If you’re a busy guy in your 40’s, 50’s and 60’s, chances are you have heard that you can no longer reap the benefits of the days of your youth. Society has told you that it’s not possible for you to stay lean, stay fit, and have the exuberance and energy you once felt and had as a young man. These constant messages are telling us that it's ok to not be our best selves. We don’t have to try or stay hungry as we once did when we were young. We no longer have anything to prove to ourselves. These messages are also contributing to a larger problem we are not addressing. Obesity. In the U.S., today, nearly 50% of all men over 40 are obesity. Being overweight and out of shape is the number one contributor to early death. And today more men are passing away at younger ages than ever before. Cancer diagnoses in men are escalating. Men are being put on prescription meds for blood pressure, high cholesterol, and heart disease at younger ages. And more families are losing fathers and husbands by the day. Obesity is the enemy, the one that sits on the top of the hill peering down at us from afar. We have allowed for far too long to let ourselves lose. To take the hill is no easy task. There are no quick fixes. There are no hacks or shortcuts to winning this battle to a better and more healthy life. The only way to win is to work. Every day, little by little. And with the right methods, tools, and strategies, together we can help you stand tall against the enemy of obesity and mediocrity and take back your life. Hi, I’m Dr. Anthony Balduzzi, CEO of The Fit Father Project and Host of this show, the Fit Father Project Podcast. And now it’s time we help you with yours. On this podcast, we’re going to cover tactics and strategies to help you wage war against your enemy such as - How to increase your testosterone to build age-defying muscle - How to make healthy eating simple and sustainable. - How to become the best version of yourself. My commitment to you is to set you up for success. Truth be told, there will be times your mind will tell you to take it easy, to go back to unhealthy habits. There will be times that the daily stresses of life will make you feel like the only way to deal with it is to eat your favorite junk food meal. There will be times you will feel satisfied with where you are and give up because you’re content. But together on this podcast, we will stay the course and conquer the hill. To get the latest episodes of the Fit Father Project Podcast, follow us on Apple, Spotify, and or wherever you get your podcast and turn your notifications on so you know when a new episode drops. This episode covers the definition, types, and prevalence of dementia, as well as individual risk factors and the potential of aging with a healthy brain.
They also explore the impact of alcohol and marijuana on brain health, the effectiveness of supplements, and the benefits of intermittent fasting.

Key Takeaways:
One out of two cases of dementia is preventable through lifestyle factors such as exercise, a healthy diet, avoiding head injuries, and managing chronic conditions.Alcohol and marijuana use can have negative effects on brain health, while supplements and functional mushrooms may have limited evidence of benefit. Intermittent fasting and a low-carb diet can be beneficial for dementia prevention. A comprehensive model for dementia prevention includes factors such as exercise, sleep apnea treatment, weight control, and medication management. Her mission is to help you stop focusing on surface-level tactics that don't work and instead attract your dream partner authentically.
Emily's dating methodologies and principles have helped thousands release deep-rooted insecurities, become unapologetically confident, and get everything they desire in love.
Her extensive expertise in subconscious programming, attachment theory, attraction, and communication didn't happen by accident. Mon, 08 Apr 2024 - 1h 02min - 204 - Oral Health: Gary Kadi of NextLevel Practice on the Mouth-Body Connection
Episode 194 is about oral health and how your mouth can affect many of the body’s organs — and so much more!
In this episode, you’ll meet Gary Kadi, the founder and chairman of the board of NextLevel Practice, a leading dental and medical consulting firm.
Gary has worked to empower dentists for over 20 years, transforming America’s view of oral health and elevating the standing of dentistry in the public consciousness.
As a dental and health expert, Gary discusses the importance of oral health and the mouth-body connection, highlighting the impact of oral pathogens on heart health.
Maintaining good oral health is essential to prevent chronic health conditions. Poor oral hygiene can cause inflammation from periodontal disease, which can lead to cardiovascular disease, high blood pressure, type 2 diabetes, respiratory diseases, osteoporosis in the jaw, rheumatoid arthritis, premature birth, low birth weight, and even Alzheimer's and dementia.
Taking care of your oral health is crucial, and Gary shows you how to do it. He also opens up about his journey to overcome addiction, and, as a successful entrepreneur, he shares his secrets to health, wealth, and happiness!
Key Takeaways:
Oral health is crucial for overall body health, as oral pathogens can contribute to heart attacks and other health issues. Addiction is often connected to trauma, and addressing the root causes is essential for healing. Maintaining health in five domains (physical, financial, social, mental, and spiritual) is key to overall well-being. Value exchange is important in financial health, and helping others achieve their goals can lead to financial success. Practicing forgiveness and letting go of self-righteousness can lead to mental and spiritual well-being.More From Gary:

