THEORY SABERS - https://theorysabers.com/ "Hayden Christensen is REPORTEDLY in the final stages of signing a multi picture deal with Disney and Lucasfilm, and the piece everyone is focused on is a standalone Darth Vader movie." I've been seeing chatter about this online, if it's true, here's my thoughts on the situation. Nothing here is confirmed. Lucasfilm, Disney, and Christensen have all stayed silent, and none of the major outlets have backed the claim yet. So this is a rumor, and I'm covering it as a rumor. But it's worth talking through, because of what it would mean if it turns out to be real. The gap between Revenge of the Sith and A New Hope is the most requested era in Star Wars. Vader hunting the surviving Jedi. His early years under Palpatine. The castle on Mustafar. Twenty years of stories that live action has barely touched and the tumultuous battle between Anakin and Vader are all stories to tell. And Christensen isn't the guy who shows up for a nostalgia cameo anymore like they've been throwing him into. Between Obi-Wan Kenobi and Ahsoka, he's become a fixture again, and he's said publicly there's a lot left to explore with the character after Episode III. Learn more about your ad choices. Hayden Christensen has been playing Anakin Skywalker for more than twenty years, and he just said that Dave Filoni understands the character better than he does. Speaking to IMDb at D23, Hayden was asked whether he gives the writers feedback on Anakin. His answer was that he doesn't need to. He said Filoni understands this character in some ways even better than he does, and that when he reads the scripts he's just elated with what he gets to do and say. He added that Filoni is still very collaborative, that he'll share an idea if he has one, and if it works they'll do it, so nobody is too precious about things and they get to explore. That comes right as Ahsoka Season 2 is on the way. The first trailer showed Hayden playing both the Force ghost version of Anakin and the Clone Wars era Jedi, which means he's getting to work through parts of the character in both worlds...no pun intended. Do you think Dave knows Anakin better than Hayden who was taught by George Lucas during the prequel trilogy? George Lucas was asked about Hollywood and movies today, and he told it like it is. Hollywood has a real issue with just making movies that have a proper story made for the sake of story telling... It's now all about focus groups and pushing a film out for quarter earnings. We've seen this with Star Wars under Disney and many more movies in today's time. We need change. Qui-Gon Jinn had a girlfriend. Her name was Tahl, a Jedi Knight he trained with, and in the old Jedi Apprentice books he falls for her, breaks the Jedi Order's rule against attachment, and lies about it to everyone including himself. It starts with a vision of her in danger that he hides from the Council and from her. I covered this in a video almost 8 or 9 years ago. When she goes undercover on a dangerous mission alone, he defies the Jedi Council to chase her across the galaxy, years before he ever defies them over Anakin. On the planet he finally admits the truth, that she isn't just a friend or a fellow Jedi, she's his heart, and the two of them pledge themselves to each other against everything they're supposed to be. Then the trap closes. Tahl is taken, and across the books that follow, the loss pulls Qui-Gon to the edge of the dark side for revenge. It's the same trap that takes Anakin down, and Qui-Gon lived it first. This is yet another example of how amazing Qui-Gon Jinn would have been to help Anakin Skywalker through his life and guide him in all his struggles with his Mother and Padme. Ian McDiarmid who played Emperor Palpatine / Darth Sidious has revealed that him and George discussed a Palpatine show back in the day before he sold Lucasfilm. The show would encompass Palpatine after Revenge of the Sith (maybe some flashbacks of Plagueis would be cool) and we would have gotten a more drama style show on the politics of the Empire. Allegedly, Star Wars has lost 85% of its fan base, but that's only when comparing The Force Awakens box office to The Mandalorian and Grogu. Clever article title but to be fair, that's just not accurate. While Disney Star Wars has definitely alienated its core audience over the years, I don't think it's a fair comparison being made here. I do think, however, that more fans are being pushed away with bad stories by the day, than what Lucasfilm will admit to, at least under Kathleen Kennedy. Hopefully, Dave Filoni has a plan going forwards which we will discuss in the next video. Karl