Pontiac looks at the esoteric culture around Holy Roman Emperor Rudolf II and his court, including figures like John Dee, Tycho Brahe, and Rabbi Loew, the legendary creator of the Golem of Prague. Despite occultists’ fascination with Rudolf ’s successors, Frederick and Elizabeth, at the start of the Thirty Years’ War—and Rosicrucian efforts to make Frederick the first Protestant Holy Roman Emperor—the esoteric renaissance in Bohemia was short-lived. However, this wasn’t the end of Rosicrucianism.

Pontiac explores the movement’s impact on Oliver Cromwell and the English Revolution as well as individuals such as Robert Fludd, René Descartes, Elias Ashmole, Moritz the Learned, Paracelsus, and William Shakespeare. He then details the movement’s arrival in the New World, including the Rosicrucian activities of Connecticut’s alchemist governor, John Winthrop the Younger. Looking to the present, Pontiac shows how both pop culture and the modern psychedelic counterculture are informed by Rosicrucian ideas, showing the enduring legacy of this esoteric movement.

In March 2011, The Sunday Times ran an article on the discovery of a mysterious cache of palm-sized, ring-bound books made of lead. These lead codices, as they have become known, contain mysterious symbols and inscriptions. One tablet in particular features a portrait of Jesus and has preserved the seven seals that would have bound it together along its left-hand side.  

David and Jennifer Elkington photographed the books, brought samples to the UK for analysis, and assembled a team of eminent scholars to study them. In their quest to crack the code, the Elkingtons have been subjected to personal threat but they have continued the fight to ensure the world understands the importance of the codices, which may well pre-date the New Testament. Catherine (Katie) Ulissey, wife and research partner of geologist Dr. Robert Schoch, found her early years shaped by dance. Conservatory trained, she turned professional at the age of 16, performing with classical ballet and contemporary dance companies, and later transitioning to musical theater, performing on Broadway in a number of productions including the original cast of Andrew Lloyd Webber’s "The Phantom of the Opera". Her early childhood in Saudi Arabia sparked a lifelong fascination with ancient mysteries. Katie and Dr. Schoch met at a conference on the topic in 2007 and married on Easter Island in 2010. Together, they have co-authored works exploring ancient civilizations and their connections to cosmic events. Katie has contributed significantly to her husband’s research, including connecting Easter Island’s previously undeciphered rongorongo script to global “plasma petroglyphs” first identified by renowned physicist Dr. Anthony Peratt of Los Alamos National Laboratory. When I moved to the SF Bay area, a friend introduced me to Fu Yu-Tai, a renowned tui-na (traditional Chinese bodywork) practitioner in the Outer Richmond of the city. I became his first student, spending every Saturday from 8 am to 8 pm for a year studying under him and working with his patients. At the same time, I got a job working at Mayway, the largest Chinese herbal company in the country. Mama Lau became famous in Chinatown a couple of decades back, selling every traditional herb under the sun. She even started a restaurant cooking traditional herbal soups and dishes next door to their herb shop. What I learned there by the time they moved to Oakland was invaluable. I stayed there for 7 years, which got me through graduate school.Since acupuncture licensure, I've taught dozens of graduate courses at three acupuncture colleges for a decade and ran a program to help hundreds of graduates pass their state and national licensure board exams.

I also sat on the board of the California State Oriental Medical Association for 5 years, working with others in guiding policy and continuing education for our profession. However, I am most proud of teaching for 3 years at Contra Costa College. At this community college, the academic dean, Susan Lee, now a family friend, helped me set up a program for preventative health using the principles of traditional Chinese medicine. We saw people who reversed major alcohol and smoking addiction, chronic pain, blood sugar and hypertension issues, and anxiety and depression by utilizing the eight branches of Chinese medicine in their everyday lives. This was nothing short of miraculous in many cases and still inspires me today. My passions include creating community through the art of tea. For this, I owe a debt of gratitude to my late tea teacher, Winnie Yu, one of the first to bring artisanal tea to the West. She taught me to be generous and authentic, and that tea, like so many things, can bring us all together and dissolve differences.I continue to refine my clinical practice through ongoing studies with orthopedic expert Alon Marcus and Lonny Jarrett, a pioneer in integral medicine. Both have been awe-inspiring mentors and great friends on this amazing journey. Deborah Cartwright obtained a BA Honours degree in Modern Continental Philosophy and
Phenomenology and studied esoteric psychology through the Theosophical Society. Becoming a
published author on self-development and esoteric psychology in 1999, with her non-fiction book
The Inward Revolution, published by Warner, Little Brown and co-authored with popular novelist

