#overcomingfear #selfdoubt #transformedlife
I never really knew how much fear ruined my life until I started working on my connection with my emotions, and my defensiveness, my anger, my moving away, not saying things to people I was thinking about not wanting to solve conflict were all rated related to my fear. And when I was afraid, I just either shut down or are powered in, did things that really weren't who I really was, because I just didn't want to experience fear. Most of us don't recognize that fear is the silent killer of relationships, the silent killer of vulnerability, it is our inability to recognize that we are afraid when we really are just behaving in ways that are editing who we are. Because there's something we don't want to experience. Like, we're afraid that we're not going to be successful, or someone's not going to like us, or whatever those silly things are, right. So fear is a powerhouse, of actually influencing so many things that we do. Now we do need to have certain level of fear because we need to be afraid of fire. We need to have courage when things show up that we're afraid of. But I'm talking about the low level of fear when you are actually editing your behavior because you're afraid of something. Overcoming This is being aware of what you're thinking about or acknowledging the fact that you simply are afraid that you can't predict the outcome that you don't know what's going to happen. So recognizing that fear has a big effect on you, really helps you become more powerful and choosing not to be afraid. In other words, the next time you feel like you can't do something, it's just because you're afraid. And just acknowledging that you're afraid will help it go away. So today, let's start acknowledging that I'm afraid and that's how we overcome it. I love you. I'm Dan Clark.

Today we're talking about the power of positivity. Hello, I'm Dan Clark and welcome to two minutes of encouragement with transform life. You know, we're going to be talking about the power of positivity this week. That means that it's not about not just about seeing the glass half full. It's about practicing a positivity mindset that actually can transform everything around you. Because remember, how you see things is how they really are on the inside of you. And when you choose to focus on the good, you open the door to possibilities that you didn't even know were there. You become a magnet for opportunities and people will want to lift you up as you're lifting them up. Remember, positivity is contagious. It spreads generously, watch the world around you transform as you become more positive. Let's make today incredible, one positive thought at a time

Well, we are at the end of January. And I often hear this comment that they just can't wait for spring or summer to get here, because a lot of us don't really like the cold weather. And that's because there's something about it that just doesn't really feel heartwarming. And it's just whether we don't like, and I suppose there's nothing wrong with that, especially if you're raised in warmer weather. Now I'm in the Midwest. And that means that we get cold weather and warm weather depending on which is coming from the north, or what is coming from the south. So our weather is really not really consistent, even though we are in the Midwest, but we have a lot of winter, and we have a lot of hot summers. However, if you started thinking about how life is similar to that, there are times in life when it is just wintertime, you know, like nothing seems to be happening. Like there's this idea that you can't get things accomplished, or it's hard to get out of bed, or you just don't feel motivated to exercise or to eat right, or even just a, I don't know, call a friend to spend time with someone to do something that's enjoyable. That's not unusual during this winter time. And it's really, actually pretty normal, I believe, because we really don't like cold as a rule. Now, here's something I'd like you to be thinking about. If your life is like that, if you have periods of time when it's really difficult for you is because typically, there's something going on that we don't really recognize on the inside of us. And that can be very difficult. One of the things that I found that works really well for me is to spend time talking to someone about what I'm thinking about, did you know that if you are openly expressing the thoughts that are on the inside of you, that kind of releases that energy, now can be just a short conversation, 20 minutes or less. But if you truly talk about the things that are in the on the inside of you, it really helps clear up some of that negative thinking. And it helps also us become more motivated. Now that you need to be talking about the negative embed stuff that's happening in your world, but it's talking about how you're experiencing it. And then if you are talking to someone who isn't talking to you, or they're not giving you feedback, they're just letting you talk. That is the best way because when you are expressing what you truly feel without someone either interrupting you, or telling you what they're thinking it really helps a lot. So be a great listener to someone and also tell someone what's really happening on the inside of you and see if you notice the difference. I love you. I'm Dan Clark.

I've become very aware that I cannot change things that I cannot see. And we all know exactly what that's like. That means that if I don't really know what's happening, I can't change it, I can't see those things. And once I become aware of what's happening on the inside of me, I can actually change it. Most of us have a tendency to want to change the things on the outside of us, we want that person to be good or to behave or to not harm us, we want the world to be the way we want it to. We have so many things that we want to change about the world around us. What I'm saying is, is that the real change happens when you are aware of how you can change how you react to the things in your world, how you change how you see them. Because once you change the way you see it, and then you actually are aware of how you're reacting, then you can change how you see the world and the world will actually change for you. Because you can be more kind, you can be more gentle, you can be less reactive. It's all about being aware of what's happening on the inside of you. So today, let's focus on what you're doing, how you're reacting, what you're thinking about, and become aware of how you can move away from how you're thinking about you and how you're thinking about others to be become a more kinder, more gentle, more self aware person. Hi, love you. I'm Dan Clark.

