For Those Rainy Days R&B Mix w/ Mr. Slow Jamz | SJ Radio #021 | SWV, Usher, Brandy by Suede Kicks

The beauty of music is that it can transport you to a time, place, and feeling. 2016 I was cutting lines at 143, working at Nothing Bundt cakes lol, and discovered Playboi Carti and started wearing VLONE hoodies. A burned CD of Drake’s So Far Gone was what I listened to most in my Honda Civic. I hope this mix transports you to that same feeling.

What up! Hope you guys enjoyed the first two installments of R&BBQ so here goes another one for you this time DJ Agana sets the tone at Dollar Hits filling the space with tracks from Tamia, The Internet, Donell Jones and more! I've started collecting vinyl singles heavily this year and came across some really great records that you can't find on Spotify or Apple Music, so I wanted to share them with y'all here. Here's a mix of my favorite rare R&B remixes from the 90's to 2000's that'll make you go, "damn they made a remix to this??" This was also my first recorded vinyl set ever, so I'm pretty happy with it so I can review the tape and look at my mistakes. Filmed live at the grand opening of our new pop-up coffee shop, B2B Café at Slow Jamz Gallery. If you're in LA, come thru, grab a drink, and listen to the baristas spin some records. "I know this Valentine’s mix a couple days late like a period, but if 4batz, Ginuwine, and KAI had a baby, it’d be this right here. The year was 2002 when I experienced my first heartbreak. I had a burned CD of Usher’s 8701 album in my Walkman and I really wanted this girl to listen with me. I asked her to be my Valentine’s after and she said no. I asked her why and she said it’s cuz she liked this other guy with Heely’s. I sadly looked down at my T-Mac’s I was wearing. I listened to “U Got It Bad” for the rest of the day 😔. Slow Jamz Radio is back on the internet, this time we're doing live visual sets from Slow Jamz Gallery. Episode #006 kicks off with a melting pot of Da Bassment Cru, Swing Mob, & the SuperFriends. Da Bassment Cru (aka Swing Mob) was a collective of artists founded by Jodeci member, DeVante Swing in 1995. These artists included: Timbaland, Missy Elliott (Sista), Magoo, Ginuwine, Playa, Tweet (Sugah), and many more. The group made a compilation tape that they marketed to record labels, then eventually their contributions have made it's debut from Jodeci's The Show, The After-Party, The Hotel. Da Bassment Cru/Swing Mob eventually disbanded from DeVante's mood swings and the artists continued to collaborate under the collective, The Superfriends in 1997. In my opinion, this is really when each individual artist began to shine and rise to growth. Timbaland & Magoo dropped their album, they adopted Aaliyah to their roster (in which Tim, Missy, & Static backed her project), Missy dropped Supa Dupa Fly, Playa dropped Cheers 2 U, and Ginuwine wanted to be your pony. Aaliyah's death in 2001 shook the collective and the members began to drift apart. TRACKLIST: Heartbroken by Aaliyah Say My Name (Timbaland's Remix) by Destiny's Child After Dark by Drake ft. Peace y'all! It's been quite some time since you last heard from me. I've been working a lot on rugs recently through very late nights and while working, I fell into a rabbit hole of Kanye West's Sunday Service Choir material -- I've probably watched all the performances they've done in their 10 months of touring. The great thing about each concert they do on tour is that each show is different and they add new songs to their setlist consistently. The Sunday Service Choir is led by Jason White, a veteran in the gospel music space and a lot of these songs are rewritten in a Christian/gospel lens by Nikki Grier, transforming songs by Roddy Ricch, Destiny's Child, SWV, and a lot more. Now I made it easier for you guys by digging through hours of their concerts and curating my favorite tracks together, so here's my take on gospel covers for lovers by the Sunday Service Choir. Enjoy! Tracklist can be found on my webiste in the Radio page, check me out on Instagram and Tik-Tok! @slowjamz.co https://slowjamz.co/blogs/radio/slow-jamz-radio-episode-004

Peace y’all! It’s been a while since the last episode, hope you guys are well. This episode was supposed to be released in conjunction with my Star Trak collection, but my external hard drive has passed away and I am currently rebuilding my music library. The idea of this mix came about because there’s too many Neptunes/Star Trak mixes out there and everyone plays all the bangers, so there’s not enough love for the hidden gems. So Episode #003 is called Lost In Space and I play my favorite deep cuts and unreleased songs from The Neptunes. These songs are from their primetime in 2003 with a sprinkle of new songs; I really loved the palette of sounds they used during this era, which became their signature sound. Track list can be found on my website in the Radio Show page. Check me out on Instagram and visit my website to cop some Slow Jamz gear and support the boy. Slow Jamz Radio is also available on Apple Podcasts.

Episode 002 is a mix of what I'd play if I was DJing a pool party and I would have bottomless Hennessy and Pineapples cocktails, they make me feel sexy and I'm dancing with my shoulders the whole time. Play this at your next pool party or your car ride on the empty freeway. And yes, I'm giving away stickers, DM me on IG! Track list can be found on my website in the Radio Show page. Kicking off Slow Jamz Radio with my favorite slow jamz & love songs growing up.
