Welcome to another exclusive PHUK guest mix. For our 5th birthday we continue with another outstanding guest. Currently blowing up right now with massive support from Nick Warren and The Soundgarden label, and Hernan Cattaneo. PHUK presents ESTEBAN IKASOVIC.

Esteban Ikasovic was born on 30 April 1990, Olavarria, Buenos Aires. Since childhood, his father, Robert, motivated him with his musical tastes and preferences. Among his favourite bands and musicians were Pink Floyd, Queen, Kraftwerk, The Alan Parsons Project, Jean Michel Jarre, Mike Oldfield, some of which have been responsible of awakened Esteban passion for music. When he was 14 years old, he started to learn to play the guitar. After some years, he decided on electronic music, mixing it for his friends in private parties and pubs. Some referents such as Hernan Cattaneo, Eelke Kleijn, Luke Fair, Henry Saiz, Guy J, Nick Waren influenced him to begin his career as Dj. The ¨House¨ and the ¨Progressive-House¨ started to be part of his characteristic sound, full of beautiful melodies and powerful lows. His initial performances were in events such as Rewind, Azul Summer Festival, Mojo Olavarria, Henry, Bonsifest and others regional parties, sharing booth with different artists such as Facundo Mohr, Marcelo Vasami, Paul Deep (AR), DJ Paul, Sebastian Busto, Sebastian Alonso and others national DJ´s.

A long-time favourite of mine Kruder & Dorfmeister, comprised of Austrian musicians Peter Kruder and Richard Dorfmeister, are renowned for their influential contributions to the downtempo and trip-hop genres. The duo gained widespread acclaim with their landmark 1998 album, "The K&D Sessions," which showcased their exceptional skills in remixing and production. Everyone should have this CD/ Album in their collection.

This is my first choice for my new Back To Mine Series. It's a live show at AB - Ancienne Belgique, celebrating their 30th anniversary, audiences witnessed a mesmerizing and immersive experience. You can enjoy the live audio now! Known for their mastery in blending electronic, ambient, and dub influences, Kruder & Dorfmeister create an atmospheric journey that transcends traditional musical boundaries. Their live performances often feature a seamless fusion of eclectic beats, soulful melodies, and intricate soundscapes.

One of Danny Jarvis' all-time favoruite D&B DJ, Artist and producer is LTJ Bukem often accompanied by the legendary lyricist MC Conrad. This is a live set from Cosmic Twilight last year. D&B doesn't ever age and the genre has evolved beautifully over the years incorporating elements of jazz, ambient, and other genres particularly in Bukem's sets and shows.

LTJ Bukem, whose real name is Danny Williamson, is a British drum and bass musician, producer, and DJ. He gained prominence in the early 1990s for his contributions to the development of the atmospheric and intelligent drum and bass subgenre. Bukem is also the founder of the influential record label Good Looking Records, which has released many classic and influential drum and bass tracks.

Welcome back to The Void.

For an unspecified period, we remained in Planet43's atmosphere, unable to excape the intense gravitational pull. A small away team discovered an anomaly that allowed us to travel back and forth in time but it was limited to the "episode329"  frequency - this detour has cost us a significant amount of time - likely relative to several years back on Earth.

We have managed to leave Planet43 behind, docking with the Athena and preparing for departure back out into deep space. 
With repairs completed to the Athena's primary hydrogen reactors, we're ready to continue our voyage into the unknown. This audio log chronicles our thoughts, fears and hopes - our preparation for the journey back out into The Void.

The Haçienda, often referred to simply as "The Haç," was a legendary nightclub located in Manchester, United Kingdom. It played a pivotal role in shaping the UK's clubbing and music culture, particularly during the late 1980s and early 1990s. Here's a quick history of The Hacienda and its significance for those who don't know and a refresh for those that do!

1. Founding and Early Years (1982-1986):
The Hacienda was founded in 1982 by members of the band New Order (formerly Joy Division) and their label, Factory Records. The club was initially envisioned as a space where Factory artists and friends could enjoy live performances and DJ sets. It was situated in a former yacht showroom on Whitworth Street in Manchester.

2. Dance Music and Acid House (Late 1980s):
In the late 1980s, The Hacienda underwent a transformation. It embraced the emerging dance music scene and played a crucial role in popularizing the acid house movement in the UK. The club began hosting regular dance nights, bringing in pioneering DJs such as Mike Pickering and Graeme Park. The club's unique blend of electronic music, colorful lights, and innovative design created an atmosphere that attracted a diverse crowd.

3. Madchester and Ecstasy Culture (Late 1980s - Early 1990s):
During this period, The Hacienda became synonymous with the Madchester scene, a cultural movement that combined alternative rock music, dance, and fashion. The rise of ecstasy (MDMA) culture further fueled the club's popularity, as the drug's euphoric effects aligned with the music and ambiance of the venue.

4. Legendary Performances and DJs:
The Hacienda hosted iconic performances by artists like The Happy Mondays, 808 State, and A Guy Called Gerald. International DJs, including the likes of Paul Oakenfold and Sasha, also graced its decks. The club's reputation for cutting-edge music, innovative visuals, and avant-garde design drew people from across the UK and beyond.

5. Financial Struggles and Closure (Late 1990s):
Despite its cultural impact, The Hacienda struggled financially due to mismanagement, high costs, and issues with violence and drug use. In 1997, the club's owners declared bankruptcy, and The Hacienda closed its doors for the last time in 1997. The closure marked the end of an era for the UK club scene.

6. Legacy and Influence:
The Hacienda's legacy remains imprinted on UK clubbing culture. It helped bridge the gap between alternative rock and dance music, influencing subsequent generations of DJs, producers, and clubbers. It pioneered the fusion of electronic and alternative music, fostered a sense of unity among diverse audiences, and played a central role in popularizing the ecstasy-fueled dance music movement. Its cultural impact continues to reverberate in the music, design, and nightlife scenes of Manchester and beyond.