If today was going to be one of your most perfect days, no matter what you have to do, what would you actually do today? How would you make it one of your most perfect days? Well, I've been practicing this for a while, by slowing down and paying attention to the things that I need to do, like not picking my phone up in the morning, not looking at my email until the afternoon, making sure that I have time to really pay attention while I'm driving my truck going somewhere, saying hello to people when I see them when I'm in town or in a grocery store, waving at people actually trying not to have a dialogue in my head about what's happening and just being present. And also making sure that I know what I'm doing each moment. In other words, trying to get out of automation, that automaticity that we all have on the inside of us, we just automatically go through those things. You know, like, for example, I had a couple of bananas for breakfast. And I just noticed as I was opening them up the texture and how they, I bruised it when I opened it up. It was kind of fun noticing that I had an apple for lunch yesterday had steak for dinner last night as I was eating and I was noticing how wonderful it tastes as I put each bite in my mouth was having wonderful conversations with a couple that I was eating dinner with. So your willingness to be absolutely in the moment creates this idea that you're present. And then you actually can have the most wonderful day because the most wonderful day is right now. It's not tomorrow, and it wasn't yesterday. So be more aware of what's happening around you. Be intentional and choose to do the things that you want to do by being focused and present with them. I love you. I'm Dan Clark.

want to know what the difference is between an addiction and a habit. Well, almost everyone that I asked this question to says the same thing. Well, an addiction is something that is an outside behavior that you're doing that you can't stop. Well, so it's a habit, right? It's an internal behavior that you can't stop. Now, there are life altering addictions, obviously, those are hard addictions. And then there's soft addictions, things that you do consistently, like, spend way too much time on Facebook or tick tock. Now, if you have a habit or an addiction, that you want to stop, the reason that those things are so difficult to stop is because we are not aware of the energy that goes on the on the inside of us that creates that addiction or that habit. In other words, you're not thinking, when we are able to think about what we're doing, we're less likely to do that behavior. Like we wouldn't choose to do something that's mindless, right? Usually when we're doing something mindless, like a soft addiction, like spending too much time watching TV, or like I said on Facebook, it means that we are mindlessly not present. When you are more present, and you're thinking about what you're doing, you're less likely to do an addiction that creates difficulties for you later on. So here is what I'd like you to be thinking about when it comes to your habits or addictions. Think about why you're doing them. Just sit and think about them. And when you catch yourself getting ready to do a habit, or an addiction, even though it might not be life altering, think about what is it effect on your life? What's enough, what's its effect on your life, and how is it affecting you doesn't really create the kind of person that you want to be now sure we want to be entertained. But in reality, spending way too much time doing things that are mind numbing means that we're not present and it steals from us the ability to have joy and happiness, joy and happiness comes from being present, not from doing mindless activities. I love you. I'm Dan Clark.

Making decisions can be very difficult, especially if they're a decision that has long term effects. And often, we are uncertain what to do I have been in that place. And I know you have to, well, here's something that maybe we could try that I heard about. And I kind of like this idea. And that is that think about first of all, when you have a decision to make, about what is it? What would life be like seven days from now? Yes. If you make a decision today about something that you want to do, or something that you want to need to do something that you may need to make a decision about, then if you forward seven days, what would it look like? What would life be like in seven days? isn't something that you'd be glad about? Something you'd be ecstatic about? Or something that maybe you will regret? Or you wouldn't like? So what would it be like if you made a decision today, seven days from now, here's the second part of this. Fast forward five years or 10 years? How would this decision affect your life? five or seven years from now? Now, often, our decisions don't have an effect long term. And sometimes they really do. But if you think about what it would be like seven, I mean, sorry, five years from now, or 10 years from now, then that puts it in perspective, doesn't matter what decision it is, it could maybe it's not going to really affect long term. If it is going to affect the long term life that you live, then maybe you should think about it in a different way. So learning how to put things in perspective, and pay attention to your gut on the inside can make a big difference on how well your life goes. Because remember, we live in two year and five year cycles. That means that the decisions that you made 10 years ago, and five years ago is how your life is going today. And the decision that you made two years ago is just now becoming fruitful. So if you practice thinking about forward, how your decisions affect your life going forward, it's a lot easier to make better decisions. I love you. I'm Dan Clark.

I know we've talked about the heart brain connection before. But I want to talk about the gut brain connection. There's some research out that came out a few years ago, talking about how important the gut was in connecting with a truth of what's going on around us. In other words, our gut kind of knows when things are right or wrong, or when things aren't going the way that they should be going. Or when things are going really well. I mean, no, there's that gut. This, you wish this hadn't happened, or there's this butterfly, that you are excited about what's happening. That's because our gut is our most mammalian brain type of connection, it connects with the deepest part of who we are. So learning how to pay attention to your gut reaction can make a big difference in how often you are right or wrong about decisions that you're making. You are so cognitive, we think so much in our current world, that we just use our brains all the time to figure things out, when in reality, our bodies know a lot more about what's happening than we do. That's because our bodies are connecting with that energy in the world instead of us thinking about it. And again, if we're just thinking about it, we're missing out on some great wisdom that helped us stay alive for all these years. So I have an idea for you. How about if we do something that might make it a little bit easier to listen to our gut, I heard this the other day. And I love this idea is called six breaths. What that mean? It means is if if you take six really deep breaths, and breathe in through your nose and out through your mouth, really deep pan, and then and then out six of them, and then listen to your gut, you're more likely to truly hear what's happening on the inside of you. And whatever the first thought is that you have really pay attention to whether it's the right one or not. And I tell you, I'm pretty sure most generally your gut is going to be right. When you're taking these deep breaths, what you're actually doing is you're suspending your thinking and connecting with your body and then listening to your gut. So again, if you want to make really wise decisions, if there's something that you need to make a decision about, try this. Take six really deep breaths in through your nose out through your mouth, and then listen to your gut and the first words that come to your brain are probably accurate. I love you. I'm Dan Clark.

