"Every adversity, every failure, every heartache carries with it the seed of an equal or greater benefit." Napoleon Hill
Dreamers! I am delighted to see all of you again! I hope you have enjoyed your spring so far. What does it take for you to keep going after enduring trauma when moving seems nearly impossible? What is it called when you somehow find a way to move forward?
This conversation aims to highlight my guest's growth journey following trauma. This week, I am joined by the courageous podcaster and advocate Brianna Jones. Brianna highlights her journey of Post-trauma growth (PTG), helping others, among many other heart-wrenching yet courageous stories.
Post-traumatic growth (PTG) is a relatively new concept in psychology that refers to the positive changes and growth that can occur in individuals following a traumatic event or experience. While traumatic events can lead to adverse outcomes such as post-traumatic stress disorder (PTSD) or depression, PTG suggests that individuals can also experience positive psychological changes as a result of their trauma.PTG is not simply resilience or bouncing back from a difficult situation. It is a more profound and transformative experience that can lead to a higher level of functioning, greater life satisfaction, and a new perspective on life.
Research suggests that individuals who experience PTG often report several common changes, including:
- Increased personal strength and resilience: Following a traumatic experience, individuals may feel a sense of strength and resilience that they did not have before. This can lead to greater self-confidence and a more positive outlook on life.Greater appreciation for life: Individuals who experience PTG often report feeling more grateful and appreciative. They may be more mindful of the present moment and savor positive experiences.Improved relationships: Trauma can lead to re-evaluating relationships, resulting in more robust and meaningful connections with others.A new sense of purpose and meaning: Trauma can prompt individuals to re-evaluate their values and goals, leading to a greater sense of purpose and meaning.
It's important to note that PTG does not occur in everyone who experiences trauma. Some individuals may experience adverse psychological effects following a traumatic experience, such as PTSD or depression.
Overall, PTG is a promising area of research in psychology that highlights the potential for growth and positive change following traumatic events. Psychologists and mental health professionals can provide more comprehensive and holistic support to individuals who have experienced trauma by focusing on resilience and growth rather than just pathology.

"The key is in not spending time, but in investing it." – Stephen R. Covey.
There was another great conversation, another episode to prove it took place. Don't you love it when hope is in full bloom? Haha.Dreamers value their time highly. Since time is our most valuable resource, we must be mindful of how we spend it. We must spend it on activities that bring us joy and help us achieve our dreams. In this conversation, I spoke with someone who lives by that principle in many different ways. In this episode, I am joined by the amazing SakiSakura! By making the most of each moment, she strives to achieve the things that bring her happiness and help her achieve her goals. The example of SakiSakura serves as a shining example of someone who is mindful of their time and has achieved success.

“Adaptability is not imitation. It means the power of resistance and assimilation.” – Mahatma GandhiHello dreamers! I haven't posted for quite some time. It is great to see you all again. Due to school, I was absent for nearly two months to the day, but I am now back for the remainder of the summer. There is no better way to begin the reunion than with a new episode featuring a special guest.
It's a difficult job being a voice actor. Their voices must be used to convey both their feelings as well as to help create a story. In addition, they must learn to be versatile, constantly refine their craft, and so much more. My guest this week does all of these things and more! Our special guest for this episode is Ezra Vervin who joins me in sharing some interesting insights into voice acting!
In this episode, Ezra discusses how she overcame typecasting, how she approaches her craft as well as how she mitigates burnout resulting from the rigorous demands of voice acting! We also discuss Myspace (because of course we do).
As I mentioned previously, I am grateful to have so many supportive people like yourself who continue to support me. I could not have accomplished this without you all. Please take the time to listen to this episode since there are many valuable items in it. It is my hope that you will all continue to drive toward the horizon during these summer months. I will certainly do the same. Take good care of yourself during this time!

Social worker, advocate, volunteer, lightworker; What do all of these have in common? Well, you could say it's beings who feel an enormous pull towards helping others. In our conversation, she shares her origins of why she chose the career path that she did as well as shed some light on her other person-centered endeavors! We all, at some point, needed help for one thing or another, and at times, have helped others. The beauty of that small act of kindness is that it can help mold the way that person views the world for the rest of their life.

Hello dreamers! It's been a while! The month of October has come and gone, but I'm back to give you another conversation and experience to start the month of November!
There are many definitions of what it means to take a stand, but the most common and effective definition is to assert anopinionorviewpoint; todefendone's point of view or beliefs.
In a return to form experience, I do my best to provide enlightenment, information, and hopefully encouragement towards fighting for what you believe in or helping in a courageous effort to assist someone else.
I'm so grateful to have so many supportive people like yourself who come back and still support me. At the risk of repeating myself, it truly means a lot to me.

