Wed, 23 Sep 2026 - 1h 11min - 87 - 💩 Hyrox Poopgate, Karen's Crazy Trail Run, Sydney Sweeney's Sports Ad, Rachel's Return To Running + Why Running Is About More Than Racing
The trio reunites in today's episode! Rachel is back with an update on her return to running after injury, including her first run/walks and the challenge of taking things day by day even when you're starting to feel stronger. Karen shares the story of a very ambitious trail run with Molly Seidel in Montana that ended with a lot more elevation, soreness, and bear anxiety than expected. Meanwhile, Megan talks about missing a race, cheering from the sidelines with her daughter, and finding a different kind of value in running when you're not focused on a time or training goal.
The Chicks then dive into the viral "Poopgate" situation from a recent Hyrox competition, where an unfortunate bathroom emergency turned into a much bigger conversation about what happens when endurance athletes lose control of their bodies mid-race. They get into race-day poop stories, pelvic floor issues, the ethics of sharing embarrassing photos of athletes, and whether endurance events need better protocols for these situations.
They also discuss the internet's reaction to Sydney Sweeney's sports betting ad, women in sports marketing, and whether sports brands should be doing more to actually feature and pay female athletes.
Plus: marathon strategy for a two-loop course, whether heart rate monitors are worth using, and how to deal with the jealousy, frustration and grief that comes with being injured.

Fri, 05 Dec 2025 - 55min - 48 - 💫 Megan’s PB Recap From Indy, Karen’s Future Plans, Ideas For Marathon Expos + When To Retire Your Running Shoes?
Karen and Megan reunite for the first time since mile 24 of the Indianapolis Marathon for an overdue recap of Megan’s 2:41, four minute personal best. While it’s hard to be disappointed, she’s hungry for more and has an exciting new brand backing her OTQ chase.
In other news, friend of the pod Molly Seidel was in town and witnessed Karen’s unfortunate struggle of moving a couch into her apartment. This week’s Chick Chat prompts an important discussion: when do you retire your running shoes? Plus, we’ll be rooting for our alma maters Notre Dame and Northwestern at the NCAA Cross Country Championships on Saturday.
