What factors should I consider when making decisions for my family business?
Hey everyone! Have you ever found yourself asking, "What should I really focus on when making key decisions for my family business?" If so, you're not alone. Let's dive into this critical topic!
First and foremost, the #1 factor is considering the benefit for the family. You've got to think about the impact of your decisions both in the short term and the long term. Who's really going to reap the rewards? Is it just the immediate family, or will the entire family see the benefits?
Another crucial aspect is your family business's values. Will they stand the test of time as you grow and expand? There's a great read called "The Founders" that highlights the importance of staying true to the original vision. Whether you're the second or third generation at the helm, it's vital to keep the core values of your family's legacy alive.
Don't forget to involve your family in these decisions too. Get the opinions of your relatives and siblings. Remember, steering a family business is like conducting an orchestra—you want everyone to play in harmony and benefit from the synergistic relationship.
So, weigh the pros and cons carefully. And if you're feeling stuck or just want to brainstorm ideas, don't hesitate to reach out. I'm here to help! Shoot me a message, visit my website at gmb.ph, or let's schedule a call to foster and grow your family business together.
Thanks for reading, and let's make your family business thrive!

How can I overcome my fear of stepping out of my comfort zone through franchising?
Hey there, aspiring entrepreneurs! It's Butch Bartolome here with some words of encouragement and advice for those of you looking to expand your horizons through franchising.
Do you want to grow your business? It's a crucial question, and if the answer is yes, it's time to shake off that personality shyness. The most effective way to sell your franchise is through yourself. As an entrepreneur, you need to embody the spirit of your business and become its most passionate advocate. Remember, entrepreneurship isn't for the faint-hearted; it's a calling for the brave, for those ready to show the world the value of their work.
Ask yourself these questions: What are you afraid of? What makes you feel embarrassed? People will always see you as the pioneer and the driving force behind your business. That's why it's so important to pick the right franchisees—those who will join you in a partnership and contribute to the growth of your business.
When you choose well, you build a community of like-minded individuals who support each other and share in the success. I've witnessed many entrepreneurs flourish by finding the perfect franchise partners who are just as dedicated to growing the business as they are.
So, let's nurture your personality and let it shine through your brand. If you're ready to take your brand to the next level and push past your comfort zone, I'm here to help. Visit my website at gmb.ph, give me a call, or book an exploratory call. Together, we can make your brand soar.

Why does it take an entrepreneur so long to decide if franchising the business is the right strategy?
Hey, how are you today? This is Butz Bartolome, and here's one very, very interesting question. Why does it take an entrepreneur so long to decide if franchising the business is the right strategy?
You know, it's very, very common. I've seen a lot of entrepreneurs who really want, who really want and desire, and who really are gung-ho about franchising the business. But I say, stop it, stop it, and and hold on. The excitement is there but think about it.
Number one, are you confident about the business? Is the business really providing pain-point solutions for your customers? Who are your target customers? What is the concept really all about? Is the concept very profitable? How long have you been operating your business?
The next is, how can you support your franchise. If, for example, you have three or four company stores, are you supporting it well? Are you treating those branches well? Have you really identified and identified the core competency of your business?
Haste makes waste. Again, the fear is there because, really, for the franchisor or the entrepreneur, it's like a parent who has really nurtured the business and grown it through, you know, blood, sweat, and tears.
But again, don't let the opportunity pass. I know there are a lot of people who are going to inquire, knocking on your door left and right, neighbors, and customers. Again, think about it. Is franchising for you?
Give me a call. I'm here. Visit my website, gmb.ph. Bye-bye.

What are the risks involved in franchising?
Hi, Butz Bartolome here, and the question is, what are the risks involved in franchising? You know, let's face it, in any business, there's always a risk; there's no guarantee. But when it comes to franchising, understanding the inherent risks is crucial before you dive in.
I always emphasize to my clients the importance of knowing your purpose. Why do you want to franchise? It's fundamental to have a solid reason and a clear vision. If your business is relatively new, say, just a few weeks old, it's premature to consider franchising. You need time to develop a proof-of-concept. This proof is what will form the foundation of your franchising venture.
So, let's break it down:
Don't rush. Develop your proof of concept first. Profitability: Understand your product's profitability and the potential earnings for franchisees. Support: Providing robust support to your franchisees is critical. Without it, they—and, by extension, your brand—could fail. Research and Development: Stay active in R&D to keep up with trends, innovate, and adapt to changes in the market. Long-term Goals: Have a clear roadmap for where you want to take your franchise.Franchising is about expanding your business in the right way. To learn more about navigating the risks and setting yourself up for success, reach out for a consultation. If you have any questions or just feel like talking franchising strategies, don't hesitate to contact me, Butch Bartolome, at https://www.gmb.ph.

