  • 155 - A Deer Stand on Her Head, Firecrackers in His Pocket & One Very Bad Airbnb | Episode 187

A deer stand winds up on somebody’s head, firecrackers get lit in the worst possible place, a “great deal” on a Gatlinburg Airbnb keeps getting worse, and a Louisiana couple brings the kind of stories that never seem to end where you think they will. Frederick and Amy also eventually reveal what brought them all the way from Louisiana to sit down with us, and the episode takes a much more personal turn when Frederick shares a powerful story about alcohol, family, faith, and the events that finally changed the direction of his life. We close with Philippians 4:14–23 and a conversation about giving—not just money, but our time, talents, and resources—as an act of worship. The Hayden Alabama Podcast is a place for Southern stories, clean humor, faith, family, and the kind of characters you don’t forget. Subscribe and come sit around the table with us each week. • 154 - Do These Razorback Folks Know How to Tell a Story? | Episode 186

What happens when Arkansas storytellers get together and start swapping stories? You hear about a man who unknowingly gives Sam Walton his opinion of a brand-new warehouse, a rattlesnake that winds up where no sane person would want one, a 17-point buck nobody believes exists, and a man who goes looking for a fight with a preacher who reacts in a way he never expected. Along the way, we get stories about old-time Arkansas childhoods, U.S. marshals hunting outlaws, homemade toys, Christmas before electricity, boxing, hunting, dangerous animals, and the people who shaped these storytellers’ lives. We also finish with a conversation about the Good Samaritan, mercy, revenge, and what it looks like when Christ changes the way we treat people. The Hayden Alabama Podcast is a place for Southern stories, unforgettable characters, laughter, faith, and the kind of conversations you usually only hear when everybody pulls up a chair and stays awhile. • 153 - How Do You Explain Something That Looks This Bad? | Episode 185

Some warnings are apparently for other people. This week, a wheelchair ramp falls into the water before somebody is told to hit the gas, two hunters have a deer come looking for them before they ever make it to the woods, and a red-flag beach trip turns into a whole lot more adventure than anybody planned. We’ve also got a courthouse misunderstanding, a runaway Shetland pony, one of the most unfortunate school bathroom situations imaginable, and several decisions that seemed much more reasonable at the time. Along the way, Justin Fisher shares what life with cerebral palsy has taught him about independence, dignity, humor, and telling stories people remember. Later, he shares the childhood horse accident that caused him to seriously think about life, death, and his need for a Savior. We close with Philippians 4:8–9 and a conversation about what we choose to dwell on, how we live out what we know, and where real peace is found. The Hayden Alabama Podcast is Southern storytelling, clean humor, hunting, family, faith, and the kind of true stories that somehow get better every time somebody says, “You’re not going to believe this.” Subscribe and join us each week. • 152 - At What Point Do You Just Go Home? | Southern Storytelling | Episode 184

Stephen and TB join us for stories about runaway Rangers, game wardens, accidental gun discharges, golf-course confidence, snakes, family, growing up Southern, and some expensive lessons learned the hard way. Later, TB shares how doing the right things for the wrong reason forced him to examine who he was actually living for, and we close with a conversation from Philippians 4:5 about why gentleness is not weakness.