Mon, 01 Apr 2024 - 38min - 203 - The Truth About Masculinity: Traver Boehm and the UNcivilized Men’s Movement
Episode 193 is a deep dive into the changing landscape of masculinity and the challenges men face today.
In this episode, you’ll meet Traver Boehm, the founder of the UNcivilized Men’s Movement, author of Man UNcivilized, host of the UNcivilized Podcast, and a two-time TEDx speaker.
Traver’s goal is to end the suffering in men — to end the suffering caused by men. He is dedicated to understanding how men think, what’s behind their behavior, and, most importantly, their unique challenges in the modern landscape.
In 2016, after losing a pregnancy, his marriage, and his business partnership all within weeks of each other, he created a radical year-long social experiment to answer the question, “Who am I as a man?”
During that year, he lived alone in a pitch-black room for a month, sat among men nearing the end of their lives in hospice, and called all of his exes to ask where he was deficient as a man.
It was also when he realized that he might be able to help other men answer the question for themselves, “Who am I as a man?”
Drawing upon an eclectic background ranging from professional bodyguard and mixed martial arts to a Master’s Degree in Traditional Chinese Medicine and meditation, he’s helped men all over the world become UNcivilized as they wake up to the power of their hearts, the brilliance of their bodies, and the wisdom of their souls so they can blaze their own path. He does this through one-on-one coaching with men or women, couples coaching, and group mentorship.
If you want to take risks and live boldly to create a fulfilling and meaningful life, you've got to listen to this episode!
Key Takeaways:
Grounded masculinity involves being physically strong, emotionally present, and having a sense of purpose. Men have core needs, including the need to feel seen, heard, and celebrated, as well as the need for a purpose beyond family. The concept of toxic masculinity oversimplifies the issues men face and can be harmful.Men should strive to be authentic and express themselves rather than conform to societal expectations. Integrity is crucial for men, aligning thoughts, words, and actions, leading to confidence and purpose. Fitness plays a significant role in masculinity, providing strength, capability, and safety. Meditation and presence are essential for men to cultivate self-awareness, improve relationships, and navigate the challenges of modern technology.More From Traver:

But his teachings can help you achieve anything and everything you put your mind to!

The first principle, discipline, is about showing up every day and following a structured plan. Confidence is built by borrowing confidence from others, such as envisioning the energy and mindset of a favorite athlete.
Mental toughness is the ability to continue being disciplined and confident even when things don't go according to plan. It serves as a security guard for discipline and confidence, helping you achieve high levels of success.
This conversation explores different ways to become mentally tough, including having a strong work ethic and maintaining a positive mindset. It also highlights the role of faith in mental toughness and the importance of taking personal initiative.
Dre also shares his daily routine and self-care practices, emphasizing the importance of fitness and productivity, and he and Dr. A touch on the impact of technology on mental toughness and the importance of being aware of how social media platforms monetize users' time and attention.
Key Takeaways:
Regular check-ins and resets are important for maintaining personal initiative and staying focused on goals. Applying principles of mental toughness to parenting involves instilling values of personal development and personal finance in children. Technology can be both a tool and a stumbling block for mental toughness, and it's important to be intentional about how it is used. A daily routine with self-care practices, such as exercise and meditation, can contribute to mental toughness. Incorporating fitness into daily routines can enhance mental toughness and overall well-being.More From Dre and Work On Your Game:

