The WorldView in 5 Minutes

Voiced by veteran talk show host Adam McManus and written by radio-host and pastor Kevin Swanson and a team of other staff writers, The World View in 5 Minutes is a round-up of the daily news from a Biblical perspective. And, perhaps most uniquely, you will often hear applicable Scriptures paired with the stories themselves. It’s part Paul Harvey, part R.C. Sproul. You’ll get hooked to the most definitively Christian overview of the news including politics, pop culture, the church, and tracing God’s sovereign hand in the affairs of man.

It’s Friday, November 6th, A.D. 2026. This is The Worldview in 5 Minutes heard on 140 radio stations and at www.TheWorldview.com.  I’m Adam McManus. (Adam@TheWorldview.com) By Jonathan Clark Christians & Muslims in India ask for repeal of “anti-conversion” law On October 29th, Christian minority leaders and human rights advocates met in the southern state of Karnataka in India, demanding the immediate repeal of the contentious “anti-conversion” law, reports International Christian Concern.  At a joint press conference in Bengaluru, the capital of Karnataka State, prominent Christian and Muslim leaders called on the current Indian National Congress government to fulfill its electoral promise to scrap the misnamed “Karnataka Protection of Right to Freedom of Religion Act, 2022.”  You see, Karnataka passed the anti-conversion law in 2022 under a previous Hindu-nationalist Bharatiya Janata Party administration, amid intense civil society protests. Although a secular government subsequently unseated the BJP Party after promising to restore minority protections, the administration has hesitated to formally repeal the legislation, drawing sharp criticism from the advocates who helped elect it. Romans 1:16 says, "For I am not ashamed of the Gospel, because it is the power of God that brings salvation to everyone who believes: first to the Jew, then to the Gentile." Send a polite, 4-sentence note to the Indian Ambassador to America, Vinay Kwatra, urging him to help repeal the contentious “anti-conversion” law in Karnataka State, India. Address your letter to the Embassy of India, 2107  Massachusetts Avenue NW, Washington, DC 20008. Arabic-speaking Christians gaining access to Biblical scholarship Arabic-speaking Christians are gaining access to biblical scholarship in their language. The Arab Baptist Theological Seminary in Lebanon released Arabic editions of internationally respected commentaries in September. Christian Daily International noted, “The series [is] a working tool for pastors, teachers and theology students across the Arabic-speaking world, where … thorough and reliable commentaries have long been scarce.” Fewer Evangelicals voted in midterm elections Here in the United States, exit polls show where Republicans lost ground in the midterm elections. Conservatives lost support from Protestants and Catholics this year. Specifically, white born-again or Evangelical Christians tend to support Republicans by a wide margin. But fewer of them voted this year. Evangelicals made up 17 percent of the electorate in 2026, down from 23 percent in 2024. Also, a majority of parents supported President Donald Trump in 2024. But a majority of parents supported Democrats this year amid inflation and cost of living concerns.  Voters in Arizona and Nebraska rejected men in women’s sports Despite the blue wave, voters did not support transgenderism on Election Day.  Arizona and Nebraska approved ballot initiatives to protect women’s sports. The measures prohibit men, pretending to be women, from participating in women’s sports. Similar proposals are set to pass in the Democrat strongholds of Colorado and Washington state. Early counts also show Coloradans supporting Proposition 135. The measure would protect children from transgender surgeries.  Supreme Court might hold Colorado accountable for religious liberty The U.S. Supreme Court heard a religious freedom case on Tuesday. Colorado is trying to keep Catholic preschools out of a publicly-funded preschool program. Participating schools must be open to students regardless of their so-called sexual orientation or gender identity. The Catholic organizations will not sign off on this. The Supreme Court’s conservative majority signaled support for the religious preschools during the hearing.  Arkansas is the most pro-life state Americans United for Life released its 2027 Life List last week. Arkansas won the top spot. Listen to the announcement from Sarah Zagorski

