I’ve always loved a good ghost story, and apparently, so do all of you because my TikTok blew up with the wildest, creepiest real-life experiences people have shared. This podcast is just me, reading the stories you’ve sent in, chatting about the weird stuff that happens when no one’s watching, and maybe freaking myself out along the way. If you love the paranormal, the unexplainable, or just fancy a spooky story while you do the dishes, you’re in the right place. Let’s get into it.

    In this slightly different episode of The Darkling Chronicles, I sit down with Elliot for a fascinating conversation about dreams, consciousness, premonitions, spirituality and the bigger questions surrounding life and our experiences.

    Elliot explains how he uses trance to explore dreams, going beyond the obvious imagery to search for deeper meaning and consider what our dreams might be showing us about situations we're experiencing in waking life.

    We also explore the idea of connecting with a higher power or deeper source of guidance, particularly when we're facing difficult situations or searching for answers in our lives.

    🔥 The fire is crackling, the lights are low... and I've got some seriously creepy ghost stories for you tonight.

    This week on The Darkling Chronicles, i'm trying another atmospheric soundscape as I settle in beside a crackling fire to read a collection of real paranormal stories.

    And then there's Tapey.

    A terrifying old ventriloquist doll with matted, greasy hair and a broken jaw held together with masking tape. Yes. He is every bit as delightful as he sounds. I thought this only existed in a Goosbumps episode 🫨

    Tapey features in one of tonight's stories, alongside plenty of other strange, unsettling and downright creepy encounters.

    So get yourself comfortable, stick your headphones in if you fancy it, and enjoy the sound of a crackling fire while I take you through another collection of stories from people who claim to have experienced something they simply couldn't explain.

    As autumn begins to creep in and the darker evenings return, I wanted to experiment with a different kind of episode.

    So get comfortable, turn the lights down and listen to the rain while I read a collection of real paranormal stories from Alan Tigwell's book, accompanied by a gentle ambient rain soundscape.

    No investigations. No dramatic sound effects. Just the rain, a collection of strange encounters and me telling you ghost stories in the dark.

    Whether you're listening with headphones, winding down for the evening, reading, working or, for the particularly brave among you, falling asleep… I hope you enjoy this slightly more atmospheric side of The Darkling Chronicles.

  • 38 - #038 - Whatever was beside his bed… it smelled like it was rotting🫨

    Tonight on The Darkling Chronicles, I've got three real paranormal stories for you, and there are some seriously creepy moments in this one.

    We begin with a family who slowly realise that their daughter may have accidentally brought something home with her… and whatever followed her doesn't seem particularly keen on leaving.

    Then, a childhood sleepover takes a terrifying turn when a boy wakes to something pulling the duvet from his bed. What he sees is bad enough, but it's the rancid smell accompanying the shadowy figure that makes the encounter even more disturbing.

    And finally, imagine seeing your friend, thinking nothing of it, and carrying on with your day…

    Only to discover that when you saw him, he was already dead.

    Tonight's stories were written by Alan Tigwell, and I'd like to give Alan a massive thank you for allowing me to share them with you. I absolutely loved reading these and we'll definitely be returning to Alan's stories for more episodes.

    Tonight on The Darkling Chronicles, we're heading back into the darker corners of the internet for another collection of allegedly true paranormal encounters...and there are some absolute horrors in this one.

    A family laughs about the ghost haunting their apartment until something happens beside their four-month-old baby's cot.

    A man grows up in a house with decades of unexplained activity, including a smiling figure watching from an upstairs window.

    A seven-year-old hears a mysterious voice tell him not to walk down the stairs... moments before something violent happens below.

    And one man meets an old friend for lunch before suddenly remembering one rather important detail...

    His friend is dead.

    We also have shadow figures, apparitions, unexplained voices, a VERY jealous ghost and plenty more things that frankly have no business wandering around people's houses.
