Dr. Michael Swango, also known as Dr. Death, had his residency rescinded after his internship at Ohio State due to patients dying under his care while he was working in an ambulance, and due to his falsification of internship documents. His faculty and peers expressed their concerns, and yet, nobody alerted police or other medical institutions. After working as an EMT for an Illinois ambulance service, several of his colleagues fell ill after consuming food he brought in, or coffee he prepared.

Dr. Death was arrested for arsenic poisoning and served five years, but he was still able to work as a resident in New York and Zimbabwe following these incidences. After his rotation at the VA in New York, Special Agent Bruce Sackman set his sights on Swango, leading to his capture.

Tell them you paid a scammer and ask them to refund your money. If you think it’s a scam, report it to the FTC at ReportFraud.ftc.gov. Notify the social networking site or app where you met the scammer, too.

In 2016, Ashley Michelle’s on-and-off again partner, William Joles, brutally murdered his best friend, Nathan Deslippes. William then lured Ashley to the apartment, where he assaulted her, attempted to strangle her, and forced her to clean up the scene.

Ashley escaped, but the trauma endured… However, Ashley has been able to use her experiences to help others in need, and has recently written a book titled, “Finding Strength Through Tragedy.”

While the evidence ultimately yielded no direct link, the recent events have brought to light the four unsolved murders of Kim Raffo, Barbara Breidor, Molly Jean Dilts, and Tracy Ann Roberts in 2006.

The Long Island Serial Murders began in 1993 with the murder of Rita Tangredi, followed by the murders of Sandra Castilla, and Colleen McNamee in 1993 and 1994. Jane Doe #7 was discovered in 1996, followed by Jane Doe #3 (Peaches), in 1997. Two torsos were found in 2000, and 2003 - and after that, it all went silent... until the disappearance of Shannan Gilbert in 2010.

While Shannan’s death remains a mystery, her legacy goes beyond her fate. Shannan’s disappearance reignited public interest in the unsolved Long Island Serial Murder cases, and set in motion a chain of events that led to the discovery of additional victims, including the four women who became known as The Gilgo Four - Melissa Barthelemy, Megan Waterman, Maureen Brainard-Barnes, and Amber Costello. After Kent McGowen was convicted in 1994 for the murder of Susan White, his conviction was overturned during his appeals process. Kent went back to trial in 2002, and was again found guilty, but was sentenced to 20 years - five more years than his previous sentence. After Harris County Deputy Kent McGowen fatally shot and killed Susan White on August 25th, 1992, ADA's Ed Porter and Don Smyth were immediately suspicious that this was not done in self-defense.

Rumors began to swirl that Kent and Susan had a brief relationship, and once it was ended, Kent was left enraged. Depositions showed that Susan believed she was being sexually harassed by Kent, but no formal reports or complaints were made.

Investigators were soon convinced Susan White's death was not self-defense, and Kent was indicted by a Grand Jury on October 27th, 1992. Kent was found guilty and was sentenced to 15 years on March 11th, 1994, but due toTexas law regarding bonds pending appeal, Kent was able to stay out of prison during the appeals process.

Kent McGowen became a police officer with the Houston Police Department in the 1980’s. While his career wasn’t perfect, it didn’t come under scrutiny until he was employed with the Harris County Sheriff’s Office. While serving a warrant, Deputy Kent McGowen shot and killed Susan White. While Kent fought to argue his innocence due to self-defense, many others claimed otherwise.

After Nance, the horse queen, fails to appear at the scheduled court date, Pennsylvania dismisses the custody issue on May 21st, 2021. They did NOT resolve the issue of "contempt." In 2022, Chad fought the federal charges, offering extradition in return for air ambulance transport and a speedy trial, or requested the U.S. to dismiss the indictment. Sadly, the U.S. was not ready to let it go, and Chad is STILL in St. Kitts needing urgent medical care.

This week I delve into the controversial and extreme haunted attraction known as McKamey Manor, an extreme haunted house attraction that has sparked intense debate and controversy.

Located in Summertown, Tennessee, McKamey Manor is not your typical haunted house attraction. It bills itself as an extreme haunt experience that challenges its participants physically and mentally. The experience is not for the faint of heart; it involves extreme simulations of torture, confinement, and other traumas. What I’m trying to say is, you have to have at least one loose screw to want to participate.

