In today's lesson, we are going to learn about the Lithuanian locative case (vietininkas). By the end of the video, you will understand what the locative case is, when it is used, and how to form it.

We will also practice using the locative case through interactive on-screen exercises. This will help you reinforce your understanding of this important grammar topic, avoid common mistakes, and expand your Lithuanian vocabulary.

My name is Paulius, and I am an online tutor of Lithuanian and English. I created this Lithuanian podcast for learners who want to listen to authentic Lithuanian content but struggle to find material suitable for their level.

In this week's episode, you will hear my conversation with Agathe. Born in France to a Lithuanian family, Agathe began learning Lithuanian after her grandfather passed away. As the last fluent Lithuanian speaker in her family, he and his brother inspired Agathe to preserve the language and keep this part of her heritage alive. I am a Lithuanian & English tutor who works online. In my free time, I create educational materials, such as podcasts, presentations, and texts for my students to read or listen to.

In today's meeting, I would like to introduce you to my native language by explaining how to address people using the vocative case. We will start by comparing the vocative with the nominative case. Later, we will practice addressing people with a few on-screen exercises.

Ar A2 lygis per trejus metus yra per didelis reikalavimas gyvenant Lietuvoje?

Šios savaitės tinklalaidėje noriu jums paaiškinti, kas yra A2 lygis lietuvių kalboje, kiek laiko gali užtrukti norint jį pasiekti ir kaip artimiausiu metu gali pasikeisti laikino leidimo gyventi Lietuvoje tvarka.

Šis vaizdo įrašas yra mano reakcija į socialiniuose tinkluose ir žiniasklaidoje garsiai nuskambėjusią Vilniaus miesto mero Valdo Benkunsko iniciatyvą, kuria siekiama pakeisti laikino leidimo gyventi Lietuvoje pratęsimo tvarką.

Vilniaus meras siūlo pratęsti leidimą gyventi tik tiems žmonėms, kurie per trejus metus nuo pirmojo leidimo išdavimo pramoko lietuvių kalbą iki A2 lygio. Šį lygį reikėtų įrodyti išlaikant valstybinės kalbos egzaminą.

Skirtingai nuo daugelio komentatorių socialiniuose tinkluose, aš palaikau šią iniciatyvą, ir peržiūrėję mano vaizdo įrašą, jūs sužinosite kodėl. Taip pat, noriu išgirsti ir jūsų nuomonę.

Today I'd like to introduce you to Yuliya. Yuliya is a Lithuanian student from Ukraine. She came to Lithuania in 2021 to pursue her Bachelor’s degree in Klaipėda. This year, she graduated from Vilnius University with a Master’s degree in Eastern European Studies.

Now, after five years, she is back in Ukraine and getting used to everyday life in Kyiv. In today’s video, we talk about her experiences in Lithuania, how she feels about being back home in Ukraine, her Master’s thesis, and, of course, learning Lithuanian.

Kijevo Rusios gyventojai (rūsičiai arba rūsiai) XIII amžiuje po mongolų-totorių invazijos skilo į dvi dalis: vieni prisijungė prie Lietuvos Didžiosios Kunigaikštystės, kiti pateko į mongolų-totorių, o vėliau - į Maskvos kunigaikštystė įtaką. Šis istorinis laikotarpis yra itin svarbus, nes į dvi dalis padalinta Kijevo Rusia vystėsi nevienodai. Viena dalis, per Lietuvą ir vėliau Lenkiją, integravosi į vakarietišką pasaulį, kita – per mongolus ir maskviečius – į rytietišką, mongolišką, totorišką pasaulį. Antrasis pasaulinis karas Vakarų Europoje baigėsi 1945-aisiais, tačiau Lietuvai ir kitoms Baltijos šalims karas nesibaigė iki pat Sovietų Sąjungos žlugimo. Lietuva liko okupuota Tarybų Sąjungos ir ginkluotu pasipriešinimu siekė atkurti savo nepriklausomybę. Partizanai kovojo prieš daug kartų didesnes sovietų pajėgas iki pat septintojo dešimtmečio, nors formaliai ginkluota rezistencija buvo nutraukta 1953-iaisiais.
