sort through some of the straight-up nutritional BS.
Enjoy.

Tue, 30 Jan 2024 - 1423 - #1420 Transcendent Thinking - Harps
Can we become more effective thinkers? Can we expand our curiosity, creativity, awareness and cognitive output? In the simplest of terms, can we think better? And can that higher level thinking lead to higher level choices, behaviours and outcomes? Can we rise above the immediate context or subjective experience to access a more universal understanding, find more innovative and effective solutions, tap into profound insights and maybe even discover a sense of interconnectedness with a reality bigger than us? I believe we can. This is a conversation (well, monologue) about that.

Mon, 29 Jan 2024 - 1422 - #1419 Mindless Scrolling, Poisonous Booze & Fake Milk - Kate Save
I love connecting with Kate Save and this chat was a freestyle catch-up where the topics ranged from my social media sabbatical, the hypnotic power of mindless scrolling and addictive personalities, through to fake milks, cold exposure and why our body treats alcohol like a poison. Kate is the CEO and Co-founder of Be Fit Food (having featured on ‘Shark Tank'), she is a Clinical Dietitian, an Exercise Physiologist, a Diabetes Educator, a successful Entrepreneur, a Wife, Mum and inspiration to many.
Enjoy.

Sun, 28 Jan 2024 - 1421 - #1418 The Reality Stick - Harps
Life doesn't care about your feelings, goals, dreams or happiness; your mum might care (or not), but life doesn't. Some people will be bothered by your success, and some people will even want you to fail. Yes it's sh*t, but it's also true. Opportunity probably won't 'knock' and you probably won't 'fall on your feet', so you might have to create your own opportunities, lean into the discomfort and consciously and courageously build your own version of success. Sometimes the right path is the uncomfortable path and sometimes hard work doesn't pay off. Sometimes life is beautiful and sometimes it sucks. Sometimes people are incredible and sometimes they also suck. Sometimes pain is growth and sometimes, it's just pain. And in the middle of the good and bad, the mess and mayhem, the awesome and awful, is you. The author of your own story.

Sat, 27 Jan 2024 - 1420 - #1417 Challenging The Status Quo - Niraj Naik (PT2)
This episode with Niraj Naik was a mind-expanding, paradigm-shifting and enlightening conversation. For me anyway. I suspect it's a conversation that some people will listen to multiple times and others might find it a little to woo-woo for their liking. Which I get. But personally, I loved it. Niraj is a Pharmacist turned holistic health and breathwork expert, professional musician, serial entrepreneur, and one of the world's most sought-after spiritual ceremony facilitators. My intention going in was a 40-50 minute chat, but what eventuated was a two-part 75-minute chat, that I didn't want to end. Enjoy.

There's a long list of things which, for better or worse, impact how our brain 'works'. Wed, 24 Jan 2024 - 1417 - #1414 Values At Work - Toby Morrison
Toby Morrison from CFS Health is back and this time we talk about the idea of having a purpose bigger than ourselves and the challenge of building a business, brand and/or career which works on both a commercial level (makes a few bucks), and is also a practical expression of our values, ethics, beliefs and aspirations to do good in the world. Enjoy.

Tue, 23 Jan 2024 - 1416 - #1413 Concussion, Sugar & Fluoride - David Gillespie
The thing about a David Gillespie chat is, I never know WTF he's gonna talk about, where the conversation will go, whether l'll be smart enough to keep up and how many people he's gonna piss off with his insights. This time we spoke about some fascinating new research highlighting the significantly greater risk of concussion for women in contact sports, specifically, the AFLW which is 4-6 higher for women. We also spoke about the dangers of fluoride (yes, fluoride), the crazy amount of sugar consumed by the average Aussie per day and whether or not, fruit gets the tick of approval from the Chief of the Sugar Police. Enjoy.

Amazingly, Jodi has found a way to not only survive her anxiety but more importantly, a way to perform, succeed and thrive, in the middle of it. Enjoy.