Mon, 27 Nov 2023 - 38min - 175 - The Power of Support, With Harry Lorusso of the Outlier Fund
Episode 167 of the Fit Father Project Podcast is all about the power of support and how the right people around us can get us through anything.
In this episode, you’ll meet Harry Lorusso, a man with a unique and incredible story to tell.
In March 2019, at the age of 33, Harry was diagnosed with glioblastoma, one of the most complex, deadly, and treatment-resistant forms of cancer.
He underwent a year of treatment at UPMC Hillman Cancer Center and was enrolled in a trial that injected a virus in his tumor and included radiation, oral chemotherapy, and IV immunotherapy.
The average life expectancy of a glioblastoma diagnosis is around 14-16 months. Four years have passed since Harry’s treatment, and he’s had no evidence of the disease since!
Harry deeply believes the most essential part of beating this disease was the power of support he got from his family, friends, and medical team.
Once Harry’s treatment was finished, he decided to shift his focus onto others battling this disease and founded The Outlier Fund with his wife, Dana. The Outlier Fund is a 501(c)3 dedicated to bringing hope to those impacted by glioblastoma by creating community, raising awareness and funds for impactful research.
These days, Harry loves spending time with Dana and their two-year-old son Wylie and “doing hard things.” In May of 2022, he completed his first 26.2-mile marathon and, in April of 2023, finished 9th overall in his first 33-mile off-road ultramarathon through the Blue Ridge Mountains.
This is an incredible conversation with a man we can all learn a lot from!

Over the course of his professional career, Ken has successfully managed multiple research science laboratories. It was during his work on the Metal Oxide (MOXY) Fusion Reactor that he stumbled upon an intriguing discovery — the remarkable free radical neutralizing properties of C60.
Driven by scientific curiosity, Ken delved deeper into the study and experimentation of C60. He initially used it as a radiation protectant on his fusion research projects and noticed unexpected improvements in his overall health.
Astonishingly, after approximately eight months of incorporating C60 into his routine, Ken's dry Macular Degeneration vanished, leaving his optometrist amazed by the unprecedented outcome.
Motivated by this transformative personal experience, Ken dedicated himself to researching, studying, and producing C60 Buckminsterfullerene products.
We’ve all heard about antioxidants and their benefits, but we often don’t know how they work and which ones are really the best.
Ken breaks it down and teaches us what we need to know about Carbon 60, antioxidants, free radicals, and so much more!
In this episode, you’ll learn about:
What Carbon 60 is and why it’s so powerful. How Ken discovered it, and what it has meant to his health and wellness. How antioxidants really work and why you need to pay attention to them. The various free radicals you need to know about.Simple ways to understand your body’s chemistry. Mon, 16 Oct 2023 - 49min - 163 - Tinnitus Relief: Wayne Altman of Melody Clouds on Using Binaural Beats To Stop the Ringing in Your Ears
Episode 155 of the Fit Father Project Podcast is all about tinnitus relief and how binaural beats can help you stop the ringing in your ears.
In this episode, you’ll meet Wayne Altman, an entrepreneur and the founder of Melody Clouds, the premier online source for music and audio to calm your mind.
After suffering from tinnitus and looking for relief from all the noise he kept experiencing as a result of this illness, Wayne became aware of binaural beats in 2018. He started listening to different types of sounds, and music, and after some time, he noticed that the only time he does not experience extreme ringing in both ears is when he can listen to various music selections and give himself a respite from the noise.
He joined several different subscription sites that have become popular, but none of them were worth the money to him. Either they were far too expensive or had sparse content. He had to try to figure out something better.
He finally found a way to help anyone with the same condition by collecting tracks from producers worldwide in dozens of different styles to suit any taste in music.
Finding these fantastic results made him think about introducing more beats to people who want to have a better focus, take a break from the day-to-day rush, feel relaxed and calm to enjoy the present moment, calm their kids from being upset or cranky, meditate, and even for the people who just love reading and being read to.
Now, Melody Clouds has 8,000 hours of solfeggio frequencies, binaural beats, guided meditation, and 16,967 audiobooks designed to relax and educate.
Wayne has determined that this technology's healing effects should be available to everyone who wants it, and he’s got an incredible offer just for our listeners! The first 20 people who send their full name and email address to trina@fitfatherproject.com will receive a FREE year membership to Melody Clouds!
So sit back, listen to this fantastic conversation, and start getting the relief you desire!

