  • 49 - Be Real with God: Melissa on Mental Health, Marriage and Motherhood.

Have you ever told God that there are other people on earth He could send trials to besides you?

That’s what Melissa did. After her unborn son was given a less than 1% chance of surviving, she did the only thing she knew to do: pray. But her prayers went deep, deeper than she knew possible, until she found herself at once trusting but also wrestling with God Himself.

Melissa’s story teaches us that when we’re anxious about everything, we can learn to sit with God’s sovereignty, mercy, and Fatherly care.

  • 48 - Whom Shall I Send? Peter on Obeying God’s Calling Despite Difficulty and the Joy of No Regret.

When God calls, do you squirm to get out of His call? When His finger points the way, do you try to run the other direction? Peter describes his heritage, his youth, and his ministry today in terms of a response to God. The question is not what do we want to do for God, but what do we do when God indicates to us what He wants us do.

Discussing themes of marriage, children’s ministry, and the rising pressures on this next generation of Christians. Peter shows that God is still calling people today to respond in radical obedience.

  • 47 - Into Life’s Future Fearless I May Gaze: AJ and Suzanne on Consecration, Marriage, and Hospitality

AJ and Suzanne reflect on how God honored early consecration, even the simple prayer, "Lord, whatever You are doing on earth, I want to be in the middle of it."

Now grandparents, AJ and Suzanne share how life becomes richer when we live for God's pleasure instead of our own, relating their experiences as hosts of the church through opening their home wherever they have lived in cities from coast to coast.

This conversation comes with decades of perspective, memories and stories of how God can take that prayer, use all things for His glory, and bless us in the midst of each of the chapters of our lives.

The line from the hymn “I take Thy promise, Lord in all its length” rings truer with each stage:
“Into life’s future fearless I may gaze

For Savior Thou art with me all the days.”

David, a successful physician-scientist, shares his experience of making God the center of his decision making each day. Having finished two decades of post-secondary education, David recounts his experiences as a single doctoral student, courtship and marriage, having children, raising them, and serving in a church community. When God and His purpose are the focal point of our lives, our ordinary, daily choices amount to much more: an extraordinary life journey on God’s pathway.