It’s Thursday, November 5th, A.D. 2026. This is The Worldview in 5 Minutes heard on 140 radio stations and at www.TheWorldview.com.  I’m Adam McManus. (Adam@TheWorldview.com) By Jonathan Clark Canadian pastor sentenced for expressing Biblical views Authorities in Canada sentenced a pastor to 12 months of probation for expressing his Biblical values. Back in 2023, Pastor Derek Reimer protested a “drag queen story hour” for children at a public library. Officials have targeted him since then with arrests and jail time. He’s now on probation and cannot use social media.  Pastor Reimer told LifeSiteNews, “I trust the Lord; the battle belongs to Him, and there’s a process to some of this and needs to be exposed, needs to be talked about.” Send a polite, 4-sentence note to the Canadian Ambassador to America, Mark Wiseman, urging him to defend the right of pastors to express their Biblical views. Address it to the Canadian Embassy, 501 Pennsylvania Avenue NW, Washington, DC 20001. Vice President Vance blames Iran War for blue wave Here in the United States, Democrats took control of Congress in Tuesday’s midterm elections. Democrats gained seven seats in the U.S. Senate to win a 54-seat majority. They gained 28 seats in the U.S. House of Representatives to win a 229-seat majority. Liberals also gained five governor seats, notably flipping Texas from Republican to Democrat.  Democrat Abdul El-Sayed won Michigan’s U.S. Senate seat to become the first Muslim in the chamber. The Senate will also have its first open homosexual after Chris Pappas won in New Hampshire.  He faux married a man named Vann Bentley in February 2023. Oddly enough, Pappas co-owns a restaurant called the Puritan Backroom in Manchester. Daniel 4:17 reminds us, “The Most High rules in the kingdom of men, gives it to whomever He will, and sets over it the lowest of men.” Vice President Vance blames the election losses on the Iran war U.S. Vice President J.D. Vance blamed the election losses on the Iran war.  He wrote on X, “The reason we lost is the war. The president himself said so last night.” President Donald Trump expressed surprise over the results. He acknowledged the influence of the Iran war on the elections. But he thought the war was still the right thing to do.  President Trump ready to use the veto pen on Democrat proposals In comments by phone to Fox News, President Trump revealed that he’ll be ready to veto insane Democratic proposals and he is also willing to work with them on some things. TRUMP: “It's been done before, as you know, numerous times. It's a power of veto. It's one of the stronger powers that a president has. “They'll send over things that are insane, and I'll veto them. And after a couple of months of vetoes, they'll call and they'll say, ‘How do we get this stuff done?’ We'll work together. You know, I have a lot of friends that are Democrats, believe it or not.” Voters in 3 states embraced abortion vs. voters in another didn’t The midterm elections also featured four abortion-related ballot measures. Citizens in Missouri, Nevada, and Virginia voted in favor of abortion.  However, Idaho bucked the trend. Voters rejected Proposition 1 which would have effectively legalized abortion.   Blaine Conzatti, president of the Idaho Family Policy Center, said, “A broad majority of Idaho voters support our pro-life laws, including our Heartbeat law and the Defense of Life Act. This is what happens when Christians speak out and get engaged. WE WIN.” Two-thirds of churchgoers fail a Bible literacy quiz Lifeway Research reports two in three churchgoers fail a Bible literacy quiz. The survey asked thousands of American Christians dozens of questions about general Bible knowledge. The average respondent scored 51. Sixty-five percent earned an F, scoring below 60. Only eight percent earned an A, scoring 90 and higher.  Lifeway Research noted, “Perhaps unsurprisingly, those who attend church the most and read the Bible the

(Adam@TheWorldview.com) By Jonathan Clark Egyptian authorities arrest Christian for criticizing Islam Authorities in Egypt arrested a Christian last month for criticizing Islam. Sherif Wagih Fahmi is a 41-year-old Coptic Christian who works as an engineer in Alexandria. He recently expressed his beliefs online, opposing Islamic education in the country’s schools. His arrest follows many others. Officials have arrested 14 people since September for simply voicing non-Islamic beliefs. Fahmi’s sister, Emy, told Coptic Solidarity, “There is no freedom of belief or freedom of expression in Egypt.” Write a polite, 4-sentence note to the Egyptian Ambassador to America, Mohamed El-Molla, urging him to take a stand for the right of Egyptian Christians to express their convictions. Send it to the Egyptian Embassy, 3521 International Court NW, Washington, DC 20008. YouVersion Bible App adding 18 million subscribers each day It’s Global Bible Month. The YouVersion Bible App is challenging people around the world to read God’s Word daily this November. Last year’s challenge brought the app across a billion downloads. This year daily usage is up 13 percent, adding over 18 million app users each day. Bobby Gruenewald founded the Bible app. Listen to his comments to CBN News. GRUENEWALD: “We have people that created 30-day Bible plans. I think there's hundreds of our partners that have created special plans for Global Bible Month. We actually celebrate the Bible in Times Square [in New York City] and Piccadilly Circus in London and just different iconic places around the world.” Psalm 1:1-2 says, “Blessed is the man who walks not in the counsel of the ungodly . . . But his delight is in the law of the LORD, and in His law he meditates day and night.” President Trump ended funding to Israel Here in the United States, President Donald Trump ended funding to Israel as Americans headed to the polls. The U.S. will no longer send about $4 billion in annual aid to Israel. President Trump announced this during a telephone interview on Fox & Friends yesterday.  