My name is Geoffrey Drumm

I must admit that I have a bit of an Indiana Jones complex, and watching the Raiders of the Lost Ark when I was a kid first ignited my interest in Egypt .  In 2012, I began researching the Egyptian pyramids and some of the alternative theories about their true purpose as a serious side hobby.  One of my life’s greatest aspirations was to one day see these structures in person, and in 2017 I finally got the chance when my friend Bethany agreed to join me on my first week-long trip to Egypt.  I had a very specific, research oriented itinerary planned, but our guide Yousef had some unexpected surprised in store for us, including a journey inside the Red Pyramid of Dahshur.  Upon entering the pyramid, we became overwhelmed by the intense smell of ammonia and were able to see the chemical staining on the walls of the inner chambers.  The theories and story contained within this book are inspired by my experience inside the Red Pyramid and my time visiting Egypt, which led me to begin investigating the country’s ancient structures with a focus on chemistry.

A Harvard astronomer is suggesting that an interstellar object nearing Earth could be an engineered object — rather than a natural one — after making similar claims in in 2023 and 2017.Avi Loeb, the chair of Harvard's astronomy department, told CNN on Thursday that the 31/ATLAS interstellar object detected by the Deep Random Survey remote telescope in Chile could have an alien origin."The brightness of the object implies a diameter of 20 km, and there is not enough rocky material in interstellar space to deliver such a giant object per decade," Loeb said.

He noted that it takes "10,000 years for that much mass to arrive to the inner part of the solar system."Loeb also said that the object will be closest to the Earth when our planet is on the opposite side of the sun, meaning we won't be able to actually see it.

"We won't be able to observe it, but that's the perfect time for it to maneuver, and so we just need to watch it," he said.
He went on to say he thinks there's a chance that the object could be engineered rather than naturally occurring."I'm not saying it's an alien technology," Loeb said. "I'm just saying it doesn't look like a very common thing, and actually, the glow that is around this object, usually for comets, you see a trailing tail behind the object and here the glow from the Hubble Space Telescope image is actually in front of the object."

The astronomer said that "we've never seen such a thing" and noted that a comet wouldn't "have glow in front of it."He argued that it’s prudent for humanity to examine any interstellar objects entering our solar system, just to be sure they’re harmless.

“[31/ATLAS] may come to save us or destroy us,” he said. “We'd better be ready for both options and check whether all interstellar objects are rocks.”31/ATLAS made news in July after scientists confirmed it originated outside of our solar system, making it one of only three known interstellar objects discovered in our little slice of space.The object is massive, with scientists estimating it is more than 12 miles wide.Loeb theorizing a more enigmatic origin of the object isn't exactly off-brand for him. In 2023 he made headlines after he and a team recovered a meteor that fell into the Pacific Ocean. He claimed at the time that an analysis found previously unseen metal alloys in the rock, suggesting at very least an origin outside of our solar system, but other astrophysicists were skeptical of those claims.Back in 2017, Oumuamua, a long, rod-like object, became the first known interstellar object detected in our solar system.

Loeb released a paper in 2021 exploring the idea that the strange object — which about the length of a football field but only as thick as a common cigar — was possibly using a "light sail" that captures the sun's energy as a means of propulsion.He was

The lost labyrinth of Egypt, or the Hawara labyrinth is a buried complex in Egypt. Built beneath the pyramid of Hawara, it is said to have contained mortuary temples, galleries, courtyards, and libraries that hold unseen information about Ancient Egyptian society, as well as other ancient civilizations, including some prior to commonly recorded history. It was described as a labyrinth by the Ancient Greek historian Herodotus, who was one of several Greek historians who saw the inside of the complex. While a labyrinth typically refers to a complicated maze, Herodotus saw the complexity of the structure and saw similarities. It is an apt comparison because the passages in the labyrinth seem to have been constructed to be confusing as a way to deter unwanted visitors and keep the temples safe. It supposedly has over 3,000 rooms, all laden with lost culture.

