Jesus didn't teach us to listen to the majority and follow the world, but to listen to His truth. Today, if we choose to believe, God is able to take us from what we were and make us into who He purposed for us to be. God can tear up the script that we've been following and give us a new life.

If we're prepared to leave our ways behind and come and follow God with all our heart, the door to salvation is open and we become entitled to His promises and privileges. If we can only believe, this becomes our hope as God can do above what we ask or think. [Speaker: Barry]

We can come so close to Jesus yet still not know Him. To know Him is to leave everything, even our own lives, and not continue to seek our own selfish ways. If you hear His voice and respond, you will discover a life much greater than the life you now live and Jesus is not afar off - He will show Himself strong in your life.

We may have once lived like the world in the futility of our minds but as Christians we are free and no longer need to live or think the way everybody else does.  We are called to put off our old ways and put on Christ so that He influences our every interaction and decision and we live in a way that glorifies Him.

The love of one anther as Christians sets us apart from the world. The one who is able to put Jesus in the place of themselves, lay down their life for others, and comfortably wash one another's feet is the one who knows how to walk in unity.

God wants us to not only know His word, but to be able to live it. We need to seek out what it is He has called us to, and we can be confident that if God says something is His will, He will provide what we need to accomplish it.

We can have all the pleasures of life which are enjoyable but they will only last for a time. If we really want to live, we need to come to a place where we trust Jesus and are born again. Only then will our lives be transformed into a new creation and we can experience the true meaning of life.

As we think about our plans and resolutions for 2024, let's make Jesus our everything, and choose not to hide or hold anything back from Him. If you do this, He will establish your plans. This is His promise

The greatest resolution we can make for the year ahead is to be honest with God and resolve the things we hold back in our heart. The God who sees and knows all things can crown our year with goodness.

Baptism is a commitment that confirms people have decided to follow Jesus. It's a symbol to the world that we no longer live, but Christ now lives in us and we are buried and risen again because of Him

The inner life involves having the kingdom of God in us. It is to have Christ ruling in our heart through faith, being grounded and rooted, we draw all our nourishment from Him and stand firm

Are you missing out on the blessed life? There is a difference between having a 'good' life where we do things our own way, and a 'blessed' life which has the favour of God upon it. This life belongs to those who hear the Word of God and keep it. His laws are not there to restrain or quench us, they are there to free us, and give us hope and life.

The way we are towards each other is where we see Jesus at work. God has designed us to be in fellowship and He reminds us to love and be humble with one another so that we can be what we need to be for other people, and to bless and encourage one another.

The fight that we have in our hearts is not a physical fight, but a spiritual wrestle to trust the Lord and do things according to His perfect way and plan. When we can find rest in this battle, therein lies the victory of the good fight.

People today continually try to ridicule and undermine the name of Jesus. Regardless, the same Jesus continues to set people free, because you cannot stop the truth and the living God. If we focus on the name of Jesus, we can be restored and made whole. [Speaker: Barry]

We cannot win when we are in darkness and holding on to sin. We need to stop what we're doing and tell the darkness to hold its place until we wrestle with our sin and light overcomes it. Only then can we experience the miracles and wonders of God.

We are constantly making relationships, including in the church community. God guides us in the way we are to make and keep our relationships, but from time to time, these relationships can break down. There are many things in life that we are drawn to worry about. However as children of God, He wants us to have a very different mindset to the world. Our life's purpose is God's Kingdom, and He wants us to be preoccupied with the things that matter to Him. When we feel like we are about to give up, the Bible reminds us that we can come boldly to the throne of grace for help. We should not come timid or cautious but instead be confident, knowing that God is always there to help us out of any situation.

There is a constant wrestle taking place for our soul. We need to be careful to discern between the voice of the enemy which tries to trick us and create disunity, and the voice of Jesus which is selfless, always loves and brings unity.

13 November Loving your neighbour The compassion of God must be at the centre of everything we do as a fellowship. We ought to love as brothers and sisters, be tender hearted, courteous, have the same mind and have compassion on one another. As we grow, we grow with the heart of God in all things.

We carry in us the truths of God but are people seeing and hearing them from us? Why do we sometimes hesitate to share God's Word? The enemy wants to veil the gospel. But Jesus said because we have freely received, we are to freely give. People need to hear the message of Jesus Christ that sets people free.

Are we living life trying to measure our goodness with the goodness of other people? No amount of our own goodness is enough before the Lord. We are all in desperate need of God's mercy. And when His mercy touches a person's heart, that's the beginning of an amazing transformation in our lives.

When Jesus first passed by the disciples, they immediately left their nets to follow Him. In the same way, Jesus calls us to let go of maintaining our nets and the burdens of this world, and follow Him to experience His yolk which is light and easy.

Out of the heart spring the issues of life. God warns us to guard our hearts so that no matter what situation we face in life, our heart and behaviour always reflect the image of Christ.

What are the things that occupy your and your time? Are you 'too busy' for the things of God? God wants us to seek Him and His Kingdom first, and to trust that everything else we need He will add to us. For He is a rewarded of those who diligently seek Him.

If we place ourselves in compromising situations that we shouldn’t be in, we will inevitably give into sin. Jesus resisted all temptation and showed us that what we need above all things is to trust in and abide by the Word of God in order to live well and nourish our souls.

If we can’t humble ourselves to serve and love others, we are still in a state of pride before God. We need to let go of ‘self’ and consider others greater than what we do ourselves, so we can serve freely and experience sweet fellowship with Jesus. [Speaker: Barry]

Are we focusing our attention on building the kingdom through our lives? We need to be a people who pray and seek God’s face and believe that He will provide for us as we move in a direction that God is pleased with. [Speaker: Barry]

We need to always be ready to discern between what is good and right and what is deceptive. Only then will we be able to stand on the truths of God and be a people who respond with the arm of faith. [Speaker: Barry]

As we move into 2022, if we want anything to be different, we are to approach the year with faith. Our call is not to just believe in Christ, but to become like Christ - and we can only do this by faith that pleases God.

How are we responding to the obstacles and challenges of life? God wants us to respond with the arm of faith, not the arm of the flesh. God is calling us in every circumstance to respond in faith.

If the Lord asks us to do something, is He ever setting us up to fail? He is building in us a faith that believes that no matter what, He is Lord and He will ultimately be glorified in our situation.

When you have faith and love, by the spirit of God in you, you are able to refresh others and to encourage them in the ways of the Lord. [Speaker: Barry]

As fellow labourers, our faith is demonstrated in the way we live and love. If we love one another with the love of Christ, things like restoration, healing, forgiveness and mercy will flow from us. [Speaker: Barry]

How does your life affect the lives of other people? Be faithful to those around you that you may refresh and pour Christ into their lives. [Speaker: Barry]

Who we are and how we live must align with each other. We are called to live differently to the world as the faithful friends of Jesus. [Speaker: Barry]

Is your faith getting tired? When we feel we’ve had enough and can’t see the end, God encourages us to hang in there and endure so that our faith may be strengthened.

Do you find yourself worrying all the time? You don’t need to be trapped and restricted by the power of worry. Trust in God who looks after the people in His Kingdom. [Speaker: Barry]