Every one of us at one point, we're a child and children can be so silly. You know, they do things that are creative. And they can imagine, you know, just a rolled up piece of paper being something that's very important like a sword, or they can be riding in a toy car and pretend like they're going on to the moon and all kinds of silly things. And I know that you did things like that too, when you were a child. So here we are adults, and we are always acting like adults. But inside us is that same creative silliness. So the challenge for the day is to be thinking about what you can do to be silly or be creative for the day. It will be so much fun, it will brighten your day and also will help you connect with the things that you used to do and maybe even in joy, the way that you can be more childlike. And maybe those that are around you will enjoy it also. So brighten your day and do something silly or creative today. I love you. I'm Dan Clark.

I know you've heard this before that opinions are like trash cans, and they all stink. And I'm gonna say that's true also. But here's something that I want you to practice for me. And it's an assignment for today. And that is to not have an opinion. What that means is is to not share your thoughts, things that you're opinionated about. And here's why. Because when you have an opinion, when you have a thought, or something that's just really important for you to share in a conversation, what that means is, is that you're actually judging the other person as being wrong. Now, you can argue with me about this point if you want to, but I'm probably right, that when you have a charge, and you feel like it's really important that you say what you're thinking, you're actually creating the idea that you're more important than they are, or you want to convince them about something that's true. And no one's going to be convinced, by your opinion, really, you know, I have ideas and thoughts by very seldom do I have real opinions, because none of us really know anything, for sure. I mean, there's so many things that we can't prove. It's just the idea or our past experiences that causes us to have strong opinions. Again, so the assignment is to not have an opinion today, don't share your thoughts. When you feel it's really important. Hold on to them and don't share them. Here's why. It will bring more happiness and joy to you. It will lower the negative energy in the moment, you'll have more peace, it actually will bring bring life to the conversation. And on top of that the other person may actually like you, even if you disagree with them, don't have an opinion and see how that feels on the inside. Now, the second part of this is that if you have an opinion, and you hold on to it, something happens to the inside of you. What that means is that you actually release the energy eventually, and you'll actually feel better, I promise. So practice. Have a new opinion today and see how it goes for you. I love you. I'm Dan Clark.

When you think of what you don't want, do you compare it to something that you don't have? For example, do you say I sure wish I had a better car. And yet, what that really means is that I do not like the car I have. If you say I wish I were happier, could it mean that you're really saying, I do not like how life is going, if your dominant emotion is what you do not have, believe me, you will get more of what you do not have. That's because your emotions are rewarded, not your words. So just saying what you want doesn't work. It's called faith. If you want a better life, then you have to choose to feel the emotions that you want to add before you have them. Most of us wait for things to show up to make us happy. But actually, if you're happy before things happen, you'll get more of what you like, because happiness preceding the event makes you happier. Why do you wait for an event or something to happen to be happy, you can choose to be happy, you can choose to feel joy, you can choose as if those things are already true, even though they're not. Because that's called faith. And when you do that, it creates an amazing thing on the inside of you. You actually draw more and more of that happiness and joy and the things that you're wanting to you. That's because it actually is manifest when you have the emotions in advance. Because again, your emotions are rewarded. That's how I meditate. I feel as if it's already true. And it manifests in my world. Hi, love you. I'm Dan Clark.

Did you choose joy and happiness today? Yes, I'm really serious about this. Did you choose joy and happiness? Or did you choose to be unhappy about the things that are happening around you? Now we all have things that we don't like that happen. I mean, sometimes that driver is just driving too slow. Or maybe the blinker on your truck doesn't work. Or maybe you get to the grocery store what you really wanted wasn't there? Like he can you choose to be okay with the things that you can't change? Can you choose happiness about the alternative, which is maybe you can get your blinker fixed tomorrow? Or maybe that person is driving slow for a reason? Or maybe those words that were said to you? Were really not about you. But there was that person was just releasing their own negative energy. But can you be happy? That's the fact that you could be that friend for them as there's things saying things that they need to get rid of? Can you choose happiness and joy more often? Well, yes, you can. It's called Raising the way you think about life, raising your energy, not being fake, but letting go of things that you cannot change. It's just true. And when you raise the energy on the inside of you, and you choose happiness and joy more often, including being more kind and gentle, being more forgiving, more tolerant, more accepting of what's happening around you. The magic begins to happen on the inside of you, you smile more, life goes a lot easier. And you don't have to worry about things not going the way you want them to because at some point, it doesn't matter. It's just true. That's how things are. So you're learning how to choose joy and happiness more often by being more kind, and gentle and tolerant and forgiving. I love you. I'm Dan Clark.