Telepylos and Homer’s Odyssey In Homer’s Odyssey, Telepylos is described as the city of the Laestrygonians, a race of giants who ambush Odysseus and his crew. The vivid depiction includes towering cliffs, a narrow harbor entrance, and dramatic landscapes, suggesting a location of strategic maritime importance. Traditionally dismissed as myth, these detailed descriptions raise the question: could Telepylos have been a real place, its memory preserved through oral storytelling? By analyzing Homeric texts alongside physical data from the region between Malta and Sicily, this study investigates the plausibility of identifying Telepylos as a submerged site.

Spanning approximately 80 square kilometers, the site lies at a depth of 250 meters between Sicily and Malta and features striking geometric formations. A central mound, comparable in scale to the Great Pyramid of Giza, and an encircling canal—529 meters wide and 50 meters deep—underscore the engineering sophistication of this ancient settlement. These features suggest a city of immense scale and importance, potentially serving as a waypoint for ancient mariners. Through a recalibration of sea-level models using datasets from EMODnet and GEBCO, this study proposes that the Mediterranean basin, isolated from the Atlantic during the Last Glacial Maximum (LGM), experienced a localized sea-level drop to approximately -250 meters, exposing vast landscapes suitable for human settlement. This stable plateau, lasting nearly 3,000 years, likely provided the conditions for Telepylos and similar civilizations to thrive before a gradual sea-level rise submerged the city by 8,600 BC. Unlike Atlantis, Telepylos’s submersion was not sudden but marked by centuries of encroachment as nature slowly reclaimed the city. The findings challenge conventional paradigms about LGM sea levels and ancient Mediterranean civilizations.

One of the most enduring mysteries of all time is what happened on Oak Island in Nova Scotia?    Was there treasure buried there and is it still there?    One of the most popular cable television shows ever,  The Curse of Oak Island  on History Channel, investigated the mystery spending millions of dollars over ten seasons and could not find the treasure.    Both Don Ruh and Scott Wolter have had firsthand involvement with the island and its mysteries over the years, Don sharing two maps with Rick and Marty Lagina via his friend and co-researcher Zena Halpern, and Scott with his multiple visits to the island.    However, they had little interest in the mystery until early in 2023 when a trove of encrypted documents came to Don as part of their research of the Knights’ Templar Cremona Document materials.    Once decoded, the five messages and three sketches and one new map of the island revealed shockingly detailed information about who constructed, “ The Underground Project,”     put treasure there and what happened to it.    Finally, the over six-centuries-long mystery has been solved.    Incredibly, the documents also provide new insight into the fabled Holy Grail.

Mirador is a critical site not only for the conservation of biodiversity, but also cultural heritage. The archaeological importance of this site was emphasized in 2021 when a 3D LiDAR survey led by Dr. Richard Hansen revealed thousands of ancient structures in 25 major cities across the landscape. Unfortunately, deforestation continues to threaten the Maya Biosphere Reserve, and its archaeological sites are threatened by looting and development. With Global Conservation’s support and matching funding from Rainforest Trust, the private nonprofit FundaEco has been working hard to stop illegal activities in Parque Nacional Mirador – Rio Azul (Mirador-Rio Azul National Park) and surrounding areas.

These efforts are being led by Francisco Asturias, Director of FundaEco Petén and the Mirador Park Rangers. These rangers are a combined team of government police and military, NGO-trained rangers, and community Ecoguards working together to stop wildlife poaching, looting of archaeological sites, illegal logging, and land clearing for cattle ranching.This land clearing is especially contentious because it supports narcotrafficking by providing a medium for money laundering, drug smuggling, and territory control.