Can franchising provide stability and security to my 3-year-old business?
Hello there, I'm Butz Bartolome, and I've been asked whether franchising can offer stability and security to a three-year-old business. Let's dive into this topic and explore the potential benefits.
Franchising is a way to amplify the success of your business. With a proven concept in place, as seen in a business that's been thriving for three years, there's a foundation for potential growth. This includes a solid business concept, profitability, investment details, cost analysis, and a comprehensive operations manual. It's also essential to have a focused target market and a strategy for addressing customer pain points.
Granting the right franchise to the right franchisee is crucial for stability. It's not just about expanding for the sake of it, but about careful selection, process, and location. This can lead to supplier leverage discounts due to increased volume, which in turn benefits franchisees and suppliers alike. Moreover, as your business grows, your brand equity increases, making your three-year-old business more valuable.
If you're interested in franchising and how it can secure the future of your business, don't hesitate to reach out. Visit www.gmb.ph to learn more and schedule an exploratory call. I'm here to help guide you through the process and answer any questions you may have.
Thank you for watching, and stay tuned for more insights. Take care, and bye-bye!

Wed, 15 Nov 2023 - 02min - 315 - Are there any risks involved in expanding a family business through franchising?
Hi, how are you? Butz Bartolome is here. Today, we're diving into the complexities and potential risks of expanding a family business through franchising. As a franchise consultant with 33 years of experience, particularly with family businesses, I'm here to share some insights.
The family business often begins with a spark of an idea, possibly from the first generation, and then it grows. The second generation builds upon it, and by the third, we're faced with a pivotal question: To franchise or not to franchise?
Franchising can propel a business to new heights, leading to exponential growth. However, it's crucial to have a clear understanding of what the family wants. This isn't a decision to be made unilaterally—seek consensus. Engage in discussions about the pros and cons, and ensure everyone's on the same page.
When you franchise a family business, organization is key. Who will manage business services? Who will support the franchisees? It's a team effort, and every family member's role must be defined. If some siblings opt out, it's important to document their decision to set clear expectations.
Remember, there's immense potential in letting your family business flourish through franchising. But don't rush it. Build a solid foundation first, establish the groundwork, and make sure you're ready for the next big step.
If you're pondering your family business's future and considering franchising, don't hesitate to reach out. Visit my website at gmb.ph and let's have an exploratory conversation. An outsider's perspective can be invaluable in helping you see the full potential of your decisions.
So, before you say yes or no to franchising, explore all possibilities. Your family brand has the potential to grow not just within your country but perhaps even internationally. Feel free to get in touch, and let's keep that family business thriving!
Take care, and bye-bye.

Hi everyone! Butz Bartolome is here. Let's talk about stepping out of our comfort zones regarding financial planning and growth. It might seem scary, but there are several strategies that we can employ.
First, embrace the power of education. Equip yourselves with the right tools and information about investment options, market trends, and risk management techniques. Continuous learning will boost your confidence and make this journey less intimidating.
Secondly, start small but dream big—with action! This doesn't mean going all out at once; set smaller, achievable goals that align with your long-term aspirations. These incremental steps help build momentum and gradually expand your comfort zone.
The third strategy is seeking guidance from experts such as financial advisors or business mentors like those from GoNegosyo. Their expertise minimizes risks while opening doors to opportunities you might not have seen otherwise.
Surround yourself with like-minded individuals who share similar goals; attend seminars (like GoNegosyo's), engage in networking, or join online communities for support, especially when venturing into uncharted financial territories.
Lastly, embrace failure as a learning opportunity rather than an end point because every calculated risk is a chance for growth!
I hope these tips help you navigate any fear holding you back on this journey toward achieving robust financial growth. Remember: Start small, dream big, but always take action! This is Butz Bartholome from GMB Franchise Developers. Keep in touch!

How can market research assist in identifying growth opportunities for a 3-year-old business?
Hi, Butz Bartolome is here. Today's topic? How market research can identify growth opportunities for a three-year-old business!
Three years in, and you're nearing the finishing line—your business is almost ready to graduate! Here are some key insights from our discussion:
1️⃣ Uncover more about your target audience. Where do they come from? What trends influence them? And most importantly, what are their pain points that your product can solve? Remember, we’re not just selling products; we're providing solutions!
2️⃣ Keep an eye on market trends. ️ Is there a shift happening in your area? Are new establishments cropping up or traditional ones disappearing?
3️⃣ Assess customer satisfaction levels regularly. Are people buying because of peer influence or truly for the love of your product?
4️⃣ Identify competitive advantages beyond price—think value for money!
5️⃣ Spot emerging trends early on with an eagle-eye approach. It helps to know where things are headed so you can be at the forefront of progress.
To wrap it up, dive deep into your market—swim around and get familiar with every nook and cranny. Never give up on growing that business of yours! Until next time... Bye-bye!

