Off the field, Shohei Ohtani's former interpreter Ippei Mizuhara agreed to plead guilty to charges of bank fraud and false tax returns, a plea that will likely bring a prison sentence of up to nine years. The Los Angeles Dodgers won their fifth straight game and 12th of the last 14, with star pitcher Walker Buehler making his first start in nearly two years. Buehler looked solid in four innings, and the LA offense picked him up by hitting four home runs to beat the Marlins, 6-3. The Dodgers took the series from the DBacks with a dominating 8-0 win on Wednesday. Shohei Ohtani received a day off but the offense was there to pick him up, knocking around Jordan Montgomery. On the mound, Yoshinobu Yamamoto continues to show that his debut in Korea may have been an anomaly. He went six scoreless innings and looked very comfortable on the mound. Lastly, Landon Knack was sent down with Walker Buehler set to return next week. Was that the right decision for the rotation?

The Dodgers and DBacks were delayed by two hours thanks to some bees, and then the Dodgers were walked off on in extras. It was a bad night for the offense, following up a no strikeout day with nine strikeouts. Landon Knack was solid once again though. Also, would Chris Taylor accept being optioned to the minors if possible? Jose Abreu is doing so with the Astros and that got us thinking. Lastly, MLB and the powers that be are reportedly going to fix the uniforms and all the issues that came up from players and fans. It's about time.

The Los Angeles Dodgers beat the DBacks in the series opener and did something they haven't done since 2006 -- go an entire game without striking out. The offense put up eight runs, including an RBI single from Shohei Ohtani after missing an opportunity with runners in scoring position earlier in the game. Has Ohtani figured it out or is there still more to improve on? Lastly, James Paxton has struggled with his control and it finally cost him some runs on Monday. Even though the Dodgers lost on Sunday, they still took the series from the Blue Jays behind some strong pitching performances from Gavin Stone and Tyler Glasnow. Stone had the best start of his career, and Glasnow continues to be at the forefront of the NL Cy Young race. Good starting pitching will the key for the Dodgers this year. The Los Angeles Dodgers offense broke out and scored 11 runs on 20 hits in a rout of the Nationals. Shohei Ohtani hit three doubles and leads the league, and the offense hit 17 (!!) baseball with an exit velocity over 100 MPH. That was fun. Gavin Lux added two hits and two RBI, and it comes after a report that the Dodgers are giving him about 150 at-bats to get comfortable. The Dodgers lost the series to the Mets over the weekend but at least they got a blowout win on Sunday. Shohei Ohtani passed Hideki Matsui for most home runs by a Japanese-born player in MLB, and maybe revealed that he had been pressing a bit to get that home run. He can now focus on being his best for the Dodgers. Tyler Glasnow shoved on Sunday, going eight shutout innings with 10 strikeouts. More starting pitching like that can go a long way to helping this team in a variety of ways. Lastly, the offense has been bad with runners in scoring position, specifically when it comes to making contact. Can that change?

Mookie Betts had five hits, Andy Pages made his MLB debut and the Dodgers beat the Nationals to even the series on Tuesday. The Dodger offense was able to put up six runs led by Betts' big night. Tyler Glasnow had his first bad start as a Dodger, giving up eight hits and six runs to the Nationals. We found out after the game that he was sick so hopefully that's what the issue was. His bad start came at a tough time for the Dodgers pitching staff as there are a lot of moving parts this week in order to make up for inefficiency and injuries. Shohei Ohtani has started the year bad with runners in scoring position, and Freddie Freeman has just struggled in general for a week or so now. The Dodgers really need them to kick it into gear. The pitching let down the Dodgers in a series loss to the Padres over the weekend. Gavin Stone was great on Saturday but a blown lead and a ton of walks led to losses in the other games. We got even more details on the Shohei Ohtani and Ippei Mizuhara situation, as it has now been reported that Mizuhara stole over $16M from Ohtani's bank account. The Dodgers lost the final game of the series to the Twins but the big story of the day ended up being reports that Shohei Ohtani has been cleared by federal authorities of any wrongdoing in the case involving Ippei Mizuhara and gambling. Los Angeles Dodgers ace Tyler Glasnow put it all together for his best performance in an LA uniform, striking out 14 Twins in seven scoreless innings as the Dodgers beat Minnesota, 6-3. Shohei Ohtani is now the team leader and MLB leader in extra-base hits after picking up two doubles and a homer in a win over the Twins on Monday. Ohtani credited some of the success with his swing to swinging a cricket bat with a baseball bat handle in order to work on his bat path. It finally happened. Shohei Ohtani hit his first Dodgers home run at Dodger Stadium against the San Francisco Giants. The Dodgers once again scored five runs, Mookie Betts once again homered, and the Dodgers once again won. Even with Shohei Ohtani still struggling, the Dodgers got contributions from the bottom of the order. The offense is fun. The Dodgers got big contributions from their 'Big 4' at the top of the order in a win over the Giants. While Shohei Ohtani has struggled, he still was able to drive in a run and score a run. The Dodgers ended up taking three of four from the Cardinals over Opening Weekend. The starting pitching was good but not what was talked about as much. Dodgers again had to rally late in the game after falling behind 4-0. On a day when Mookie Betts, Shohei Ohtani and Freddie Freeman had just one hit between them. The Dodgers scratched across 2 in the 6th on a double from Teoscar Hernandez  and a James Outman fielders choice. Then in the 8th Teoscar Hernandez did it again with his 3rd home run of the season to make it 4-3 then Max Muncy off the bench launched one to right field with a man aboard to give the Dodgers the lead. 5-4