Episode 141 of the Fit Father Project Podcast is all about treating chronic pain and mental health issues in new ways never before thought of.
In this episode, you’ll meet Dr. Eugene Lipov and Jamie Mustard, the authors of the new book, The Invisible Machine: The Startling Truth About Trauma and the Scientific Breakthrough That Can Transform Your Life, and pioneers of the Dual Sympathetic Reset Procedure (DSRP).
They have a groundbreaking revelation that psychological trauma manifests as a physical injury that can be seen and monitored on a brain scan, and a revolutionary approach to resetting the sympathetic nervous system that has helped countless patients suffering from chronic pain, anxiety, PTSD, and other related conditions.
“The Einstein of Modern Anesthesiology,” Dr. Lipov is a renowned board-certified pain specialist and the inventor of the stellate ganglion block, a minimally invasive procedure that has been proven effective in treating PTSD symptoms.
Jamie Mustard is an artist and a renowned strategic consultant, and the author of the bestselling book, The Iconist: The Art and Science of Standing Out. Beginning as a child and then into adulthood, he suffered years of trauma at varying levels before stumbling across Dr. Lipov and the DSRP.
In their new book, Dr. Lipov and Jamie combine their expertise to explain the science behind the DSRP and its potential to revolutionize the way we treat chronic pain and mental health issues. Their approach is based on the premise that the sympathetic nervous system, which controls our fight-or-flight response, can become "stuck" in a state of hyperarousal, leading to chronic pain and other debilitating symptoms.
Weaving hard science with moving human stories, The Invisible Machine reveals how this treatment was developed. It also tells the incredible story of the unlikely team, including the doctor, an artist, Special Forces leadership, and a sheriff, who are working together to change our understanding of post-traumatic stress and why it matters to society.
It’s an incredible conversation you’re sure to learn a lot from!
In this episode, you’ll learn:
How the nervous system works. How the nervous system works in relation to trauma.Accessible and relatively inexpensive things you can do to heal. Why trauma is a biological injury and what that means for treating it. Misconceptions and misunderstandings about PTSD.And so much more! So, to get the most from your health and fitness efforts, listen to this episode on treating chronic pain and mental health issues, and check out FF30X!

Mon, 03 Jul 2023 - 45min - 145 - Making A Commitment: How Fit Father Dan Went From a Horrible Trajectory To a Life Full of Hope and Possibility
Episode 139 of the Fit Father Project Podcast is all about making a commitment and how anyone can build a sustainable healthy lifestyle.
In this episode, you’ll meet Fit Father Dan, one of our awesome Brothers who has completely transformed his life on the Fit Father Project.
Just a couple of years ago, Dan was on a horrible trajectory. He had body-wide pain from some old back injuries, and he was always tired, so much so that he would find himself falling asleep driving on the highway and only waking up when he'd hit the bumps on the side of the road.
To combat the pain and exhaustion, he was taking tons of Advil and drinking 14 cups of coffee a day, which led to constant and relentless stomach pain. It got so bad until he got to the point where he felt like he was going to die if he didn’t make some changes.
Then he found the Fit Father Project, had the wherewithal to follow through with it, and the rest is history!
Within 30 days, Dan was feeling phenomenally better. And now he's far past that, currently in Phase Three of the program, and his life has drastically improved.
He’s cut back on coffee, the pain and inflammation are gone, and he's dramatically improved his energy level. More than that, he has a new mindset of hope and possibilities.
There wasn’t any ‘silver bullet’ — he did it all with sensible nutrition, regular exercise, the right mindset, and strong support from his family and community.
So, if you’re dealing with aches and pains, or if you think you’re too old or past your prime, you need to listen to this episode.
If you have the ability to make a commitment and try something new as Dan did, and you follow through, you're going to see amazing results!
In this episode, you’ll learn about:
Dan’s history of pain and the various painkillers he took to deal with it.The fears and doubts he had and how he overcame them. How to hone and stick to a proper nutrition routine.Ways to improve your sleep and hydration. The importance of community, support, and accountability. And so much more! So, to get the most from your health and fitness efforts, listen to this episode on making a commitment, take some notes, and check out FF30X!