I saw this article in which it said, "Of all the issues surrounding well-being, perhaps none is as difficult as the power of acceptance. True acceptance means acknowledging all aspects of your life, even the negative ones, and facing how you feel about them." That rings very true for a lot of us. Some of us find a great deal of trouble coming to terms with certain aspects of our lives. What happens when you start the journey towards peace?
This episode's special guest will help illuminate that with Toki Meki Emily returning for a lovely conversation! For some of you, this will be your first experience listening to a beautiful person, for others, it will be the second time around. It's always wonderful catching up with people and seeing how far they have come on their journey. She and I discuss what it means to deal with trauma, her experiences in going to therapy this year, and her stance on mental health.
Given the nature of this topic and what it portends, fair warning for anyone who may be dealing with similar circumstances. This conversation, like many others, is only meant to help highlight the journies of some courageous people who want to share their stories and you, the listener, to find some inspiration in your journey, hopefully. If this triggers any anxiety, I strongly encourage you to stop listening and come back when you feel able.

When I started this journey, I wanted to create something that resonates with every soul that should ever listen to my content. I have hoped that you can pull something from every visit and conversation. I hope that trend continues today with this episode's special guest: Jay Omega!
Awesome name aside, this mental health advocate and the streamer has overcome a great deal in his life and is healing and helping others all the same. You may not hear it in the episode, but this is his very first podcast appearance ever! In our conversation together, Jay tells the story of his childhood trauma and how it affected him growing up. He also talks about how he used the experience of his life to helping others.
We even discuss bullying and how parents can help mitigate the situation facing students today. Our life can be tough at times; there's no doubt about that. However, it makes Jay's story even more inspirational that while still healing on his journey to peace, he can be a source of hope for others.

I have hoped that you can pull something from every visit and conversation. I hope that trend continues today with this episode's special guest: Mental Health Counselor Gary Nelson!
When you endure life, it has a way at times of either making you feel buried underneath the struggles, or it allows you to transform both your perspective and your energy to something greater. Sometimes having a guiding and measured hand can help us traverse our darker days.
This episode is truly incredible because I enjoyed speaking with Mental Health Counselor Gary Nelson! This brilliant and insightful brother, all the way from Jersey, stops by to chat about mental health, the struggles that African Americans endure when it comes to mental health, as well as the stigma from the media towards it! We even chat about the past and ways to overcome the trappings of anguish that sometimes shackles us from enjoying the present.
As you know, our past can, at times, shackle us from walking towards our future. Given how important a topic this is, I wanted to get the perspective of someone who has diligently studied and practiced the ever-changing art and science of counseling to provide some insight.
I'm so grateful to have so many supportive people like yourself who come back and still support me at the risk of repeating myself, and it truly means a lot to me. So I hope you enjoy this episode.

*taps mic*, is this on? How's it going, dreamers? It's been quite some time since we last conversed. I apologize for being away from this long. I love what I do, and because of how much love I have for this, there is a standard I set to not falter from. When you walk this journey, it cannot be easy, but it is worthwhile. So to avoid burnout, I elected to take a break. I'm back now, so let's continue to walk together.
Someone once said that "Humor has the ability to help transform energy." I believe and share that sentiment. When you endure life, it has a way at times of either making you feel buried underneath the struggles, or it allows you to transform both your perspective and your energy to something greater. Sometimes laughter is a great catalyst to the latter of two situations.
This episode is truly incredible because I enjoyed speaking with comedian Kendra "Kyndra" Crump! This lovely woman isn't just a comedian; she's a future Dr of Psychology as well! In this episode, we converse on the musings of comedy, education, as well as being able to see past your pain and find a way to laugh again in life.
As you know, our past can, at times, shackle us from walking towards our future. Given how important a topic this is, I wanted to get the perspective of someone who can help you laugh at both your pain and what you enjoy in life again.
I'm so grateful to have so many supportive people like yourself who come back and still support me at the risk of repeating myself, and it truly means a lot to me. I hope you enjoy this episode.
Remember, this season is about taking charge, so i hope you enjoy the ride! I couldn't have done this without you all! Enjoy the episode because there are lots of gems here that hopefully enrich your life. I hope you all continue to drive toward the horizon. I will do the same. Don't forget to be awesome!
P.S.- Happy Fathers Day to all the wonderful men who fight and sacrifice for their families.

There's something truly remarkable about connecting with people through conversation; Episode 28 is here!!!
As you know, our past can, at times, shackle us from walking towards our future. Given how important a topic this is, I wanted to get the perspective of someone that can help you love yourself again. In this episode, I spoke with a certified self-love coach, Kailin Vu!
This incredible woman seeks to help others take on the lovely path of self-discovery and self-love. Throughout our conversation, you'll learn of her past and some of the things she had to overcome to get to the fulfilling life she is living today, what can limit us at times from letting go of the past, and so much more. This episode is the first in a series of episodes talking about not being defined by your past! We all make mistakes and get lost along the way, but that's okay! Sometimes we are held shackled to those mistakes and sometimes don't know how to forge ahead. Hopefully, this series will illuminate some things you can do to find peace with your past and move forward truly.
I'm so grateful to have so many supportive people like yourself who come back and still support me at the risk of repeating myself, and it truly means a lot to me. I hope you enjoy this episode.

