Leadership and Yoga

Leadership and Yoga

Shawna Krueger

After Yoga (formerly Leadership and Yoga) is a hypnotic storytelling podcast that uses the depth of yogic practice as ground to explore modern culture, artistry, and big human questions. It feels like drinking ginger tea barefoot around a campfire, listening to spoken-word essays that land between late-night radio intimacy and a poetic awakening. Down to earth, real, and deeply relatable, After Yoga is built for artists, deep thinkers, and presence-craving humans who have outgrown standard self-help tropes. Where spirituality meets raw storytelling, and yoga is a doorway to connection.

  • 270 - Bodhi Sunrise on Teaching Yoga with Humor and an Open Heart

Bodhi Sunrise is a Barcelona-based yoga teacher known for teaching on the pier as the sun rises: six mornings a week, for the past seven years, no matter the weather, and come what may. With a love for sharing yoga, a pillar of his teaching is that “people should feel comfortable, at home, and safe to come and arrive however they are.”

Bodhi shares with humor and warmth, which mirrors his yoga-teaching style. When asked what makes a good yoga class, his answer was simply, “did we laugh?” Because laughter, he says, opens us up to a state of yoga. In this episode, we talk about building community by showing up, why he never cancels a class (even if only one person attends), the true role of a yoga teacher, and why you should let your shame be seen. This conversation with Bodhi is funny, honest, very human, and it will remind you to enjoy your practice as well as your life.

Note: this episode includes brief discussion of suicide and loss (timestamps 50:52-52:53). Please listen with care for yourself.

  • 267 - What I Learned Interviewing 100 Yoga Teachers: Abundance & Trust

I fell in love with yoga because of a teacher at a dirty studio down the street, because of the ones who taught me to float and fly, and because of the teachers who called me by name before I was sure I belonged.

After interviewing over 100 yoga teachers—from living legends like Sri Dharma Mittra and David Swenson to daily studio instructors—I realized the real magic isn't in theory or instant gratification. It’s in the stories, the trust, and the willingness to keep figuring it out when there is no clear path.

In Part 1 of this mini-series, we’re cutting through the noise and diving deep into three core lessons on Abundance & Trust:

It’s in the living, not the theory

The relentless energy to figure things out (and why having "no Plan A" might be your greatest creative power).

How to move with trust, drop the fear, and recognize when you already have enough.