Participants must sign a 40-page waiver, undergo a background check, and pass a physical and mental exam before being allowed to take the tour. Once inside, participants are subjected to a grueling, hours-long experience that includes simulated drowning, extreme temperatures, and physical and psychological torture. The attraction has garnered significant criticism, with some describing it as a form of torture and exploitation. The owner, Russ McKamey, has defended the experience as a form of "survival horror" that pushes participants to their limits, claiming that no one has completed the experience to this day.

However, many former participants have spoken out against the attraction, describing their experiences as traumatic and violating. Some have accused McKamey of manipulating and gaslighting participants and have criticized the attraction's lack of transparency and oversight.

Exploring the complex issues surrounding McKamey Manor, including the ethics of extreme haunt experiences, the role of consent, and the legal and regulatory challenges posed by extreme attractions- this episode will force you to ask yourself, “how far is too far?”

After Asheboro Police Department failed to properly investigate the mysterious death of Brandon Embry, his mother, Sarah, takes it into her own hands. Days after her son’s death, a mysterious woman named Cassandra reaches out to Brandon’s sister-in-law, sending a long-winded, and strange message.

Brandon Embry was a bright, healthy, 32-year-old man with nothing but opportunity ahead of him. After moving to Asheboro, North Carolina from Washington to be closer to his family in August of 2018, Brandon’s future seemed bright. Why wouldn’t it?

In February of 2019, a bizarre and inexplicable series of health-related events began to plague Brandon. Brandon was sent home from work on a day he was feeling ill and was asked to take a drug test due to his “odd” behavior. Brandon obliged but was transported at the McDonalds he stopped at on the way for breakfast prior to getting the drug screen. The cause? Altered mental status, nausea, vomiting, and severe abdominal pain.

Not long after Brandon is admitted into the emergency department, he goes into respiratory failure and becomes unresponsive. This was just the first of several bizarre health complications that Brandon endured leading up to his passing shortly after his 33rd birthday.

While Asheboro Police Department was quick to close his case, his incredible family had other plans, with his mother, Sarah making it her goal to uncover the truth of what happened to her son, and all of the signs point to a woman who is sketchy as hell. I purposely left you hanging for part two, where Sarah and I will dive into the “mysterious” woman.

What happened to Alex VanDalsen?

Alex went missing on the night of February 3rd, 2021. On February 4th, after realizing he was gone, and not at his girlfriend's (which he normally was), his mother Jennifer called 911. It isn't until the 9th... let me repeat that, THE 9TH, that Alex was found.

Alex's death was ruled as a suicide, but I implore you to dig deep, and ask yourself, "do I really think this is a suicide?"

This week we discuss the case that was the inspiration for the movies The Exorcism of Emily Rose, Requiem, and Anneliese the Exorcist Tapes.Anneliese Michel was a devout Roman Catholic from Bavaria that began experiencing seizures, and hallucinations. After seeing several specialists and being diagnosed with epilepsy, her symptoms worsened in 1975. Anneliese began refusing to eat or drink, ate bugs, and developed an intense aversion to any religious items.

Between 1975 to 1976, Anneliese underwent 67 exorcisms conducted by Father Alt and Father Renz, who believed she was possessed. Anneliese and her family believed the same, and Anneliese began praying rigorously to save herself. On July 1st, 1976, Anneliese died from dehydration, starvation, and physical exertion, leading to four individuals getting charged with negligent homicide.

Beginning on July 6th, 1976, the .44-caliber killer began to mindlessly attack young individuals across New York, spreading fear among New Yorkers until August, 1977.

This week we begin part one of our dive into David Berkowitz (Son of Sam). Born out of wedlock, David was adopted by a Jewish family unable to have children of their own. At a young age, David felt isolated and struggled with depression. Eventually, David begins hearing voices compelling him to kill. David attacked two victims with a knife on Christmas Eve of 1975, but the voices didn’t stop. After acquiring a .44-caliber revolver illegally in the summer of 1976, David begins his reign of terror across New York.

This week we discuss another case that allegedly has some spooky elements, since it’s Halloween until at least October 31st. Brookfield, Connecticut is a quaint, picturesque New England town. But, Brookfield has a sinister history… and by sinister I mean, it unfortunately made history for being the first place in the United States to attempt to use possession by Satan himself as a defense.
Now known as The Devil Made Me Do It case, and the inspiration behind The Conjuring: The Devil Made Me Do It (it was not a good film), we dive into the events leading up to February 16th, 1981, when Arne Johnson brutally murdered his landlord, Alan Bono.