I was having an interesting discussion with a client today about the words, it's just true. And it is, it's just true. That means that things are just true. That's just what he did. That's just what she said, that's just what's happening. That's just what we're seeing in the world, it is just true. That simply means that you can't change those things that are just true, right. And if we can't change them, then our willingness to accept them as they are relieves the energy of wishing things to be different. And if you're always wishing or wanting things to be different, there's no joy in that. Joy shows up and we accept what's true. And we lean into the things that are working the way that we like them to. And we also let go of the things that we don't like that are happening that we can't change, and we accept them as true that actually creates joy and happiness, because then we're not pushing against them. Now there are things that we can influence. But those are minimal based on what's happening around us. The most influence we have is how we feel about things. And if you start choosing to look at those things as Yup, they're just true, and not making it a negative event. You will change how you feel and you'll also change the energy around you talked about this yesterday just a bit. But when you raise the energy around you, when you are more happy about what's happening or you accept that is just as true. You naturally let go of the negative energy on the inside of you. So practice that today. It's just true. I love you. I'm Dan Clark.

mental discipline is something that our culture doesn't talk about very often because it's very difficult mental discipline would be to delay gratification internally. Or to tell yourself No. Let me give you an example. No, I'm not going to think those thoughts right now. No, I'm not going to be angry about that right now. No, I don't need to be unkind, I need to be more kind. They need to be more gentle, more forgiving, more allowing of things to happen the way that they are. Often we feel like that when we have an emotion, we need to share that what we dislike, well, there's nothing wrong with that. But delaying the emotion of negative or dislike, or anger or hurt or upset, actually can really help you become the kind of person that you want to be. Because what you're doing is you're learning to walk in a higher vibration of what's happening around you. You don't have to always express what's true, because yes, I might feel hurt. But it's how long I hold on to that hurt and how much I value that relationship that I'm in whether I'm going to express it or not. Because sometimes it doesn't really matter. You know, someone cuts me off in the, on the road, or if someone cuts in front of me in the grocery store line, it doesn't matter how hurt I am or how bad they are, what matters is how kind I am. And if I learn how to have a higher level of thinking, and being more gentle and kind first of all with myself and then with others, it's life changing. So practicing telling yourself No, you don't need to feel that right now that you can let go of it and move on is the most valuable gift you can give yourself because that way you're truly disciplining your mind and being the kind of person that you really can be, which is more gentle, more kind, less judgmental, more forgiving. I love thinking about the word magic or magical. And that's because there are some things that are just magical when you apply them, particularly to relationships. Now, when you appreciate someone, it actually helps them feel like you're thinking about them, saying something just as simple as I appreciate you calling me. Thank you for following up, or thank you for having coffee with me, or thank you for spending time with me. Thank you for saying hello to me. I appreciate what you're doing for the world. And for me and just for your family. Appreciating someone really helps them connect with you in a very magical way. And here's why. We all think about ourselves more than we think about anyone else. We are evaluating the world based on how we are experiencing the world. We're syncing emotions that are happening around us, and deciding whether we're doing well and how people are responding to us. So we're thinking about ourselves and evaluating who we are based on how the world is treating us and how we see things what our perception is. So when you start appreciating those that are around you, I mean, definitely connecting with them in a respectful or appreciative way. And using language like that. You get into their self talk and they feel like you are noticing them and you're seeing them and they want to be with you more often they will treat you differently. It's not anything that's hard to do. But it really deepens the connection that you have with everyone at whatever level that relationship is. So remember, appreciating someone is magical and creating a better relationship with them. I love you. I'm Dan Clark.

Yes, you can, I'm giving you permission today to stand tall and to be your best self. You know, this internal idea that we are worthy or important often escapes us. But there are times when you feel that way you feel like things are going well. And you can stand tall and have, I don't know, the idea that life is going the way that you want it to. And if you choose to feel that way, if you choose to think that way, you can have really the best type of day ever, because you're raising the level of your energy. You're committed to being and doing the best that you can, you know, the more that you commit to follow through on the things that you say you're going to, the more that you choose to be in integrity with yourself. When you say you're going to do something, you keep your word to yourself, it changes how you feel about yourself. And often this lack of internal integrity inside us, we don't really follow the things that we say we're going to do for ourselves. It creates this internal dialogue that we're not good enough and we're not worthy, or whatever those things are that we say to herself. So what I'm saying to you today is again, you can do this, you can stand tall, feel like that you're worthy and you're important, and walk in a way that you feel like that you are accomplishing what is laid before you in a very positive, healthy way. Because you can do whatever you decide that you want to do. And believe in yourself like you've never believed in yourself. I love you. I'm Dan Clark.