Mon, 26 Jun 2023 - 45min - 144 - Dealing With PTSD, Featuring Filmmaker, Author, and Veteran Clint Van Winkle
Episode 138 of the Fit Father Project Podcast is all about dealing with PTSD and the realities and struggles soldiers and veterans face when reintegrating into society.
In this episode, you’ll meet Clint Van Winkle, a family friend and great guy with a critical message we haven't brought to the podcast so far.
Clint served for eight years in the United States Marine Corps, earning the rank of sergeant. While in Iraq, he served as an Amphibious Assault Vehicle section leader, attached to Lima Company 3rd B.N. 1st Marines, and commanded eighteen other Marines.
After his tour of duty, he returned to earn a B.A. in English from Arizona State University, then an M.A. in Creative Writing and Media from the University of Wales-Swansea.
He is the author of Soft Spots: A Marine's Memoir of Combat and Post-Traumatic Stress Disorder, and his documentary, The Guilt, explores issues of PTSD and survivor's guilt as it relates to veterans. Both poignantly capture the significant problems many combat personnel struggle with when they return home.
There are a lot of members of our community that struggle with these things or have family or friends that deal with these things. We want to shine some light on it and raise as much awareness as possible.
Clint recognized the psychological damage he experienced from war — emotional outbursts, panic attacks, mood swings, and more- and eventually sought help at a Veterans Administration facility. And so began the maddening journey through an indifferent system that promises to care for veterans.
Now, Clint helps veterans get the care they need, and we want to help him do it!
In this episode, you’ll learn about:
PTSD, survivor's guilt, and the psychological trauma of war.The emotional experience of returning home after serving in a warzone.Common symptoms of PTSD.How soldiers and veterans can get the help that they need. How friends and family can help. And so much more! So, to get the most from your health and fitness efforts, listen to this episode on dealing with PTSD, take some notes, and check out FF30X!

In this episode, you’ll meet Fit Father Ralph, a 56-year-old man who has lost over 40 pounds on the Fit Father Project. But that’s just a small part of his story! He has also dramatically improved his blood sugar levels and blood pressure and is now on a new path in life with a stronger mindset and much more vitality and strength.
Ralph has had a very interesting life and career with many different vocations. He was in the Marine Corps for eight years, a correctional officer for 25 years, and even ran an MMA gym where he trained cage fighters and did some fighting himself.

Episode 135 of the Fit Father Project Podcast is all about rebuilding life, facing challenges head-on, and how not to play the victim.
In this episode, you’ll meet Fit Father Chris, a phenomenal guy who, like many of the men in our Brotherhood, recently dealt with a lot of life’s challenges.
And like many of our guys, Chris has found a way to change the way he approaches life and looks at new possibilities, and has created some really profound changes in a very short period of time.
In about four months, he made impressive changes, losing weight, building muscle, and looking more vibrant and energetic. But his changes are far more than physical.
Chris has been going through a major life shift — a renaissance, as he calls it. He’s been going through a divorce, and whether or not you've gone through one yourself, you know it comes with many financial, emotional, physical, and stressful changes.
Some men get overwhelmed by these challenges, and they fall down, playing the victim and letting their life crumble.

So if you're looking for some inspiration on what's possible regardless of how old you are or what life has thrown at you, look no further than Chris.
He's totally changed his life in three months, and he’s only just begun!

This bonus episode of the Fit Father Project Podcast is a special episode because we’re going to play a recent interview Dr. A did with Dean Pohlman of Man Flow Yoga on the Better Man Podcast.
It’s all about mindset, motivation, discipline, and getting your inner self aligned — mentally, emotionally, and even spiritually.
Whatever journey you’re on — weight loss, muscle building, getting more flexible, etc. — you often know what you need to do. Still, many men struggle with these journeys. Why?
It’s because knowing the right things to do and actually doing them are two entirely different things. And stress, worry, fear, and other emotions make these journeys even harder.
In this episode of the Better Man Podcast, Dr. A and Dean discuss why your emotions are your single biggest obstacle on your weight loss journey — and how you can gain more control over them.
It’s an amazing conversation that goes for nearly 90 minutes, but trust me, it's worth it!
In this episode, you’ll learn:
The 3 biggest traps that make losing weight more difficult. Why your stress, fears, and other emotions are actually more to blame for your inability to lose weight than your exercise routine. How regular exercise can rewire your brain and help you stop craving unhealthy, comfort foods. How to make healthier decisions easier and more effective. How to find your deep, visceral “why” for becoming healthier.Everything you need to know about the Man Flow Yoga Strength Foundations Challenge and how to get started. And so much more! So, if you want to get the most from your health and fitness efforts, listen to this episode on mindset, motivation, and discipline, take some notes, and check out FF30X!