Listen. TRUMP: “Now, as far as paying Israel, Bibi Netanyahu and I have made a deal that we give Israel $4 billion a year, and we made a deal months ago that we're stopping, and at at their, they're fine with it because you know they become a very successful country. They don’t need it.” $12 billion spent on midterm elections Americans voted in the midterm elections yesterday as Republicans and Democrats fight for control of Congress. The 2026 midterm election is now the most expensive congressional election in U.S. history. OpenSecrets reports spending on congressional races reached nearly $12 billion this year.  Conservative groups outspent liberal groups by nearly $400 million. The Worldview will have an overview of the elections, the balance of power in Congress, and a look at some of the top races on the Thursday, November 5th newscast. Safe Haven Baby Boxes in four states More Safe Haven Baby Boxes are being installed across the country.  Built to protect vulnerable infants who can no longer be cared for by their parents, the baby boxes allow mothers to safely surrender their babies at local fire departments or hospitals. Once the mother has had time to leave the area, an alarm goes off, alerting the personnel of a child, who is then cared for and checked at a local hospital. Safe Haven Boxes has just recently added new Baby Boxes in Wisconsin, Iowa, and Missouri, with Texas planning to add another soon.  One such hospital to receive a new Safe Haven Baby Box was MercyOne Genesis Davenport Hospital in Iowa. Lauren Lovedy with MercyOne stated, “We have upgraded our Neonatal Intensive Care Unit. We have a pediatric unit. We have 24/7 neonatology. If a baby does need medical attention, we’re here to do that for

(Adam@TheWorldview.com) By Kevin Swanson and Timothy Reed Chinese Communists arrest 27 Christians China Aid reports that Chinese Communists arrested 27 Christians on October 18th in a raid on a house church in Jiangxi Province located in Southeastern China. Two leaders remain in custody. They were charged with having attended a short theological training course in Indonesia. High abortion rate and low fertility rate in United Kingdom Right to Life UK has issues a warning concerning sagging births in England and Wales — the lowest in 50 years. The report revealed that 32% of pregnancies end in abortion. That’s up from 20% just 15 years ago.  The pro-life group noted that things are about to get worse after the abortion-up-to-birth amendment to the Crime and Policing Bill became law earlier this year. Right now, the United Kingdom’s fertility rate is running about 1.39. That means that 1,000 women of childbearing age will only have an average of 1,390 children during their reproductive years. In order for women to replace the current population, those 1,000 women would need to have 2,100 children during their reproductive years. North Korean theft of $6.4 billion The FBI has identified the North Korean government as the culprit in what may be the largest crypto hack in history.  The bandits made off with $6.4 billion of stablecoin, through the crypto-exchange Binance. Shockingly, that would be about 18% of North Korea’s annual budget which is enough money to pay for 630 nuclear warheads.  As of Monday morning, Binance acknowledged $4.6 billion withdrawals from less trusting customers after the heist took place over the weekend. ChainAnalysis estimates losses of $17 billion per year in crypto frauds. The FBI’s numbers indicate that online cybercrime losses have increased from half a billion dollars a year in 2011 to $21 billion just last year. In the words of Nahum, “Woe to the bloody city! It is all full of lies and robbery. Its victim never departs  … who sells nations through her harlotries, and families through her sorceries. ‘Behold, I am against you,’ says the Lord of hosts.” (Nahum 3:1, 4b-5) Ways to protect yourself from financial fraud Protect yourself from fraud.  Never rely on a phone number displayed on your phone when the voice claims to be a police officer, a banker, or some other official. Do not trust videos or familiar voices as proof. Always be suspicious of urgency and secrecy. And never transfer money based solely on a call, text, or video. Trump celebrated Reformation Day and “message of salvation” For the first time since the days of President Herbert Hoover, the White House has issued a statement celebrating Reformation Day.  Saturday, October 31st marked the 509th anniversary since Martin Luther issued his 95 theses in Wittenberg, Germany in which he listed unbiblical positions of the Catholic Church. President Donald Trump said, “From the earliest days of our Republic, prayer and faith in Almighty God have stood as the foundation of our strength, the source of our unity, and the fount of our greatness.  This Reformation Day, I send my best wishes to the countless Christians across our country commemorating the Protestant Reformation and its enduring message of salvation by God’s grace through faith in Jesus Christ. “Five hundred years ago, William Tyndale—inspired by the work of Martin Luther—advanced the Protestant Reformation’s devotion to Holy Scripture through the publication of the first New Testament printed in English, shaping the language of the Bibles that would fortify the faith and resolve of America’s founding generation.”