I know you can absolutely I know that you can that you can accomplish anything that you put your mind to. But let's talk about some times when you feel like that you can't, however, said to yourself that I can't I just can't I can't continue. I can't do this. It's too hard. Well, really, what you're saying is, is that I won't, I don't want to. And if you think about it from that perspective, what's really again, more true is we're getting into apathy. And it's just so hard to pull us out of that apathy. And a lot of that apathy comes out, because we haven't really been innovative, and trying to solve why we're stuck, or why we're not really doing as well as we want to do. And that's because we see things from a limited perspective, being innovative, and trying to solve our own problems or asking for help in certain areas can help us get away from this feeling that I can't or really help us being awakened to the idea that we're really saying that I won't, but I know that you want to, I know that you can. And under that you at some point really desired to have the things in your life the way that you want them. Now, they can be big things or little things, but we're talking about your willingness to say I can, and I will. And so I will be innovative, I will be creative, I will try to figure out a way to make this work. Instead of looking at the circumstances, look around you and use that deep energy inside you that God or that sage energy, and be creative and innovative and think about a different way to solve or to move through the things that are happening inside you. And I promise you, it will move you to I can I love you. I'm Dan Clark.

We all know this, that greatness is bound up in the heart of a child. What I mean by that is that we've all seen a child pretend to be a fireman, or a nurse, or a police officer or someone great that they're pretending to be, they are acting out the role. And they are being someone wonderful, someone great, that greatness is buried inside all of us, including you. Now, most of us have a tendency to lose that greatness as we get a little bit older. And that's because of the experiences that we have. And we begin to believe the things that we're hearing about ourselves. Now, as an adult, we know that we can't really be fake or arrogant about those kinds of things. But there is at some form, at some level of greatness buried in the heart of all of us, that means that you have greatness inside you something that you do really well that you should be proud of. That gives you this joy and happiness about you and your own self. That's called the greatness buried on the inside of you. So today, I want you to be thinking about what greatness is buried inside of you. How do you show up being your most wonderful person? How would you like to have the most wonderful day ever? Yes. How would you like to have the day? That is one of the best days ever? No, I'm not talking about you getting the day off or going on a vacation or planning on spending time with that wonderful person in your life. I'm talking about you changing the way you think about you to have the most wonderful day, wonderful days, our choices, it can be raining, it can be something sad that's happening, it can be kind of a difficult day, but you can choose to make it the most wonderful day. Because it's all about perspective. You know, things that are happening that we don't have control over, that we wish we had control over our energy drainers so having the most wonderful day is choosing to let go of the things that are draining your energy and choosing to make it something that is a gift or powerful or something that you can use to help yourself learn what you need to learn about who you are. Now, we can't be positive all the time, but we can do is let go of the energy drainers and have the most wonderful day ever because we are the most wonderful person ever. We're choosing to be wonderful. I love you. I'm Dan Clark.

We all have things that drain us. And we all have things that charge us, you know, it's those individuals that just drain your energy, or it's just very difficult to get something done. Because nothing's going your way, and it's just exhausting. And then there's those things that charge us, you know, you hear something on the news, or someone says something or something happens. And suddenly you have all this energy, not necessarily positive, that are thrusting you down this path of energetic energy about judging the circumstance drainers and charges are nothing more than energy on the inside of you, that you haven't let go of that you're judging circumstances, you know, when we want something that we can't have, or we want something to go the way we want it to when it's not going that way that's either going to drain us or charge us. Well, there's a way that you can deal with this. It's not really that hard. One of the ways is to practice not judging things. Seeing them as just true is just happening. There's nothing you can do about it in the moment. If you can't change it, why do you want to? It's not like really just acquisition thing and just letting go of things and just being case a raw case or raw. It's more about the fact that why does it bother you, because only the things that you can influence or effect should really be the things that give you a lot of energy, the things that you can't change, we have to practice letting go. So instead of being drained, and instead of being charged, I want you to practice letting go of the things that you don't like, just let go of them, letting go of them. Practice not being charged practice not being drained. By the way drained energy is when you are on overwhelm often, and that's because you haven't let go of all the things that are happening. So when something doesn't go, well practice letting go of it. I let go of it. I'm not gonna let this affect me. I love you. I'm Dan Clark.

Words have energy in them. We all know that's true. Because when we're speaking words, we know that we can either be happy, or joyful, as static, sad, hurt, angry, or just be peaceful words have a lot of energy on the inside of them. So learning to pay attention to the words that you're saying, is one way that we can help manage or be aware of the energy that we're expelling. Remember, we have no random thoughts. That means that when you have a random thought, or you're talking about the random things inside your brain, it means that there's energy that's connected to the words. Now, we can't always be super happy and super joyful. But what is important is to learn how to pay attention to the energy behind your words. And that way, you can sometimes head off the exhaustion that shows up because you're paying attention to the energy. Now here's another part of this, that's also important. When we aren't talking enough about what's happening. We're not expelling the unpleasant energy that's on the inside of us. Venting doesn't work. It's kind of like blowing hot air over coals to fire is still there. So when I'm talking about venting, when you're talking about the negative things that are happening in your world, I'm talking about the fact that discussing them or talking about them in a way that releases that unpleasant energy that comes with those unpleasant experiences. Remember, an unexpressed emotion never goes away. So we're talking about making sure that we're aware of the energy that comes along with the words and learning how to make sure that we are managing that energy, that we are focusing on the pleasant happy things and making sure that we're not avoiding the unpleasant things because how we let go of energy is by talking about it. I love you. I'm Dan Clark.