Mookie Betts was again on fire getting on base 5 times with 3 hits 3 runs and his 4th homer of the season which sparked a 9th inning rally. Max Muncy would knock in Freddie Freeman (on his bobblehead night) which tied the game at 5. The Cardinals scored in the 10th and fielders choice and the Dodgers could not answer. Yoshinobu Yamamoto looked really good, after a rough outing in South Korea against the Padres, he went 5 giving up just 2 hits. Will Smith and Freddie Freeman had 3 a piece. 

The Dodgers won on Opening Day behind the strength of their 'Big 3' on offense, as Mookie Betts and Freddie Freeman both homered and the trio combined for six runs scored. It was a fun Opening Day with a new look at how the players were introduced, and all the usual trimmings of the big day. Tyler Glasnow and Ryan Yarbrough were all the Dodgers needed on the mound. With multiple relievers that can go more than one inning, are the Dodgers built for more games like this? Lastly, we got some updates on Walker Buehler, Brusdar Graterol and Blake Treinen.

Dave Roberts had some comments about Shohei Ohtani and the missing presence of his former interpreter, Ippei Mizuhara. Los Angeles Dodgers superstar Shohei Ohtani addressed the media on Monday and gave his statement on what happened with his former interpreter, Ippei Mizuhara. The Los Angeles Dodgers are back on US soil and took on the Anaheim Angels of Orange County in the first game of the Freeway Series on Sunday. Before the game, LA star Shohei Ohtani announced that he would speak to the media on Monday about his ongoing saga with former interpreted Ippei Mizuhara, who had some revelations come to light this weekend about possible misrepresentations on his education and work history. Dodgers manager Dave Roberts announced the starting rotation order, including some minor surprises about the order after Tyler Glasnow, with Bobby Miller preceding Yoshinobu Yamamoto and Gavin Stone going before James Paxton. And finally, LA also optioned a few relievers, making it clear that Kyle Hurt will remain on the roster.

We got a few updates on the story involving Ippei Mizuhara and Shohei Ohtani. The latest report says that Ohtani did not know about anything until Mizuhara addressed the team. After the first win in Korea, news broke that Shohei Ohtani's interpreter, Ippei Mizuhara, was accused of stealing from Ohtani in order to pay off gambling debts. The Ohtani Era is underway along with the 2024 season. Dodgers struggled early to find a clutch hit scratching out a couple of runs on sac flys to tie the game at 2. Then in the 8th a fortunate bounce for the Dodgers involving a glove malfunction for Jake Cronenworth ignited a rally for the Dodgers as they score 4 in the frame which included RBI for both Shohei Ohtani and Mookie Betts. The Los Angeles Dodgers started their season (and Shohei Ohtani's Dodgers career) off with a win in Korea. Ohtani had two hits and an RBI, the Dodgers offense broke through late in the game and the bullpen held things down. Tyler Glasnow also made his Dodgers debut, and while he wasn't as effective as he could be, he did enough to give the Dodgers a chance to win the game. The Padres threw a lot of left-handed relievers at the Dodgers in this game. Is that a sign of things to come with the left-handed heavy lineup?