How can I ensure that the values and culture of my family business are maintained during expansion?
Hello, friends! Butz Bartolome is here again. Today, I'd like to discuss a question many entrepreneurs often ask: how to maintain our family business's unique values and culture during expansion? It's a common concern, but fear not; I have some strategies for you.
First, clearly define your core values. What makes your family business stand out? Communicate these with your team or franchisees. Make sure they understand their importance in keeping the spirit of your company alive—it’s about more than just money.
The next strategy is to hire employees who align with these very same values. When expanding, it's essential to employ individuals who resonate with the ethos of your company—those that don't merely possess necessary skills but also share in its vision and beliefs. Thorough interviews and orientations will help ascertain this alignment.
The third strategy is developing a strong onboarding process. This may take time—a hasty onboard might lead to wastage down the line—but will surely pay off when new hires truly understand what they're part of.
Fourthly, never underestimate the power of consistent communication. As you expand, continually remind yourself (and everyone else!) where it all started; keep those foundational principles at heart while steering towards new horizons.
Last but definitely not least: Lead by example! You—the owner—should be embodying these cherished philosophies first and foremost!
In conclusion, maintaining our businesses' character as we scale depends largely on us as leaders—staying true to what made us successful in the first place even amidst growth and change!
This has been Butz Bartolome dropping some knowledge for today! Stay tuned for more insights, take care always, and keep that business growing! Bye for now.

Hi, Butz Bartolome is here. How's your day going? Well, let's talk about this strategy for expanding a family business. You know, we have gathered some of the tried and tested strategies, and I'd like to share this with you. So, number one is to embrace the power of storytelling. Family businesses have a unique advantage—an incredible story. We all have a story to tell. Share your family's journey, your journey, or your challenges. The passion behind your business is so important. Authenticity speaks volumes and helps build a genuine connection with your audience. You know, the second is leveraging social media. Social media is something that we cannot ignore anymore. This digital landscape offers endless opportunities for family businesses to make their mark. Engage with your customers on platforms that they love ️ . Find out what it is that you can answer before they can think about it. Create a community around your brand ️ . Remember, every like, comment, and share ️ counts. The third that I'd like to share is this: collaborate for success. As a family business owner, you have the power and network at your fingertips ⚡️ . Partner up with other local businesses, influencers, or even community organizations ️⚙️ . Join forces and be a mentor. The fourth is actually, don't forget, the power of word-of-mouth, which I advocate for! Happy customers are your best brand ambassadors. Please encourage them to spread the word about your business by offering referral incentives, creating a loyalty program, or even acknowledging them. Sometimes, a personal recommendation is all it takes to bring out your business. So again, share your marketing strategies and let me interact with you. This is Butz Bartolome. I hope to get your reaction and your thriving business journey. Okay? #FamilyBusiness #Storytelling #SocialMediaMarketing #Collaboration #WordOfMouth

How does family involvement impact decision-making in a business?
Hi, Butz Bartolome is here. Let's chat about how family involvement impacts decision-making in businesses.
We all have families, and they play a significant role in our lives. It's no different when it comes to running a business. Ever wondered about their impact on the decision-making process? Family involvement brings in quite the dynamic! Shared values, deep understanding of each other, and mutual support can foster trust and unity within the business, resulting in effective decisions.
But hold on—it isn't always sunshine and rainbows! Sometimes emotions run high or personal dynamics interfere. The line between professional and personal lives might blur, which isn't ideal.
The key is striking that delicate balance by leveraging strengths such as shared vision & long-term commitment while addressing potential pitfalls via open communication with clear boundaries. This way, your business can harness the power of family involvement while minimizing conflicts.
Just something to chew on from Butz Bartolome at GMB Franchise Developers. Catch you later!

Customer feedback plays an integral role in identifying the Unique Selling Proposition (USP) for entrepreneurs. Entrepreneurs constantly try to carve out their niche, and understanding customer preferences is fundamental to this process. Engaging with customers personally and asking them for their input not only makes them feel valued but also provides priceless insights into what they prefer about your offering. This could be anything from the quality of your product or service, how they're being served, or even the ambiance of your establishment. Remember that while forms can provide some measure of insight, nothing beats a personal approach when it comes to gathering data on customer preference. So, I'd like you to focus on those conversations and realize that your USP depends heavily on your customers.