We often think that meditation is something that we needed to do for a really long time. And that's not actually true. Let me give you an idea of something that you can do today that can actually help slow down your brain. If you take just two minutes, start a timer, and sit quietly and close your eyes and practice thinking about nothing, just two minutes, that actually helps rewire your brain to slow down, it actually creates inside you, the idea that you're in control of your brain and your brain will begin to focus on the things that you want. Now, when thoughts come to your brain, I want you to push them away, wherever they are, but just think about nothing. Or just think about the darkness that you're saying. Here's why we do this. When we meditate. It really helps our brain recover from all the chatter that's on the inside of us. If you can do it for longer than two minutes, that'd be awesome. distracting yourself like this is a wonderful way to calm your internal voice and make sure that you're sitting quietly without a lot of distractions. So it's meditating for two minutes at a time. I love you. I'm Dan Clark.

That judge voice is lying to you. And maybe you should start saying to it that you're a liar. Yes. What would happen if that Judge voice got quieter? We all have this mood state where we are constantly in the same type of attitude or mood on the inside of us. And it's just a normal state. If you'll notice, sometimes when we are in a mood state, we're not aware of it, because it's so familiar to us. One of the ways that we can be aware of the mood state is thinking about the language that we're using, as we're noticing what's happening around us, as we're either reacting to it, or how we're judging it or evaluating it, like it's either negative or positive. And so subsequently, if you'd like to change that mood state, it's really not that hard. I talked about this yesterday, about changing our energy level. But there are some other things that you can do. Also, you know, most of your language is about how you're experiencing the world, the language inside you, you know, like, this is how I feel about this as this is what I think about this, or this is how I wish this was different, or no one cares about me or I'm never enough or things are never going my way. Well, that judgment language about how good or bad you are on the inside, is really what that mood state is like. Remember, we've talked about this again, in the past also, that emotions drive thoughts, and a mood state is actually an emotional state. Now, it's also impossible to always be in a good mood. But what I'm saying is in your common or your natural mood state, if you're aware of what you're thinking about, and you really would like to raise that you can create more happiness inside you by being aware of it. So here's something I want you to try in the next couple of days. When you notice that you're judging yourself, or you're judging someone else, or you're thinking about how unhappy things are around you, I want you to start focusing on changing that language to something more positive. For example, I'm just not going to let what's happening right now affect me, I'm going to say to these voices inside me it's not true. I don't have to judge or evaluate things as positive or negative. They're just true. Things are just true, this is how it is. And then choose to raise your energy level from wherever you're at to the next level up. Like if your energy level is at a three or four, as you're saying these words to yourself choose to raise your energy level to a five or six. I'm a four right now, but I want to be a five. Now in my personal life, I'm typically a seven or eight all the time, and I can get to 110. And that's really very energetic for me, because I have a lot of life inside me. So if you want to have a higher, consistent, happy, joyful mood on the inside of you, then let's practice talking to that voice is talking to you and telling it that you're going to not allow it to influence you and then also raise your energy level. Hi, love you. I'm Dan Clark.

Has someone said to you in the past? Are you okay? And of course we always answer yes, I am. Well, what's actually happening is, is that you might be in a mood state that you're unaware of, you do know that we all have a mood state, which is our normal state of how we think about the world. And if we're not aware of it, often it's very negative, or it's very condescending or judgmental. Now, this mood state is really an awareness of what we're thinking about consistently how we process or judge or are critical about the things that are going on around us. This mood state influences everything about us. If you notice that you're always that way, it's a mood state. And you know, you can actually change that mood state, it's not that hard. Now, being aware of your mood state is simply noticing the consistent thoughts you're having about the things that are going on around you, or how you judge them, or how you think about them. So for just a moment here, right now take a second and think about what mood state you're in right now. And what is that mood state is generally also related to energy, energy on a scale of one to 10 is how we're feeling in the moment. Like I'm alive and connected and can think clearly, or I'm kind of lethargic, and don't really care about what's happening, or I just don't really like the way life is going. Three or four hours go, I don't really like what's happening. And seven or eight is I'm can kind of move through it. Now consistently. I'm a seven or eight in my energy. And I don't have a lot of negative thinking or I'm not judgmental, mostly because I keep my energy level up. So if you'd like to change your mood state, let's focus on raising our energy level. It's really easy to do. Just think to yourself, you know what, I'm going to raise my energy level, take a moment, take a breath, go from a three to four, whatever you think you are right now and say, You know what, I'm going to be a five or six, and then your natural negative thinking will begin to go away. We're going to talk more about this going forward. And I want you to practice raising your energy level in the next couple of days. I love you. I'm Dan Clark.