This led to people eating more muscle meats, like steak and chicken breasts.

They are rich in vitamins A, D, E, K, and B12, folate, iron, magnesium, selenium, and zinc.
Plus, they’re high in protein!
So, get out of your comfort zone, throw away your preconceived notions, and get ready to embrace organ meats!
In this episode, you’ll learn:
How I personally incorporate organ meats into my life. How to make organ meats taste delicious. The history of organ meats and why they fell out of favor. He’s also about to kick off a new phase of life, as he’s working on earning his Doctor of Physical Therapy degree!

When he found himself over 200 pounds and on blood pressure and cholesterol medication, he knew he needed to make a change.

Mon, 23 Jan 2023 - 46min - 121 - Water Fasting: My Personal 3-Day Water Fast Protocol
Episode 116 of the Fit Father Project Podcast is all about water fasting and how it can be so beneficial to your health and wellness.
This is a special episode because I will reveal to you my three-day water fasting protocol that I do several times per year.
Water fasting delivers profound benefits, from activating your immune system and stem cells to getting rid of cellular garbage, and so much more.
Now, if you know anything about the Fit Father Project, you know that intermittent fasting is a regular recommendation.
A 24-hour fast is great because it's something you can do every single week. You have dinner one day, then just drink water, coffee, and/or green tea until dinner the next day.
You can get even more benefits the longer you fast, but that’s not always easy to do!
So, I feel that a three-day fast is a sweet spot between getting maximum benefits without it being a super long and challenging fast.
I know what you’re thinking: a three-day water fast sounds crazy.
But, people water fast for 7, 10 days, and there’s even a case study of a man who water fasted for an entire year!
The point is the body can survive water fasting, and for most people, it’s not detrimental to their health.
So, fasting is appropriate for people who want to lose weight or improve their health.
However, it is unsafe for women who are pregnant or breastfeeding, or anyone with a history of any eating disorder.
Also, people who are on medication to manage diabetes or blood sugar, or if they need to take certain medications with food, should not fast.
Ready to learn more about water fasting?
Then you’ve got to check out this episode!
In this episode, you’ll learn:
The massive benefits of water fasting. The science and research behind water fasting. How fasting makes your body more resilient and higher functioning. The dos and don’ts of fasting. My personal three-day water fasting protocol And so much more! So, if you want to get the most from your health and fitness efforts, listen to this episode on water fasting, take some notes, and check out FF30X!

Mon, 16 Jan 2023 - 21min - 120 - Cold Exposure: The Benefits Of Exposing Our Bodies To Cold
Episode 115 of the Fit Father Project Podcast is all about cold exposure and why we get phenomenal health benefits when we expose our bodies to cold.
Our bodies get stronger when we stress them.
Exercise is stress to our muscles, tendons, and cardiovascular system, and after we stress, that kicks in the body's adaptation process to repair and grow stronger.
One of the most fundamental and primal stresses is temperature.
That’s why, every morning after I hydrate, I do a three-minute cold plunge in a cold tub my friend built me out of a big chest freezer.
And that’s what I want you to consider — getting yourself a cold plunge or at least taking some cold showers so you can see the health advantages of cold exposure.
The first thing that happens when you expose your body to cold is you get a stronger immune system.
It has been well documented that the white blood cells that are the champions of our immune system increase in a good, healthy way when exposed to cold.
So if you're looking at maximizing your immune strength, you’ve got to listen to this episode.
It's not just about nutrition, sleeping, and exercise … cold exposure is one of the best things you can do for a stronger immune system.
And that’s just the tip of the iceberg (see what I did there?) regarding the myriad health benefits of cold exposure!
In this episode, you’ll learn:
The massive benefits of cold exposure. How it improves your body's stress response. How to become more stress resilient. The keys to decreasing inflammation.Improving your physical performance and recovery. And so much more! So, if you want to get the most from your health and fitness efforts, listen to this episode on cold exposure, take some notes, and check out FF30X!

