Todd: Yes. But we’d write letters mostly. Can you kids now actually fathom the idea of waiting 2 weeks for every text response??? lol!!!

We write to set up a date and time to call, because my parents would FREAK OUT if they saw an unauthorized long distance bill.

Bev becomes Laney’s Temp Mom

You ever have a friends parents act or be your temp parents? Going on vacation with a friends etc?

Todd: Kinda..I went on one trip with one of my best friends Justin. I can’t remember what we did, but it involved someone tracking us down to where we were staying and hem confronting his parents about whatever we did. Justin’s Dad yelled at both us us..and at one point told me not to hide behind Justin, lol. I had never been yelled at by someone else’s parent before..ha!

Taras tells how he was a “Rebel Without a Cause” in high school. He didn’t need to try and impress the ladies….his rebel attitude did it all for him.

We chatted about if we have an "Uncle Marvin" in our families:

Todd talks about how his Dad was kind of like Uncle Marvin in regards to his Mom's side of the family....but it wasn't because how his Dad acted, more about how his Mom's family treated his Dad.

Taras said his Uncle Marvin is "Uncle Vic". He said Vic seemed like he was always trying to make sure everyone knew he had more "stuff" than everyone else. Taras says Uncle Vic is still like this today....

Where as Todd has something he calls "Thanksgiving #2" every year around April. It's exactly what is sounds like. A full on 2nd Thanksgiving every year..cuz if it's sooo damn good, why only do it once???

We said we'd link the spasm John DeLorean's daughter had after she watched this episode.....the scene was where Pop's told Marvin about how he watched the news and the DeLorean Motor Company was shut down...

THAT SCENE caused a BIG UPROAR from John DeLorean’s daughter Kathryn DeLorean Seymour from this episode’s reference to the “situation” John DeLorean got in with the FBI

Somehow we got onto how you bury a horse…..you bury their head and not the entire body. Todd talks about the Kentucky Horse Park outside of Louisville KY. A great place to visit to see some retired famous racehorses and the burial location of Man o’War.

Todd and Taras talk about their neighborhood friends. Todd’s best friends are Stuart and Justin and he’s known them since he was 6 years old! Todd tells the story of how his friend Stuarts step dad was Jonathan Edwards who sings “Sunshine”. Also how Jonathan coached their basketball teams as kids. Todd’s dad and his friend Justin’s dad coached their baseball teams for a couple years.

Todd tells his story of how our friend James took a picture of Todd stretching in his underwear….and now James keeps it for blackmail purposes.

We chat about how our parents interact with one another...similar to how Bev and Murray communicate.

Story One: Barry Must Follow the Rules Barry has just received his license but must obey Beverly’s rules for driving. Barry gets called out at the movie theater the first time he breaks the rule.

Story Two: Beverly Worries About Pops Falling Down. Beverly gets Pops a device that helps him if he were ever to fall. Pops is resistant to wear the device until he throws out his back.

Story Three: Erica helps Barry

Erica schools Barry on how to get around the driving rules so he doesn’t screw up her privileges.

October 18th, 1980-something

Todd & Taras talk about when they first got their license and the rules their parents set for them. Then we compare our road rules to the rules Beverly Goldberg set on Erica and Barry.

Bev’s Rules of Driving:

? (we guess: Follow ALL Traffic Laws) ? In trouble? Call for help and STAY In The Car Be home by 10 ? ? Total Focus On The Road: No eating, No passengers, No music Doors must be locked and windows rolled up at ALL times Only drive in safe areas. Bev made a map of appropriate driving zones. Stay in Green zone Call me when you get there!!!

Todd tells us about how he used to hang out in the poster section of Spencer's Gifts…you know where all the barely clothed HOT chicks were at! Also Todd reminisces about a VERY DISTURBING STORY on a gag gift he got his Mom when he was in his early teens…before he knew how inappropriate it really was. Here’s a hint….it was cylindrical and took batteries.

Taras said his Mom didn’t do too many things to embarrass him in front of his friends where Todd’s Mom pulled him and his friends out of the movie theater once when she took them to see Weird Science (Which is an AWESOME movie). It was too much for Todd’s Mom to handle, but for the kids….it was awesome. All 15 minutes of it!

Taras tells us a story between him and his sister. Does she help Taras evade his parents while he’s “impaired” or does she throw him under the bus?