Let's call that good person inside you, the sage. And let's think about you having a perspective of using that sage for every opportunity in life. That means that that sage person, this good person inside you sees things in a more accurate, healthy way and doesn't spin them into a very negative judging voice. The sage is the kind of person that comes up with ideas about how to solve conflict, or how to solve things that show up in your life. The sage or the good person on the inside of you loves life and loves those that are around them, understands that difficulties come and go. And that's just how life is. But it isn't always judging everything is good or bad or right or wrong. It just sees those things as an opportunity to learn and to grow. And also a sage doesn't judge its self either. And when you and I are judging ourselves, life is very difficult. Also, there's plenty of other things going on in the world besides us judging ourselves. So let's start practicing. I would love to have you start practicing and thinking about how to think about yourself in a new way. Like no be so negative towards yourself or towards things that are happening. Learn to spin it around and think about how wonderful it is that you're actually alive. And use the sage perspective at everything that you look at and things that are happening in your world. That sage percept perspective thinks about life as full of joy and happiness and goodness and sees things as just true and always looks for the best in everyone and the best in every situation. I know you can do it. I love you. I'm Dan Clark.

There are so many negative things in our world these days. And it's really hard to get caught up and all the things that we don't like that's happening around us. And there are lots of things that we do not have control over. And yet there are some things that we have complete control over. And those things include what you're thinking and what you're doing. Have an idea about the way things are going in your world. How about trying to turn everything that you're doing everything that's happening in your world, even the things that you don't control into a gift. That's because as you learn how to flow with life, and have more joy and happiness, you actually can change the way that your life is going. If we're always pushing against things, it just gets really more difficult. However, if you start thinking about things as a gift, when they show up, it's a way to learn an opportunity to change who you are to move toward your best self. All of us have this God's self, this kind of gentle person on the inside of us. It doesn't mean that we should be on it should not be rather unhappy when things happen. I mean, come on, things are going to make us unhappy sometimes. And there's nothing wrong with that. But if it's a gift, even though we're unhappy about it, that means that we can learn something from it and we can become our best self. Being who doesn't want to be their best self. It doesn't mean that we avoid difficulties and we can't solve them. It means that it's a way to solve them as a gift instead of pushing against it and using it to make it our best self. I hope you will begin to turn those things in your life that you don't like into gifts and learning opportunities. Hi, love you. I'm Dan Clark

What that means is, is that if you take five seconds and change your direction, you can actually get yourself motivated to do anything. So I want you to try this today. Patriotism should be really high today. But often we have a tendency to complain about the things that are happening. So how about if we practice this, but what happened? If you catch yourself thinking or saying or reacting in a negative way that you apply the five second rule you stop, you think for a moment you change your mind, rewrite the story, turn it around, in either not say not think or not participate in anything that's negative today, you choose to be as positive as you can be. Obviously, it can be difficult, but I promise you practicing this can make the day go really, really well. One thing that you can do that can make your therapist or life coach, whoever you see really happy is this one thing. And what is that, I'm gonna tell you right now I'm working with a couple. And I've been with him for about a year and a half now when they're doing super well. And today, we were kind of declining a little bit in some behaviors, because we've had difficulties that showed up in the relationship that they haven't been able to solve. And one of those is where a couple is almost always looking at the other person in the relationship saying, you need to do better. And that would help me do better. Well, here's the one thing that can help you do really well with your life coach, or your therapist or your counselor. And that is stop thinking about what they're doing, even though they may be creating some of the difficulties for you, and owning how you react. In my relationships. I always own what I'm doing first, this is how I'm thinking, this is what I'm feeling, this is what I'm experiencing, based on what just happened instead of talking about what they're doing, and how they're reacting, and how they need to stop doing it, and how those things make me unhappy. And here's why. When I own my behavior, it's the only thing I can change, right? Because I'm looking at what's happening on the inside of me. And so owning what I'm doing truly transforms every relationship. And you. So in this couple, I was direct, but I was telling him that when his children say to him, he's being mean, stop denying it. And he said, but they shouldn't be like, no, maybe that's true. They shouldn't be but you're being mean. And stop being mean, when you're doing things that are creating more irritation in them. And you're yelling and screaming at them because you're out of control. Because you just want things to go your way. I don't want to hear what they're doing. I don't want to hear what your wife is doing. I don't want to hear what you're saying. And he said, Well, I forget that stuff.
That's why your wife is sitting next to me with you. And we're having her help you see that your don't self have thanks very well, you don't talk about yourself right. Now he, because I've been with him for a while he didn't get unhappy about it. And she wasn't saying this is what he was doing. She just was reminding him what he was actually doing, not our perception, and the language he used. And he owned the fact that as he was bringing it up, he said, Oh yeah, that's what I did. So his thought blocking is he doesn't want to own what he's doing. Because that's how he was raised. He was raised to be angry and make sure that everyone else stops behaving so we can get what he wants. Now he's at some point is choosing and some point, he's not choosing his behavior, because when we're not aware of it, we're not choosing. So now we're starting on him becoming more aware of and his assignment was to be very aware of when he's unhappy about something and own it, owning it like this. I'm just really unhappy right now. I don't like how I feel about this. When you did that I got really mad and I'm unhappy. I don't like how I feel. I've got to figure out some way to not be so reactive to this. There's something about it that things don't have to go my way. And that's why I'm wanting to start talking and thinking about himself because again, if we can own our behavior on the inside of us, they'll really help us get a lot better. I hope you're learning from these. I love you. I'm Dan Clark.

