Despite my efforts to be a wife in a monogamous relationship for the first time in my life, I moved back to Lima and gave up my modeling career in Europe to become a mother. My husband, however, turned out not to be the “ideal” partner, doing whatever he wanted, whenever he wanted, to such an extreme extent that I couldn’t handle it anymore.

My life partner, Fred Chandon, decided that he wanted to marry me, despite my being completely unaware of it. However, when he asked my father for my hand in marriage, my father decided that, because Fred admitted to having had a vasectomy, he was “certain Susy would like to have children.” It was a conversation I knew nothing about at the time. The only person who overheard it was my brother, who told me about it many years later.

Decades ago, Susy along with her now deceased husband opened the Mediterráneo Chicken. A restaurant specialized in Peruvian style braised chicken, that also launched the first delivery service in the country which was an outrageous success.

In 2004 the dish was declared a National Heritage by the Ministry of Culture and in 2010 the day of “el pollo a la brasa” was declared every third Sunday of July.

Susy’s experience in Peruvian television wasn’t the best due to jealousy and envy. Emotions of the heart that still dictate the TV entertainment business. In 1982, when ATV was planning it's program schedule, she created a new concept of workout that amazed even Mario Vargas Llosa as it was never aired!

En el año 2000 escribí la primera versión (muy simple) de un recetario llamado "Comer para sanar". Luego el libro sería reeditado 4 años después, bajo la tutela de la Dra. Teresa Blanco, quien me instigó a sacarlo y gracias a ella se logró que sea auspiciado por la Fundación Ajinomoto. Pero ¿Por qué comer para sanar? Muy simple cuando comes para sanar te mantienes sano y no caes en la enfermedad que requiere curar. Sin embargo, los avances científicos ahora nos desmuestran que no existe una "dieta perfecta" estandarizada, cada ser humano tiene un organismo propio el cual necesita de ciertos alimentos en particular.

I’m not just an ex Peruvian top model of the 70s, I am and also was a daughter, a mother, a friend, a cousin, a wife, a boarding school and Cordon Bleu student and a business woman, I’ve also been in politics not so long ago. I currently host a radio show about mindfulness and live at Mancora, Piura, Perú.