Mon, 09 Jan 2023 - 14min - 119 - Systems Thinking: How To Harness New Year’s Energy Into Life-Long Success (Part 2)
Episode 114 of the Fit Father Project Podcast continues our talk about systems thinking and how to crush your goals, not just this month or next month but well into the future!
As we discussed in Part 1, systems thinking is a holistic mindset that interconnects every aspect of your life.
You (mind, body, and soul) are a system, as is your family, community, city, state, and country.
When we look at ourselves as a series of systems, and understand every part within them, we can make better decisions, stay focused and motivated, and conquer any goal we set.
Your body is a dynamic, interconnected system — trillions of cells, gut bacteria, thoughts, emotions, etc., all of it is connected.
The pressures of work, family, and life are constantly interacting with your goals, desires, and habits, but when you can see the bigger picture, you can create a more robust system that gets you better results in the short term and sustains those results in the long term.
If you missed Part 1, definitely go back and check it out!
But even if you don’t, this episode will give you massive value, as we apply this idea that you are an interconnected dynamic being to the different stages that we move through on our health and fitness journey.
So no matter what stage you're at in your journey, whether you're just starting or a Fit Father veteran, you’ll love this conversation!
In this episode, you’ll learn:
How to get started and/or find your motivation. How to face temptations and setbacks.Dealing with changing relationships. How to keep the positive momentum rolling.Ways to keep reinventing yourself and finding new goals. And so much more! So, if you want to get the most from your health and fitness efforts, listen to this episode on systems thinking, take some notes, and check out FF30X!

Mon, 26 Dec 2022 - 21min - 117 - The Keto Diet: What You REALLY Need To Know
Episode 112 of the Fit Father Project Podcast is all about the keto diet and what you need to know and understand about it.
The ketogenic diet is a very low carbohydrate diet, and it’s different from what we recommend in our Fit Father Project meal plans.
We don't think it's the most optimal approach for most middle-aged people who want to live healthily and have a sustainable lifestyle over the long haul.
All the calories that are in foods come from three main macronutrients: proteins, carbohydrates, and fats.
The keto diet basically eliminates carbohydrates from the diet, so the calories you're getting come from proteins and fats.
The keto diet also doesn’t allow any high-sugar or highly processed foods, so a lot of people end up feeling healthier and lose a lot of weight, so they feel like it's a really good solution.
The problem is, and this is my overall diet perspective, is any diet that's restrictive from the get-go is going to cause friction in the long term.
And things that cause friction in the long term are going to set you up for derailing your progress.
Now, I am all for eating a lower carbohydrate diet, particularly if you're cutting out a lot of bad carbs like processed sugars and grains that don't have much nutritional value.
But, the Fit Father Project meal plans intentionally include carbs because of a few key reasons.
We discuss those reasons — and so much more — in this episode.
It’s time to learn the TRUTH about keto!
In this episode, you’ll learn:
What the keto diet is and what its goals are.The importance of a healthy, functioning metabolism — and how to achieve it.How to become insulin sensitive and metabolically flexible. The science of intermittent fasting. The importance of sleep and hydration. And so much more! So, if you want to get the most from your health and fitness efforts, listen to this episode on the keto diet, take some notes, and check out FF30X!

Episode 100 of the Fit Father Project Podcast is all about changing bad habits and how to take back control of your life and health.
In this episode, you’ll meet Cleve, a 49-year-old husband and father who, like many of us, found his health and fitness fall by the wayside during the COVID-19 lockdowns.
As a black belt in karate and a member of a rock band, Cleve was always active.
Cleve also lives in Montreal, Québec, Canada, where they had some of the strictest lockdown rules in the world.
He couldn’t go to his karate gym, and he couldn’t get together with his band.

He was spinning out of control, and he just didn't feel like himself.
But then he found the Fit Father Project and was able to make an incredible transformation!
He’s been able to drop over 40 pounds, develop strong exercise habits, and improve his energy.
He no longer has back pain or has to use his asthma inhaler, and he's just feeling so much healthier.
I think you're really going to love this episode because Cleve really pours his heart out and describes in detail what it took for him to achieve such fantastic results.
It is possible to make amazing changes at any point in life, and you can achieve the mind, body, and soul you desire.
Cleve is a living example of that!
