Return to San Siro

The Curva Nord gave the team a lift as they demolished Salernitana 5-0 and as the smoke from the flares settled, it was obvious that Inter had rediscovered their scoring form. Lautaro Martinez netted a hat-trick and Edin Dzeko got a brace, this was a game where Inter were back to form. It was also a great moment for the Official Inter podcast in English as host Richard Hall travelled to Milan to catch up with Thomas Lawrence and maybe perhaps this brought a little luck. This podcast is a little different and we will tell you why.

This podcast documents Richard Hall’s return to Milan, He has been visiting San Siro since 2005 and whilst he lives in the UK he has been, at the peak, watching the team up to 10 times a season. He has been with the Ultras, with the press, interviewed people such as Ivan Perisic, Mario Corso, Giuseppe Bergomi, Roberto Mancini and more and has met Javier Zanetti. This was his first time back in nearly three years and the podcast shows his journey to meet Thomas, however, this is not about him.

This podcast was created by Inter, not to be about Richard or Thomas but instead was to try and show the emotion of being back in Milan and the emotion of seeing Inter after the pandemic. This is for the fans who haven’t been able to return yet and for those that have. It is about realising just how important it is to see Milan, see Inter and San Siro. This has been produced to let the fans that have not been able to travel that we understand how hard it is and that, now restrictions are lifting, you will also be able to experience this soon. This podcast is in appreciation to all those who have missed being at the games, we thank you for your support from a far. We hope that this podcast shows that things are getting better, travel is possible and also we simply tried to capture emotions we know you all feel.

The official Inter podcast in English is back with Richard Hall and Thomas Lawrence. They look back on the games against Roma and Napoli, as well as looking ahead to the Champions League test against Liverpool. The Nerazzurri have had to endure a difficult first two months of 2022 but they have come through this with flying colours albeit with a few challenges.

After the Derby Della Madonnina, Inter rose up and despatched Roma in the Coppa Italia. The win was a much needed tonic and it also set up a chance avenge the game against Milan as the two will meet in the semi-finals. The team then travelled to Naples and produced a solid display gaining a point. This sees out a period where the team have had to endure some tough back to back fixtures. Now it is about moving forward and taking on Liverpool in the Champions League.

Ashley Young took part in a virtual meet & greet with pupils and teachers from ten UK schools as part of the Inter Academy Experience programme.
Ten English schools, which are part of the Inter Academy Experience programme, were invited to take part in a virtual meet & greet with the English player. The initiative, which was realised in collaboration with Inter Academy partner Inspiresport - a leading British business in high-performance sports development tours, allowed 20 pupils and teachers to chat with the Nerazzurri full-back through a series of questions, which ranged from facts on his life, anecdotes and his experiences throughout his career in the Premier League and Serie A.
The meeting was a really educational experience for everyone involved and was a chance to go into greater depth into a series of topics related to passion for football. You can listen to the chat here.

The I M Collection represents the values of inclusivity and brotherhood: a weave of geometric shapes and a colour palette of yellow, white, black and blue. It’s a jersey inspired by the visionary attitude of one of the Club’s founders, futurist artist Giorgio Muggiani, and recalls the idea of inclusion, that very same belief that has always made Milano the most “international” city in Italy.

“We asked ourselves how we could present Inter in today’s world, especially with the future in mind. We were looking to find something that would represent Inter in a modern way and, at the same time, firmly reflect what has come before in the Club’s 113-year history,” said Luca Danovaro, Inter’s Chief Marketing Officer. The new crest represents a new innovation for the Nerazzurri brand and the path that has been taken in recent years.

The task of designing the new logo was entrusted to Bureau Borsche, a graphic design studio founded in 2007 in Munich. Mirko Borsche and the designer Kolja Buscher go into detail about our new badge, looking at its specific characteristics.

The Frenchman donned the number six jersey during his days at Inter, as he did for the French national side and earlier in his career at Paris Saint Germain. But he was a number six with all the trappings of a great number ten, a player of innate elegance, class, and technique. A World Cup winner and European champion, our poster boy for the 1997-98 season ticket campaign, a musician, an Inter ambassador and above all a free spirit. Put simply: Youri Djorkaeff!

From the Ajax academy to Real Madrid and - in just a couple of days - from Linate airport to San Siro to play the derby against AC Milan as Inter’s newest number 10. Wesley Sneijder’s arrival was the icing on the cake helping a great team - created by José Mourinho – become the perfect team, ready to write its name in the history books.

A born leader driven to win, Lothar Matthaus is without a doubt a number 10 that broke the mould. He was not – as most number 10s are often defined – the most skilful player in the team. But like all number tens, he possessed a vital quality: charisma. And thanks to that, along with his strength and leadership, Matthaus inspired Inter against the odds to the Scudetto in 1989 and the UEFA Cup in 1991. In between, there was World Cup glory in 1990 with West Germany. His achievements and personal qualities ensure Lothar Matthaus is still revered by nerazzurri fans to this day.

Power, strength and technique: the traits that made up one of our best remembered nerazzurri number 10s. A player who may not have fulfilled his immense potential, but whose flame for a few years at least burned brighter than most. This is the story of Adriano Leite Ribeiro, the Emperor with a black and blue heart.

Left or right side, it didn’t make a difference to him: Evaristo Beccalossi was our number 10, a genius and an inspiration, your typical classy player but one however that did not always fit with the style of the team / but one however that was not always easy to slot into the formation.
A pure talent: even if sometimes he tended to disappear in matches only to then stamp his mark on the game again, suddenly catching you by surprise and amazing the fans leaving them speechless.
A man who reshaped the game of football as a show for the fans through three simple concepts: mesmerising dribbling was his way of saying hello, a cheeky nutmeg was his way of winning you over and a goal to make you fall in love! Not by chance, Evaristo Beccalossi has rightly earned a place in our history dedicated to the great numbers 10.

A number ten who distinguished himself in more ways than one. In particular, his class which he had in abundance. Elegance, grace, control, composure and technique, this number ten possessed the lot. Out on the pitch, there was no stopping him even if away from the playing surface, he preferred to shy away from the limelight. This is the story of our champion, Dennis Bergkamp.

Blond, handsome, charming, not to mention an outrageous left foot: with the ball at his feet, Lennart Skoglund literally did what he wanted much to the delight of the Inter fans. Ten thousand supporters came to welcome the Swede upon his arrival in Milan in the summer of 1950. Alongside Benito Lorenzi, he formed a dynamic duo full of class and character, inspiring the club to great success. Skoglund ended his career in his native Sweden where he is a legend and he left a lasting impression on all those who saw him play. A football genius who was unpredictable on and off the pitch: this is the story of the one and only Lennart Skoglund.

There is only one word to describe him: Phenomenon. Without a doubt, one of the best players to grace the game. Wearing Inter's number 10 jersey, in the 1997/98 season, Ronaldo displayed a devastating mix of power, explosiveness and speed at a level never seen before. A revolutionary number 10 that defined an era. Ronaldo in the black and blue of Inter left his mark on the game capturing the imagination of football fans across the world.

From Bahia Blanca to Milan via Avellaneda with the blessing of nerazzurri great Diego Milito, Lautaro Martinez does not correspond to the number 10 stereotype. He is instead a fighter, a warrior, a player that never gives an inch. Lautaro battles for every ball, possessing a strength and determination second to none. El Toro Lautaro Martinez is the number 10 of Inter's present and the star of our first podcast.
