Larry Hasmatali

Welcome to Moose Jaw Church of God Podcast where you can listen to our weekly messages. OUR MISSION: To love God and people passionately; to lead people to Christ; To equip them for His purpose and mobilize them for His service (Matthew 22:37-39; 28:19). OUR LEAD PASTORS: LARRY & CONNIE HASMATALI Larry is a respected and gifted minister of the gospel holding two leadership positions within the Church of God. In 1996, he became the lead pastor of the COG-MJ. In 2012, he was also appointed as Administrative Bishop for the Church of God in Western Canada. He serves in both of these roles with great devotion and passion for leadership development and church growth. Larry and his wife, Connie, have made their home in Moose Jaw since 1986. They have a son, Brandon, and a daughter, Maddison, who are living and working in Saskatoon and Edmonton. *"Since COG-MJ began with a radio program back in 1943, it has been marked by generosity, innovation, vision and empowerment. We're grateful for those who went before us so that we could be where we are today. We see a church full of people who generously give themselves to be innovative in proclaiming the hope of the gospel with a vision that is far beyond what we alone can accomplish. It’s a vision that can only be brought about by God Himself as He empowers each of us by His Spirit to serve the people in our community. We believe the best years are still yet to come and we hope you will journey forward with us as we follow Christ’s lead."* - Pastor Larry

  • 542 - When Dark Clouds Settle

We tend to reserve "grief" for funerals — but Scripture gives us a much wider language for pain. Listen in as Cher Dombowsky explores biblical lament: what it is, why God invites us to bring him our honest sorrow — from the deepest losses to the everyday disappointments — and how lament leads us, not away from God, but straight into deeper trust.

  • 540 - The Work and Aim of Prayer

Oswald Chambers wrote, “Prayer is the greater work.” Prayer is not simply preparatory, and it’s certainly not impractical. This week, we’re going to hold the magnifying glass over the call to prayer that arose last week by listening to Jesus instruction on prayer. Jesus presumes that his followers will be pray-ers. He also teaches us the way in which we should pray. Listen in as Adam Driscoll, Director of Discipleship at Cornerstone Christian School, helps us examine Jesus’ teaching about the work and aim of prayer.

  • 539 - It Begins with a Burden

Before Nehemiah rebuilt Jerusalem’s walls, God first placed a burden on his heart. In this kick-off message from Nehemiah 1, listen in as Pastor Larry invites us to discover how God often begins significant works not with resources or a strategy, but with a burden that we cannot ignore. Learn how God calls us to see what others overlook, feel what moves His heart, and respond through prayer.

  • 538 - The King who Gave Everything

Jesus didn't come simply to teach us how to live—He came to give His life for us. In this powerful message from Mark 15–16, listen in as Pastor Larry helps us see the King who suffered for us, gave His life for our salvation, and rose again to give us hope. The cross reveals His love, and the empty tomb reveals His victory. Because Jesus lives, failure doesn't have to be final, and your story isn't over.