Urban explains that fans who talk about shows and movies that didn't go the way they wanted shouldn't be called toxic (if they are just speaking normally), but rather should be seen as passionate fans who CARE about the media being created. I think this is such an important topic in today's era since everything is so politically charged to the point that you HAVE to like or dislike something in order to tow in line with the machine. It's really simple. Acolyte star Manny Jacinto says that the people who didn't like the show are just keyboard warriors and the loudest ones online. I didn't like the show. I thought it was an absolute mockery of Star Wars, and so did many others. I provide detailed reasons as to why this show was objectively bad in the Star Wars mythos. Vader Episode 2 is complete. Obsession has grossed over 200M at the box office, becoming more profitable than The Mandalorian and and Grogu while costing a fraction of it. It was a spin on 'be careful what you wish for" in a somewhat "romantic" focus between Bear and Nikki. I personally think Bear was the one to blame for all of this. While his intentions weren't to get this dark, he did play with autonomy and when she asked to be freed from this curse, he simply walked away, sealing himself as the true villain of the story. Marcia Lucas has passed away. She edited the original Star Wars and won an Oscar for it alongside Paul Hirsch and Richard Chew. She's the one who told George Lucas to let Obi-Wan die, cut the Death Star trench run out of 40,000 feet of footage, added the ticking clock for the Death Star firing on Yavin, and kept the kiss for luck between Luke and Leia. The Mandalorian and Grogu has officially hit a record (according to online publications) for the biggest Star Wars box office drop off in its second week. With about 70% of a dip, The Mandalorian and Grogu doesn't look like it will make it's money back, at least from the theatrical release. Merchandise and Disney Plus surely will cover the cost over time, however this doesn't seem to be a box office success, unnfortunately. I blame the previous direction that Kathleen Kennedy steered Star Wars and Lucasfilm in which led us to right here, apathy. Let's see how they can fix this issue going forwards. I want Star Wars to always win, and in order to do that, we must have stories that are meaningful and make you want to go see these films. We need concrete planning, outlines and story development. The Mandalorian and Grogu was made to put a movie out that stands alone and isn't tied to anything else in the overall story. That was the intention. I think it's fine, however to be the first film in 7 years after how Mandalorian Season 2 took us to such great heights, then crashed them in Season 3, then gave us this film, seems a bit of a pointless Star Wars roller coaster ride to me. I was fine with Mandalorian and Grogu, but I am tired of them making stuff that's so surface level. The Mandalorian and Grogu movie was a side quest with a theatrical budget. Nothing else to really breakdown or go deep with. More or less pointless in driving the characters to new heights or new depth that we haven't seen before. I believe this movie was meant to be just another fun adventure side mission without encroaching on any plot points or expanding any character development whatsoever. Overall fun and entertaining in the first half, the second half dragged and made me question the run time. In Darth Maul Shadow Lord episode 7, Maul lost against eleventh brother and Marrok. Where Ahsoka defeated The Crow (11th brother) so easily. Why is this? Considering Maul was already close to Ahsoka in skill and fighting abilities, how did he not just take 11th brother out just as easily as she did, without a weapon even... I've been very composed until this vid. This last idea to have had Yoda be complicit and cover up all the Jedi who fell to the Sith in The Acolyte is the biggest WTF I've ever come across, and that is out of a show that is literally made to self impose ideas before George Lucas' prequel trilogy. The Acolyte has done a lot of things beyond just degrading the mythos George made, or calling passionate fans who respectfully didn't like the show, names, but to go ahead and try to change Yoda's morals that clashes with the narrative of episode 1 really questions what the F is going on at Lucasfilm that these are even possibilities and had the opening shot with Yoda learning about all this at the end of the Acolyte. It bothers me and this kind of creative freedom should not be so loosely given out with show runners who do not understand the power they've been given.