I have to say, i really enjoy this, i really do. There's something truly remarkable about connecting with people through conversation; Episode 26 is here!!!
I had the pleasure of sitting down with another Berkley prodigy in Cody Jacob! If you recognize Berkley's name, it's because Sydastry AND Pascal have both blended their voices and stories on this podcast and another project, respectively. Cody has the selfless and, at times, thankless job of being an educator but in music! He sits down with me to share how he got started in music and inspires his students through reliability and firm standards. We even talk "Little Shop of Horrors" and more!
I'm so grateful to have so many supportive people like yourself who come back and still support me at the risk of repeating myself, and it truly means a lot to me. I hope you enjoy this episode because I will be embarking on the first series of the season after this! So excited!

My my, how time flies! You know, the only thing that's great about "See You Later" is the anticipation of seeing each other again with a resounding "Hello!" I gotta say, I've missed this recording for you all, but the break was needed to reset and refocus. The good news is, I'm raring to go and my passion for doing this is hotter than ever! Season 2 premiere! WOOO!
What a better way to start the new adventure and journey than to make sense of things, two actually with Stephanie Newell! She is a certified financial coach whose mission is to guide you all to financial freedom! She and i talk about PYF, what it means to be debt-free (especially during a pandemic), and which financial pitfalls to avoid. Lots of laughs along the way too!
I'm so grateful to have so many supportive people like yourself who come back and still support me. I made some changes while i was gone too! I got some new art and deco, new upholstery, and a new tiki bar (under construction, lol ). I hope you enjoy the new renovations.

Hello, and Happy New Year! I hope this year is a bit kinder to you. Here it is...the season finale! Twenty-Four episodes, you've stuck with me. I am forever grateful to all of you.
This episode was supposed to be uploaded around the holiday season, but some things happened, so I uploaded this episode now (just barely missed the holiday window, lol).
In this episode, I catch up with Alliebug! She's a very intelligent, no-nonsense, hardworking woman who sits down with me to talk about charity. We delve into families, the history, and share a lot, and i mean a lot of laughs along the way. Allie also shares her story on how she got started and what inspires her (psst, she's a fellow podcaster too!)
I couldn't have done this without you all; make sure to listen to the end for a very special message, as well as things to come. Don't worry, after a much-needed break, i will return with more episodes in season 2! Enjoy the episode because there are lots of gems here that hopefully enrich your life. Hello, welcome back! I hope this finds you in high spirits. I had to take a break over the holidays to recharge, lol. I had a finale planned, but life had other plans, and for that, I apologize. However, due to recent events, I wanted to take my experience and others to use as a vehicle to enlighten and perhaps help others on a crucial subject: valuing yourself.
This episode was tough to do, given my personal connection with the theme. However, I wanted to push forward and help as many people as I can. Now I don't want you thinking this episode is mournful and sorrowful; it's the opposite (I hope), in fact, haha. Tell you what, take a listen and let me know what you think? Fair? Enjoy the episode because there are lots of gems here that hopefully enrich your life.
I hope you all continue to look toward the horizon. I will do the same. Be well!

Now i usually stick to the course when it comes to these episodes, but thanks to a good friend, I was advised to change course and give people a reason to smile. This episode is going to feature hopefully a couple of them for you. Won't spoil the details, just take a listen and let me know what you think. Smiling is one of the most potent weapons you could ever brandish in times of uncertainty. I hope you all continue to look toward the horizon. I will do the same. Love you all. See you next time.

Hello, welcome back! I hope this finds you in high spirits, friends because we could all use it, given the climate of the world right now. If not, that is okay; maybe this episode could help. With yet another death of a minority (George Floyd) due to police brutality along with so many other victims, it has sent many people over the edge. To ignore this outcry for peace and equality would have been a disservice, so the topic of this episode was changed.
Due to the changing climate of America's ethnic landscape, the growth of the African American, Arab, Hispanic, Asian, and American Indian populations is profoundly changing the racial and ethnic makeup of the country's schools, workplaces, and neighborhoods. It is creating a new multiracial and multicultural heritage in the United States. However, equality seems to be at the bottom of the list, and that incites fear. That fear can lead to anxiety amongst many things. This episode hopes to provide a spark in taking the fear out of living as a minority and how you can appreciate the beauty of being who you are. I hope you all continue to look toward the horizon. I will do the same. Love you all. See you next time.

Welcome back! In this episode, we reflect on how socialization has changed and how we can take the fear out of it. We do so by looking back at the past and compare it to the present. Despite the changes in the world around us, socialization doesn't have to be a concept of fear but the catalyst to stepping toward the best version of yourself.