(Adam@TheWorldview.com) By Adam McManus Christian family in India severely beaten by Hindu extremists A family in India has decided to leave their ancestral home rather than renounce Christ after police allowed a mob of more than 150 Hindu extremists, intent on killing them, to severely beat them, reports Morning Star News. The injuries that Vikas Salam and three others received in Chhattisgarh State’s Kanker District on September 21 required hospital treatment, as the assailants beat women, children and the elderly while police shockingly ignored their pleas for help. The mob attacked and beat three Christian families with sticks, vandalized their homes and threatened to expel them from the village because they refused to renounce their faith in Jesus Christ. Local officials also later pressured the families to recant their faith. Salam, age 24, said, “We have been following Jesus for the last 10 years. The villagers told us to either return to the Hindu fold or leave the village.”  Here at The Worldview we celebrate their bold faith. In Romans 8:38-39, the Apostle Paul wrote, “For I am convinced that neither death nor life, neither angels nor demons, neither the present nor the future, nor any powers, neither height nor depth, nor anything else in all creation, will be able to separate us from the love of God that is in Christ Jesus our Lord.” Join me and send a polite, 4-sentence note to the Indian Ambassador to America, Vinay Kwatra, urging him to speak up for the right of Christians to practice their faith without being harassed and beaten. Send it to the Embassy of India, 2107 Massachusetts Avenue NW, Washington, DC 20008. Halloween horror at U.S. stock market The entire U.S. stock market looked like a house of Halloween horrors on October 30th, driven by rapidly sinking tech stocks tied to the swelling Artificial Intelligence bubble, reports Futurism.com. The tech-heavy Nasdaq 100 — home of major AI stocks like Apple, Nvidia, Microsoft Corp, and Amazon — was down 2.6 percent, well on track for a $1 trillion drop, as NBC News observed. Losses were pushed by Amazon, which shed about two percent when trading opened Friday morning. In particular, Amazon’s capital expenditures for 2026 ballooned to $220 billion, much of which is tied to Artificial Intelligence. Friday’s bloodbath comes after shares for Google’s parent company Alphabet — a major bellwether for the Artificial Intelligence trade — plummeted by over 12.6 percent on Thursday. It was the company’s worst single trading day ever, and the second-largest single day wipe out of any company’s stock in history, obliterating over $500 billion worth of market value. The motion is all stoking fears of a bursting AI bubble, as trillions of dollars remain tied up in just a few top AI companies. Pollster discussed Michigan and Texas Senate races Matt Towery, a former Republican Georgia State Rep, founded InsiderAdvantage polling firm. In late 2014, he encouraged Donald Trump to run for the U.S. presidency, suggesting he would be a serious contender.  His polls were among the few to call the 2016 presidential race for Trump over Democratic nominee Hillary Clinton. Appearing on The Joe Pags Show, heard on 180 stations, he explained that the Democrat candidates do not have as much of a lead as the legacy media has been claiming. He referenced the Michigan U.S. Senate race between Republican incumbent Mike Rogers and his leftist Muslim Democratic challenger, Abdul El-Sayed. TOWERY: “What they're doing in Michigan is they're assuming that all Democrats are voting Democrat. And we're not seeing that. We're seeing a certain percentage split off. African-Americans, by the way, you got two groups of African-Americans up there. You've got very devout Christian African-Americans who I don't think are voting