We established a long time ago that shame is not a good thing. However, sometimes it just needs to be acknowledged as true. Today I had a very difficult experience with a client, that she was owning how she has been shamed based or so filled with shame her entire life. It has created patterns that have continued to this very day, and has been devastating in every part of her life, because she was never really present, because she was so filled with shame. And it modified all of her behavior, how she felt about herself, how she felt others felt about her, and what she thought about the world. And so she was never really fully present today, as she was acknowledging that shame, based on past experiences of her childhood. And as he was a young woman, she wept so hard, letting go of that shame, acknowledging that she didn't need to hold on to it. And it was about how others had treated her and how she had allowed and owned that shame to modify how she believed she's moving toward being her perfect self. We are perfect and whole already on the inside. But often, we have to do the work, which is called Dark work or deep work, letting go of that shame that's on the inside of us. Sometimes the only way that shame can go away is to cry about it, and to let the emotion show up. Once that shame is let go of it never returns again. Now the exciting part is, is that I am sure she's going to be really doing well in the next few months as we work through the patterns that have been established because of her shame. And I love you. How you treat someone, anyone, is how you judge them. Now they are either in your good bucket or your bad bucket. That means that depending on how they're treating you, or what you're thinking about them, they're either good or bad, that's actually judgmental. It's like we can't love everyone, how you treat certain people. And what you think about them, unfortunately, has a tendency to be how you think about and treat yourself. So if you have someone in your world that you're treating poorly that you refuse to see or spend time with him, and you just don't like them at all, and you have a lot of judgment toward them. That means that you judge yourself in some way with that same criteria. And that means that anybody in your world could get into that bad bucket if they treated you badly. So let's pay attention to how we do this criteria for people being good or bad. And we really need to stop practicing how harshly we judge ourselves. Loving someone is not always easy, but there's a difference between loving someone and liking someone. You know, I can say that I love you and not like you. But I can't say that I like you and not love you. I mean, it's kind of weird, isn't it? I mean, there's this weird thing about love that's so important. So learning how to love someone means that you're willing to be with them regardless of how they'd be heat behaved, but you don't have to like it. Sometimes, we even have to have a boundary with someone that we love. But love is not really a feeling it's a choice. Also loving someone sometimes means that we have to have a boundary but not being around them or not actually be in their world, and we cannot like them, but it just means that we really still need to love them. Our world doesn't really know how to love. So today practice loving regardless of whether you like someone or not, I love you. I'm Dan Clark.

Welcome to two minutes of inspiration. Father's day was yesterday, I have two children. And I had a wonderful conversation with both of them. And I actually had a conversation with my old father who died in October of 2002. That was, what 21 years ago. And it's interesting how we view fathers because how we are raised or the man that is in our life, and we're growing up that we call father has a big impact on the way that we think about not only ourselves, but how we think about the world. And if you didn't have a father that was with you, or around you, or someone that was an adult male that was participating in your early years, it also has an effect on how you are, well, my dad had an effect on all of us, because he was one of those. One of those guys that he knew everybody, he just was really kind and gentle, and his difficulties. He had things sometimes that weren't always just the best. But dad had a great heart. If he met someone at a restaurant, he would find out the name of their children and what they did for a living and their mothers and fathers. And he found out to how much they loved what they did, and their hobbies. And just was really an interesting man because he really cared about others a lot. And he was a pastor, and that is how I was influenced and how the things I live my life by and also influenced the legacy is even my children in some and my siblings also. So as you're thinking about I know this is after Father's Day, but as you're thinking about the way that we are addressing life often is directly related to the person who raised us our father, so let's honor that if it wasn't their honor the men or the man who was in your world while you're growing up, or honor those that are there. Now. Remember, our goal here is to make sure that we are kind and gentle with ourselves because any judgment that we have doesn't help us whatsoever. So love and be kind to everything in your past as best as you can. Hi, love you. I'm Dan Clark.

great friendships are hard to come by. And often we don't appreciate them the way that we could. Here's something I'd love for you to practice telling your friends how much you appreciate them being your friend. So right now, take a moment to think about the friends that you have and send one or two of them. Thank you for being my friend text or calling on the phone. It will mean an awful lot to them. I love you. I'm Dan Clark.

Every one of us has a kind, gentle voice on the inside of us. We'll call that our God voice or our sage voice we all do. That's because we all know how to be more gentle and more kind. We also know how to be sarcastic and make fun and be egotistical. And I'm not talking about that. I'm talking about being gentle and kind when you need to, you know, when someone isn't really being kind towards you, but you choose to be kind back. Everyone doesn't have to be perfect in your world and neither are you. So practice being kind and guess what? I believe it becomes the magical moment because when you are kind, the magic actually happens. I love you. I'm Dan Clark.
