In 1983, Ralph Baksi's Fire and Ice dropped and it tells the story of an evil queen and her son, set on conquering the entire world shortly after the ice age.Against them, stands one man (and help, so clearly not 'just' one man) from a destroyed village who takes it back to the evil frozen empire in this rotoscope styled film. A little over 40 years later, how does this bad boy stand up to the test of time - and was Teegra's body all natural?? Those are the big questions here.

Okay so..We were going to wait to do an episode on the entire series, but let's be real here: we love talking about X-Men (if the last 4 or 5 episodes weren't evidence enough of that). In the spirit of being the mutant FREAKS we are, here are the first 4 episodes of the new X-Men 97 series (that due to technical issues, is a week late #sorrynotsorry). PREVIOUSLY, ON X-MEN...We had to. You know that we had to. Anyways, X-Men 97 premiered yesterday, but instead of covering the first two episodes of that series, we decided to revisit its origins: X-Men The Animated Series from the 90s. Our beloved Batman The Animated Series ended in 1998, and a year later, the next version of the character debuted in Batman Beyond!  "Rebirth" is the two parter that kicked off season 1, and we cover it in here - all about the shoes it had to fill coming off of Batman TAS and how, at the same time, it being its own possible classic

Joe Hill and Gabriel Rodriguez created Locke and Key.  Coke and Dank now breakdown Locke and Key yet AGAIN!. Volume 3 for this story of magical keys and family drama and deep, dark secrets. And we'll keep going too, because this story is too much of a fun, and unique ride. We're back with the Locke's and all the tragedy they have been facing, from the continued fallout of their dead father and alcoholic mother and all the trappings of high schoolers trying to make it their own way. Not to mention the magic keys... This one is a throoowback. Watching this as a kid is a little different than watching it as an adult.As a kid, I saw a dude flying around in a super cool costume and bad guys a plenty trying to shoot him down and that was fun.As an adult, this one is very reminiscent of Iron Man (2008) but with the mob, old school planes, the mob, nazis and a dude flying around in a super cool costume.

The concept of this book is incredibly unique and it has a way of grabbing our interest on that alone. Do you know who Genndy Tartakovsky is? You better. WE DID A COMIC BOOK FOR FIRST GLANCE AGAIN!A little over the top but we were probably excited. Now that that's out of the way, let's take a look at Crypt of Shadows #1, Marvel's comic book version of Treehouse of Horrors.We get stories centered around Scarlet Witch, Hulk, Deadpool, and Daredevil, with a bunch of other characters and cameos. Of course the themes and faces we see get us to start talking about other properties and what could come in the future.

We're gonna be honest with you here... This is a movie. A movie from 1984. A movie from 1984 where a guy is transformed by barrels of toxic waste into some hulking monster who can sense evildoers and proceeds to break, beat or melt them with his bare hands. He also wears a tutu. The Maxx.What more can be said about this property. If you are not familiar with this comic (or cartoon) and you consider yourself a big comic guy (or gal), that title for you is debatable. Sam Kieth created something so unique, so interesting, so special here that you need to check this out. Not should; need. Is it a superhero comic? Is it a trip? Is it confusing and charming and disgustingly beautiful? Yes to all of those things.Read this book. Watch the show. Boy, did we ever looove the first volume of The Kill Lock; the story of four misfit robots who had been sentenced to a life linked together by a mark they wore. Fun fact: Gideon Falls Volume 1 was the 7th Arc Analysis we ever did, and the first one we made it's own drop. Even though that was years ago, Volume 2 was always on our minds to return to because this book stays with you. Atmospheric, tense, creepy, gripping, psychedelic, creepy... Did we say creepy yet? This picks up right where Volume 1 leaves off, following the conflicted Father Fred in one version of the town and the disturbed Norton in another. Poised as a great jumping on point for this specific version of the Valiant universe, "The Valiant" does some of that for sure. It introduces us to characters like the Eternal Warrior, Bloodshot, Geomancer and Unity as well. It definitely doesn't cover everybody, and outside of the first three we mentioned here, not many get a long look, but still, the introduction is there. As for the story, is it any good? Well it's all about how the Eternal Warrior has a duty to protect the Geomancer, and how he keeps failing to do so. Once upon a time, way back in the early to mid 90's, there was this super cool, super edgy cartoon where humans had turned into mutants and they all played sports. In these sports they played, it wasn't uncommon for an athlete to lose a limb or three, or come close to a brutal death. This was Mutant League. Despite our childhood subconsciousness' best efforts to lead us to believe that this show was incredible, it was not. It is not. It really isn't very good, but it did make us laugh.

This time around, for our 4th go at AxP, it's The Fox and The Bat: Zorro and Batman. Zorro enters his 101st year in 2020 and Batman his 81st, so it isn't hard to tell that these two have HISTORY. They also have a ton of similarities, and one is partially based on the other, hence their comparison in Across the Pages! The movies we cover are 1998's The Mask of Zorro, and 1997's Batman and Robin.The books we cover are Zorro: Sacrilege, and Batman: Gothic. Across the Pages (AxP) is our series where we take two similar-ish characters/teams/concepts from different creators or publishers and give their various forms of media a well-deserved spotlight. Spider-Man the Animated Series from the mid-90's is always going to hold a special place in our hearts because we grew up with it. The perfect spider-man personality and we can't help but compare other versions of the character to this one. The Mutant Agenda and Mutant's Revenge are episodes 4 and 5 in of the second season, and in this bottle cap, we go in on them. It's an epic crossover event of X-Men being pulled into Spider-Man's hometown of Queens. How could this not be a perfect review, right? We go in. Spider-Man the Animated Series from the mid-90's is always going to hold a special place in our hearts because we grew up with it. The first 2 episodes of the second season, we are introduced to the Insidious Six (Sinister wasn't allowed to be used on a kid's show - so says censorship). Add in the fact that Spider-Man is experiencing bouts of losing his powers, he has to take on a group of his rogues at once.
